Mike Pence gets booed by the audience while attending "Hamilton." Donald Trump blames cast, demands apology.

As you can hear this is the reaction of audience members, and done of their own accord.

In fact the curtains are closed and the show has not yet started.

However thin skinned Donald Trump thought that this was the fault of the cast members and sent off this tweet in response.

Blaming the cast for the actions of the audience, before a show even starts?

Overreact much?

Actually the cast showed remarkable restraint, and at the end of the show the lead actor Brandon Victor Dixon had this message for Mike Pence:

“We have a guest in the audience this evening. Vice President-elect Pence I see you walking out, but I hope you will hear us just a few more moments. There’s nothing to boo here ladies and gentlemen. We have a message for you sir. We hope that you will hear us out. I encourage everyone to pull out your phones and tweet because this message needs to be spread far and wide.

Vice President-elect Pence we welcome you and we truly thank you for joining us here at Hamilton, an American Musical. We really do. We sir, we are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, out children, our parents or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir. But we truly hope that this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and to work on behalf of all of us. All of us. We truly thank you for sharing in this show, this wonderful American story told by a diverse group of men, women of different colors, creeds and orientations and we truly hope that you heard our message sir, because you all represent all of us."

Not sure how that gets translated into being rude in the eyes of Donald Trump, but if this is how he responds to everything I think our first new war will be starting less than a week after his inauguration.

  1. Anonymous12:02 PM

And just as BO calms boo-ers at his speeches/rallies, the cast calmed the audience. But of course this is ignored.

    1. Anonymous1:29 PM

And, it is never done by Mr. Trump, not ever and that is what was the start of all this highly vocal animosity. His doing and his alone.

  2. Anonymous12:20 PM

Such a bigly vocabulary, our “wonderful” future VP, someone should send trump a thesaurus, might come off sounding like an adult for a change.

The first war will begin on inauguration day, when he spends his time tweeting about the “paid” protestors.

    1. Anonymous12:43 PM

Trump is having nightmares about protesters. Because he and the media will do everything they can to ignore and hide protests from the public we must all be active on the internet.

The media built him and now they want us to believe he won't destroy America while he is making them billions and billions of dollars.

    2. Anonymous1:43 PM

Get off the news - regular and cable. They are making millions off Trump and he helps them promote himself! He always has and the media has fallen in step - constantly building him up.

And, now they are pushing Trump to be a normal guy and saying his appointments are sweethearts and have no bad records. Screw them in spreading their false claims!

Thank God for Rachel Maddow and Lawrence McDonnell on MSNBC. Bet The Donald will try to get rid of them once he is in office - in some manner. Sincerely hope he has neither killed/murdered!

He has already said he'd quiet the media that was anti him. Legally he's not suppose to be able to do it - but, we'll see. Don't trust the jerk as far as I can throw him!

    3. Anonymous2:14 PM

I hate to break it to you but MSNBC is part of the cable news that you are encouraging everyone to "get off of".

Either commit to thinking for yourself and absolve yourself of ALL of it or spend your time with only the "like-minded" media which you seem to be implying we all do here.

Just say no to all of it, Rachel and LOD are just as complicit in this problem as are the rest of the channels because they refused to see reality as it was happening and now are trying to walk it back after disaster happened.

    4. Anonymous2:30 PM

I agree with you. I'm only watching Rachel and Lawrence.

    5. Anonymous10:40 PM

Anon 2:14-getting off "ALL" of the news will make us as stupid as those who only watch fux. Keeping up with real facts is the only thing we have now. I trust Rachel for the most part, I totally trust Lawrence and Chris Hayes. Real knowledge is power. And boy do we need some power now.

  3. Anonymous12:27 PM

Trump needs to apologize to President Obama for all of the disrespect and racism he lashed out at him, and the lied he told about him almost his entire terms in office.

    1. Anonymous1:27 PM

Exactly!!! It is OK for him to bully people, including our President, and NEVER say he is sorry that he was out of line. But, one little bit of "nasty" against him or any of "his people" and he is off and running and demanding an apology.

And, I am still waiting for him to ask his supporters to pull it back and NO LONGER promote violence among his people directed at anyone who might have a different POV than his. His behavior and that of his supporters is THE reason anyone is demonstrating against him now. He started it and HE is the one who need to stop it.

    2. Anonymous1:36 PM

Trump is the worst asshole this country will have to put up for - - - ? Hopefully, he'll so blatantly break a law that he will be impeached before the first year has been finished!

The thought of continually seeing his fat, white face constantly on TV is already old and he's not even potus! JHC!

He craves the constant coverage and revels in it! And, the media follows right in step.

Fuck, Donald Trump! He respects no one except his family members and himself!

We are in major trouble! Get ready - we are doomed and there will be another war outside of our country as well as across our nation!

    4. Anonymous1:39 PM

edit: and the *lies he told about him almost his entire terms in office.

    5. Anonymous2:18 PM

This man has not even been inaugurated yet and you are already falling into a hole of depression, doom and gloom and weird character exclamations in your comments?

A lot can happen in the next 70 days and I'm not talking about an electoral change of mind, but perhaps this man will not be inaugurated and things will fall apart.

I feel for you people that are so distraught already, just see your therapist, up your meds or start drinking.

The end of the world is not here yet. Lots of folks in 2000 were feeling this very same way and yet even after 8 years of BushCheney the world did not end.

This kind of hyperbole is a self-fulfilling prophecy and perhaps you all need to just chill until the worst actually happens?

    6. Anonymous6:47 PM

I agree with 2:18, some of the comments here are getting to be like chicken little the sky is falling.

I believe trump and his so called administration is going to do themselves in by breaking the law, but we are not doomed.

  4. slipstream12:28 PM

If I remember correctly, Lincoln also enjoyed going to the theater.

    1. Anonymous2:19 PM

I saw a tweet yesterday that said "By no means is being booed by the audience the worst thing that's happened to an elected official at the theatre".

  6. Anonymous12:34 PM

So yes, this is a thing: #BoycottHamilton. You know, because the audience exercised its First Amendment right of free speech and booed our vice president-elect, Mike Pence, who, by the way, has also been booed at a baseball game in his home state.

So let’s boycott Indiana too, conservatives.

This boycott is rather silly as has been pointed out on that selfsame Twitter.

Actor/comedian and Twitter wit John Fugelsang scores an excellent point when he tweets,

Journalists are expressing concern that President-elect Donald Trump's tweets attacking the cast of Hamilton are a signal of how the next president intends to suppress free speech.…

    1. Anonymous1:52 PM

Maybe I can get tickets bow!

    2. Anonymous2:20 PM

Saw a Venn diagram that showed very little overlap between the people that would actually be able to first, afford Hamilton tickets and be able to procure them and the idiots that are protesting Hamilton.

    3. Anonymous4:32 AM

2:20 funny! Do you have a link?
I can afford them, but after spending 4k for Book of Mormon at its peak,I am waiting a bit on Hamilton.

  7. Anonymous12:37 PM

'If we wanna discuss what is rude Mr. President (Elect), I'm pretty sure grabbing a woman by her genitalia ranks higher than booing.'

  8. Anonymous12:39 PM

President Little Fingers is scared shitless because he knows the people won't be half so polite to him.

More tweets, that's what's needed, more tweeting.

What a fucking idiot. Will he even make it to January 21?

    1. Anonymous1:37 PM

Yah, more and more. Let him know he's UNPOPULAR, in fact the most UNPOPULAR pres-elect ever, plus he lost the POPULAR vote and probably cheated to get the electoral vote. Scald his ass every day with his UNPOPULARITY. Hillary was more POPULAR!!! Fuck you and your goons, Trump.

    2. Anonymous2:23 PM

I think it is possible through online and physical protest to send this very thin-skinned orange imbecile into some sort of Twitter or verbal tirade that will prove his unfitness for the office.

Keep pushing his buttons folks, we can make him lose it and thereby drive him out of office.

  9. Anonymous12:39 PM

Gun nuts use fear of Trump to push liberals to buy guns —

  10. Anonymous12:40 PM

WATCH: Mike Pence booed at ‘Hamilton’ — and the internet loves it

'UPDATE: At the close of the musical, the cast had a special message for Pence. “We are the diverse America that are alarmed and anxious that you and your administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir,” he began. “We hope that this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and work on behalf of all of us.”'

  11. Anonymous1:03 PM

It's rude to tweet "check out sex tape", but Donald Trump did that while campaigning for POTUS. It's rude to say "I could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue", but Donald Trump said that.

I'm waiting for the apologies I am due from our President-Elect.

  12. Anonymous1:05 PM

Limp Dick Donald claims he could have won trial, but he's just too damn busy. No asshole, there were only two outcomes.. Guilty or don't do the GD crime in the first place.

  13. Anonymous1:51 PM

This is some people's president. How very presidential he acts. Fucking baby tweeting. What a Fucking embarassment he is. He makes us a laughingstock.

  14. Anonymous2:17 PM

The theater a safe a special place....
Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in a theater.
Trump doesn't just grab pussy--he is a pussy. He won't last 4 yrs of this.

  15. They're blaming the CAST because the AUDIENCE boo'd him?

Yeah, this is the fucking Trump administration.

No one should apologize. NO ONE.

The speech made was courteous and appropriate. Nothing to apologize there.

Perhaps Pence should apologize for walking out while the cast was talking to him.

    1. Anonymous4:07 PM

I thought the statement made on behalf of the cast after the play ended was very appropriate. Had Pence an ounce of graciousness in his body he would have thanked them and told them that he fully understood their concerns.

    2. Anonymous6:51 PM

I want to know if Pence wore his formal Gestapo uniform,, it is Broadway after all, or did he go with the casual one.

  16. Trump demands an apology but never apologizes. He has not apologized to President Obama for his Bircher nonsense to women for threatening to grab their pussy for making fun of the disabled and I'm sure many other things. The media gives trump a pass yet he demands an apology. This is an article about conservatives demanding apologies omfg

Trump Is Still Meeting With Business Partners After Winning The Election

“It looks to us that he’s clearly not able to maintain a blind trust and still keep the company under his ownership and, frankly, control,” said Jordan Libowitz, communications director for the ethics watchdog Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington. “We really think that the best thing he can do is sell the company outside of the family and place the money from the sale into an actual blind trust.”

Just a day after Donald Trump was announced president-elect a student handed out 'deportation letters'.

Trump is going to grow very old very fast if he doesn't learn to control his ire. Someone needs to explain free speech to him. How about a tutorial on the Constitution?

    1. Anonymous7:01 PM

Maybe Melanomia can lend him her notes from her naturalization test.

We never did get to see his medical records, wonder what goodies are lurking there, besides high blood pressure.

What he told his children....pos...tell them about rumpy's words and the sessions dumb he is. Like he will be saved he will ne part of swamp.

Well he sure got you to bite on the reality TV kind of controversy this man will use for the next 4 years, instead of the 25 million $ settlement he paid out to keep Trum Univ. out of the News headlines.
