The man behind Donald Trump’s official presidential tweets is a former golf caddy who has repeatedly promoted fake news stories and conspiracy theories on social media.
The official President of the United States (POTUS) Twitter page was updated on Sunday to confirm the messages are being posted by Dan Scavino, Mr Trump’s “assistant” and Director of Social Media.
Mr Scavino has used his own Twitter page to publish a number of untrue posts, including one of a video he said showed Syrian refugees in Germany holding a rally in support of Isis. The event was actually a protest against a German far-right group.
He has also repeatedly shared content from conspiracy theory websites and fake news organisations, including InfoWars - a website whose founder, Alex Jones, believes the 9/11 attacks were an “inside job” carried out by the US government, that a number of other terrorist attacks on US soil were also the responsibility of the government, and that Osama in Laden was a CIA asset.
So really nothing has changed.
We can not believe anything tweeted by Donald Trump on his personal account, and we cannot believe anything tweeted on the presidential account.
Oh and we also cannot believe anything said by his press secretary, his spokespeople, or, most likely, anybody in his cabinet.
Well this should be a fun and fact free four years.

ReplyDeletePersonally responsible for having sex that is.
"exas state Representative Tony Tinderholt hoped to put women in jail and take away their voting rights if they had an abortion.
In an interview with the Texas Observer, the Republican lawmaker explained that women need to know there are “repercussions” for their actions.
“Right now, it’s real easy,” Tinderholt said. “Right now, they don’t make it important to be personally responsible because they know that they have a backup of ‘oh, I can just go get an abortion.’ Now, we both know that consenting adults don’t always think smartly sometimes. But consenting adults need to also consider the repercussions of the sexual relationship that they’re gonna have, which is a child.”"
Sick.
Oh, and if the sex was unconsenting?
"House Bill 948 has been named by Tinderholt as the “Abolition of Abortion in Texas Act” and will likely draw another costly lawsuit for Texas taxpayers to fund in court. Under this bill, there would no longer be any exception for women who are abused, raped or have fetal abnormalities. If a teen is raped by her father she would be forced to carry the child under this law under penalty of jail.
Tinderholt explains that the women should be forced to carry the child because he’s “a firm believer that God creates children in his own image, regardless of how that child is brought into the world, it’s created in his image, and how can someone want to destroy that?”"

If the woman who has the abortion has to go to prison then the father should too. The guy has as much "personal responsibility" as the woman has. What fools these GOP men are!

ReplyDeleteWe have a spokesperson for the president of the United States wrap up a lie in the Orwellian phrase "alternative facts”…
ReplyDeleteThis man child, Baby Destructo, is obviously mentally ill, cognitively impaired, and emotionally stunted. He is inarguably unprepared , unqualified, and unstable. He has even caused me to feel sympathy for Melania & Barron. The lies the spouts, one after another, on and on, is astonishing, to say the least. I admit, when he first announced his candidacy, I made a few jokes at his expense. But within days, I no longer joked about, and here recently, I have outright cried and groaned aloud in agony. Every decision he makes is awful and a vindictive oppositional destruction of President Obama's legacy. He is worse than my 20-month old great-nephew who continuously beats his toy drum, smiling gleefully when no one can hear the television or enjoy a quiet conversation. We simply overlook him; who can ignore these infantile tantrums from POTUS? Who? How? Who will insist that he tell the American people the truth?
ReplyDeleteThere is pathological entitlement to lie to portray a grandiose image often while simultaneously lying to portray an other as extremely bad and to project his behaviors onto.
DeleteRage and revenge are fueled by the delusional belief of his malignant entitlement. How dare anyone not go along with what he says.
Not to be outdone by the Palin Family Midnight Brawl, Trump spokesperson Kellyanne Conway dukes it out with a guy at an inaugural ball.
ReplyDelete--- quote
Top Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway punched a man after stepping in to try to stop a fight at an invite-only inaugural ball on Friday, according to a new report Tuesday.
The New York Daily News reported that witnesses saw Conway punch a man in the face at least three times at the exclusive Liberty Ball in Washington just hours after President Trump was sworn in to office.
A Trump spokesman did not respond immediately for a request for comment.
Conway reportedly stepped between two men who were fighting and punched one of them when they wouldn’t stop. Fox Business correspondent Charlie Gasparino recounted the event on Monday in a Facebook post.

Donald Trump was “visibly enraged” while watching Women’s March on television
ReplyDelete...At least now we know how Donald Trump spent his first full day as “president” of the United States: sitting around the White House and watching television. More specifically, he was watching the coverage of the Women’s Marches in Washington and other cities around the nation and world, as millions of women and men turned out to protest against his very existence. And now his own aides are admitting that Trump became “visibly enraged” as a result.
In particular, Trump became enraged when TV news broadcasts began reporting that the crowds for the Women’s Marches were larger than the crowd for his inauguration ceremony the day before; for that matter the Women’s March in Washington alone outdrew his inaugural. Trump was so bothered by the sight that he insisted press secretary Sean Spicer immediately issue a denial, even as his aides tried to talk him out of it. This may explain why Spicer didn’t even so much as have an opportunity to put on a suit that fit him before heading to the briefing room.
In any case the stunt appears to have backfired. Trump’s own aides were apparently so put off by the incident that they’ve leaked it to Washington Post just to distance themselves from their boss’s antics. Meanwhile CNN refused to air Spicer’s statement live on-air, under the assumption that it would be dishonest.

GOP Official Asks if the Women’s March Will End in Time for them To Cook Dinner
ReplyDeletehttp://www.politicususa.com/2017/01/24/gop-official-asks-womens-march-time-cook-dinner.html
"On Saturday, millions of women all across the country and the world stood up to hate, intolerance, and misogyny," said Democratic Chairman Michael Suleiman. "That same day, Freeholder Carman embraced the very hate, intolerance and misogyny just to get a few shallow 'likes' on Facebook. It was classless and his actions should be condemned by Republicans and Democrats alike."
...Earlier Carman said he would keep the post up and "let it roll." But by Monday afternoon, the post had disappeared from his Facebook page. Still on the page was a meme he posted around the same time that featured a photo of Rosa Parks that read: "Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus. But she didn't trash the bus. Big difference."

Nobody trashed anything on Saturday. I suspect the black-clad protesters on Friday were planted. The fact that they were identically dressed in what looked like pricey black leather jackets was a giveaway. Nothing spontaneous about that - probably a bunch of GOP interns, like the ones flown into Dade County in 2000-2001 to pretend to be irate county residents. I later met one, who bragged about the experience; this person was sent by the GOP governor of our state with others to mess with the recount.

ReplyDeleteTrump Makes History: First President To Receive Sub-Majority Support On Day One
ReplyDeleteThe beginning of a president's term is typically when the commander-in-chief is most widely supported. For Trump, his numbers are dismal on day one.
As Donald Trump stumbled through his first few days as president mired in a childish fight with the press over crowd sizes, there’s another number he likely won’t be happy about – his approval rating.
According to Gallup’s very first survey measuring his approval, the new president made history as the first commander-in-chief to receive a rating below the majority mark.

People Are Going To LOSE IT When They Discover What Trump Is Doing With DAPL
ReplyDelete...This should come as a surprise to no one ever because alleged president Donald Trump has a seedy financial interest in the Dakota Access Access Pipeline. Energy Transfers Partners, the very company that is the pipeline, donated $100,000 to a Trump Victory Fund before the election in the hopes that he’d greenlight it, Mother Jones reported.
In fact, according to disclosure forms at the time, Trump had as much as $300,000 personally invested in the project.
As it happens, our alleged president will likely overturn a permit denial that prohibited the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL), which was the focus of months of massive protests by Native Americans and others who took part in the demonstrations, the Independent reports.

Sean Spicer Just Gave ‘Alternative Facts’ About Women’s March And Got OBLITERATED (TWEETS)
ReplyDeleteIs there any level to which Trump’s press secretary, Sean Spicer, will not sink on behalf of his lying boss? It seems not. In another press conference today, he addressed the sheer size and scope of the Women’s Marches, which took place all over the world, and said that they weren’t protesting against Trump:
“A lot of these people were there to protest an issue of concern to them and not against anything.”
Yeah, sure, alternative facts aren’t facts and people aren’t buying the alternative facts that Spicer and Trump have to sell. The Women’s Marches were absolutely about Trump, his election, and his misogyny – women were sending him a message that we will not tolerate any efforts to step up oppression of us.
That’s reflected in the way Twitter responded to Spicer:
http://addictinginfo.org/2017/01/23/sean-spicer-just-gave-alternative-facts-about-womens-march-and-got-obliterated-tweets/
Obviously, the marchers in the streets of the world on Saturday were focused on a variety of concerns but the overwhelming concern that united all marchers was their dislike of our newest president and their fear of what could happen to the country and the world in the coming years. I worry about the environment, racism, health matters for all people, and dozens of other issues. I marched, above all, because Donald Trump, his administration and his GOP Congress endanger the lives of every living being on the planet and are intent on destroying our country and our Constitution.

Trump just executive-ordered resumed the keystone and DAPL pipelines. Scumbag.
ReplyDeleteDonald Trump evidently just realized that the world is going to be measuring him compared to Barack Obama for the next 4 years. Nobody ever said he was quick.
ReplyDeleteHis “strategy” seems to be to embrace the comparison and attempt a permanent Conwayesque use of "alternate facts” to put the thumb on the scale. We see where this goes. He appears as a caricature, not a legitimate president.
Obama was always his own personal creepy obsession, but clearly he just can't quit Barack. I know how he feels. And ironically, the one thing that will expose this particular brand of naked emperor from the start is for the world to see him as a demoralized racist flailing and coming up short in the same job as the black man he tried to destroy.
And that looks to be the meme taking hold.

Donald Trump's 'day of patriotic devotion' has echoes of North Korea
ReplyDeleteUS president’s inauguration day proclamation uses language uttered by Kim Jong-un in speeches to military and in the secretive state’s propaganda
...“Ordinary North Koreans hear those words every day,” Ishimaru told the Guardian. “They don’t just appear in the media and speeches, but on posters and in other propaganda. They hear the word patriotism at local residents’ meetings, where, for example, they’re told to produce more rice out of love for their country, or to collect more scrap metal for weapons and bullets.”

ReplyDeleteThere are two Americas right now and the ruling class of one of them presents a clear and present danger to life as we know it. The America that elected Donald Trump president is militant, divisive, and nationalist. The ruling class of that America is, “A new type of Republican,” quoting Jeff Giesea, a former employee of SuperPAC investor Peter Thiel; now calling itself the “New Right.” It is composed of the dregs of society, of the most evil, violent and toxic elements in American culture, namely the Nazis, KKK, and the Evangelicals, three groups bound and determined to rule and reshape society as we know it in their own image. Although they have been allied for some forty years as splinter groups in the Republican party, with the election of Trump they are now unified.

Without evidence, Trump tells lawmakers 3 million to 5 million illegal ballots cost him the popular vote
ReplyDeleteDays after being sworn in, President Trump insisted to congressional leaders invited to a reception at the White House that he would have won the popular vote had it not been for millions of illegal votes, according to people familiar with the meeting.
Trump has repeatedly claimed, without evidence, that widespread voter fraud caused him to lose the popular vote to Hillary Clinton, even while he clinched the presidency with an electoral college victory.
Two people familiar with the meeting said Trump spent about 10 minutes at the start of the bipartisan gathering rehashing the campaign. He also told them that between 3 million and 5 million illegal votes caused him to lose the popular vote.

ReplyDelete"Multiple federal agencies have told their employees to cease communications with members of Congress and the press, sources have told The Huffington Post.
The freeze has startled aides on the Hill and people at those agencies, who worry that it could abruptly upend current operations and stifle work and discussions that routinely take place between branches of government.
Officials at sub-agencies of the Department of Health and Human Services, for example, have been told not to send “any correspondence to public officials” according to a memo shared with HuffPost. Instead, they have been asked to refer questions to agency leadership until the leadership has had time to meet with incoming White House staff about the new administration’s policies and objectives, according to a congressional official who was also informed of the communications freeze.
An official with the National Institutes of Health told HuffPost after the initial publication of this piece that an email had been sent to the directors of NIH institutes and centers providing guidance from HHS on how to handle new or pending regulation, policy or guidance.
“The HHS guidance instructs HHS Operating Divisions to hold on publishing new rules or guidance in the Federal Register or other public forums and discussing them with public officials until the Administration has had an opportunity to review them,” the official said.
It’s unclear how wide the freeze goes, however, as an official close to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that agency was unaware of any such freeze.
That said, there also appears to be a lockdown on external communication at the Environmental Protection Agency. As HuffPost reported Monday, a memo went out within the agency following a briefing for communication directors. The memo said there would be no press releases, social media posts or blog messages until further notice. It also asked for a list of external speaking engagements for staff and any planned webinars. It warned that listservs would be reviewed and that staff should “only send out critical messages, as messages can be shared broadly and end up in the press.”
The EPA has also frozen its grants, sources told HuffPost on Monday. ProPublica later confirmed that freeze, as well as a stop on federal contracts, in an interview with transition sources.
A similar directive has been issued to staffers at the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s research arm, BuzzFeed News reported Tuesday. The Agricultural Research Service employs 2,000 scientists and postdoctoral researchers. “Starting immediately and until further notice, ARS will not release any public-facing documents,” wrote Sharon Drumm, chief of staff for the research service, in a department-wide email that BuzzFeed obtained. The list of prohibited external communication included news releases, photos, fact sheets, news feeds and social media content."
