Donald Trump growing angrier and more resentful that America seems to be rejecting his presidency.

Take a look at this courtesy of the New York Times:

President Trump’s first weekend in office unfolded much the way things often did during his campaign: with angry Twitter messages, a familiar obsession with slights and a series of meandering and at times untrue statements, all eventually giving way to attempts at damage control.

Apparently all of the coverage about how small his inauguration crowds were REALLY got under Trump's skin.

Mr. Trump grew increasingly angry on Inauguration Day after reading a series of Twitter messages pointing out that the size of his inaugural crowd did not rival that of Mr. Obama’s in 2009. But he spent his Friday night in a whirlwind of celebration and affirmation. When he awoke on Saturday morning, after his first night in the Executive Mansion, the glow was gone, several people close to him said, and the new president was filled anew with a sense of injury.

He became even more agitated after learning of a pool report by a Time magazine reporter incorrectly reporting that a bust of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had been removed from the Oval Office. (The reporter, Zeke Miller, did not see the bust and, after realizing the error, quickly issued a correction and apology.)

That of course resulted in Trump sending Sean Sphincter out to bitch to the press about how unfair the press was treating his boss and to claim that the inauguration crowds were "the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration. Period. Both in person and around the globe."

By the way according to the Washington Post Trump himself wanted Spicer to deliver a "fiery public response," and in the end thought that Spicer's attack on the media "was not forceful enough."

The Post also explains that there is constant infighting and power struggles among Trump's people while Trump himself becomes "resentful, even furious, at what he views as the media’s failure to reflect the magnitude of his achievements, and he feels demoralized that the public’s perception of his presidency so far does not necessarily align with his own sense of accomplishment."

Trump is also obsessed with how the media covers him.

This from Axios:

With an allergy to computers and phones, he works the papers. With a black Sharpie in hand, he marks up the Times or other printed stories. When he wants action or response, he scrawls the staffers' names on that paper and either hands the clip to them in person, or has a staffer create a PDF of it — with handwritten commentary — and email it to them. An amazed senior adviser recently pulled out his phone to show us a string of the emailed PDFs, all demanding response. It was like something from the early 90s. Even when he gets worked up enough to tweet, Trump told us in our interview he will often simply dictate it, and let his staff hit "send" on Twitter.

Most mornings, Trump flicks on the TV and watches "Morning Joe," often for long periods of time, sometimes interrupted with texts to the hosts or panelists. After the 6 a.m. hour of "Joe," he's often on to "Fox & Friends" by 7 a.m., with a little CNN before or after. He also catches the Sunday shows, especially "Meet the Press." "The shows," as he calls them, often provoke his tweets. The day of our interview with him, all of his tweet topics were discussed during the first two hours of "Morning Joe."

"60 Minutes" is usually on his DVR. "He's so old-school that he thinks it's awesome to go on '60 Minutes," a friend said. "He loves being one of Barbara Walters' '10 Most Fascinating People' of the year." Before Trump ran, a staple that he watched every weeknight was Billy Bush's "Access Hollywood." Same with Time Magazine. His office and hotels are full of framed copies of him on the cover.

This obsession with media coverage combined with his thin skin makes Trump easily manipulated by celebrities, politicians, and members of the press who want to get under his skin.

Something that was reinforced even further by the tweets he sent out this morning after hearing that if he really believes there was voter fraud committed by millions of undocumented immigrants there needs to be an investigation.

Of course the problem with this is that you need some evidence to start such an investigation, there is none, and it will cost many millions of dollars to launch.

Not that Trump cares, after all it's not his money.

What is becoming impossible to miss is something that most of us identified before the election, which is that Trump lacks the appropriate temperament for the job as president of the united states.

You know I think we all knew that the Trump presidency would be a giant shit show, but did anybody expect this much shit to show so early?

That Donald Trump was a spoiled rotten 4 year old child is no surprise to anyone.

The man is a titanically terrible sociopath, and I have no doubt he screams, yells,, and pounds the table in rage for any reason, or no reason.

He needs spanking a diaper and a a teething ring.

    Here's what I have done . . . may be small, insignificant measures, but . . . death by a thousand cuts.

    1. My area is served by three weekly papers and four dailies. I'm writing at least a letter week, pointing out something stupid Trump has done that will hurt people. I know they won't publish all my letters but . . . drip, drip, drip. In my letters I DO NOT refer to him as "President Trump" -- only as Trump.

    2. I set up a blog on blogspot "Trumpster - Rhymes with Dumpster" on which I am piling article upon article exposing his bullshit.

    3. I'm hammering away at local pro-Trump blogs, leaving factual comments that destroy their praise of him.

    4. Added a couple of bumper stickers to my F250: "I will show your president the same respect you showed mine," "Trump Lies," "Impeach Trump." Have already been shown a lot of middle fingers.

Why does he keep undermining his own legitimacy with whining that 3-5 million people voted illegally? Where is his proof, he is in the big boys seat now, can’t keep making claims without proof or is his proof from the russians.

On Election Day, republicans trying to vote twice for trump committed the only voter fraud reported. Sen. Graham told him to shut up, proved the evidence or the Senate will investigate. Does little fingers donnie really want to open up that can of worms?

It is also interesting that when pressure by the press, Spicer backed off. The reporter stated that this is a serious accusation made by whiner in chief, over and over.

All he could say was they were looking into it, meaning it backfired, because donnie thinks he is on a reality tv show with no accountability for his words and actions. He thinks we will buy his B.S. without question.

Those tweets from trump about voting fraud are a result of what the media did to Spicer in his second White House Press briefing. The media not only challenged Spicer, they challenged trump's voting fraud accusations and why hasn't he had an investing. The media basically called trump out.

Trump Prepares To Halt Syrian Refugee Admissions, Limit Muslim Entry

The president plans to make good on one of his most discriminatory campaign promises.

President Donald Trump is preparing to issue an executive order dramatically restricting refugee admissions to the U.S. and denying visas to individuals from countries his administration deems high-risk, according to congressional and advocacy organization sources briefed on a draft.

The executive order could still change before Trump signs it, which could happen this week. According to sources, administration officials are considering:

Blocking refugees from war-torn Syria from entering the U.S. indefinitely.

Suspending all refugee admissions for 120 days while the administration determines which countries pose the least risk.

Temporarily suspending visa issuances to people in countries where the administration considers security screening inadequate ― meaning people from those countries couldn’t enter the U.S. at all.

Capping total refugee admissions for fiscal year 2017 at 50,000 ― less than half of the 110,000 proposed by the Obama administration.

Sources briefed on the draft executive order said the list of countries targeted is not yet finalized, but those under consideration ― Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen ― are all Muslim-majority nations. Trump vowed last year to suspend immigration from “terror-prone regions” as one of his first moves.

In its current form, the executive order would allow Trump to claim victory on one of his main campaign promises ― a “total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States.” But because it would allow some Muslims from countries other than the list of “high-risk” nations to enter the U.S., it falls short of that vow.

Trump’s Illegal Voting Lie Is Part of Larger Republican Attack On Democracy

...According to a preview (2017) put out by the Brennan Center for Justice, as of last week there were already “at least 33 bills to restrict access to registration and voting [that]have been introduced in 16 states as of January 17.” Not surprising at all, despite several federal court rulings and studies “finding that requiring photo ID at the polls is discriminatory and depresses minority turnout,” some states are working on enacting extremely strict vote suppression legislation.

Nine additional states are considering harsh voting laws and one in Iowa will limit absentee voting. Some others are considering bills to limit voting to citizens with proof of American citizenship, eliminating Election Day registration, and disallowing voter registration groups from registering new voters. In Texas, Republicans are working on a plan to make it impossible for people who love democracy to help voters who need language assistance. Because it is Texas and Republicans run the state, the mindset must be that if they “don’t talk Murican” they aren’t “Muricans” and can’t vote.

Look, nobody likes a liar and it is probable that not many people like Trump; who could possibly blame them? However, this particular lie is, combined with conspiracy whackos and fake news sites repeating Trump’s claim that 3-5 million illegal aliens cast illegal votes for Hillary Clinton and cost Trump the popular vote victory is not the run-of-the-mill Trump lie. It is a deliberate propaganda tool to bolster support for Republicans to disenfranchise literally millions of American citizens’ and the reason is perfectly clear. With a fascist regime now controlling the nation, the last thing Koch Republicans and their anti-democracy ALEC legislation mill want to see is American democracy in action because when all Americans are allowed to vote Republicans can’t win.

    From NYT:
”…Mr. Trump has the television — and his old, unsecured Android phone, to the protests of some of his aides — to keep him company. ...Donald Trump’s inauguration day ceremonies grabbed 30.6 million viewers on Friday, significantly lower than the crowd that turned out for Barack Obama’s first inauguration in 2009.

Nielsen measured the 12 networks that aired any live coverage of inaugural events between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. ET. Obama’s history-making first time out averaged 37.7 million viewers. The highest-rated inauguration remains Ronald Reagan in 1981, which brought in 41.8 million viewers.

The Trump inauguration drew 2.8 million viewers 18-34, 7.2 million 35-54, and 19.2 million 55 and over. Nielsen measured viewership on ABC, CBS, NBC, Telemundo, Univision, CNBC, CNN, Fox Business Network, Fox New Channel, Galavision, HLN, and MSNBC. Fox News was the most watched network, averaging 8.8 million viewers from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.

Your tax money being wasted by another trump deal putting America LAST. oh boy his polling is going to sink again or will he keep the TRUTH from the public.

What a waste of money, all they have to do is tunnel under the wall and in fact the tunnels are already there.
    ====================
US will probably pay Mexico to build the wall — material and labor will likely come from over the border

President Donald Trump is scheduled to sign Executive Orders Wednesday that began the process of building his “big, beautiful wall” on the US/Mexico border. But it’s likely that foreign companies will financially benefit from building the wall.

According to The Guardian, construction experts anticipate building the wall will cost more than $30 billion, despite Trump’s estimations, that it would be between $8 billion and $10 billion.

Gleeds Worldwide, a contract consulting firm, said that even taking into account natural borders like mountains and the Rio Grande, the wall will cost $31 billion and take 40,000 people at least five years to build. .....

The idea of building a 1,000-mile wall which is designed to be impenetrable is something that may well come back to haunt the president,” he said. The wall was “a highly effective and eye-catching election tweet but a pretty unrealistic tendering opportunity as currently reported.”

A majority of the labor that would be brought in would likely come from the Mexico side of the border as well because their wage requirement is lower and more cost effective.
“There would be a certain irony of getting Mexicans to build it,” he noted. “It would likely be a mixed labor force, but Mexicans would be much less expensive.”

At the same time, the enormity of steel and concrete needed would require the U.S. to rely on Mexican-owned cement and concrete plants. Having the steel and concrete from U.S. companies means an added expense to transport it while the Mexican companies are closer to the border.

Bernstein Investment Bank estimated that the Mexican company Cemex is the best one positioned to provide the materials. It’s the world’s second-largest cement and building materials producer and in the last year, stock for the company increased by 130 percent, reaching an eight-year-high.

US builders Vulcan Materials and Martin Marietta Materials also have plants nearby. They similarly saw their stock increase, but only by 10 percent.

In his mind he is entitled. He is not lying but merely saying things and making up lies to get what he sincerely delusion ally believes is his in pathological entitlement.

These personalities escalate meaning will be more enraged, act out more aggressively and ratchet up the lies and demand accompanied by threats their flying monkeys do their dirty work for them. Pollution and bribes for everyone:

    ===========================
Republicans to kill US rules on corruption, environment, labor and guns next week

Congressional Republicans are set to overturn a slew of Obama-era regulations next week, including a controversial anti-bribery rule aimed at U.S. resource companies such as Exxon Mobil Corp and Chevron Corp, according to a top lawmaker.

After six years of legal battles, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in June approved the rule requiring companies to disclose payments to foreign governments. It will probably be killed swiftly with two simple congressional votes.

Other rules eyed for quick overturning by Congress include newly minted environmental, gun control and labor relations measures, sources said.

Under the Congressional Review Act, Congress can use simple majority votes to stop recent regulations in their tracks. The timing in the law means that any rules that became final after May 31 could go on the chopping block.......

Leaked memo reveals Trump’s plan to smash the EPA

.... A leaked copy of the Trump team’s plan for the EPA calls for slashing its budget, “terminating climate programs,” ending auto fuel-economy standards, and executing “major reforms of the agency’s use of science and economics.”

The Trump administration has frozen EPA’s grants and contracts, cutting off funding for everything from cleanup of toxic sites to testing of air quality..........

More bad news for the EPA will be coming: A new team that Trump has put in place to shift the agency’s direction includes three former researchers from Koch-funded think tanks, one former mining lobbyist, and a number of people who have argued against climate action, according to Reuters. And Trump is poised to issue executive orders to weaken pollution rules and cut agency budgets, Vox reports.

Kellyanne Conway and other top White House staff caught using private RNC email system: report

This past summer, Republicans were fond of saying Hillary Clinton ought to be “locked up” because she endangered national security using a home-brew email server during her tenure as Secretary of State.

Now Newsweek reports that several members of the Trump administration are going to be using private Republican National Committee email accounts while serving in the White House.

This is an issue, the publication notes, because U.S. intelligence agencies claim that “the RNC email system… was hacked during the 2016 race.”
Included among the administration officials who have RNC email accounts are Kellyanne Conway, Jared Kushner, Sean Spicer and Steve Bannon.

“They better be careful after making such a huge ruckus over the private email over at the State Department,” former Bush administration ethics attorney Richard Painter tells Newsweek.

While it isn’t illegal for the administration officials to use the RNC’s private email, they are prohibited from using those accounts to conduct government-related business without properly disclosing them.

“If White House staffers have already used the RNC emails system for White House work, they must copy or forward those communications into the government system within 20 days,” Newsweek writes of disclosure requirements that went into effect in 2014. “The Disclosure Requirement was passed to prevent presidents from shielding communications that fall under the Presidential Records Act of 1978.”

The private RNC emails aren’t the only potential security problem for the White House either, as The New York Times reports that President Trump is still using his unsecured Android phone to send out tweets from the White House.

Lock Him Up: Trump’s White House Is Using a Private Email Server

Newsweek has learned that senior staffers in the Trump administration are using a private RNC email server. This is the same private email server used by the Bush administration that claimed it lost 22 million emails.

...After a Trump adviser repeated advocated that Hillary Clinton should be shot for treason over her private email server during the campaign, the Trump administration is now using a private server. The hypocrisy should be stunning, but no one will care.

The answer to why no one will care is the question of this last election.

Republican New Hampshire state Rep. Al Baldasaro said his comments “were in accordance with U.S. law establishing the death penalty for treason. He suggested that Clinton’s use of a private email server could be considered treasonous,” Mass Live reported. Trump praised Baldasaro after he made these comments, so it seemed he not only didn’t want to distance himself, but agreed. He refused to say he condoned the comments, but he continued to praise Baldasaro even after the comment was read back to him during an interview.

So Clinton should be shot for using a private email server, but it’s okay for the Trump administration.

A president who relies on executive order while having majority support in both the House and Senate is someone who cares more about his own show of power than the function of our democracy. Trump is no leader of the people, but rather a rising dictator.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Anonymous10:21 AM

Why yes, it's incredible that the President is bypassing Congress by issuing a flurry of executive orders, and bypassing the American people by quietly dismantling signatures on the petition site and the comment line, and bypassing objective reality by going on about phantom swearing-in attendees and nonexistent voter fraud.

Americans, it no longer matters who you voted for. It does not matter if you are liberal or conservative. What is happening right now is alarming. What matters is that we are all Americans, and we are all in danger of losing our freedoms and way of life.

I felt better on Friday when the comical pics started coming in-Fat Donald leaving Melanoma in the dust when they arrived to greet the Obamas was perfect. Then Saturday was AMAZING-my little town of 900 made the national actual news when we had a march of 800. I literally just get choked up over that. Like right now. The Thugs might take note of the fact that we are smack in the middle of the idiot red side of Washington state. However, at the breakneck speed that Fat Donald is dismantling everything good and necessary, by the next election it might be too late. Plus, I'm old and could croak before then. Jeezus, they're arresting journalists. They're banning the various agencies from speaking to the press. Fat Donald threatens to invade CHICAGO. I'm so lucky to live in a progressive state even if half of it is idiot red. But I just wonder how much damage FD can do. I am heartened by the bloated and puffy eyeball look he has going on in the latest pic at his desk. But Pence is just as bad, to say the least.
