Donald Trump is going to appoint his son-in-law as his senior adviser. Well of course he is.

Courtesy of CNN:

Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, will be senior adviser to the president, a senior transition official told CNN Monday.

The 35-year-old businessman-turned-political strategist played a key part in his father-in-law's presidential campaign and his new position is expected to test the limit of federal anti-nepotism rules.

Of course Kushner is the son of an ex-con, with no government experience, and numerous ongoing business deals around the world.

Seems like the perfect fit for a Trump administration.

Welcome to the kleptocracy.

(P.S. Any minute now you can expect Sarah Palin to launch an attack on Facebook concerning this obvious case of crony capitalism. Yep, any minute now. Probably just sleeping in, or getting over a hangover, but you stay tuned cause it's a coming.)

Ivanka Trump will not take White House position for now while husband, Jared Kushner, plans reshuffling of assets

.... But Ivanka, Trump's daughter, will not be taking a White House position for now as she focuses on settling her children into their new home and schools in Washington, D.C.

.... The newspaper also said that Kushner plans to resign as Kushner Companies CEO and divest "substantial assets."

.... Ivanka Trump will also be divesting assets and resigning from her key roles in the Trump Organization as well as her fashion business. She will, however, retain her position at the luxury hotel in the Old Post Office Building in D.C. This means that her husband, Kushner, will have to recuse himself from any matters that would affect her interest in the property.

I heard that the matchmaker for Ivanka and Jared was Wendi Deng Murdoch. Yes, that same Wendi Deng Murdoch that Ivanka and Jared vacationed with in Croatia in August. The same one that was reported to be Putin's girlfriend. And yes, she is Rupert Murdoch's ex. She denies that she has even met Putin, but who knows. She is clearly part of an inner circle that includes folks who do know Putin - she was "spotted vacationing aboard the $400 million yacht of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich - a close friend of Putin." (see daily mail article of July 25, 2016 here:

Donald Trump just settled a political score in Ohio

    By Amber Phillips
    January 6

Normally we wouldn't interrupt our regularly scheduled programming about Donald Trump's bashing of Arnold Schwarzenegger to tell you who 65 Ohio Republicans voted for to lead their state party.

But this involves Trump, too. In fact, Trump was likely paying close attention to how those 65 Republicans in Ohio voted Friday --- and he's likely happy with the outcome.

The chair of the Ohio GOP party, Matt Borges, lost reelection Friday amid complaints he wasn't loyal to Trump during the campaign. After a close vote that took several rounds, the new chair will be Jane Timken, who was consistently loyal to Trump. (Timken will also be the first female leader of Ohio GOP.)

This vote was arguably a proxy battle for the direction of Ohio's Republican Party -- and a glimpse of how focused Trump can be on settling political scores, no matter how minor.

The president-elect personally called some of the undecided members this week to lobby for the eventual winner, while Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) -- who never endorsed Trump during the election -- made calls for his guy, Borges.

.... One thing that's crystal clear is the message this result sends every GOP elected official and party leader in the country: confront Trump at your political peril -- he does not forget a slight....

    THEN BADA BING BADA BOOM

😁 "We thought for sure, there was no way this was going to happen. Then, lo and behold, Jared was accepted..."

    Washington Post:
Trump’s influential son-in-law went to Harvard. Is this how Jared Kushner got in?

Wall Street Journal articles exposing how some wealthy white families can use assets — cash and political connections — to get their children into top colleges and universities. Then in 2006, he wrote a book on the same subject, “The Price of Admission: How America’s Ruling Class Buys Its Way into Elite Colleges — and Who Gets Left Outside the Gates,” adding to his earlier revelations about how elite institutions of higher education talk incessantly about merit-based admissions but don’t always walk that walk.

In the book, Golden told stories about how specific families maneuvered to get their children into schools they otherwise might not have gotten into without their names, bank accounts and access to power. This is from a Washington Post review of the book when it was published...

Another one of the families he writes about are the Kushners, which includes 35-year-old Jared Kushner, the husband of Ivanka Trump and confidant to his father-in-law, President-elect Donald Trump. In a new piece for ProPublica, Golden answers why the Kushners were part of the book and details why he believes Harvard accepted Jared Kushner.

    Golden notes:

Risa Heller, a spokeswoman for Kushner Companies, said in an email Thursday that “the allegation” that Charles Kushner’s gift to Harvard was related to Jared’s admission “is and always has been false.” His parents, Charles and Seryl Kushner, “are enormously generous and have donated over 100 million dollars to universities, hospitals and other charitable causes. Jared Kushner was an excellent student in high school and graduated from Harvard with honors.” (About 90 percent of Jared’s 2003 class at Harvard also graduated with honors.)
He also wrote this about his book:

It reported that New Jersey real estate developer Charles Kushner had pledged $2.5 million to Harvard University in 1998, not long before his son Jared was admitted to the prestigious Ivy League school. At the time, Harvard accepted about one of every nine applicants. (Nowadays, it only takes one out of twenty.)
I also quoted administrators at Jared’s high school, who described him as a less than stellar student and expressed dismay at Harvard’s decision.
“There was no way anybody in the administrative office of the school thought he would on the merits get into Harvard,” a former official at The Frisch School in Paramus, New Jersey, told me. “His GPA did not warrant it, his SAT scores did not warrant it. We thought for sure, there was no way this was going to happen. Then, lo and behold, Jared was accepted. It was a little bit disappointing because there were at the time other kids we thought should really get in on the merits, and they did not.”....

"A left-wing political group released a new video Monday of a counter-sting that has uncovered evidence of right-wing activists trying to sow chaos at Donald Trump’s inaugural ceremony, an effort to portray critics of Trump who march against him as violent fringe figures.

The counter-sting, carried out by The Undercurrent and Americans Take Action, a project of a previous target of provocateur James O’Keefe, managed to surreptitiously record elements of O’Keefe’s network offering huge sums of money to progressive activists if they would disrupt the ceremony and “put a stop to the inauguration” and the related proceedings to such a degree that donors to the clandestine effort would “turn on a TV and maybe not even see Trump.” To have riots blot out coverage of Trump, the donor offered “unlimited resources,” including to shut down bridges into D.C."

"O’Keefe often releases his videos in dribs and drabs, and Windsor told HuffPost she is planning to do the same with O’Keefe. An edited version of the encounter is embedded below." THIS!

Like what Chuck Schumer is (finally) doing. Check out the letter:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/chuck-schumer-delays-trump-cabinet_us_5873fda9e4b043ad97e53ba0?6kow1hf6xs9x2bj4i

"To prove his point, he sent Mitch McConnell a copy of a 2009 letter that McConnell himself had written about vetting nominees.

In classic Washington fashion, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) is using an eight-year-old letter penned by Sen. Mitch McConnell, in which McConnell called for presidential nominees to be thoroughly vetted before they can receive a hearing, against the Kentucky Republican."

"To prove his point, Schumer read the 2009 letter written by McConnell on the Senate floor. He then sent the letter back to McConnell, with a few minor tweaks. The original copy was addressed to then-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.).

Schumer scratched that out, and wrote in McConnell’s name instead. "

That's the kind of backbone I want to see from Democrats in Congress. I also want them united as a block. For two solid years. If the Republicans could do it for 8, the Democrats can manage for two.

  22. "Democratic opposition research group American Bridge publicly released its files on several of President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet nominees on Monday, a rare step ahead of this week’s slew of confirmation hearings.

The group released books on four high-level nominees for Trump’s administration: Rex Tillerson for secretary of state, Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) for attorney general, Ben Carson for housing secretary and Betsy DeVos for secretary of education. Each book contains hundreds of pages detailing each nominee’s background, financial interests and past comments or actions relevant to the work they’d be doing in their respective roles.

Typically, groups like American Bridge keep research books like these under tight wraps, and selectively provide information to other political groups or reporters when it’s politically advantageous to do so. But after Senate Republicans scheduled several of the most high-profile confirmation hearings for the same day, the group decided to take the unusual step of releasing all their research at once.

“Senate Republicans are cynically slamming through Donald Trump’s cabinet nominees and covering up the nominees’ conflicts of interest from their constituents,” said American Bridge president Jessica Mackler. “American Bridge is the antidote ― we’re releasing hundreds of pages of research on some of Trump’s most dangerous nominees so people can learn about the nominees for themselves.” "

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/opposition-research-trump-nominees_us_58740f26e4b099cdb0ff0e2d?6mp7rwr8uu594quxr

"American Bridge hopes that by releasing its research books, the public can do some of this vetting themselves.

“This research exposes Trump’s nominees as predatory billionaires and ideologues who built their careers by hurting working families, just like Trump,” Mackler said. “And just like Trump, his cabinet will protect their fellow billionaires at the expense of the American people.” "

This will also make it easier for Ivanka to act as first lady, donnie will call melanomia and tell her not to bother to come from NYC.

Can any sane person imagine another president doing this? It's a matter of "keep it in the family" so the lies, deceptions, frauds, illegal behavior will less likely be known to the world. After all, the Trumps are all alike and they all know how dependent they are on Comrade Trump.

All I know if it was a Democrat, the republicans would already be holding investigations.

I'm just amazed that Trump's behavior cannot be stopped. What is wrong w/our country and its current leaders?

I thought there were laws AGAINST nepotism when it comes to this matter?

And, Jeff Sessions is a horrible person and should NOT be approved to the position of Attorney General. He's a proven racist! It's very easy to review his background on line!

I'm appalled and worried as to the direction our country is going. We are going to be controlled and dictated to by Trump and his ilk. Be prepared, America!

I agree with 3:15 and 5:06. Trump has mental health issues and needs a close family member around to cover and protect him from himself.
