Donald Trump chooses the freaking CEO of Exxon Mobil to be his Secretary of State. Gee, no way we will get into a war over oil now, right?

Seriously? He picked me? Get out of here.
Courtesy of The Daily Beast:

President-elect Donald Trump has chosen Exxon Mobil CEO Rex Tillerson as secretary of state, according to NBC News. The report cited two sources close to the situation as saying Tillerson had been confirmed as Trump’s pick after earlier being floated as a top choice. It was also reportedly “very likely” that Tillerson, who has no experience in government, would be paired with former U.N. ambassador John Bolton as deputy secretary of state, NBC News reported. Tillerson has strong ties to Moscow, having secured a 2011 deal with the Kremlin to access Arctic resources in Russia. That deal was blocked, however, when U.S. sanctions against Russia came into effect for its occupation of Crimea and aggression in eastern Ukraine. Tillerson was outspoken in his criticism of the sanctions for the “broad collateral damage” they resulted in.

Great a pro-Russian anti-environmentalist, sounds like the perfect guy to help completely screw up this country's future.

And with freaking John "I hate the UN" Bolton as his deputy secretary it appears that Trump didn't even bother to try and leave any illusion that he was really ever interested in "draining the swamp."

An interesting factoid, Tillerson has NEVER worked anywhere except Exxon, where he was first hired in 1975.

So you can see that he is simply brimming over with a lack of experience.

I can't believe I am saying this out loud, but I actually cannot imagine that giving Sarah Palin this position could have really been any worse.

Either way you are getting a tragically unqualified person, who hates the planet earth, and thinks constantly raping it is a sign of affection.

Why not have another gazillionaire in Trump's version of a government! It should please all those anti-elitist dullards who voted for him. What I worry about is that this guy, in addition to being clueless about foreign policy and diplomacy, is much too friendly with Russia, a foreign power we have always (and deservedly so) been very wary of. Imagine the pillow talk among Trump, Tillerson and their best buddy, Vladimir Putin! No more national security for the US; we'll just rely on Russia. Pretty scary.

And I wonder where this case is going w/ the NY Supreme Court's demand for his records as they investigate climate change fraud:

Sorry to say, Water Protectors you're screwed. Too many cabinet members with some type of tie to oil.

  5. What did I say? He'd make Romney publicly grovel then choose someone else.

This is only the last in a long line of inexperienced billionaires he's paying back for their support.

    Mussolini said it:

"Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power." - Benito Mussolini.

I'll bet he told all of them they could keep their businesses and their stock portfolios too. He'd make sure they didn't need to divest or get a blind trust.

Here it is again. Spread it around.

    Danger signs of fascism:
    1. Powerful and continuing expressions of nationalism.
    2. Disdain for the importance of human rights.
    3. Identification of enemies/scapegoats as a unifying cause.
    4. The supremacy of the military/avid militarism.
    5. Rampant sexism.
    6. A controlled mass media.
    7. Obsession with national security.
    8. Religion and ruling elite tied together.
    9. Power of corporations protected.
    10. Power of labor suppressed or eliminated.
    11. Disdain and suppression of intellectuals and the arts.
    12. Obsession with crime and punishment.
    13. Rampant cronyism and corruption.
    14. Fraudulent elections.

"He already has ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin as well, after representing the company's interests in Russia during the Boris Yeltsin administration.

In 2013, the Kremlin bestowed the country's Order of Friendship honor on Tillerson."

Yeah, Trump is rubbing eveyrone's noses in his crap now. This is a "Just try and stop me."

Sarah Palin is no fan of Tillerson so this should be good.

"McMorris Rodgers was a co-sponsor of a 2011 bill that would have sold off 3 million acres of public lands.

Environmental groups have criticized McMorris Rodgers, saying she has not supported protecting public lands

“In Congress, Rep. McMorris Rodgers has consistently voted to prioritize drilling on our public lands and waters, including in sensitive areas like the Arctic, and even to open up our public lands for sale to the highest bidder,” said League of Conservation Voters President Gene Karpinski in a statement."

And let us not forget that the point of a cabinet is to have a civilian government.

I am appalled at Trump's Cabinet of Deplorables. His admin will rape and pillage all our remaining natural resources at the expense of the ecosystems we all rely on: clean water and air. Take away the ACA and SS and Medicare/aid and the American citizens will just die off. Except for these gazillianaires who can just move to some pristine place THEY can call home.

This is truly horrible. I fear for our future.

Anything that a rancher considers annoying will be gone.

Those bison in Yellowstone? Gone. Oh, they might "infect" the cattle.

If any bird, reptile or animal needs a protected habitat, they're gone.

These fucking Deplorables are going to sell off our protected Federal lands and lease more. We'll have drilling at the Grand Canyon, clear cutting in Yosemite.

They are going to rape our country.

Well, this choice just goes to show that we were all wrong.

Many of us suspected that Trump would essentially turn over the day-to-day governing of the country to Mike Pence after the inauguration so he didn't have to be bothered with the actual boring responsibilities of the job.

Turns out he's planning to turn it directly over to his BFF Putin and skip the middleman.

Trump has said a full f-you to everyone. He can still say his crap about being a man of the people and they believe him right now (well, the dolts who are all for no more regulations, who want to be free to kill and pollute freely, are not included here), but he has said an f-you to everyone. And he loves the head games. Loves every last one of them, like when he showed up for Ivanka's meeting with Gore and then the next day hired a guy who is against all protections of the environment.

I will continue to wish for Trump to have a massive coronary. His life is so destructive to the country and world. I'm not speaking in anger or exaggeration when I say that I hope he has a heart attack.

I am not exagerrating when I express my hopes for a quick and deadly end to the Trump nightmare. Tillerson has received the Order of Friendship from Putin which is the Russian equivalent to our Congressional Medal of Freedom. I am a gay man who seriously fears for my life and freedoms once these miserable humans take office. I speak passable German and Spanish and could emigrate to another country but I want to stay here with my family and partner, hopefully marry some day and have a family of my own. The feature is looking bleaker and bleaker with each passing day. I have not been to this site in a long time as I disagree with the celebration of a confirmed homophobe like Levi Johnston and all of the praise he gets. This place often has good articles and comments but there is much hypocrisy as well. I am not a Palin fan and have never voted Republican in over ten years of voting in every election. But even Palin would have been a better Cabinet choice than the miscreants that Trump has picked thus far.

What most of us suspected all along.

"An important part of the CIA’s explosive conclusion is this chilling fact: Russia hacked the Republican National Committee but didn’t leak any of those emails to Wikileaks, preferring to only distribute 200 Republican emails to DCleaks.com and sitting on the rest."

After the Republicans destroy every service that the government provides to its citizens - Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, ACA, SNAP, public education, unions, the EPA, and all financial protections - and sell off every inch of public property to those who want to exploit it, Trump is going to hand over what's left of our country to Russia.

Don't doubt that a lot of dirt that the GOP doesn't want to be made public is being used as blackmail in exchange for the keys to our government. This is truly becoming terrifying.

And it made me sick the other day when he was asked about the Time cover that said "President of the Divided States of America" and he claimed he had nothing to do with any division. He either didn't get why the mag had such words on the cover or he was playing coy. Either way, it was unacceptable.
