Kushner, with Ivanka and Donald Trump. |
The New York Observer, a newspaper owned by Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, published an opinion piece Friday calling for the FBI to launch a coordinated crackdown on nationwide anti-Trump protests, mobilizations and recount efforts.
Titled “Comey’s FBI Needs to Investigate Violent Democratic Tantrums,” the article was written by Austin Bay, a retired U.S. Army Reserve colonel and adjunct professor at the University of Texas in Austin.
Kushner, who is married to Ivanka Trump, purchased a majority stake in the New York Observer in 2006 for roughly $10 million and currently operates as the outlet’s publisher.
Bay’s opinion piece appeals to FBI director James Comey to “conduct a detailed investigation into the violence and political thuggery that continue to mar the presidential election’s aftermath,” including a “thorough probe of the protests—to include possible ties to organizations demanding vote recounts.”
“The hard left’s violent reaction to Donald Trump’s election is vile and dangerous,” writes Bay. “Peaceful protests? No, the demonstrators vandalize and destroy. They have two goals: intimidating people and sustaining the mainstream media lie that Donald Trump is dangerous.”
The op-ed also wants the FBI to find out if anybody associated with the protests are being paid by George Soros or any other left wing bogeyman.

"At a breakfast fund-raiser at Manhattan’s Cipriani 42nd Street, Mr. Trump on Wednesday gave a tantalizing hint at the inaugural festivities to come for a reality TV star-turned-president: The helicopter grand entrance.
The president-elect said he was paid a visit a day earlier by Mark Burnett, the executive producer of “The Apprentice,” the reality show that helped make the president-elect a household name. Mr. Trump told the crowd that Mr. Burnett proposed reinventing the inauguration with a helicopter taking off from New York City, according to an attendee.
Mr. Burnett, who is known for producing shows like “Survivor,” “The Voice” and “Shark Tank” as well, also told Mr. Trump that he should consider a parade up Fifth Avenue."
The parade up 5th ave should give disgruntled/disappointed deplorable supporters a good opportunity to exercise their 2nd amendment solutions...

DeleteProbably like many of your readers - I have been dealing with the shock and depression after the election. Saddest I have felt in a long time.
ReplyDeleteThere are going to be many shocks and jolts facing us as Trump takes office.
His behavior is alarming beyond description. It is obvious he is in this for himself first - and then his family. The nurturing of his ego is primary and he will continue to swagger and praise all he is doing - even if it is a lie.
What we have to do is fight with every reputable journalist, congress member, lawyers who will help. Anyone out there who acknowledges the truth about what is going on here.
My greatest fear is that if he pushes people too far we are going to have some serious uprisings.

Burnett and his wife Roma Downey are real CHRISTIANS. How can they be so "in love" with this horrid man?
DeleteSorry, but when I hear someone profess they are 'Christian', and add they support Donald Trump, red lights start flashing before me!
DeleteHow is it these Christians interpret the end of times? What does their bible say? What people will supposedly gain access to heaven and which ones won't? Are any specific folks discriminated against in the Christian theory?
I refer to myself as an atheist! I think we live in either Hell or Heaven right here on earth....hopefully, it's a mixture throughout our lives as we grow and learn life's lessons.
I don't believe there is an 'after life'. Makes zero sense to me!
I'd rather come back in a 'second' life (higher elevated, of course!), but that doesn't make any sense either.
I sure hope they make up their minds where all the festivities will be, so the protestors will have all their bases covered.

"President-elect Donald J. Trump is considering formally turning over the operational responsibility for his real estate company to his two adult sons, but he intends to keep a stake in the business and resist calls to divest, according to several people briefed on the discussions.
Under a plan now being considered by the Trump family and its lawyers, Ivanka Trump, Mr. Trump’s elder daughter, would also take a leave of absence from the Trump Organization, in the surest sign that she is exploring a potential move to Washington with her husband, Jared Kushner. Mr. Kushner is discussing an as-yet undetermined role advising his father-in-law, and Ms. Trump plans on being an advocate on issues in which she has a personal interest, like child care.
Before deciding how to separate from her father’s business, Ms. Trump is also assessing how to disentangle from her apparel and licensing brands, which are named for her, two people briefed on her plans said. She plans on appointing a president of her company to run the day-to-day operations.
The Trumps are exploring what was described by one person briefed on the discussions as a “legal structure” that would give Mr. Trump and his daughter separation from the company. The New York Times spoke to two people involved in the transition process who were granted anonymity to speak candidly about continuing negotiations."

"The Republican National Committee will host its Christmas Party this year at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C., the newest property of its newfound leader.
The event, which two GOP sources confirmed to The Huffington Post, is said to be a more exclusive and celebratory affair this year owing to the unexpected election victories enjoyed by the party this November. But in moving the proceedings to Donald Trump’s downtown D.C. hotel, which only opened this past fall, the committee risks furthering the perception that the president-elect is leveraging his newfound political power for private gains.
Trump has yet to announce his plans for handling or transferring his vast business empire once he takes office. But the New York Times reported on Wednesday night that Trump plans to step down from his post while still maintaining a stake in the company."

How is Sen Robert Dole getting paid or repaid depending on how you look at it? Dole is the only Republican former presidential nominee to endorse Trump this year. So how do you pay him back other than letting him into the front door. Remember Dole is getting paid from a foreign country we're about to go to war over.
WHAT DID SEN ROBERT DOLE DO TO GET REPAID FOR ENDORSING TRUMP?
Sen Robert Dole is a registered Taiwan foreign agent, as such, he's the one who orchestrated the phone call between Trump and Dole's boss. Just so happens that there was a discussion about some favors in Taiwan as well. Funny thing is Trump kind of acted like it was just a random call.
WHAT HAPPENED TO DISTANCING THIS ADMINISTRATION FROM LOBBYISTS?
Depends on who is the lobbyists and what does Trump owe him?
NPR
President-elect Donald Trump's phone call with the president of Taiwan last week, initially characterized by Trump transition staffers and Taipei officials as just a small courtesy, has emerged as part of a lobbying strategy by a quintessential Washington insider.
Former Sen. Robert Dole, a war hero, lion of the Senate and 1996 Republican nominee for president, was an early supporter of Donald Trump, even when other Republican leaders were still wary.
Dole is the Taipei government's man in Washington — has been, in fact, for 18 years, since Bill Clinton was president.
In official jargon, Dole is a registered foreign agent. The law requires foreign agents to file itemized lists of what they do for their clients. Dole filed his latest six-month report last week, and it shows the phone call wasn't a one-off event.
Since May, Dole has been arranging contacts between Taiwanese officials and Trump campaign advisers. He facilitated a Taiwan delegation's attendance at the Republican National Convention when Trump was nominated. And he helped them get favorable language into the Republican platform.
As for that phone call last week, it came after the report's end date. Dole told The New York Times he helped arrange it. His office couldn't be reached for comment Wednesday.
"Dole was pushing on a somewhat open door, because talking to the leader of Taiwan was consistent with Trump's stance on China and also his willingness to ignore what might be the conventional wisdom," Jordan Tama, a foreign policy professor at American University, told NPR.
Dole was in a perfect position to give that somewhat open door a shove.
Aside from his nearly two decades lobbying for Taiwan, Dole was also the only Republican former presidential nominee to endorse Trump this year....

ReplyDeleteThe FBI debacle prior to the election regarding Hillary Clinton wasn't politically motivated.
However accusing Putin of hacking the DNC prior to the election was politically motivated by our intelligence community.
So it shall be written so it shall be recorderd in our history per the winner and commander in chief who attended all the security briefings.
Huffington Post-
Trump: U.S. Intel’s Conclusion That Russia Hacked DNC Was Politically Motivated
This is an astounding thing for a president-elect to claim.
President-elect Donald Trump believes that American intelligence agencies were motivated by politics, and not hard evidence, when they determined earlier this year that Russian state-sponsored hackers were behind the theft and release of internal emails from the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee.
“I don’t believe it. I don’t believe [Russia] interfered,” Trump told Time magazine in his “Person of the Year” interview, released Wednesday.
“That became a laughing point, not a talking point,” he went on. “Any time I do something, they say ‘oh, Russia interfered.’"
When Time reporters asked Trump if the conclusions reached by U.S. intelligence professionals who analyzed the hacks were “politically driven,” Trump replied, “I think so.”
The remark has received relatively little attention since the interview was published. But it is astonishing to hear an American president-elect accuse the nation’s intelligence community ― which comprises 16 separate agencies and thousands of employees, many of whom perform dangerous jobs with zero recognition ― of conspiring to lie to the country in order to bolster one political candidate over another.
Trump’s comments are likely to further alienate him and his incoming administration from career intelligence officers, who serve on the front lines of America’s most sensitive military and diplomatic endeavors.
Already, Trump has raised concerns among intelligence professionals for his decision to skip most of his daily intelligence briefings, widely considered to be the most significant daily meetings on a U.S. president’s calendar.
Trump also upset U.S. spies this fall when he publicly described his classified intelligence briefings.

Dole Helped Taiwan With Trump Contacts for Months: Document
A new federal disclosure document indicates that former senator and presidential nominee Bob Dole facilitated contact between Taiwanese officials and members of Donald Trump’s campaign and transition teams over a six-month period this year....
Dole and his law firm Alston & Bird, worked on behalf of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative (TECRO) to arrange for a series of meetings between Trump advisers and Taiwanese officials, according to documents filed last week with the Department of Justice.
The disclosure form -- required by the Foreign Agents Registration Act -- indicates Dole “arranged a telephone briefing with Trump campaign policy director” and “convened a meeting between embassy staff and Trump transition team.”
In addition to these encounters, Dole helped Taiwan secure favorable language in the Republican Party’s platform and arranged for a meeting between Sen. Jeff Sessions, who was eventually named Trump’s pick for attorney general, and Taiwan’s representative to the U.S., Stanley Kao.
The disclosure does not detail whether Dole set up last week’s telephone call.
The disclosure shows TECRO paid Alston & Bird $140,000 for their services from May to October.
The Wall Street Journal reported a transition official said Dole arranged for the phone call between Trump and Taiwan’s President. Dole told the WSJ in an interview that his firm played a role in arranging the phone call. “It’s fair to say that we may have had some influence,” Dole said....
