Rachel Maddow scraps a segment of her show to warn viewers about Trump's appointment of Mike Flynn as his National Security Advisor.

Courtesy of Mediaite:

“It will not be discussed all that much compared to the other people who need to go through a Senate confirmation process, but the choice of Mike Flynn really is a different kill of fish than anything that even I think we might have expected from the Trump campaign,” she said.

Maddow continued with strong concern, “Mike Flynn calls Islam a political ideology hiding behind a religion. Mike Flynn calls Islam a malignant cancer.”

General Flynn formerly served as the director for the Defense Intelligence Agency, and his views on oft-cited Trump campaign topics like waterboarding and the killing of suspected terrorists’ families have been expressed ambiguously at best. Maddow continued:

“I would also say that Mike Flynn has been on the payroll — his intelligence firm has been on the payroll of Turkey , including during the Trump campaign, without him disclosing that while he was working for the Trump campaign. I know he’s not gonna get as much coverage… stick a pin in that. It’s a really, really important, really really worrying announcement.”

We are all so freaked out by the appointments of Stephen Bannon and Jeff Sessions that I think for a lot of us this Mike Flynn thing kind of flew under the radar.

But it shouldn't.

Apparently Donald Trump took that "basket of deplorables" thing literally and is plucking from it to staff his administration.

And that is terrible news for the future of this country.

P.S. Flynn apparently also shared fake conspiracy theories about Hillary and Muslims, so yeah he's deplorable.

Of course this is why he's not getting a Cabinet position requiring hearings. No matter how much idiot Trump might like him, what kind of pres-elect appoints this kind of loose cannon? Even being a loose cannon himself, Trump should have some sort of judgement here. Flynn is extreme and he doesn't work well with anyone. He has no sense of loyalty. He hangs out with Putin!

It's disgusting how he stood at that GOP convention and himself chanted "Lock her up!" This guy is nuts. All the info she shared and that's online and that I've heard others say--like, Colin Powell and other military and CIA people--makes it crystal clear that Flynn needs to be removed and needs a shrink. He seriously needs help. Of course he'll never get it. So be it. But get that guy off the admin.

Trump, though, was desperate for recs from military and Flynn was the first lower-tier person to endorse him. Trump feels he owes him. And he seems to want to live in a bubble of being Flynn's and others' god. He will not be getting the best info. He won't be getting thought-through, truly weighed info. There will be no attempt, when needed, at objectivity.

McCain: If Trump tries to bring back waterboarding, he'll be in court in a 'New York minute'

Sen. John McCain of Arizona issued a forceful warning to the incoming Trump administration on Saturday, declaring that any government agency that reinstates waterboarding will be taken to court in a "New York minute."

McCain, who himself survived torture while he was a prisoner of war during the Vietnam War, made the remarks at the Halifax International Security Forum in response to a question about Congress' power to rein in a president on issues such as waterboarding.

"I don't give a damn what the president of the United States wants to do, or anybody else wants to do - we will not waterboard, we will not torture," he said to applause.

"My friends, it doesn't work. If you inflict enough pain on somebody long enough, they're going to tell you whatever they think you want to hear to get it to stop."

...."I would absolutely authorize something beyond waterboarding," Trump told ABC's George Stephanopoulos in February....

      Waste of time.

I read an article today on electors getting bombarded with letters, messages and e-mails to change their vote from Trump. Even some death threats.

They're saying they are not changing their vote. One said if he was he would ask to be replaced.

Bernie is out there bustin' his ass also.

"One of the most valuable lessons of Sanders’ campaign was that it proved to the Democratic Party that a presidential candidate doesn’t just win support by moving to the left, but can actually capture the imagination of increasingly disillusioned voters left behind by both major parties," observes progressive commentator Sonali Kolhatkar.
Part of fighting for the middle class means rejecting corporate donations and corporate influence, the Vermont senator argued."

Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O'Donnell are the only two on MSNBC that are telling it like it truly IS when it comes to The Donald!

I worry for both of them once Trump has taken his oath. Hope they have hired security as I'm sure The Donald will be after them big time. Or, have hired someone to do them in or have his minions go after them!

OT a little bit but I'm really amused at the more information that is coming out regarding Trump's kid Barron and his possible autism or other mental disorders. Just another thing they were able to hide but can't now that they are now all in the spotlight.

So much this family has tried to hide.

This mention of Barron has me thinking about how Trump described him as a baby. He hoped infant Tiffany would grow up to have big tits (I hate that word but I am channeling Trump here) and he was looking for signs that baby Barron was an animal:

“He’s strong, he’s smart, he’s tough, he’s vicious, he’s violent — all of the ingredients you need to be an entrepreneur, and most importantly, hopefully he’s smart because smart is really the ingredient,” Trump said.

I hadn't herd about this and just googled the subject and watched a YouTube video, which, pieced together as it was, made me wonder, but there are other things online that make it seem Barron is just a typical kid but one who has to tolerate being the son of an attention-craving billionaire. The only thing I've really thought about his appearance since first seeing the boy is that his eyes seem vacant. But Donald's as a boy in pics do too. Still, when I see pics of Barron it feels like there's something closed down. If he is autistic, shame on his father for bringing more complications and confusion and inconsistency into Barron's life--that is unforgivable.

So Corrupt Trump will be sending jobs to India, Ivanka will sell state secrets and Donnie is using an unsecured phone line.

We can look forward to Unsecured Phone Line Gate

    ---------------------------------

Trump already violating ‘blind trust’ agreement by meeting with Indian business partners

President-elect Donald Trump and his children attended a meeting with a group of Indian investors this week — which may mean Trump has already violated rules separating his personal business and his role as ascendant chief executive....

However, Kalpesh Mehta told India’s Economic Times that during the meeting, Donald Trump Jr. expressed interest in expanding the family’s penetration of the Indian market.....

Earlier this week, Ivanka Trump was photographed sitting in on a meeting between her father and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at Trump Tower, which raised eyebrows in the diplomatic community and beyond. State Department officials noted that no effort has been made to vet Ivanka Trump or obtain her a security clearance.

Trump has also blundered by making unscheduled calls to foreign officials without being properly briefed and on unsecured phone lines.

The trump picks may be good people, they may be talented, but if WE the people for one second allow the fact that the election was rigged and we DID NOTHING about it? that is beyond my imagination. Before we can move on to next chapter we must correct the rigged election and hold and charge those responsible. New election.

This evening I heard about Trump's 3rd Hamilton tweet, the one where he said that the actor (one, not the cast) attacked Pence and couldn't even memorize his lines (he was reading what Lin-Manuel had just composed to be read and plus had just performed many memorized lines). So, Trump was obsessing. And he was singling out one actor of color and insulting his intelligence. He ended up deleting that tweet.

Watch the debate video below and Trump talks about vaccines causes autism. Trump said "I've seen it", then he talks about vile in a tube meant for a horse pumped into a baby. Is Trump talking about Barron?

    https://youtu.be/yZAd5Pu9iw4

Internet says vaccines causes autism is unsupported:
Parents may first become aware of autistic symptoms in their child around the time of a routine vaccination. This has led to unsupported theories blaming vaccine "overload", a vaccine preservative, or the MMR vaccine for causing autism. The latter theory was supported by a litigation-funded study that has since been shown to have been "an elaborate fraud".
