Donald Trump to visit National African American Museum on MLK day. Well that's nic...never mind it's cancelled.

Apparently Trump still plans to visit the museum but not until after his inauguration.

You know unless that's the day he's washing his hair that is.

I'll bet he skips the inaugural church service as well, lest he erupt into a fireball once he enters the doors.

OH but he has doc anti-gay anti-woman pastors praying over him on Friday. I suspect the normal 60 minute address will be 29 minutes of Trump glorifying Trump. What else does he have? "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for Russia!"

His ego cannot handle being so disliked and the disruption he creates! He is a man that has to be in control - so that is why he will rarely do press conferences or appear in town-hall scenarios and take questions from fellow Americans!

He spends most of his time in Trump Towers - with multiple security and in hiding! He is afraid to be out in the open!

He's already showing himself to be a disaster! He knows he cannot handle the role of potus! This is going to be extremely interesting to watch.

If he even takes the oath, he won't retain the office of the presidency for four years!

Plus, Trump is truly disliked by the many in America! That is killing his ego more than anything. He's just gotten angrier, nastier and reactive and he's not even in the role yet!

He will go down - one way or another - impeaching him is OUR option America!

MORAL? "Rev. Robert A. Franek" This is by design. Overwhelm and distract so the public can’t see that the swamp is not being drained but filled to the brim. Thus also the swift work of the Senate and the House in passing the budget resolutions to begin the process of repealing the Affordable Care Act. Overwhelm. Distract. None of this is by accident or happenstance. They have shown the American people their values and their desire to keep some facts hidden from the public with the passage of a bill that does not allow the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office to report cost analysis on their healthcare law.More the American people will need to make most vociferously the moral argument for affordable and accessible healthcare being a fundamental right of every citizen of this country."

    Another stunt down.

You know that trip to the Smithsonian Museum of African American History and Culture that President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team announced he would be taking in observance of Martin Luther King Day? Yeah, that’s not happening now.

This “visit” was never fully planned out and was removed from Trump’s calendar due to “scheduling issues,” senior level transition team sources told ABC News. “Senior sources initially said Trump would visit the museum, but ABC has learned that the visit was removed from his calendar due to scheduling issues and was not fully planned out.”

Trump will visit the museum later, after he is president (probably before he releases his tax returns, which is to say, possibly before never). ABC reported these sources said Trump would commemorate MLK day another way, but didn’t have any specifics on that yet. Perhaps he can spend MLK day walking back his false claims that he won Obama Democrats and that’s why Democrats are “mad”; after all, it couldn’t be the Russia Compromise or the Russia hacking of Democrats and Clinton that he publicly directed the Kremlin to do (why does anyone need proof of private meetings when Trump directed the Kremlin in public?).

On the same day that Donald Trump made a fool of himself by attacking civil rights hero Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) for being all talk, including racist stereotypes about his district’s “crime” (read with intended Nixonian dog whistle, or replace with modern version: “urban”), the Trump team brought cover with the announcement that Trump would be visiting the museum that prominently features Rep. Lewis’ civil rights efforts, which included bloodshed for freedom and equality; whereas Donald Trump is a draft-dodger.

The announcement of the trip to the museum was on par with the empty folders Trump offered as proof that he had separated from his business interests. Trump knows how to distract and offer sparkly disco balls for a story lede, but what he doesn’t understand is that being president isn’t like being the star of a reality TV show or posing during a ribbon cutting with a few words of cheap, transparent propaganda to praise yourself.

Conn. Republican arrested for grabbing woman’s genitals — his lawyer says it was ‘a playful gesture’

...The incident, which took place in December 2016, began when the 57-year-old woman encountered von Keyserling in the hallway. The two had a brief political argument, in which von Keyserling remarked, “I love this new world, I no longer have to be politically correct.”

When the woman tried to walk away, von Keyserling allegedly reached from behind to place his hand between her legs and pinched her in the groin. He said “it would be your word against mine and nobody will believe you,” the woman claimed.

I read an article last night that he ought to go to the wreath laying, but, I thought, no way should he interfere, and so I thought maybe he understood that and decided to go to the museum instead. But of course people he's spurned would be there in big numbers and he'd be just as much a fish out of water, so his even going to the museum surprised me. Another possibility is that he had decided to go to the museum to show that he knows who Dr. King is, but then he read the articles that have been coming out saying that Obama recommended in Sept. that he go. Back when Trump was saying thatblacks have never had it so nad, Obama said of course they've had it much worse and a little girl could tell you that. And he said Trump ought to go check out the museum. Trump may have started reading the current references to Sept. and gotten pissed and said screw the museum trip.

and surprise donny - mlk transcends this bias-based, human construct called "race" that we still are stuck with. how about celebrating civil rights - which was his mission - and those who have worked towards it? you know, like john lewis? civil rights are rights for all people, regardless of everything they are and are not.
how about celebrating the 1st amendment and voting rights? mlk would approve, i think it's safe to say. and the rights of all who are eligible for it not to have their social security taken away or privatized? there really are endless choices to pick from. yes, celebrate that mlk is of african (and more than likely european) descent. go to the museum to celebrate black history month. but celebrate monday that mlk is a civil rights icon, no matter where he came from. he transcends melanin count and ethnicity, even though that is a huge part of his personal history. and apologize to rep. lewis while you're at it!

To whoever defended elitist Melania below, you have to be kidding. This woman is living her Pretty Woman days. Since her nude modeling and hooking up with a millionaire her life has changed. Yes she's going to have a makeup room second and I do mean second to none with her personal makeup artist living in the Trump hotel whenever Melania feels like going to Washington DC. I hope us taxpayers will not get stuck with the bill for flying her personal groomer from New York to DC, also stuck paying for her room and board.

OGE Director Walter Shaub last week panned Trump’s plan to address his business conflicts as “meaningless,” marking the second time the director called on the president-elect to fully divest his assets before he assumes the presidency this week.

In my opinion whether or not racist trump knew who John Lewis is, it is irrelevant. Any civilized person with decorum, let alone the president elect, should not be making personal attacks on a citizen for speaking their views.

If trump didn’t like it he should have shut up, if it was so necessary to comment, he could have said I am sorry that he feels that way, but to attack him was reprehensible and he should apologize.

There are a number of pictures of John Lewis in the museum (you can do a search on the museum online). He's seen walking with MLK, helping a woman, getting beat, and more. If Trump went to the museum, people would be watching his reaction to everything, and to what is there about John Lewis. He'd feel like a fool walking around. And if nayone was there to recird things and ask him questions about his reaction to the museum, he'd sound dumb.

Also, Trump never makes long visits anywhere. He's in and out, like when on the campaign trail and stopping at factories for a whole fifteen minutes. To really see this museum he'd have to give it a decent chunk of time, and no way would he tomorrow. He'd normally not do it, and he'd especially not do it on MLK Day weekend with hordes of people there watching.
