I think this Ellen Degeneres tribute to the President and First Lady will end your day on just the right note.

Courtesy of Raw Story:

Today is the last day that Barack Obama will be our president,” said Ellen DeGeneres on Thursday. “I want to personally thank him for changing my life. I am a legally married woman because of him and so is my wife.”

She praised Pres. Obama’s “courage and compassion” and said, “I love him, I love Michelle.”

Ditto.

We, all of us, are blessed to have lived at a time when we were given the honor of witnessing this great President and his amazing wife.

And no matter what is coming our way in the future, nobody can ever take that away from us.

  1. Remember people…if you are boycotting the inauguration of the orange turd and his orange turd polishing family…..DO turn on your TV. But turn to a channel like History, PBS, National Geographic…anything but a channel with the inauguration on.

We know how the orange turd follows TV show ratings above anything else….your rating and what you tune in to will only count if you turn on the TV but change it to any other channel.

Working woman here, but have found old sitcom channels cable from 60s-70s to bide my time at night.

Anyone old enough to remember "Laugh In?" Boy, did they ever take it to the idiocy of our government Vietnam era. Still applicable today, and no way would a show like that get on network television in this day and age.

$ 5-4 bet that he’ll visit Russia by the end of the year.

What are and not impeachable offenses:
$ possible Russian blackmail material over Trump?

    $ golden shower?

$ Trump is proven to have been in contact with the Russian government?

$ Is a blow job impeachable?

    Inverse:
Here Are the Current Betting Odds on Trump Being Impeached
A UK betting house says odds are even that he'll be impeached or resign before the end of his first term

Donald Trump is going to be the President of the United States. But if oddsmakers are right, there’s a 50-50 chance that he won’t hold the office for that long. At 4 p.m. Eastern on January 11, the British gambling company Ladbrokes said odds are even that Trump will be impeached or resign before his first term ends. By 5 p.m. the odds had risen even more, to 11-10....

The Constitution states that “Treason, Bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors” are grounds for impeachment. In reality, impeachment is a highly political weapon since Congress defines what a “High Crime and Misdemeanor” is. Heck, if the opposing party is mad enough and has enough power, a blow job is an impeachable offense (if you lie about it in court, that is). Only two presidents, Bill Clinton and Andrew Johnson, have been impeached, though Richard Nixon surely would’ve been had he not resigned in the wake of the Watergate scandal. For Trump to actually be impeached, the highly Republican House of Representatives would have to initiate the process. Here are some of the reasons why they could, perhaps, impeach Trump....

Maybe the British don't understand that the GOP controls both the House and the Senate. 21st century Republicans would never, ever impeach a Republican president. They've been itching to control it all so that they can destroy it all - especially anything that resembles "we the people." With Richard Nixon, the Democrats controlled Congress and there were enough Republicans in Congress who respected the country and believed in the Constitution to support the conclusion that Nixon had to go. I think they smoothed the way for his resignation. Modern Republicans could care less for the country or for its ideals. They only admire money.

And he had to brag and trash at that luncheon today. He always just has to diss people. And lie when doing it. No way in hell does his chosen Cabinet have the highest IQ ever. Seriously?! And of course he never would have let it be known that he hasn't even filled so many key positions that need filling, so that he basically begged 50 Obama people to stay on today and Obama had to make sure that top security personnel would remain. I didn't expect a peep from trump on this, but then did he have to diss the Dems so many times about the Cabinet hearings (he allowed cameras in on the luncheon for part of the dissing and then made them leave) and continue to terast Dem voters and the current admin? I just hate this piece of shit so much.

It was odd how he was first off the plane--so planned--and then he disappeared. We saw all eight of his cousins at the wreath ceremony, but no Barron. The three oldest, after Barron, kids also went to the concert. This was the Trumps' first day of official types of duties, yet the only pic of Barron today was getting off the plane. When he wasn't with Melania when she came down the stairs at the cemetery, I thought surely old Lardass was going to trot out his mini-me when he finally came out of the building and have Barron also walk up to where the wreath was. I know Barron's a kid, but come on! he missed all the important first events and photo ops. But his cousins didn't and were fine being in public. One even stood there and waved up on the stairs at the Lincoln Memorial as all the other family members had turned away and were going inside to see the statue of Lincoln.

Feds Investigating Money Transfers & Communications Between Russia And Trump Associates

The New York Times is out with a story tonight which is little short of astonishing on the eve of a presidential inauguration. From the Times article ..
    .
"American law enforcement and intelligence agencies are examining intercepted communications and financial transactions as part of a broad investigation into possible links between Russian officials and associates of President-elect Donald J. Trump, including his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, current and former senior American officials said."

Just to state this clearly, that means that on the eve of Trump's inauguration the nation's top law enforcement and intelligence agencies are pursuing a counter-intelligence probe of contacts and payments between key members of his campaign and Russia. We have not been here before.

The story goes on to explain that the three Trump associates being scrutinized are Manafort, Roger Stone, and Carter Page, the last of whom was Trump Europe/Russia policy advisor before being dumped after his ties to Russia received press scrutiny. The story goes on to explain that the probe is being led by the FBI with the assistance of the NSA, the CIA and the financial crimes unite of the Treasury Department.

The Times article covers slightly different territory but overlaps pretty clearly with yesterday's article from McClatchy which focused on financial transfers which may have been used to pay hackers working on behalf of Russian intelligence in the US. The agencies reportedly involved are the same.

One point to keep in mind. After noon tomorrow, each of these agencies will work for Donald Trump. He could simply order them to stop. That might be unethical. It might be wrong. People might resign. But all of these people work for the President.

Unsurprisingly, this appears to be the main reason for the leaks. From the Times: "Of the half-dozen current and former officials who confirmed the existence of the investigations, some said they were providing information because they feared the new administration would obstruct their efforts."

The other thread of the story is that the Senate is also beginning to investigate this. Trump can't shut that down, though ultimately the Senate has to work through the intelligence agencies to probe these matters. It gets complicated.

Even tonight during a speech he lies about how he won instead of being gracious....there is no hope. Rachel did a wonderful show on all he did for us, unlike the braggarts before him. U.S. counterintelligence officials are examining possible ties between Russia and Trump associates

    By Ellen Nakashima, Greg Miller
    January 19, 2017 at 11:59 PM

U.S. counterintelligence officials are sifting through intercepted communications and financial data as part of a wider look at possible ties between the Russian government and associates of President-elect Donald Trump, officials said.

But while it has been clear for months that a broad investigation is underway, what remains murky — even to lawmakers receiving closed briefings — is its scope and target. It is unclear if the intercepts being examined have any connection to the Trump campaign.

But the investigation adds to the uncertainty surrounding Trump’s relationship with Russia even as he is sworn in as president. U.S. intelligence agencies have already concluded that Russia interfered in the election to help Trump win....

Sometime before he's sworn in Friday, President-elect Trump will sit down with the top military officers who control America's massive military arsenal and get "THE Briefing," the one that provides him with an understanding — and the tools — of how he would wage nuclear war.

According to those who have witnessed it previously, the briefing is both daunting and sobering. When Donald J. Trump raises his right hand and asks, "So help me God" during the inauguration, he really does become the most powerful man in the world — with control of America's nuclear "triad" and more than 4,000 nuclear warheads...

    Huffington Post
Trump’s Inauguration Welcome Concert Was a Total Disaster

Thursday's inauguration weekend welcome concert did its job, in that it accurately and compellingly set the tone for the new administration and the new America. It didn’t run properly, didn’t reflect your tastes or interests, and you wouldn’t want to purchase a ticket to it—let alone desire to be present to witness the disaster.
Yet here we are. 3 Doors Down is here, too.

    (WHO IS 2 DOORS UP?)

“Make America Great Again! Welcome Celebration Concert” was the much-ballyhooed event that struggled to book major acts to perform.

Toby Keith, Lee Greenwood, the Piano Guys, and the aforementioned 3 Doors Down headlined. By comparison, President Obama’s We Are One concert featured Mary J. Blige, James Taylor, Josh Groban, Sheryl Crow, will.i.am, John Legend, Jennifer Nettles, Garth Brooks, Stevie Wonder, Usher, Shakira, U2, and Bruce Springsteen.
Trump, on the other hand, a man who boasted his entire campaign about his ability to close deals, failed to book a Springsteen cover band for his festivities....

I wonder if FBI Comey stalled his portion of the traitor report so Trump can be sworn in and stop the investigation?

I enjoyed Ellen's video. I will cry during Trumpp's inaugeration because he is a narcissist dangerous man pig. The Trump first family is bizarre. Melania Trump must be an ornament for Donald to trot out to elicit envy in his mind. I did not expect her to fulfill the role of First Lady given his daughter and son in law
were present far more. They may have advised him contributing to his winning the election. However, lying, cheating and empty promises of no substance will not succeed here nor internationally. Watch out world, a pathalogical liar is achieving great power tomorrow. This is frightening.

Now, Republicans, it's all yours. You have it all. Which means you have *NO* excuses when - not IF - YOU FUCK IT UP. I've heard already that you are regretting yanking the ACA. That people are PISSED about it. And you are asking democratic senators and representative to help you "fix" it...I hope they tell you to stuff it up your asses! You do it yourselves! You wanted to repeal and replace and got right on it and look what happened! I hope you like your upcoming town hall meetings! It's gonna get real ugly real fast - that pol in Colorado found that out the hard way; had to sneak out the back door!

I saw this video & went to bed thinking that if I didn't wake up in the morning, it would be ok. I hope there are not too many people out there who feel like they are doomed. I can get through it but I think it's going to be tough.

Too me it feels like a relative passed away. When that happens we do not turn on the TV or the radio in the car.

      Time for reflection

I'm having a news black out today. I just need a break. It does feel like grieving.

Everyone hang in there! We'll be ok. ( that's if you are a white man with money)
