Somehow this comic from 1933 seems frighteningly appropriate right now.

And that sure worked out well didn't it?

  1. It's going to be a banner year for 1930s Germany comparisons.

As long as you're not a history teacher. Then you could be fired.

Even if you ARE a history teacher!

Captain Bone Spurs is already tweeting AGAIN this morning about the "Hamilton" uproar, demanding an apology. In the tweet he says that he hears that the show is "highly overrated"! Apparently so much so that it's sold out through next September! What a freakin' crybaby!

    1. Anonymous4:42 AM

      Apologize for booing?!
      Fuck you, #notmypresident!

Trump is one thin-skinned childish lounge lizard looking SOB.

We have not seen his health report, hmm. And why does his children have to be with him in every meeting?
Is there something mentally unsound going on?
Is there something like illiteracy going on, and he needs his children to explain to him what is said in a meeting?
Is he a functional illiterate like W Bush?

These are questions that the American people need answers to.

    3. I didn't get into the Hamilton soundtrack until March of this year, and it has done much to ease my anxiety and grief. (Although I still cry at each of the duel deaths, the tears somehow are good ones.)

It still does. For Donald to chide one of the greatest creations of my lifetime is pointless and stupid, just as he is.

@5:16AM - I too have questioned what is going on. Melabnorma has been present at Drumpf's meetings with Ryan, in some all male assemblies except for her, 60 Minutes, and otherwise one or more of his kids, or in-laws is there.

What the hell is the matter with him that we don't know about? That insecure, that likely to go off the deep end? Never seen such "babysitting" before and it is more unsettling than a lot of his other behaviors like tweets- maybe necessary to keep him from leering or grabbing p***** if family wasn't present to make sure he behaves? No self control? Business promotions for sure.

Drumpf's team has to explain his words/sentences/announcements to us and now there is a necessity for bodily gatekeepers? Who is this weak creep those deplorables thought they were electing because he was going to do big things?

In certain parts of the southern coastline, in the 50's and 60's, in elementary schools, they practiced drills. One for earthquakes and one for bombs. Children scrambled under their desk. In those days the Red Scare and propaganda/books etc galore. Adults were terrified of communist rule, soviet union, Russia. And if you read the history and stories? This election will make sense to you. All I can say is WAKE UP America. Fracking and you can go F yourself type have caused enough damage to our life and country in the last 60 yrs.

I grew up in a town that was close to the number 10 target on the USSR missile list. I got in serious trouble - as a ten year old - because I asked what the hell was the point since we were only 17 miles from that target.

If the blast didn't get us, the glass in our school certainly would!

They didn't like it when a mere student pointed out the FACTS to them. It took most of the scientists (physicists and inorganic chemists) at that facility to convince them I was right. That REALLY made me at the head of the list of students to be "watched". In those days NO student was allowed to prove the teachers wrong. They still felt they were gods who could do no wrong.

    2. Anonymous8:36 AM

They were your facts... and not the facts that all the dimwit teachers knew.

    3. Leland9:18 AM

Actually, 8:36, no they weren't MY facts. They were merely facts. And the rest of my class knew them as well since our fathers and mothers were eager to teach us when we asked. After all, THEY knew the truth and the facts.

As for the teachers, it wasn't their doing, it was just the way things had been in this country for many, many decades. Teachers were thought to have a need of TOTAL control in their class rooms.

Oh, and it was the school districts in that area which required those drills.

History is, if not repeating itself, rhyming like h*ll.

    NOT funny>

    1. They'll likely give it to him, only not in the way he expects. He's dealing with people way above his pay grade. They'll do a sketch as he requested but he'll still be lampooned so badly even the Nazis will laugh if they are capable.

Don't feed the trolls!
It just goes directly to their thighs.
