Megyn Kelly jumps ship and leaves Fox for NBC News.

Courtesy of USA Today:

Megyn Kelly is signing off on Fox News to join rival NBC News.

The popular cable network personality is joining the peacock network, where she will anchor a new, one-hour daytime program, Andrew Lack, chairman of the NBCUniversal News Group, said in a statement today.

As part of a broad, multi-year deal, Kelly will also anchor a new Sunday evening news magazine show and contribute to NBC’s breaking news, political and special events coverage.

“Megyn is an exceptional journalist and news anchor, who has had an extraordinary career” Lack said. “She’s demonstrated tremendous skill and poise, and we’re lucky to have her.”

NBC said details on Kelly's duties will be announced in the coming months.

I am going to go out on a limb and suggest that those details involve truckloads of money.

I have developed a little grudging respect for Kelly since she took on Donald Trump early in the campaign season but since it was she who once suggested that Sarah Palin sue me, I don't see myself ever becoming a huge fan.

Personally I will be interested to see how much of Kelly's partisanship depends on which news outlet employs her.

Remember she was all in on that war on Christmas, vociferously attacked Hillary Clinton, and spent the last eight years lobbing insults at the Democrats without any signs of remorse.

So is she suddenly going to embrace liberal politics, or is she going to remain apolitical and simply report the news dispassionately?

It appears missy ugly skank paid her own airfare and paid for her own hotel rooms while "rallying " for trump in Ohio, Louisiana and Michigan plus she paid for her own room at trump international hotel in Vegas when she attended the one debate-that's all I had time to look through and compare dates with expenditures but fun times!!!! We all assumed he hadn't paid and she must have BEGGED to go out and rally for him!!! Baaawwwaaahhh!!! Paging GinaM!!!!!!

Yeah he is going to choose her for VA spot in his cabinet! Sure he is.

They all are in it for themselves. Kelly just adds a somewhat hot blonde factor into the ratings competition, so it seems more obvious.

She will neither embrace liberal politics nor report dispassionately. She's a right winger and will remain that way, embracing liberal ideas only when they affect her directly (such as child care or maternity leave).

She also went back to the Faux-Golden Towers and sucked up for forgiveness. Oh, and she once got into an argument on TV saying Santa was/is white. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XYlJqf4dLI

Once again, the man who will lead the country and its intelligence community is taking a stand for Russia and against the United States.

At this point, nothing that comes from the mouth – or Twitter feed – of Donald Trump should be surprising, but even more red flags were raised on Tuesday when the president-elect made the ridiculous claim that the U.S. intelligence community is building a phony case against Russia.

    Tweet:

...Now, Trump is digging in his heels and defending not the United States, but the country that attacked us.

In a little over two weeks, this is the man who will be President of the United States.

Trump is a traitor (liar and fraud) and should be arrested, go on trial, found guilty and hung from the highest tree in D.C.!

He is the furthest thing from being even somewhat qualified to be potus. What a joke to our country and the world! The majority of Americans despise the man and preferred Hillary Clinton by a substantial margin!

@ 6:41 - I don't understand why he is being given a free pass. Will this change when he is actually sworn in and becomes POTUS? If he continues, as President, to trash his own country in favour of Russia can he be removed from office and tried for treason?

Megyn Kelly’s Departure Is a Big Clue About the Future of Fox News

Megyn Kelly’s decision to jump from Fox News to NBC resolves one of the last unanswered questions of the Roger Ailes scandal: Would she stay or would she go when her contract ended? With her last show set to air on Friday, Kelly’s departure raises a new series of questions about how transferrable her talents are and where Fox News is headed now that the network has lost its biggest star and one of its few hosts with serious mainstream credibility.

For Kelly, the jump from a primetime perch at Fox to a multifaceted role at NBC carries a high degree of risk. She’ll be giving up the most loyal audience in cable news for new set of platforms that she’ll have to largely build herself. At NBC, Kelly will anchor an Oprah-like daytime show, launch a new Sunday night news magazine, and contribute to the network’s political coverage. The track record for talented anchors launching daytime programs hasn’t been good (see: Katie Couric, Meredith Vieira, Anderson Cooper), and no Fox News star has successfully crossed over to the mainstream before. But Kelly’s prodigious talents as a broadcaster, not to mention her canny media instincts, could help her defy the trend.

Sources close to Kelly told me today that her departure is an indication of just how unhappy she had become at Fox in the wake of her high-profile feud with Donald Trump and revelations she had accused Ailes of sexual harassment. Her relationships with Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity in particular had completely broken down, one Fox host told me. “Bill hated her,” the host said. As Kelly’s contract negotiations dragged on during her much-publicized book tour, things also grew strained with Rupert Murdoch, two sources said.

...The one thing Fox insiders are in agreement on is that whoever replaces Kelly will be a pro-Trump conservative. In the wake of Ailes’s ouster, some media observers speculated that 21st Century Fox CEO James Murdoch wanted to reposition Fox to the center, bringing it more in line with his moderate political views. But the selection of a pro-Trump host to fill Kelly’s slot would suggest that Fox is instead doubling down on its right-wing politics and planning to align itself with the new administration. After initially being hostile to Trump, Murdoch has made moves to curry favor with the president-elect.

Talents as a broadcaster? Exactly what? She's an attorney who lies. What talent is that? She's jingo a network that USED to be liberal. Now we have to listen to Hugh Hewitt, Andrea Mitchell, Steve Schmidt, Nicolle Wallace, and more...she'll fit right in bashing the left. And just who will frequent her 'talk show?' Kellyanne with her lie of the day? I won't be watching, but I doubt NBC will get their money's worth from another RW hack, no matter how blond and busty she is.

I just heard on NPR that she was offered 20 million to stay at Fox but in her book she was quoted as saying that it was likely that her next job wouldn't necessarily be the one that paid the most, so perhaps she does have some remorse over all of the damage that she did in her career as a Faux bobblehead blond, we shall see if a bimbo can change its stripes.

Wow, I could swear I read a while back that she wanted 20 mill to stay at Fox and Fox indicated that she wasn't gonna get it.

    2. Anonymous7:31 PM

With her book about to come out she left behind the Fox bimbo look completely. I'm guessing that's when she was meeting with networks that don't hate women.

I'm not surprised she was looking for a new life. Remember how she struggled with Sarah Palin's non-stop insanity? What was there left for her at Fox?

Whoopi Goldberg & Joy Behar Nailed Republicans’ Sneaky Attempts (VIDEO)

Hosts of The View Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar crushed the Republicans for their attempt to obliterate the ethics panel in the dark of the night in a closed-door meeting. It was a dumb move. But as Goldberg says “It’s hard to stand up when you’re spending time on your knees.”

During what was technically part of the holiday break, House Republicans met and voted to gut the Office of Congressional Ethics. It is the only independent ethics guard dog for Congress.

Goldberg talked about the near-president’s promise to “drain the swamp” of Washington corruption:

‘I guess that swamp is stuck.’

    Behar responded:

‘First of all, Congressional ethics is an oxymoron. Particularly in this Congress. But it’s sort of like on the slippery slope towards a dictatorship, you know. “First, we’re going to be very secretive about what we do. We’re going to police ourselves. You’re not going to know what bad things we’re doing. We’re going to keep it very quiet.” It’s very scary.’

Megyn's looks have faded greatly in the last 5 years, she still has nice legs and a smokin' body but her face has lost its charm, especially wit that new haircut; her hair did wonders for her face and really she needs to grow it back out. And I'm sorry but really if one wishes to be treated with a sense of gravitas then please don't spell Megan with a "y", I mean really.

But she can be eye candy for the old farts of this country and the young farts to watch her. Remember the misogyny? It didn't leave out the door with Hillary. The men just got their way and their dicks went down temporarily.

Looks like NBC is going to move into the Fox News type of network. Everyday the MSNBC side of the network spends more time interviewing Trumps minions and less time covering progressive news & politicians. Might be just 3 hours of non Trump loving hosts left on that network. Morning Joe is going to have to be surgically removed from The Donald's posterior some day.

If you read her charmless autobiography you find she's as Right-wing as they come, in her attitudes. She goes on and on and on (and on) about how good it was that her mother kept telling her that there was nothing special about her, that she was just average.... she doesn't notice what a stinking, driven, competitive approval-seeker she becomes. Zero insight. She can shove her show, I wouldn't watch her for money.

    LOL! BAM!

They told him. There is only one president and that is PRESIDENT OBAMA.

The Pentagon on Tuesday rejected a renewed call by President-elect Donald Trump to stop releasing detainees from the military prison at Guantanamo Bay.

"We're going to carry out the appropriate policies set forth by **the commander-in-chief**," Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook said at a press conference. Secretary of Defense Ash Carter would continue to follow instructions from President Barack Obama on transferring detainees legally and safely, Cook said. When pressed about Trump's stated intentions, Cook said there is only one commander-in-chief at a time.

So, we're supposed to fall for her one trick special just because she acted all high and mighty with the Cheeto? What about all the damage she reigned down on those dumb enough to follow her all these years. Are we now moving more cleavage and sexuality to mainstream - as if there wasn't enough already! I'm so sick of blonde sell outs like her. She's a snake and will always be a Faux News skank - I put her in the same pile of dung as Palin. That's as low as one can go.
