46% of Trump voters believe that Hillary Clinton is involved in a child sex ring.

Courtesy of New York Daily News:

Nearly half of all Donald Trump voters believe a widely debunked conspiracy theory claiming that Hillary Clinton is involved in a child sex ring run out of a popular Washington, D.C. pizzeria, a recent poll suggests.

The Economist/YouGov poll released Tuesday shows that a staggering 46% of Trump voters believe the so-called “Pizzagate” conspiracy, which began circulating on obscure sites like 4chan and Reddit ahead of Election Day before spurring controversy on Twitter and Facebook.

Now remember this whole thing was based on internet cyber sleuths taking a bunch of things out of context from those Podesta e-mails, and creating a completely ridiculous conspiracy theory that apparently fooled a number of people into believing that the DNC was literally running a child sex shop out of a DC pizzeria.

Interestingly enough a full 80% of Trump voters however REFUSE to believe that the intelligence communities assertion that Russia meddled in our election process is accurate.

Well that is certainly telling now isn't it?

By the way one of the main disseminators of that Pizzagate conspiracy theory was Alex Jones, who now also suggests that Carry Fisher was killed in order to improve her book sales, just like he believes that Joan Rivers was killed for outing Michelle Obama as a transsexual.

This is who the Trump supporters go to for their "facts."

Sad to see a great nation come to this. So many people walking around with malfunctioning brains. Don't ever remember a time when sheer ignorance was embraced and considered to be a valued trait by such a large segment of the population. How has this happened?

Because our educational system has faltered horribly is one of the reasons (due to Republicans)!

We have many idiots residing within our country and the majority of them supported Trump.

They are going to be in for such a rude awakening when their ruler betrays them in 2017! Too bad that Trump's doings (and the majority Republican U.S. Congress) will affect us all!

Idiots like Trump voters can't sort out asinine and absurd conspiracies from reality. It's just too complicated for them. They let 'oracles' like Alex Jones and investigative 'news' organizations like Fox keep them up to date on what is happening.

David Fahrenthold tells the behind-the-scenes story of his year covering Trump

“Arnold and Tim, if you’d come up, we’re going to give you a nice, beautiful check,” Donald Trump said. He held up an oversize check, the kind they give to people who win golf tournaments. It was for $100,000. In the top-left corner the check said: “The Donald J. Trump Foundation.”

Along the bottom, it had the slogan of Trump’s presidential campaign: “Make America Great Again.”

    This was in February.

    The beginning of it.

Trump was in Waterloo, Iowa, for a caucus-day rally at the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center — named for five local siblings who had been assigned to the same Navy cruiser in World War II. They all died when the ship went down at Guadalcanal.

Trump had stopped his rally to do something presidential candidates don’t normally do. He was giving away money.

Arnold and Tim, whom he had called to the stage, were from a local veterans group. Although their big check had Trump’s name on it, it wasn’t actually Trump’s money. Instead, the cash had been raised from other donors a few days earlier, at a televised fundraiser that Trump had held while he skipped a GOP debate because of a feud with Fox News.

Trump said he had raised $6 million that night, including a $1 million gift from his own pocket. Now Trump was giving it, a little at a time, to charities in the towns where he held campaign events.

“See you in the White House,” one of the men said to Trump, leaving the stage with this check that married a nonprofit’s name and a campaign’s slogan.

“He said, ‘We’ll see you in the White House,’ ” Trump repeated to the crowd. “That’s nice.”

    After that, Trump lost Iowa.

    He won New Hampshire.

Then he stopped giving away money.

But as far as I could tell, just over $1.1 million had been given away. Far less than what Trump said he raised. And there was no sign of the $1 million Trump had promised from his own pocket.

So what happened to the rest of the money?

It sounded like an easy question that the Trump campaign could answer quickly. I thought I’d be through with the story in a day or two.

    I was wrong.

"On the phone, I asked Trump: Would you really have given this money away if I hadn’t been asking about it?
      “You’re really a nasty guy.”
"Trump said. “I have never received such bad publicity for doing such a good job.”

“I shot myself in the eye with a glitter gun,”
Then:"Why don’t you go beyond Trump’s promises to give to veterans, he said, and look at Trump’s giving to charity, period?"
"Those two sources told two very different stories. using Twitter — to try to prove Trump right.BUT>"we had discovered Trump doing exactly what the LAW said he couldn’t do: using his charity’s money to decorate HIS resort."
      Regarding the tape:
" the editors weren’t sure people would be able to guess right away what “p----” was. They added a letter at the end: “p---y.”
Other words required a ruling from the bosses.
“Go find out about ‘tits’!” I heard one editor tell another, while the story was being edited — Trump had used the word in criticizing a woman’s appearance. The second editor left to find a higher-ranking editor who could make a ruling. “ ‘Tits’ is all right,” "
THIS> published at 4:02 p.m. It became the MOST-read story of all time on The Post’s website"
" The point was to tell readers the facts about this man running for president. How reliable was he at keeping promises? How much moral responsibility did he feel to help those less fortunate than he?" “He’s a man who operates inside a tiny bubble that never extends beyond what he believes is his self-interest.”
“If your worldview is only you — if all you’re seeing is a mirror — then there’s nobody to give money to,” Schwartz said. “Except yourself.”

Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell are heading for a showdown over Donald Trump's cabinet.

Schumer, who will become Senate minority leader next week, has privately indicated to McConnell that Democrats may not be willing to go along with quick confirmations for Trump's nominees if the Senate majority leader’s caucus doesn’t meet several demands, according to sources in both parties familiar with the matter. Schumer is insisting on certain financial disclosures from Trump's picks as well as an assurance on the timing and length of hearings.

Get ready, Seniors, you're about to be fiscally raped.

The Republican plot to devour retirees' nest eggs

...Key to this practice is something called "balance billing," and it's why the American Medical Association is strongly supporting Donald Trump's pick of Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.) to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, which oversees Medicare. Balance billing is forbidden for Medicare enrollees, but Price wants to allow it — thus allowing doctors and hospitals to devour the nest eggs of thousands of American seniors.

This news has me really concerned - as a senior citizen. It offers a sop to hospitals because it means they can charge whatever they want because the old folks will simply have to fork over every cent they have. Remember this will be after the GOP guts Social Security and destroys Medicare. Price is a Koch brothers' dream, the pure embodiment of the Tea Party.

When I see my physician for my last ever annual exam in late January, I plan to tell her that I appreciate having had annual physical exams but I won't do it in the future if my insurance won't pay for it. (Annual exams became covered by Medicare after President Obama took office; before then, Medicare paid for one comprehensive medical examination for senior citizens. After that, you were on your own if you needed an annual physical exam.) Doctors need to know what a disaster they've helped create by supporting the GOP so solidly all these years. They will be losing most of their patients, unless they're pediatricians.

You're talking about less than 10% of the country.

Compared to those that don't believe in evolution, that's small.

Actually, Mia, your numbers are off a little. Around 47% of the country didn't even vote. That, of course, means that even if exactly half of those who did vote actually cast votes for him (which we know didn't happen), he garnered only around 25% of the qualified voters in this country. Deduct a few percentage points for the other two runners and you still end up with over 20%.

  27. the level of ignorance in this country is staggering. i like to hope that the kids in grammar and high school now are getting a better education, but really, how much has the public school system improved? esp with its requirements and obsession with standardised testing, those administrators who make the curriculum and the rules about each state's educational requirements are limiting students as well as teachers from doing the very work in the classroom that they should be doing. the public school system has one real function - to make educated american citizens and voters, people who will uphold the constitution for yet another generation. i went all through catholic school for a number of reasons, so i can only speak to what i have learned of public school, and not what i have directly experienced. it's so distressing to hear american voters interviewed and in so doing showing their total ignorance of civics, american history, reading comprehension and vocabulary, simple maths... i could go on but i think you get the idea. these are the people taking in and sharing fake news, because they don't have enough of an education to tell them, no that story is not possibly true. or to question such a story and have an idea how to vet it. i don't like to believe we are this ignorant in this country, but i saw enough interviews and documentaries and even Facebook channels exploring american ignorance for me to say i don't trust my fellow americans (some of them) to vote intelligently, in a way that will uphold the constitution. the dumbing down of america makes it ripe for exploitation by the GOP, groups like the NRA, and snake oil salesmen like donald. education is a cornerstone, and ours is crumbling to some extent, and failing young people. i am thankful for every thoughtful, kind, intelligent, curious kid i meet. i did some tutoring of adults in college level essay-writing in which i worked one-on-one with students who were having problems with writing their essays. when there is no red tape, and you can teach and assist people freely, whilst encouraging them and challenging them to write and think better and more thoroughly than they ever thought they could write and think, the sky is truly the limit. i fell in love with teaching at this level because i felt the difference a little guidance made in a person's life, in their understanding of critical thinking, and of effective communication. best of all, they saw themselves as intelligent, curious people with something to say about a given assignment. i truly hope they were able to integrate that into their own lives and their personal outlook, and to bolster their self-esteem, and light a fire of curiosity that will keep them learning their whole lives. that was always my wish for them, just to facilitate that, then get out of the way and let them succeed at whatever they set their minds to. with so many people wanting to facilitate child learning and development in grammar and high schools, why can we not help kids to learn like this? other countries have great systems - finland's is one of the best. why do we not study them and implement what we can from their mode of teaching/learning, making it our own in the process? it might be too late for people of a certain age to become an educated voter, unless s/he wants to and puts in the effort. but why can we not hit the restart button on education for kids in school now? this ought to be a huge part of the democrats' platform going forward. it ought to be for the GOP, too, but i'm afraid the dumbing down of america has worked out so well for them, they want things to stay as they are, at least the majority. it's a shame, and a humiliation when our education system is compared to that of the rest of the world.

  28. The asshat that called Michelle Obama a gorilla is getting fired by the Buffalo school board.

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-ally-asked-resign-school-board-over-insults-163135483.html

"A co-chairman of Republican Donald Trump's New York presidential campaign who publicly insulted Democratic President Barack Obama and his wife has been asked to resign from a local school board.

Millionaire developer Carl Paladino told a Buffalo alternative newspaper last week he wanted to see Obama dead of mad cow disease and Michelle Obama living with a gorilla in Africa. He now says the comments weren't meant for publication but were nevertheless "inappropriate."

At a special meeting on Thursday the Buffalo school board voted 6-2 to ask the state education commissioner to remove Paladino if he doesn't resign within 24 hours.

Paladino didn't attend the meeting. He says he won't resign."

Got news for Paladino. Refusal won't make a difference. They're allowing you to save face. If you don't resign, you'll be publicly kicked off. Donald can't save you now.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/carl-paladino-resign_us_58644b7ce4b0eb5864881cff?section=us_politics

"The Buffalo Board of Education voted 6-2 Thursday to issue a stunning ultimatum to Carl Paladino, one of their own members who has been under national fire for his racially charged comments about the Obamas: Resign within 24 hours, or the board will petition the state to remove you. "

Does Paladino really think the state of New York is going to save his ass? Nope. They are going to side with the school board.

"In recent days, he’s faced intense criticism for his answers to a local newspaper’s questionnaire about what he would like to see happen in 2017. Paladino said he’d like President Barack Obama to die from mad cow disease and called first lady Michelle Obama a man who should go live with gorillas.

Buffalonians sick of Paladino making their city look bad mobilized Thursday, first for a protest downtown in Niagara Square and later at a special school board meeting at city hall.

The board met to consider a fiery resolution that said if Paladino did not resign within 24 hours, they would petition New York Education Commissioner MaryEllen Elia to remove him. Elia has so far declined to weigh in on the controversy.

The resolution, introduced by board member Hope Jay, called Paladino’s remarks about the Obamas “unambiguously racist, morally repugnant, flagrantly disrespectful, inflammatory and inexcusable.” It also said they reflected negatively on “the Buffalo Board of Education, the City of Buffalo and its leadership and its citizens, the State of New York, and every decent human being in America and abroad who has been shocked and offended by his words.”

When Jay read her resolution Thursday at the school board’s special session, the crowd gave her an enthusiastic standing ovation. "

And that's how it's going to go.

"“He’s like a test case,” said Ellie Dorritie, 74. “If we let him stay, if we give him a pass, if we even give him a week ― it’s like a green light for all the rest of the slime to come out of the sewer. And because we have the Trump administration coming up ― all of that garbage, flowing all around it ― it means that we’re going to give Trump a chance to do that. We’ve had Carl Paladino’s filth for so many years. It’s got to end now.”"

    We need more Ellies.
