Samantha Bee lays the blame for the election of Donald Trump where it rightfully belongs, on white people.

Courtesy of Raw Story:

“It’s pretty clear who ruined America,” Bee began. “White people. I guess ruining Brooklyn was just a dry run. The Caucasian nation showed up in droves to vote for Trump so I don’t want to hear a goddamn word about black voter turnout. How many times do we expect black people to build our country for us? White people, this is the worst.”

“And don’t try to distance yourself and say #notallwhitepeople,” she continued. “If Muslims have to take responsibility for every member of their community, so do we. Oh, does that feel awful? Yeah. 63 percent of white men said ‘If I can’t be in charge, burn it down!’ And a majority of white women faced with the historic choice between a female and a vial of weaponized testosterone said, ‘I’ll take option B. I just don’t like her.’ Hope you got your stickers, ladies. Way to lean out!”

You know I was really enjoying this bit and yelling out "You tell'em Samantha!" right up until I passed a mirror in my house and remembered that I am not only super duper white, but I am also a male.

Well crap!

Then I just felt all sad and self loathing.

But then I took solace in the knowledge that in just a couple of months, after Trump voters realize that he either has not intention, or no ability, to keep the idiotic promises that he made while running, and that the policies he WILL enact will do great harm to them personally, that I will soon be joined in my self loathing by white women, lower income Southern men, Teabaggers, white Evangelicals, the GOP establishment, and essentially EVERYONE whose last name is not "Trump."

And at least I TRIED to do the right thing.

The only problem with that is that everyone, here and abroad, will also have to bear the burden of the 21st century's GOP great triumph over democracy. I don't think I'll feel elated until they are all swept from office.

Yes. The GOP will have total control of House and Senate and will have to actually G O V E R N for once, instead of dreaming up obstructionist tactics to tittilate their base.
And they must explain how their new shiny government in our bedrooms, bathrooms and doctor's offices is part of being the new improved 'small government'.
All that Drumpf anger will go somewhere when those impossible campaign promises aren't upheld. Let's work together to ensure that anger is directed at the true cause, and not the various scapegoats the GOP will offer up.

There is a great likelyhood that Trump will be impeached for at least 2 offenses; his upcoming court convictions and his ties to Russia before, during and after the election.

But then we get Pence. Though he is a fundamental nut job too, I'm not quite as afraid of him having nuclear codes as I am Trump.

Pence wants to ban condoms as a way to reduce the rate of abortion. He and his ardent supporters (praying for god to kill Trump, by the way) believe that if protection isn't readily available, people just won't have sex.

Pence will want to outlaw seatbelts, next, to cut down on wrecks because people will drive more carefully since they don't have the protection of a seatbelt.

    2. He cannot be impeached for the Trump U crimes as that happened before he was elected. It's also unlikely he'd be given a prison sentence. Just a fine, which he'll pay. That is if he doesn't settle first. He loves to settle with no admission of guilt so he can brag that he's never lost and has never been guilty of anything.

The election fixing also won't stick. He didn't do it. The Russians and Assange did it, he just took advantage of it. No way to prove he asked them to do it. Same with the FBI. Unless Trump asked Giuliani to ask a buddy in the FBI to get Comey to release that letter, no way to prove Trump manipulated the election. Did Giuliani KNOW? Absolutely. But again, Trump didn't instigate it, just took advantage of it.

But will he be impeached? I have no doubt. They'll get him on perjury, just like Bill Clinton only this time it will stick. He'll lie on financial disclosure documents that all elected officials are required to fill out and sign under oath. He'll lie because we all know he can't tell the truth. He'll get caught. He'll be impeached and even the Republicans won't save him. Enough of them will have the integrity to vote him out. By that time he'll have made more enemies or simply be considered too unfit to hold the office. Plus I'm sure they'd all rather have Mike Pence. Then Pence can appoint a VP that they can approve.

If Trump is impeached, then Paul Ryan would be VP and then Pres when Pence is impeached or resigns.

I've seen it before and y'all have, too. President Paul Ryan has the same cadence as President Gerald Ford.

It's going to be a long, long wait for Trump's supporters to realize "no intention, or no ability". The Sarah Palin supporters hung on well passed the point where any sane person would realize Palin is dumber than a box of rocks.

Trump supporters just want to enjoy hate, wallow in hate, shout hate, bow before the altar of hate, etc. Analyzing the defects of one Donald J. Trump is not on their agenda.

If he does not broadcast a statement (not a tweet) some time today telling the children of his supporters to stop behaving like little fascists then we will know that he approves their behavior.

People forgiving and letting Bill Clinton and Donald Trump move on from mistakes, yet forever holding Hillary, Sarah, and any woman really to a higher standard, not letting them move on and live in the present is why the world sucks. If both those named women were men, no one would have a bad word to say. Hillary makes Sarah look like a newborn kitten, but it doesn't matter. The world is sexist. Women are not respected. They're still viewed as weaker. When in reality, they're so much better than EVERY man on this planet. I don't know Hillary which is why I dont comment on her. But Sarah is a selfless, balanced, hardworking woman who has never neglected anything in her life to pursue something else. She is a successful working mom yet made time to go to games even a Governor, planed vacations and road trips, blended family life with professional in amazing ways. That is undisputed by those who actually know her. my friends worked for her a Governor. A black woman. She attests to all this. Britta just attested to it in a defensive statement about her.

Sarah Palin took a transcontinental air flight after an amniotic fluid leak without a medical check when "pregnant" with a Down Syndrome baby while she was high risk (7th pregnancy, history of miscarriage, over 40 years old). She by-passed a hospital with a neo-natal intensive care unit to supposedly give birth in a small hospital not even rated to handle twins.

Sarah Palin bragged about these details. A woman that handled such a pregnancy that way is insane. A woman that invented a story like that is insane. Either way, Sarah Palin is insane (and dumber than a box of rocks).

Earlier today I posted about an interesting West Wing episode (The Supremes) that was about deciding on the choices for SCOTUS. I hope that these marches will happen all during Trump's term whenever he forgets just who it is he represents and just how easy it will be to vote him out in four years. Man, I keep hoping that the fact that he's been a Dem before, has daughters, and has always enjoyed so much about the liberal lifestyle will mean that a part of him remembers that healthy sex is not something to be punished for and that women deserve a right to choice. I keep hoping that half of what he has been spouting is not what he actually believes and will simply go with as a thanks to the GOP loons who helped him win. I keep hoping that Obama and someone else who's a GOP real adult will talk to him about what goes into the decision making and taking time to really weigh everything. Pipe dream, huh?

Faithless Electors Could Put Clinton In Office

Sometimes the cruelest thing you can do is give someone hope in a hopeless situation. But for those of you searching for a dim light at the end of the 2016 election tunnel, here it goes: Hillary Clinton still has a miniscule chance of winning the presidency. While the electoral votes from Michigan and Arizona are still outstanding, Donald Trump’s current lead in the Electoral College is 279 to 228. Trump is nine votes over the 270 needed to win, but some of them can be awarded to Clinton by what’s known as Faithless Electors.

Since the beginning of the Electoral College, Faithless Electors have voted against the winning candidate 157 times. 71 of of these votes were changed because the candidate died before the election and 82 were changed because the elector simply wanted to vote for someone else. Most recently, an anonymous Faithless Elector in Minnesota pledged to vote for Democrat John Kerry, but instead voted for his vice presidential running mate, John Edwards.

The Electoral College officially casts their vote for president on December 19, 2016. To encourage members pledged to vote for Trump to switch to Clinton, a petition has been created at Change.org. The petition’s creators believe that a vote for Clinton aligns with the will of the American electorate because she won the popular vote. “The only reason Trump ‘won’ is because of the Electoral College,” petition reads. “But the Electoral College can actually give the White House to either candidate. So why not use this most undemocratic of our institutions to ensure a democratic result?”

I tried to swing her to Hillary, and when she asked my husband who *he* was going to vote for, he responded, "That's for me to know, and you not to." I KNOW - I just KNOW -that he voted for Trump. He was dumb enough to vote for 'W' *twice*, then was so guilt ridden about it that he volunteered for Habitat for Humanity to do "penance" (How will he wash his guilt off for *this* sin, I wonder?). Then, he voted for Barack Obama; on seeing the results he cried for the one of only three times I remember seeing him weep, expressed genuine fear and concern for his safety and well-being on taking the oath of office, and got roaring mad at the fear tactics going on at the Town Hall shenanigans and debates for the Affordable Care Act. Why the wild and incredible change? He's like a microcosm of the whole electorate...

    I have the perfect phrase for when the inevitable happens, and he realizes he's made a YUUUUGE mistake, and fugged up not only his own future, but that of his *WHOLE* family's;

So, now Trump's lawyer wants to postpone the trial b/c, you know, he's going to be becoming pres and all. Curiel said no, it looks like, and also said no to Trump's request that certain campaign remarks not be allowed into court. Curiel said both sides would be wise to settle the case. Of course that is what will happen. But in this case I really hope they do not agree to one of Trump's usual nondisclosure things--this info should all be out there in the public sphere.

After an African American was elected twice by white people, and there were no black people on either ballot this time around.

Well if we are going down the typical liberal race card blame game, it sure will be interesting to see the black turnout on this election.

All good Americans who realized how dangerous a Trump presidency would be should have voted for his opponent, Hillary Clinton. They should not have stayed home or wasted their votes on a third party candidate or a dead gorilla. Votes are sacred. The slope this country is on is no longer even slippery, it's a straight drop down to the bottom.

I was very glad to see Michael Moore on TV again tonight and then to see that in addition to his 5 points of yesterday there are 7 more. Great list, and I love the first point of the seven--I love this coming out as the protests are going on a second night--although all are so important. I mean, come on man, as Obama would say--what is up with the lack of action in Flint, Pres?

Black turnout was lower than in the Obama races, but it was still good and even saved Hillary in some parts. Blacks in NC really turned out--NC, though, cut way back on the number of polling places and they and other states played games with voter IDs. It's not up to blacks to save the Dem nominee. The percentage of whites in this country far outnumbers that of blacks. There are plenty of Dem whites. Plenty who f'ing didn't vote. Yes, whites have to take on most of the blame.

It's starting already, Trump can't go to court because he's too busy (in so many words)

    USA Today:
Donald Trump seeks to delay trial until after inauguration

SAN DIEGO – President-elect Donald Trump wants to delay a federal fraud trial he faces here Nov. 28 until after his inauguration in January, his attorney told a judge on Thursday, two days after Trump was elected president.

When the judge asked why, Trump's attorney, Daniel Petrocelli, summed it up like this:

"In view of Mr. Trump’s election as President of the United States, your honor."....

"....Donald Trump seeks to delay trial until after inauguration..." (now that it's after the inauguration he has another excuse)

"....Trump wanted to testify in person before his election as president...." (didn't he delay it?)

"...Petrocelli also questioned whether Trump actually would be available to testify in court as a sitting president..." (sounds like Trump is finding excuses not to go?)

"....questioned whether Trump actually would be available to testify in court as a sitting president. He said never has there been a case in the history of the United States in which a president had to come into court to testify in a trial as a defendant...." (all previous presidential candidates showed their taxes and it didn't bother him to break that tradition)

"....Petrocelli said Trump wants to be vindicated in this case and that it would be to his disadvantage to not attend the trial in person...."

Obamas skip traditional first couples photo with the Trumps
By Jackie Salo November 10, 2016

The Obamas may have been cordial hosts to the Trumps at the White House on Thursday, but they skipped one long-standing tradition for current and future first couples.

There is a customary photo-op of the couples outside the south entrance of the White House, which the president and his wife appeared to have canceled, according to the Wall Street Journal.

After the 2008 election, President Barack Obama and the first lady stood for photos with President George W. Bush and first lady Laura Bush at the White House....

I was so glad not to see any pics today other than the one of BO and Trump sitting and the one of MO and Melania. No way in hell should the Obamas have had to welcome those two with handshakes and possibly air kisses and hugs. MO knows Trump is an assaulter of women--why should any woman have to be in physical contact with him! And she stood up for her man. No way, after what Trump did to her husband, and also her whole family, with the birtherism crap would she put up with giving that asshole the traditional welcome. I think she laid down the law when she and BO were talking about how they were going to handle the visit. I think they then let Trump know that they were not going the traditional route and Trump knew he'd better not have cameras there.

Barack and Michelle Obama Did Not Cancel First Couples' Photo Op With Donald and Melania Trump

UPDATE, 4:10 p.m. ET: President Barack Obama and wife Michelle Obama did not cancel a first couples' photo op with President-elect Donald Trump and soon-to-be First Lady Melania Trump, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest confirms.

Earnest denied a report published by the Wall Street Journal during a press conference held hours after Barack and Donald had a Thursday, November 7, meeting at the White House in Washington, D.C. Earnest told reporters that the first couples' photo was “lower in priority” than the photo op of Barack and Donald inside the Oval Officesked if the photo didn't happen because of Michelle, Earnest replied: “Absolutely not. In fact, I'm not aware the first lady's office was consulted about the press arrangements about today.”

We Democrats need to do some serious reflection on our loss. I believe we are the reason for the loss.

For most of my life, the Democratic Party was the go to party for blue collar workers. The Drywaller, the roofer, the plumber, the auto worker, etc...

The Democratic Party didn't even try to keep these voters. The Party seemed more interested in the college educated than the working man. Hillary campaigned on helping young folks with college. Well, how about those who don't go to college?

The backbone of the Democratic Party was once blue collar workers. And now people are blaming them for Trump. Democrats failed this group of people.
They voted for Trump and now Trump is the President Elect.

Non college educated white males left the Democrats because the Democrats didn't give them any reason to stay.
