New website targets college professors that they feel are advancing "leftist propaganda." Welcome to Donald Trump's America.

Courtesy of New York Times:

A new website that accuses nearly 200 college professors of advancing “leftist propaganda in the classroom” and discriminating against conservative students has been criticized as a threat to academic freedom.

The site, Professor Watchlist, which first appeared Nov. 21, says it names those instructors who “advance a radical agenda in lecture halls.”

“We aim to post professors who have records of targeting students for their viewpoints, forcing students to adopt a certain perspective, and/or abuse or harm students in any way for standing up for their beliefs,” wrote Matt Lamb, an organizer of the site.

The Professor Watchlist is a project of Turning Point USA, a nonprofit organization that says its mission is to educate students about “true free market values.” Charlie Kirk, its founder and executive director, wrote in a blog post that “it’s no secret that some of America’s college professors are totally out of line” and that it was time to expose them.

Yep a website that targets teachers for teaching facts, instead of upholding "conservative values."

Nothing troubling about that, right?

Why do I get the feeling that this is just the beginning?

I really thought that I couldn't disrespect anyone more than Sarah Palin but I must give Colonel Tiny Fingers credit - I've come to despise him even more.

And people scoff at the comparison between Germany under Hitler and Amerika under Trump. I think there were people who didn't flee Germany who didn't believe it would be that bad either.

This was the target of the best Twitter troll effort a week or so back. People were reporting Professor Quirrell for letting trolls loose in Hogwarts, reporting a Galilean professor who was gaining disciples by teaching justice to the poor, etc. It was amazing. There were so many responses that the servers temporarily crashed.

Somebody please explain how Christians are different than other extremists who push their beliefs, values and behavior on others?

Gee, “We aim to post professors who have records of targeting students for their viewpoints, forcing students to adopt a certain perspective, and/or abuse or harm students in any way for standing up for their beliefs,” wrote Matt Lamb, an organizer of the site. " That sounds like exactly what the fundie colleges do, doesn't it? Not to mention the evangelical churches threatening their members if they vote liberal (I mean, vote for human rights, equality, and Jesus' teachings.)
These guys are masters at projection and propaganda. It is terrifying.

There is no difference. I have never seen such a band of liars, thieves, swindlers, fakers and manipulators as so called christians.

How big should that pit be? Big enough to hold how many lions? Hopefully Uday and Pusay will be the first lion food. Seems fair.

"What should be the penalty for collusion with a hostile foreign power to interfere with America’s government? his 2nd Amendment cohort could regulate the wrong leader who might nominate the wrong Supreme Court justice; something tantamount to calling for rebellion against the government."{Drumpf conspired with China to kill thousands of rust belt}Greed, by the way, that earned him millions he did not pay taxes on and clearly helped China nearly wipe out America’s aluminum industry. Trump’s supporters will say he is a good businessman, and although it is true that raping American jobs and aiding a foreign nation’s industrial complex is not illegal, but it damn sure isn’t very American."even considering as the next head of Homeland Security an extremist cop who not only supported Cliven Bundy’s sedition, he called for rebellion against the American government, as recently as October prior to the election." < Fuck that pig.

Horrible! Now why don't the left start piling up mounds of money for their own fight back machine? The Right have been busy doing so for the last forty or so years.
Before you know it, we will have to zip our mouths or be persecuted. Scary times. And you know how opinionated we Americans love to be. Someone's fixin' to shut us up.

"When they go low, we go high" sounds great, but while we're going high they are cutting us off at the knees. Dems play nice and play by the rules. Repubs lie, cheat, and steal to get what they want. They make new rules that only benefit them. While we take the high, moral ground, they are screwing us at every turn. If Dems don't start to get ruthless, we are doomed.

Why would people exercising their freedom of speech- be a case for the ACLU? Just because some useless lazy liberal professors of useless liberal arts degrees haven't been called out so directly on their anti Americanism before, didn't mean they would be forever immune. Frankly calling these losers out on their bullshit is long overdue.

'Scuse me. I'm an engineering professor but have been told by some employers they prefer liberal arts grads or stem grads with liberal arts minors because they can think creatively.

Please, specify exactly what type of engineering and what engineering classes you profess to professor. You post smells like BS.

Licensed and registered professionals make the decisions and take the responsibility for the important decisions that make this world run as safe and efficiently as possible (within the limits of politics and budgets). Things that liberal arts majors don't even have the slightest idea about as they sit around starbucks sipping their lattes and conversing and deciding among themselves that they are saving the world lol.

BTW most engineering professors I knew couldn't handle the stress and pressure of real world working environments, especially how to CREATIVELY solve problems thru years of real world experience, hence, they teach.

I arrived late to the parade of comments so mine is meant for your information, Gryphen:

Why do I get the feeling that this is just the beginning?

It's actually not the beginning. In the mid 1990's and early 2000's a group begun by Lynne Cheney and Joe Lieberman called "National Alumni Forum" now called "American Council of Trustees and Alumni" was trying to do similar things.

You would get no indication of what they were really trying to achieve if you read the wiki entry for the forum as it currently appears but Lynne and Joe were targeting professors they deemed "too liberal" and "dangerous" to impressionable minds in college.

"Many of those blacklisted are top scholars in their fields, and it appears that the report represents a kind of academic terrorism designed to strike fear into other academics by making examples of respected professors."
