Again.
As if to underline the very points that Keith makes in that diatribe, here is Vladimir Putin talking about how anxious he is to begin working with our new president:
Putin said Russia is looking forward to mending ties with the US after president-elect Donald Trump takes office in January.
"We are ready for cooperation with the new American administration," he said.
"It's important to normalise and develop our bilateral ties on an equal and mutually beneficial basis. We share responsibility for ensuring global security and stability and strengthening the non-proliferation regime."
Well of course looking forward to "mending ties" now that he has his puppet in place and knows that any deals he reaches with America will benefit Russia far more than they will benefit America.
Do any of you remember those old spy movies where the government head was replaced with a guy who had been trained by an enemy state to secretly take over and undermine their country?
Remember how we used to think that was far fetched and a little ridiculous?
Those were the days weren't they?
Let's join the resistance with Keith.

Of course they are. McConnell became a millionaire thanks to the insurance industry to name only one of them. Delete8:33am
DeleteThat's an absolutely ridiculous statement. However I can see how minorities would have gravitated towards the Democratic Party this election cycle.
If I was a Latino I'd be a bit turned off by the candidate, and subsequently his party, when I heard him call Mexican people "murderers and rapists".
If I was African American I'd be wary of lending my support to the candidate that is endorsed by David Duke and the KKK.
These seem like very valid reasons to align with the Democratic Party.

DeleteMore minorities voted for the Democratic party.
That is because the Trumpist racist comments were heard. Racists can be identified everywhere now because the election from the electoral college; not the popular vote, gives the racists permission to bully and threaten.

Delete“The bill has a giveaway to the gun lobby, cuts Medicare funding, raids the Affordable Care Act, takes health care dollars that should have gone to Puerto Rico and makes it harder for people with disabilities to get Medicaid services.”
ReplyDeleteSenator Warren did say that not everything in the bill is horrible, but only because Republicans are desperate to “buy Democratic votes. If this bill becomes law there is no question it will contain some real legislative accomplishments, but I cannot vote for this bill. I will fight it because I know the difference between compromise and extortion.”
The uphill battle for Warren and Democrats not in thrall to the gun or pharmaceutical industry is primarily one of appearance; no Democrat or Republican wants to be seen opposing a “21st Century [cancer] Cures Act” no matter how dangerous it is for consumers and patients.
Next week the early Christmas present to the pharmaceutical industry goes before the Republican-controlled Senate where Elizabeth Warren already revealed she is not looking the other way or voting for it. If Senator Warren has any success in blocking the bill in the Senate, something looking unlikely, it may be the last real legislative battle Democrats get to participate in.
http://www.politicususa.com/2016/12/02/elizabeth-warren-battles-big-pharma-protect-american-lives.html
I found this story to be particularly offensive. While I think that all bills going through Congress should pertain to the subject at hand, I think it is especially true with this one. Most Americans have been somehow touched by cancer: if not themselves, then someone in the family or a friend or a relative of a friend. To add gifts to big pharma, the gun lobby, and deep slashes to Medicare, the ACA and Medicaid means adding things that could never be passed independently because WE THE PEOPLE would not approve them.

Kellyanne Conway melts down after Clinton staffer calls out Trump’s courting of ‘white supremacists’

YOU HAVE HURT KELLYANNE CONWAY’S FEELINGS!
DeleteOh goodness gracious, somebody doesn’t like being called on her shit, and that somebody is named Kellyanne Conway. Fresh off essentially telling a female child to fuck off because the kid dared to ask what it’s like for a woman to work for a guy who professes his love for non-consensual pussy-grabbing, and also maybe groped a lot of women, Conway went to a forum at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, a post mortem of the 2016 election featuring the people who ran the various campaigns, and shit got REAL:

The strangest criticism of the media, however, was by Trump’s former campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski.
DeleteHis complaint: Journalists accurately reported what Trump said.
“This is the problem with the media. You guys took everything that Donald Trump said so literally,” Lewandowski said. “The American people didn’t. They understood it. They understood that sometimes — when you have a conversation with people, whether it’s around the dinner table or at a bar — you’re going to say things, and sometimes you don’t have all the facts to back it up.”

His passion is inspiring. We cannot stick our heads in the sand and say, Oh, he's exaggerating, oh, it can't happen here. I wish more of the media would be as outraged, and some actually are becoming so. We need to be afraid, but our fear needs to be targeted toward action. Here's that tired old quote: "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good (wo)men to do nothing." Don't quite know what to do yet, but I can't just sit still for the next four years and see my country raped and pillaged.

DeleteThe president-elect’s man is a kind of political John the BaptisT>In Bannon’s dark an apocalyptic world, where the heroes are few and the stakes are high, we’ve only a cadre of mavericks and truth tellers to protect us. They include Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich and Lou Dobbs and Michele Bachmann. An important one is Robertson, the God-fearin,’ gun-totin’ patriarch of the clan; he’s the star of Bannon’s most recent film, “Torchbearer.” Add a little economic anxiety and anti-elitism (2010’s “Generation Zero,” which tracks the origins of the 2008 financial crisis back to Woodstock and the “narcissism of the hippies”). Mix it with a glowing appraisal of the Tea Party (2010’s “Battle for America,” which covers the rise of the Tea Party movement, 2010’s “Fire From the Heartland,” which follows “The Undefeated,” the 2011 work that examines Sarah Palin’s career). Long before Trump announced his 2016 campaign, Bannon was staking out the political terrain that would later become the familiar geography of his boss’s presidential bid."in Bannon’s filmic world, there are no shades of gray, only black and white, sinners and saints, demons and angels.“We priss around and parade our perversion; it’s being done in front of our very eyes. Depravity, literally. We are crutch-driven animals following our instincts.”“Murder is mainstream, we slaughter our own children,”
ReplyDelete" “The Hope & The Change,” Sean Hannity “the most powerful documentary I’ve ever seen in my life.”
Four documentaries I brainstormed excuses to email my editor, begging off the assignment. But I was too far down the rabbit hole to stop.
In Sarah Palin.“The Undefeated,” it’s a passage from the Gospel of Matthew: “Every good tree bringeth forth good fruit. But a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit … by their fruits ye shall know them.” One-minute and 29 seconds into the documentary, we see images of cats licking themselves, apropos of nothing. Not 20 seconds later, a shadowy figure readies a handgun in front of a television screen blasting black and white static. a man handles a knife. Later, when we hear about how the left is attacking Palin, we see a door open in a bomber plane, and, is that a bevy of bombs falling out of the sky? Yes. Minutes later there is footage of a shark attack. It was, in a word, disorienting. In Palin, Bannon found his first vessel: a politician who could bind together the diverse strands of his political philosophy—a missionary missile aimed straight at secularization and crony capitalism. You learn more about the inner workings of Alaska’s budget process than you ever wanted to know. This movie was one of the few to be reviewed in the mainstream press, and not too kindly: “Its tone is an excruciating combination of bombast and whining,”
"out of the crowd comes this, like, bear [Breitbart] who’s squeezing me like my head’s going to blow up and saying how we’ve gotta take back the culture.”
Bannon boasted, “I’m the guy pushing a trillion-dollar infrastructure plan. With negative interest rates throughout the world, it’s the greatest opportunity to rebuild everything. Shipyards, iron works, get them all jacked up. We’re just going to throw it up against the wall and see if it sticks. It will be as exciting as the 1930s, greater than the Reagan revolution—conservatives, plus populists, in an economic nationalist movement.”“I’ve studied documentarians extensively to come up with my own in-house style. I’m a student of Michael Moore’s films, of Eisenstein, Riefenstahl. Leave the politics aside, you have to learn from those past masters on how they were trying to communicate their ideas.”In Trump, Bannon has perhaps finally found the subject of his magnum opus, his greatest muse since Palin." his shot at a wider audience, “the packs” he once shrugged off: It’s all of us."

There are too many connections not to raise red flags and I predict there might just be a major bombshell coming, this is far from over. The Russians do not play, and I think since Trump has been doing business in Russia and trying to put a hotel in Moscow for years, it's not a stretch to think some Russian Oligarchs have their hooks in Trump. The Russian mob makes Putin look like a Teddy Bear, Trump had no problem dealing with criminals in NY and Jersey so... Just sayin....

On January 14, 2016, Ed Schultz announced he would start hosting The News with Ed Schultz on RT America, a cable news channel funded by the Russian government.[39][40] Since then Schultz, who was formerly very critical of Russian president Vladimir Putin, has expressed support for Putin and for Russian policies. Formerly highly critical of Donald Trump, he now praises him and criticizes Hillary Clinton.[41]

DeleteI did not realize that Ed had gone over to RT. I never would have thought that he would do that as he lives in an area that would maybe lynch him for that very caper. Detroit Lakes MN.
However, that area went for Trump this year and traditionally vote Democrat so this is something I did not see coming. Most around the Fargo-Moorhead area respect him for his positive switch to liberalism from a staunch Republican years ago.
I was thinking of the old Ed on MSNBC when I wrote that comment and was very wrong.
My husband knew him when he beat his first wife in Fargo as they both worked at the same television station.
At that point in time, he turned Dem and married again and was eventually picked up nationally.
Moral of the story: Never trust a guy who abuses women. That applies to both Ed and Trump.
Also, never comment on a guy you have not actively read for awhile.

Obama Blows Away Trump By Adding 178 Carrier Deals To The Economy In November
ReplyDeleteThe economic growth under President Obama is the result of government working for the people. Trump’s Carrier deal is the byproduct of government working for corporations.
Many Americans who have taken the progress made under President Obama for granted are going to get an immediate shock when the Trumpanomics starts hitting them in the wallet. Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it, and enough voters didn’t remember the lessons from Bush’s Great Recession.

Trump’s Breezy Calls to World Leaders Leave Diplomats Aghast
ReplyDelete...In a remarkably candid readout of the phone call, the Pakistani government said Mr. Trump had told Mr. Sharif that he was “a terrific guy” who made him feel as though “I’m talking to a person I have known for long.” He described Pakistanis as “one of the most intelligent people.” When Mr. Sharif invited him to visit Pakistan, the president-elect replied that he would “love to come to a fantastic country, fantastic place of fantastic people.”
...The breezy tone of the readout left diplomats in Washington slack-jawed, with some initially assuming it was a parody. In particular, they zeroed in on Mr. Trump’s offer to Mr. Sharif “to play any role you want me to play to address and find solutions to the country’s problems.”

“I write to urge your renewed personal attention to the pressing issues surrounding the Dakota Access Pipeline,” he wrote in a letter to Obama Wednesday. “There have been far too many dangerous violent confrontations between protestors and state and local law enforcement, with serious injuries resulting.”"
"Udall called the police at Standing Rock “overly militarized.” Their use of rubber bullets and water cannons appears to “violate civil rights,” he added.
The Standing Rock Sioux asked the Department of Justice to investigate potential civil rights violations by law enforcement in October, but the department has not taken action to look into this request so far."
