New Trump team strategy, hacks happen every election period and this one did not change the outcome.

Damn do I dislike this woman!

Courtesy of The Hill:

Instead of focusing on the crux of the report — that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a multifaceted campaign aimed at helping Trump take the White House — members of the president-elect's team emphasized Russia's failure to actually disrupt the country's democracy and influence election results.

Incoming Chief of Staff Reince Priebus said Sunday he thinks Trump accepts the findings of the intelligence community.

"He is not denying that entities in Russia were behind this particular hacking campaign," Priebus told "Fox News Sunday."

But, he alleged, that's not new.

"It happens every election period," he said.

Okay that is simply not true.

But even if it were true it would not matter unless the people doing the hacking released that information out into the new media in order to benefit the candidate they wanted to win.

Here is more of Kellyanne's spin on this topic:

She said foreign entities hacking the U.S. is not new and sought to pivot from discussing election meddling, alleging that under President Obama there have been hacks of the Department of Defense and Department of State.

"Very concerning," she said of such cyber attacks on NBC's "Meet The Press," noting there was " very little punishment." Americans should know the country is "woefully unprepared for cybersecurity in the 21st century," she added.

At the same time, she maintained that Russia's attempt to meddle in the presidential race had failed.

"They did not succeed. They did not succeed to embarrassing this country on the world stage," she said.

"They did not succeed in throwing the election to Donald Trump. That's very clear in this report."

As I have mentioned before that last part is not even mentioned in the report.

So to sum up the Trump team's talking points are, there is nothing new about this, it did not change the outcome of the election, and the news media is blowing this all out of proportion.

It may be a little challenging, but remember THESE are the REPUBLICANS, talking about RUSSIA.

Russia was the GOP's go to bogeyman for decades.

But now that they have actually undermined our democratic process we get, "Move on, nothing to see here."

And they are not alone, Trump voters seem to be in total agreement:

“Sour grapes,” explained Bob Marino, 79, weighing in on the recent spycraft bombshell from the corner table of a local McDonald’s.

“Sour grapes,” agreed Roger Noel, 65, sitting next to him.

“Bunch of crybabies,” Reed Guidry, 64, offered from across the table.

But Mr. Gubert came to a different conclusion.

“If that’s what it took,” he said, “I’m glad they did it.”

And that is how America was taken over by a hostile foreign government boys and girls.

NOT after a long and destructive world war, but with a few simply hacks, a compliant media, and a complacent electorate.

There is no way of knowing if they succeeded in advantaging trump or not. And i have news for Kellyanne - she and her boss have embarrassed this country on the world stage.

    1. Anonymous6:32 AM

Of course they did. Lots of Trump supporters were overjoyed whenever another fake Clinton "scandal" was bandied about on the internet. They weren't paying attention to what was really going on and they never tried to listen to what the Clinton campaign was proposing - measures to help the very people who turned out for Trump, people who spent the last eight years accusing President Obama of being a "communist" or a "socialist."

  2. Anonymous4:41 PM

She is a practiced liar, as are all the Trump surrogates. They work for the Liar in Chief.

    1. Anonymous5:46 PM

It's all they do and have been doing since the election. Steve Cortes is one of the worst. You can see now, though, that the anchors are getting tired of this crap.

    2. Anonymous6:54 PM

She is really good at catapulting the bs!

  3. Anonymous4:43 PM

Those old farts in Louisiana probably think Fox News is "fair and balanced".

    1. Anonymous7:45 PM

I'm an old fart in Louisiana and am embarrassed by the people here. No wonder I spend my time on line and with my family.

  4. Anonymous4:52 PM

And, took over a dumbed-down portion of our society! Unbelievable! And, Trump is just as inept as many of those Americans that voted for him!

The men and women he has named to his administration (if they are ALL vetted and hearings held on each of them and make it through!?) are going to direct Trump in his decisions. Read about his appointees - they truly are a frightening bunch! More war is ahead of us! And, Putin and Russia will now become our best allies? God forbid! Review our history as to Russia and the life of KGB agent, V. Putin!

We are being led to slaughter!

  5. Anonymous5:07 PM

Man that Kellyanne is looking old. It must wear on the soul to lie like that.

    1. Anonymous5:47 PM

Old and uglier. That slathered on makeup only made her look worse. On Tapper, she reminded me of Gloria Swanson ready for her closeup.

    2. Anonymous6:27 PM

      Just like Sarah

    3. Anonymous6:55 PM

How does she go home and look her daughters in the eye after a day of lying like that? Man, the interior of her brain must be a hot mess.

    4. Anonymous7:13 PM

Ugly on the outside, even uglier on the inside!

    5. Anonymous8:50 PM

I hope that I look as good as she does when I'm in my mid 90s.

BTW, where did O'Reilly and Fox get the photo of Jesse they used in the piece with Megyn Kelly discussing the Palin divorce. No offense but it was a dreadful pic.

  6. Anonymous5:18 PM

She reminds me of the talking skeleton freak show at some amusement park. The she clown is a talking barracuda. The woman was trained to twist, spin and spill lies from spies with a straight face. How does she explain this to her kids? Mommys job is______?

  7. Anonymous5:21 PM

You lie. The election was rigged and trump team coordinated with pooty bots. YOU PEOPLE are busted and you know it. You did not win and the world knows it.

  8. Anonymous5:23 PM

Remember, folks, most if not all of Trumps surrogates are Xians.. so much for the Bible when politics take over.

  9. Anonymous5:28 PM

Good Grief !!!! What is wrong with these people? Are they so disconnected from reality that they don't know when to fold? Its over. You cheated and got caught RED handed with short fingers you Republican un-American ding dongs. WTF traitors?....

  10. Anonymous5:29 PM

Putin and our very own FBI.

  11. WA Skeptic5:40 PM

Watch out for the guys in green camo running around the country knocking protesters off. (Just like Crimea) We've been annexed to the Russian empire, now run by the Emperor Vlad, we're a wholly-owned subsidiary.

    1. Anonymous8:04 PM

No your not...ask Gryphen. The end will be a hum dinger for sure...

    2. Anonymous8:18 PM

Yup, a done deal already. We're in the thick of it.

    3. Anonymous5:25 AM

Will this HUGE BIGLY federal election crime be over? today? this week? When? When will the Adults step in?

  12. Anonymous5:42 PM

People there is nothing new about Russian sympathizers in America. Russian Red Scare was in early 1920's and 1950's Hollywood. This is the same, do your research, the tactics and game plan are the same. "Redbaiter" is a term used in espionage tactics to divert attention from the real subject matter. The difference today is the party avenue their taking through the complete mess of a Republican party in America. 16 clowns and this is the best?

    1. Anonymous6:29 AM

This time it's an incumbent president and his whole administration plus a complaint Congress that is tainted. Can we count on a GOP Congress to investigate a GOP president? Methinks not.

  13. Anonymous5:44 PM

Seems that it's not treason if the Republicans do it.

  14. Anonymous5:45 PM

And today Hillary goes to see the Color Purple on Broadway and gets three standing ovations.

Take that, Conway, Pence, and Trump.

  15. Anonymous5:46 PM

Fox is talking about the most important news of the day. Rain, snow, megan and new nbc job, Greta and friends at msnbc, the new cabinet and the need to rush the vetting like in 08 palin type security. Yep. Hurry before we get caught.

  16. Anonymous6:07 PM

I'm no different than some of you readers.

Today I drove past a terrible accident on the freeway and as I passed it, I'm praying that everybody in the accident is alive.

I am not a violent person but I will tell you that I wish everyone involved, everyone who has knowledge of any illegal doings that enabled Trump to win would have God reach down their throats and pull out their cheating guts and let vultures fill their stomachs.

How did Americans stain our flag with the Trumps and everybody in this upcoming administration?

    1. Anonymous6:41 PM

I am with you. And I feel like I just keep saying this when debating people, but in this particular case I cannot accept that there was a reason to vote for the GOP candidate. The fact that he has stolen powerless people's money and even livelihoods from them and has assaulted so any women is appalling. Forget everything else. Those two things alone make him a criminal and a debased POS. You don't vote for someone who does these things. There is no acceptable reason.

If I believe Trump is absolutely dangerous to the country I love, then of course I want him out of there, and I don't care how it happens. Every time I hear Trump's latest and see how the GOP in the new Congress are already operating to shut down what is right, I wish them all dead. And when I see Conway, who like others is happily doing all she can to aid and abet, I wish her dead too. And when I hear a Trump voter speak and let it be known that s/he accepts all of Trump's behavior, I wish them some really bad karma--and I know it will come soon when Trump starts taking away all the things they've taken for granted.

    2. Anonymous6:57 PM

"I wish them some really bad karma--and I know it will come soon when Trump starts taking away all the things they've taken for granted."
I saw a tweet today from someone sitting next to an old man at a doctor's office. The man was complaining he wanted "them" to take away Obamacare, not the ACA.
People that stupid really must need keepers to get through life.

    3. Anonymous8:04 PM

Wow. What that old man said.

It's also painful watching Trump voters get interviewed on TV by reporters who are trying to present their POV with absolute respect. The voters say the most inane things. They rationalize not thinking at all about how their votes were votes for someone so low (they'll even pretty much say he is this) and a criminal thief and assaulter.

  17. Anonymous6:12 PM

It's not just crazy Alex Jones sites. I have no doubt people like those in the above article in their 60s and up fell for false news. I have a friend who fell for this story, and checking Snopes proved it fake. I have no idea how we can get people to know the difference.

"Although the Seattle Tribune appears to be the digital edition of a real city newspaper, it is simply one of many fake news sites (along with the Boston Tribune and the Baltimore Gazette) that mimics the appearance of real metropolitan news outlets in order to spread hoaxes and generate ad revenue. The Seattle Tribune is the latest front employed by the well known fake news purveyor Associated Media Coverage"

"On 4 January 2017 the Seattle Tribune web site published an article reporting that six individuals protesting the election of Donald Trump were killed in the course of blocking a freeway"

  18. Anonymous6:16 PM

Yeah Meryl Streep adding to Hugh Laurie's line about reviled Hollywood, Foreign, Press.

I love how she listed that Hollywood people are from around the country and around the world.

I hope they do form a committee to hold the press accountable.

It is no accident Trump is snubbed for his inauguration by entertainers.

    1. Anonymous7:55 PM

      What she said tonight--perfect.

  19. Anonymous6:17 PM

Well now finally some truth kinda. Yes Kelly anne there have been quite a few elections rigged lately in the 50 states and around the world? Imagine that? How many seats did democrats get cheated out of since 2012 again? Got Riggers? Got um in every state for the last 5 yrs for sure.

  20. Anonymous6:21 PM

First, Trump tweeted his complaint about MTP not showing all of the Conway interview and said again "dishonest media" this morning at 8:46. MTP had already posted a tweet at 8:17 saying that the entire interview could be watched at the NBC MTP website. Even if Trump had had a cow and this caused MTP to post the whole thing, Trump's tweet should have been reworded--instead, he just let it appear as if nothing had been done to, as he'd have seen it, rectify the situation. Yet, of course, he also included at his Twitter page a link to the interview. Anyone paying attention to the times realized that Todd's people had the whole interview available already.

There was no reason to show the whole thing. This happens a lot. Portions are used, whether with a panel there to discuss things or not. Today, Todd wanted people's responses to a couple things Conway said. That was it. And it was Todd's prerogative. His show was packed with other interviews that deserved to be shown in full or larger part than Conway's. And I watched the whole thing online. At least twice Todd had to call her out and tell her not to "conflate" Trump/Putin/Russia's hacking with other "countries/groups/behaviors" going on. He had to keep interrupting her to get her to answer his questions. He had to remind her "what this investigation is about" on keep her focused. All she wanted to do was spin and deflect. No way in hell should Todd have felt that interview needed to be shown in larger part or in full.

  21. Anonymous6:31 PM

We all need to wish JennyJo a happy birthday. Getting married and hanging out during our many pregnancies has been soooo cool!

  22. Anonymous6:49 PM

I have been checking Malcolm Nance's Twitter a lot these days. Love when he's a guest on the cable news. I wish that one of these days one of the MSNBC hosts would just let him use the whole hour. On his Twitter he gets so many interesting visitors with tidbits. Michael McFaul, former ambassador to Russia and who's at Stanford, is one. He has also been on cable a lot lately. As Nance says, he and McFaul tried months ago to get people to listen to them re the Russian hacking--people in-the-know were saying it. McFaul is saying today, but I have no details, that Putin is going to pull out of Syria (just two days ago people were insisting he'd stay) and won't be helping Trump with ISIS, that Trump will be on his own. Also, this tweet re Trump's sleazy past is very interesting. Check it out. If you can get the story's print bigger, great:

  23. Anonymous6:49 PM

The Republicans have been playing the two faced game for so long, Americans are numbed to the brain. Now, it's Russia's fault they are saying. But they conveniently omit the fact that they left the keys to the door of our democracy for the Russians to come right in.
I wonder why, they are so darned in a rush to turn our country over to Putin? That's the question.

    1. Anonymous7:23 PM

Natural resources, sanctions lifted, trump debt, uranium, oil, dicktater ball fest, development, destruction, oppression, control, for starters. Why else?

  24. Gryph is there anything legally that can and will be done. Did Nixon get impeached for this or have I smoked to many joints in my day. I'm having a real hard time with the complacency that is happening with this. Haven't laws been broken.

    1. Anonymous7:36 PM

So far, all Rump has broken is traditions.

After he is sworn in, then he will be breaking laws.

    2. Anonymous6:25 AM

Nixon was impeached but resigned before the trial. The difference now is that the Democrats controlled both Senate and House back then. With the GOP in control, nothing will be done. The question that Trump and all of his advisors and spokespeople must be asked UNDER OATH is "what did you know and when did you know it?' - the question asked of all Watergate Nixon administration members who testified before the Senate committee so long ago. It was Sen. Howard Baker's question and it needs to be asked again. By the way, the tapes convinced Sen. Baker (R-TN) of Nixon's guilt. Back in the 1970's, there were obviously some Republicans with integrity. Not so now.

  25. Anonymous7:02 PM

It seems that the Republican story is like the Jurassic Park movies. Each time they come back their dinosaurs get worst. Horrors. When will it end? Will we as a country morph into something better? Or are we destined to keep going back and forth? Was kinda hoping we kept up the steady progression of improvements to our mean country when Obama was in. He was a healer. But there are those that can't stand peace and quiet. They must have war and chaos.

    1. Anonymous7:52 PM

Yes. And what you say reminds me of another series, the Alien movies. In all these types of series there is someone who is selfish who tries sneaking back to Earth or to the regular part of Earth a being that has destroyed and destroyed and will destroy again, or who will become capable of destroying. These people either don't care or they think they can control it. They talk about fame and money for doing it. The selfish, rules-don't-apply-to-me GOP politicians are these guys to me.

  26. Anonymous7:37 PM

So The golden globes happened. You know the awards show owned by China's richest man.

    1. Anonymous10:56 PM

It'd be worth the price of admission to hear that Chinese man say the words "Golden Globe".

  27. Anonymous7:47 PM

This speech by Meryl Streep at the Golden Globes Awards tonight says it all.

I hope Gryphen will post it in a new thread.

  28. Anonymous8:34 PM

I image traitor trump will be busy on twitter slamming Meryl Streep tonight

Streep at golden globes took little fingers donnie down with class and style:

“Streep took things in a much more serious direction, excoriating Trump without mentioning his name in an impassioned speech as she accepted the Cecil B. DeMille Award.

The much-respected actress, who spoke on behalf of Hillary Clinton at this year's Democratic National Convention, said the "performance" that had most stunned her this year was when Trump had mocked a disabled reporter.

"It was the moment when the person asking to sit in the most respected seat in our country imitated a disabled reporter, someone he outranked in privilege, power and the capacity to fight back," Streep said. "This instinct to humiliate, when it's modeled by someone ... powerful, it filters down into everybody's life. Because it kind of gives permission for other people to do the same thing."

Streep also referenced Trump's policies on immigration when she pointedly listed the multicultural heritage of many Hollywood actors.

"Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners and if you kick them all out, you'll have nothing to watch but football and mixed martial arts, which are not the arts," Streep said, to cheers”.

    1. Anonymous11:01 PM

I loved seeing Streep's speech printed in its entirety in the NYT. (Also her intro by Viola Davis.) And I love that the NYT printed it and had an interview with trump. When Trump later realized, if he has yet, that the Times printed that speech, it must have really pissed him off.

After midnight sometime--the article said early Monday morn--Trump spoke w/ the NYT by phone and said Streep was a Hillary supporter and he wasn't surprised by her and others' comments. He said he hadn't seen/heard the speech. Presumably, then, the paper called him rather than the other way around. Trump likes to make calls when he doesn't want something in tweeting. Now, it's hard to believe that on a Sunday night Melania had anything to do stuck up there in Tweet Tower. It's easy to picture her wanting to see all the dresses, jewels, bodies and hair on the red carpet and on stage. And Trump would have watched, too, at least on and off. But maybe he was actually busy. Okay. But I bet Mel saw and she saw how many people referenced her asshole husband.

I love that, in the days before Trump's nothing in inaugural, there was this big awards show with the artists dissing Trump, that Hillary got standing ovations at the Color Purple, that the Obamas' Friday A-list party rocked, that MO was gorgeous and made a fantastic speech in her red dress, that BO was honored by the military and gave such a good speech, that there will be a telethon on Facebook the day of the inauguration (but I am PO'd about the concert that never took shape--lame), and that so many people waited out in the freezing cold in Chicago to get tickets to BO's final speech. All of these things have shown Trump what a nothing he really is. He has his big rallies of hateful yahoos. So what.

  29. Anonymous8:43 PM

So who is singing the russian national anthem at the inauguration and will putin be the most honored guest.

Kelly ConArtist can lie all she wants, in fact it appears she has already moved on to a new lie, people that have an opened mind know traitor trump was elected by russia.

St Ronnie is rolling over in his grave, the evil empire has taken over the USA.

  30. Martin Shkreli got banned from Twitter.

When the new announced the most hated man on Twitter got banned, I thought they were talking about Trump.

  31. Yeah, they'll be beating that "didn't change the outcome" horse to death, then kicking it long after the corpse has decomposed.

  32. Anonymous2:59 AM

What floors *me* is not only the speed of these peoples' ideological flip-flops and concurrent cognitive dissonance ( they HATE communism but have come to now LOVE Putin ) the fact of these peoples respective AGES! They are very close to the age of my (now late) father who was deployed during the Cuban Missile Crisis. You can imagine how, collectively, our country felt about Russia *then*! Hypocrites! How can they live with themselves!

'But Mr. Gubert came to a different conclusion.

“If that’s what it took,” he said, “I’m glad they did it.”'

-THAT'S the statement that made me the angriest.

  33. Anonymous3:57 AM

No, hacking of American elections by Russians has not happened before but it happened this time with the intention of changing the outcome of November's election. If Trump and his minions were not so worried about having been caught at it they wouldn't be running around like chickens with their heads cut off ever since the release of the intelligence report.

The hacking worked and it should worry all of us. It should never be allowed to happen again.

The British expressed concern as early as during primary season and they have been tracking communications with Russia by Trump advisors for quite a while. The British are worried as must be all members of NATO! Trump will probably start tweeting rude things about Britain and its leaders as soon as he gets over Meryl Streep's amazing speech at the Golden Globe awards last night.

  34. Anonymous5:11 AM

You know? if this is what it takes to expose LIARS, CRIMINALS and rid the World, Republican party of riggers, hackers and liars? than so be it. Let it Roll.....

Don't feed the trolls!
It just goes directly to their thighs.
