You know my hands are yuge right? |
President Trump used his first official meeting with congressional leaders on Monday to falsely claim that millions of unauthorized immigrants had robbed him of a popular vote majority, a return to his obsession with the election’s results even as he seeks support for his legislative agenda.
........
Mr. Trump asserted that between three million and five million unauthorized immigrants voted for Mrs. Clinton. That is similar to a Twitter message he posted in late November that said he would have won the popular vote “if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally.”
Voting officials across the country have said there is virtually no evidence of people voting illegally, and certainly not millions of them. White House officials did not respond to requests for a comment on Mr. Trump’s discussion of the issue.
Can you believe this?
This man, who needed help from voter suppression, Wikileaks, FBI Director James Comey, and Russia, to "win" the electoral college is now suggesting that he was cheated out of the popular vote victory as well?
This claim has already been fact checked by just about everybody and of course there is nothing to it.
But let's face it the man simply CANNOT stop lying.
Not only is this thin skinned self aggrandizing asshole making this claim, but he is also signed an executive order making his poorly attended inauguration day a "National Day of Patriotic Devotion."
This...this is what happens when a country elects a megalomaniac to the highest office in the country,
And sadly it is only the beginning.
Update: Press Secretary Sean Spicer just doubled down on Trump's claim that millions of undocumented immigrants voted for Hillary, and when pressed for evidence could not provide any.
Essentially the Trump administration is claiming that a huge crime was committed by millions of people in this last election. If true that would mean there would HAVE to be an investigation launched.
But they won't do that because they know they are lying.
What is wrong with Donald Trump? Seriously? He was just inaugurated on Friday and he's still whining about having lost the popular vote? He simply cannot seem to abide by facts. No wonder his businesses are always filing for bankruptcy. No wonder contractors always have to sue to get paid. Trump lives in a far, far distant land in his head. Can't his minions in the White House bring him down to Planet Earth?
ReplyDeleteBeaglemom
He seems terrified of being illegitimate. His whole life has been a desperate attempt to be accepted by the "elite" or "old money" people. Now he is POTUS and he still doesn't feel accepted. Hence his pathetic demand for Devotion Day.
DeleteHe is 100% Id (as Bill Maher said last Friday) and look-out world, he's a bear with a sore head.
In the last two days, he only looks happy when signing a bill to destroy an enemy: anti-abortion bill yesterday for the Women's Marches and today, the Dakota pipeline (Native Americans and environmentalists who hate him with very, very good reason) PLUS the freeze on environment study research and the gag order on the dept. News got out. Surprise, surprise.
We are at war, people. He can't kill everybody.
Evil flourishes if good people do nothing. Leak everything!
After trying to revenge every enemy by signing some heinous bill, he will need to "win" again: world domination? sounds about right.

DeleteHe's mentally ill. Obviously.
DeleteWe are living in Trump's wonderland, we are down the rabbit hole people.
DeleteI continue to be amazed at the obvious gaslighting that is going on. His minions refuse to open their eyes to this nonsense.
Whining about the popular vote.
DeleteWhining about the favorability polls.
Whining the media are being mean to him.
We all predicted this. He's unfit. He doesn't have the character or personality to survive as president.
Reports from behind the scenes say he's constantly in a rage about one thing or another.
He's bringing shills (claqueurs) everywhere to applaud him to either give the media a false sense of approval or to just make himself feel good.
He is a sick, sick man. He is unfit to be president.
But.....after he steps down we get Mike Pence. Nothing will change. Only get WORSE. (if that is possible.)

DeleteI can't remember where I saw it yesterday but I read an article that although Melania and Barron left DC Sunday night so Barron could return to school Monday morning, his school actually had yesterday & today as scheduled holidays, so Barron wouldn't need to get back until tonight to avoid missing any classes. Interesting!
DeleteThat sort find lying easier than the truth. Also, it's a sort of personality and loyalty test. "Will you let me get away with constant BS or won't you?"
ReplyDeleteGood analysis, that. :D
DeleteTechnically it's a lie because he's not telling the truth.
DeleteBut honestly, I don't think he knows the difference. I think he honestly believes everything he says, even when he's contradicting himself.
I don't think he has any grasp of reality. He makes his own reality and that's what comes out of his mouth. Most of the time he doesn't match the actual reality the rest of us live in.
That is the problem. The really, really big problem.
I'm confident he could take a lie detector test and pass, because he believes everything he says.
Basically, he is insane. He is delusional but functioning. Is it called psychotic? Is he a functioning psychotic? I don't think he's schizophrenic. He doesn't hear voices or see people that aren't there.
But he has serious mental problems. At the VERY least he is emotionally unstable.
I would hope there are some sane people close enough to him to recognize this but separated enough that they will do the right thing and act on their observations. It's obvious those closest to him have everything to gain by keeping him in office and everything to lose by removing him.
They think they can control him.
They're wrong.
(I keep visualizing the scene from The Dead Zone when President Stinson launches the nukes. Hallelujah!)

I do think THIS Crossreach voter voiding needs an investigation. Pronto!
Thank you for these links. The second one was especially interesting.
DeleteFor anyone who has not read this, it was a real eye opener. It explains how Trump used "BigData" to manipulate voters - both to vote for him and to stay home. Fascinating stuff. They are able to target people right down to the individual and tailor the message based on personality profiles. Facebook, was, of course, the primary vehicle.
Greg Palast did a great expose on this and this is exactly why Trump keeps whining about illegals voting because he knows that Crosscheck was supposed to secure his popular AND electoral victory but they only got it half right. His cronies weren't able to disenfranchise quite enough voters to give him both.

ReplyDeleteOn His 4th Day In Office Trump Wrecks The Environment With Keystone and Dakota Pipelines Action
ReplyDelete...David Turnbull, Campaigns Director at Oil Change International, said in a statement, “Both the Keystone XL and Dakota Access Pipelines will never be completed, no matter what President Trump and his oil-soaked cabinet try to do. Trump’s first days in office saw massive opposition, marking the beginning of four years of resistance to his dangerous policies. We stopped Keystone XL and Dakota Access before and we’ll do it again. These are fights Trump and his bullies won’t win.”
So far, as president, Trump has rolled back an interest rate cut for economically vulnerable homeowners, weakened health care for 30 million Americans, and vowed to take away health care from millions more disabled and poor Americans by block granting the Medicaid program.
Trump is taking actions that go against the will of the majority of Americans.
http://www.politicususa.com/2017/01/24/4th-day-office-trump-wrecks-environment-keystone-dakota-pipelines-action.html
...This is a perfect example of the duplicitous behavior of the Trump administration. The president’s words mean nothing. If one wants to understand the true intentions of the Trump administration, watch their actions. For example, since taking office, Trump has held one single meeting with friendly union leaders that was notably missing any representation from the nation’s largest unions. In contrast, the president has held several meetings with CEOs.
Trump claims that his administration intends to give government back to the people, but he is spending most of his time meeting with heads of large corporations.
The President claims to be environmentalist, but he will sign an executive order advancing the construction of environmentally dangerous pipelines that will benefit energy companies, not the American people.
Trump is not an environmentalist.

Trump is about to discover that he can’t simply order up the change he wants. In his first two days in office, Trump has appalled the CIA’s professionals and declared open war on the media. His inauguration sparked some of the largest women’s demonstrations ever in the nation’s capital and across the world. Only two of his Cabinet appointees joined him in office, the rest struggling to overcome questions about financial conflicts of interest, ideological extremism and simple competence.

ReplyDelete...Price is an arch-supporter of phasing out Medicare, in addition to being an extreme critic of Obamacare and virtually any effort to make quality health care broadly available and affordable to all citizens. Indeed, in November he was pushing for a Medicare phaseout bill to be enacted in 2017! Many Republicans have expressed unease about phasing out Medicare the same year they're trying to phase out Obamacare.
Price supports phasing out Medicare and replacing it with vouchers that seniors can use to purchase private insurance, which is what Paul Ryan supports. He and Ryan call this "premium support." For the moment, Medicare phaseout seems to be on the backburner for this year. But it could come back at any moment. More recently President Trump and Price are focused on dismantling Medicaid.

DeleteTrump Supporters Already Feeling Regrets
ReplyDelete...As Trump and the GOP take a wrecking ball to the social safety net here in the US and destroy the international norms that have governed for decades, I think we will find more and more Trump supporters who find that they are on the short end of those changes and their regrets will grow. But it will probably be too late to prevent lots of damage before they get another chance to change what they have wrought. Trump is a salesman and a con artist so it is not surprising that he fooled some of his supporters and you have to feel sorry for them. ReplyDeleteWe broke the Panama Papers story. Here's how to investigate Donald Trump
...American journalists should stop him from dividing their ranks – however hard their professional competition may be. They should do the opposite: unite, share and collaborate. Even if doing so would mean embracing something quite unfamiliar and new to American journalism.
The Panama Papers has showed that a formerly unthinkable project of collaboration can work. When we shared the data of the papers with a team of 400 reporters worldwide, we brought together a vast number of investigative reporters who typically compete which each other. The main reason why our newspaper, the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, shared the story with competitors was simply that it was too big and too important to do alone.
Now, once again, we are faced with a story that is too big and too important to handle on our own: Donald Trump’s impact on the democracy of the United States of America.
...This government has decided to go down a new and hostile path. Now, it is time for us to change path, too. That’s not only just fair – it is absolutely necessary.

'Dear 'President' Trump,
No, there was no massive voter fraud. You lost the popular vote. By 2.8 million votes. Your lie has been debunked numerous times by many reputable sources, and no evidence exists to support your blatant lie.
No, your inauguration was not “the most watched in history,” and, in fact, the live audience for your inaugural was tiny, less than half of what Obama drew in 2009, according to every reputable source, and as evidenced by numerous photographs of both events. The black guy was far more popular, and continues to be far more popular, than you’ve ever been.
And, yes, the Women’s March on the day after your inauguration drew far more people to Washington than your inauguration. Not to mention millions of other marchers all across the country and in cities around the world.
And, finally, you take office with the lowest approval rating of any president in modern history. By far. No other president has ever come close to your near-zero net approval on inauguration day.
In short, you’re starting on thin ice, and, judging by your actions in your first week in office, that ice is only getting thinner. It’s only a matter of time before the ice breaks beneath the weight of your bloated ego and monumental insecurity.

And that's because the democratic party elites robbed you--liberals and democrats--of the power to pick who you wanted to contest the nomination.
I have so many friends who wanted Bernie Sanders to be the nominee but he never had a shot because people you don't even know were given power as super-delegates to decide who would be the nominee and that began the moment Obama won the nomination in 2008.
This is from the U.K.'s Guardian--a left-leaning newspaper:
"The Democratic party’s nomination will ultimately be decided by more than 4,700 delegates at its nominating convention in the summer. Most of those delegates are allocated based on votes in each state’s primary or caucus. However, the party also assigns what are known as ‘superdelegates” – 700 or so people who aren’t elected by anyone during the primary process and are free to vote any way they want at the convention. They are made up of members of Congress and members of the Democratic National Committee – which is made up of much of the establishment that Sanders is implicitly running against.
Party elites who have announced who they are supporting have almost universally broken towards Clinton’s camp. A recent unofficial count put Clinton’s advantage at a staggering 355-14. And given how Sanders falls well outside the establishment compared with Obama in 2008, it’s hard to see how he can gain a significant number to make up for Clinton’s lead – meaning it’s more likely that superdelegates would at least want to tip the scales in favor of Clinton, even if he ends up winning more primaries.
Your anger, if you want to change the obscenity that this is should be directed at the DNC.
How many democrats in the wake of Clinton's defeat are just NOW labelling her a weak candidate. Perhaps had your vote really counted in the primaries, there would be a different man or woman sitting in the Oval office today.
11:17 AM - You gotta let it go man. We are not the enemy.
DeleteShe received 2.8 million more votes the the orange shit-gibbon.
DeleteOh fuck off, you are foaming at the mouth and making me gag. Go suck on Donald Trump's dick you wanker.
DeleteYou are a goddamned liar:
DeleteTrump is the first elected U.S. president to start out with a job approval rating below 50% in the history of Gallup surveys, which date back to Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1953. Just 45% of respondents said they approve of the job Trump is doing, while 45% disapprove, according to a Gallup poll.

57% my ass.
Maybe you'd like to tell us who paid you to spread false 'information'?
DeleteYeah, I thought not...
Little Donnie would know because he rigged the election. He knows it and so do we. He is in bigly trouble along with his nasty basket cases of deplorable liars.
ReplyDeleteIf true that would mean there would HAVE to be an investigation launched.
ReplyDeleteBut they won't do that because they know they are lying.
No, he is not going to launch an investigation because the TRUTH would come out and trump can’t handle the truth.
The election was rigged. All the dirt about the russians, his campaign ties to russia, his ties with Comey, his business interests in russia would come out.
Hasn’t anyone is DC begun to wonder about the mental stability of dictator trump? It would be interesting to hear what is being said behind closed doors.
Are the republicans planning to use him and then impeach him or leave it to the Democrats to do their dirty work?
Don had thousands of lawsuits against him and now he has millions and more coming daily. Why would don do this to himself? $$$$$$
ReplyDeleteHe can't help himself.
DeleteHe hates Obama that much.
He doesn't have anything to lose, he is BK and owes everyone. So he hides behind the American people assets acting like he won an election.
DeleteWhy doesn't some guy challenge that bigly badass don to some manly games?
ReplyDeleteHeading to the pipelines protest. Gotta stop that ugly pipe through the heart of America for ugly trump profits.
ReplyDelete"The president was also bothered that the spokesman read, at times haltingly, from a printed statement.”
ReplyDelete"Trump has been resentful, even furious, at what he views as the media’s failure to reflect the magnitude of his achievements, and he feels demoralized that the public’s perception of his presidency so far does not necessarily align with his own sense of accomplishment."

ReplyDeleteMSNBC Fights Trump Lie With Real Time Fact Check Of Claim Millions Voted Illegally
ReplyDeleteAfter White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer had doubled down on President Trump's claim that millions voted illegally in the 2016 election, MSNBC's Katy Tur provided a real time fact check that debunked the White House's false claim.
MSNBC wasn’t alone. CNN headlined their story, “Trump believes millions voted illegally, WH says — but provides no proof”.

ReplyDeleteWhite House Tantrum Over Crowd Size Came Directly From Trump and We Can Expect More
Sean Spicer's angry, disastrous White House briefing came straight from President Trump, who thought Spicer hadn't gone far enough.
...Surely the image of White House press secretary Sean Spicer raging at the press corps as he falsely declared Trump’s inauguration the biggest ever in an unsteady tirade on Saturday is burned into your mind if you follow politics.
You ain’t seen nothing yet, apparently.
That ragefest came straight from President Trump, who thought Spicer hadn’t gone far enough, Ashley Parker, Philip Rucker and Matea Gold reported in the Washington Post, in an article based on interviews with senior White House officials, Trump advisers and confidants.
“President Trump had just returned to the White House on Saturday from his final inauguration event, a tranquil interfaith prayer service, when the flashes of anger began to build,” they open.
Watching the “massive demonstrations around the globe protesting his day-old presidency” compared to the footage of his much smaller inauguration, “Trump grew increasingly and visibly enraged.”
He seems to have taken personally that pundits were comparing his turnout to the protests and to other inaugurations. We already know Trump responded to the National Park Service tweeting out a picture of the National Mall during his inauguration as compared to Obama’s by ordering them to stop tweeting.
The writers go on to talk about the power struggles within the Trump administration, noting, “At the center, as always, is Trump himself, whose ascent to the White House seems to have only heightened his acute sensitivity to criticism.”

ReplyDeleteTrump Gets The Date Of His Own Inauguration Wrong In Photo Hung In The White House
Trump has found a photo that he likes so much of his inauguration that it will be displayed in the upper/lower press hall. Woot! Finally found a photo he likes of his inauguration on the 21st of January. Wait, what?
Oh, wait, what?
Yes, that’s right. Reality is taking such a beating from the Trump White House, it decided to change his Inauguration Day, Friday the 20th of January, to Saturday, the 21st of January, when D.C. had those historically large crowds. Those crowds protesting Donald Trump.
See a blown up photo of the date:

He's delusional. He's mentally ill.
DeleteHow can ANYONE who works for him not see it? How can they continue to feed his delusion?
Are they so obsessed with getting their own agendas passed, the money and the prestige that they turn a blind eye to the madman they serve? Does it really mean that much to them they would endanger not just the country, but the entire world?
Do they really believe they can control him?

White House: Donald Trump Believes Lie That Millions Voted Illegally
ReplyDeleteThere is no evidence to support this, and the White House spokesman did not offer any.
During the course of the press conference, Spicer grew visibly frustrated at the repeated questions about Trump’s false claim. “He believes what he believes based on the information he was provided,” Spicer told CNN’s Jeff Zeleny. Asked what Trump’s belief means for American democracy, Spicer snapped, “It means I have answered your question.”
Spicer also struggled to explain why Trump had not prioritized an investigation into the issue, which NPR’s Mara Liasson said would be “a scandal of astronomical proportions,” if it were actually true.

ReplyDeleteThis Pro-Trump "Fact-Checking" Website Is Run By An American In Russia
ReplyDeleteAn American working in Moscow is playing a key role in an effort to support President Donald Trump by “fact-checking” claims about Trump’s alleged connections to Russia.
Clint Ehrlich is a visiting researcher at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO). He gained attention during the US election campaign for repeating Kremlin talking points in an opinion piece published in Foreign Policy that outlined the view that Hillary Clinton genuinely wanted to start a war with Russia.
Now, Ehrlich is back. Domain registration records and document metadata show that he played a key role in creating both an anonymous website, FactCheck.net, and a recent report it published claiming to reveal “exclusive evidence that casts doubt on the recent, highly publicized allegation that Donald Trump was compromised by Russia’s foreign-intelligence services.”
When reached by BuzzFeed News, Ehrlich confirmed that he was the person behind the site, saying the project was “exactly what it purported to be.”
After the publication of this story, the site posted a response “officially announcing” that Erlich is its editor-in-chief.
The FactCheck.net report aimed to refute information contained in the dossier compiled by a former MI6 agent that US intelligence used to brief Trump and then-President Barack Obama. Ehrlich was critical of the decision to publish the dossier, which contains explosive but unverified claims about Trump, and has been sending tweets that question some of the allegations in the document. Similar refutations are present in the FactCheck.net report.
When it launched earlier this month, FactCheck.net claimed to be run by a “group of experts” working to expose the “bogus claims about Mr. Trump and Russia’s government.” Nine days after announcing its presence on a bare-bones website with no identifying information, FactCheck.net published a PDF called “Shower of Falsehoods” that claimed to expose key inaccuracies in the Steele dossier. (The title is likely a play on both a RAND Corporation report about Russian propaganda, “Firehose of Falsehood,” and the the most eyebrow-raising of the allegations contained in the dossier.)
The resulting PDF cited no sources and said its authors are “a coalition of national-security professionals from the United States and Russia who have joined forces to expose ‘fake news.’ Our work is a public service, which is not financed or directed by either state.”

I think we are going to see more and more defiance of the administration by those that have integrity and feel it is there patriotic duty to do the right thing for America and Americans.
DeleteThere will be more and more leaks. They will get very good at it.
Hopefully the media will also step up.
I had a little bit of hope that once in office, Trump would double-down, get to work, and mostly keep the crazy talk to himself. I could then have at least a tiny amount of respect for him.
ReplyDeleteSadly, that's not going to happen. He hasn't been in office a week yet, and I'm trying to avoid news of him. My mental health is going to decline these next four years.
What indicated to you this might happen?
DeleteI had little doubt he would do exactly what he's doing.
