Fox News faces yet another lawsuit claiming that Roger Ailes sexually harassed a female reporter.

Courtesy of the New York Times:

On Tuesday, Lidia Curanaj, now a Fox 5 reporter whose legal name is Lidija Ujkic, filed a 28-page discrimination and hostile work environment suit against the network’s parent company, in which she said Mr. Ailes harassed her when she was applying for a job at Fox News.

According to the complaint, Mr. Ailes asked her to stand up and turn around during a one-on-one interview, so that he could “see [her] from behind.”

“I like what I see,” Mr. Ailes then said, the suit asserts. Ms. Curanaj left the interview thinking she would land a job offer, according to the suit.

Mr. Ailes had met Ms. Curanaj at a dinner in February 2011 that she attended with Gregory R. Ball, a New York state senator whom Ms. Curanaj had dated. Mr. Ailes brought her into the network for the interview about three months later.

After his private meeting with Ms. Curanaj, Mr. Ailes contacted Mr. Ball and asked him, “How’s the sex?” and whether she “put out” sexually, according to the suit. Mr. Ball described Ms. Curanaj as a “very nice girl,” signaling that she would not provide sexual favors to Mr. Ailes.

Shortly after, Ms. Curanaj received a call from Mr. Ailes, who told her that she was not ready for Fox News and that she instead should contact Fox’s local stations, she says in the suit. Ms. Curanaj believed that she did not “receive the position at F.N.C. because Ailes determined that she would not submit to him sexually,” the suit states.

Well that kind of raises a question or two.

If this Curanaj person was rejected simply because Ailes did not think she would submit to him sexually, what does that say about all of the female reporters who DID get the job?

Also kind of makes one wonder how Sarah Palin got that million dollar a year contract with Fox.

Just saying.

This is just beyond gross. I literally have no words.

Good for these women for fighting back.

So my question remains: why were these women so desperate to work at a place run by a sexual predator? There are at least three or four news stations in every freakin' town. Why were they so willing to suck him off when they re all obviously nice looking, mostly educated women? Seems to me they could have gotten jobs elsewhere. Yes, he is a pig, but people can not abuse you without your permission.
(I realize I will be criticized over this, but I am in a verbally abusive relationship, and have been for 40 years, so I know what I'm saying. I decided long ago that I was better off staying than leaving. Had he been physically abusive, I would hope I;d have had the courage to leave. My point is, these women knew going IN what the price was to play, and Kelly and the rest joined up.)

Why should they have to pay any price?
The workplace rules needs to change, and seal predation and abuse should not limit people trying to work.
Deciding to stay in a verbally abusive personal relationship is not directly, ando only extremely indirectly, related to this issue. Why are you bringing it up?

Yes people most certainly CAN abuse you without your permission, 4:58!!!

I survived being beaten and sexually abused by my mother's husband. The abuse started when I was in diapers and continued until I was in my teens.
I was kept very ignorant of what proper healthy sexuality was, (being raised in a fundie xtian house) or what legal protections kids had then from this horror. I was made to believe it was all my fault, he was an evil genius and his wife turned a blind eye since he was the God of the household.

Do you think i GAVE my torturer permission to rape my body for years?

Think before you 'speak', please. I wonder if some of those women who submitted to Ailes had been sexually abused as children, by someone in direct authority over them. Evn with therapy, the horror show of dysfunctional cycles in these individuals' lives often continues. The survivors often see themselves as a physical commodity, and worthless to boot.

I do not want to berate you: I just want to show you another side of life, one that is all to common and hidden from view.

One in three girls in this country have been sexually abused, and one in five boys. That statistic is probably low, as most do not report it, or admit it later on.

The sexual abuse of children causes lifelong pain, excruciating pain. I feel most comfortable completely alone, in complete silence. I do not want to be touched by anyone. Only when those conditions are met, do I feel safe.
It's really not healthy but it's what it takes to give me peace.

6:50 I feel badly for you. May you have peace. Bestow your knowledge to others to find some hope. You are right on so many levels. I am sorry that you had to go through such horror. I cried for you today.

OMG....let's hope there is no sex tape of sarah making out with ailes....that would literally classify as a horror flick!

Seriously, I didn't think it was possible these days for this level of harassment to continue....but it does.

To me, Ailes is no better or different than a slug, whose main driving force is the act of reproduction. It is the only thing that appears to motivate him.

Still, he has some capacity for higher level thought and has managed to create a blight on society that will take years to undo.

    1. I think it was a very intelligent thing to do.

The only hope for this country is for somebody with a brain to start giving Trump advice to which he will listen and respond.

His kids should have been out playing or eating ice cream.

    4. Except he won't listen or respond to them.

He's just feeling them out for how much he can get away with and how much push back he can expect. I imagine he's getting ready to eliminate Net Neutrality, plus he wants to increase the ability to hack and spy on every day citizens. After all, he needs to be able to make a call and get dirt on his enemies. You know, Alec Baldwin, Bill Maher, Rosie O'Donnell...

Sounds like a bullshit lawsuit fishing for money now that he is out of his position. He never propositioned her directly from what is written above, and she was never formally offered a job.

The man is a serial sexual predator like our president

😀 But what is funny is this guy didn't want SARAH PALIN sexually or for intelligence ... Did he tell her "Get the fu_k out of here you dumb c___!"?

I think Ailes either assaulted her or came very close and that's why she had the home studio instead of flying to New York.

Ailes, Trump, and the dire message this election sends to America’s women

Trump surrounds himself with powerful men who treat women badly.

Another woman has come forward to say that she was sexually harassed by former Fox News chairman Roger Ailes, who was closely tied with President-elect Donald Trump during his campaign.

Now that Trump has won the White House, Curanaj’s allegations are a fresh reminder that the future President of the United States and the men he surrounds himself with have collectively been accused of sexist abuse by scores of women — and more women are still coming forward.
