I love the fact that Trump being Putin's puppet is now being broadcast into American living rooms all over the country.
I think that is what people need to be reminded of over and over again.
And SNL beating that drum WILL make a difference.
It helped to illustrate Sarah Palin's ignorance, and it will certainly help to underline Trump's allegiances.
Donald Trump represents the Kremlin, not America.
This was so funny... Loved the Onama tribute at the end of the show.

ReplyDeletehttp://www.thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/johnwright/trump_blows_kiss_to_fbi_director_james_comey_who_helped_him_win_election
I'm glad to see this being brought up. I happened to watch that earlier today while doing chores and I could swear Trump made a kissing type gesture to James Comey. It was very strange!
DeleteOT, sort of, but not really... Has anyone else noticed the word "litigated" showing up in the news reports of the past couple of days where it is not in reference to a court case?
ReplyDeleteFor example, Kellyanne Conway, in her announcement today that Surprise! Trump will NOT be releasing his tax returns, told ABC News:
"We litigated this all through the election, people didn’t care, they voted for him."
In the amazing Meet the Press interaction between Chuck Todd and Kellyanne Conway, he said:
"So I'm curious why President Trump chose yesterday to send out his press secretary to essentially litigate a provable falsehood when it comes to a small and petty thing like inaugural crowd size."
And later, Kellyanne said when trying to pivot and reframe the conversation to talk about the hacking/Russia intelligence having no impact on the election (i.e. that Hillary lost "fairly and squarely"):
"We just litigated all this in the campaign."
Does it seem weird to anybody else?
It seems weird to me but given the fact that there are so many lawyers in government, it isn't surprising.
DeleteYes, I commented on another thread about her choice of the word “litigated” and want to know when was the trial.
DeleteIs kelly alternative facts conArtist an attorney?
Is it this to make it sound like a court decided that he doesn’t have to show his returns or it is because of this:
Ethics lawyers kick off ‘wave of litigation’ Monday by suing Trump over foreign payments
http://www.rawstory.com/2017/01/ethics-lawyers-to-sue-trump-on-monday-over-foreign-payments/
Yes, good point, and as far as the Trump team goes, it looks like Kellyann is using it to validate Trump's refusal. She's a lawyer but is not in a courtroom but she acts like she is and has won her case or at least her knowledge shouldn't be questioned. And someone else using the word is calling attention to that this is what Trump's trying to do. He is so used to getting what he wants and there's always this language of intimidation because he's right and everyone else is wrong. Well, if Kellyann is such a good lawyer, she ought to speak for Trump against the experts on constitutional lawyer--including at least one lawyer who has argued before SCOTUS--after they file against Trump Monday morning.
DeleteNo. Not weird. These are uneducated people. Par for the course. Like unpresidented, pundints, Africa is a country, etc.
DeleteI don't think that word means what they think it means.
DeleteOr I'm wrong.
Stupid people get words wrong all the time so this doesn't surprise me. Trump and his surrounds are some of the dumbest people ever let lose on this country, even those like Kelly Anne with her "degrees" , they are still just ignorant people who have a tenuous grasp on the English languag
DeleteIt could be that they are tryingh to turnthe word into something trivial; litigated = talked about.
DeleteThat way, when lawsuits against trump are actually being litigated, in the courts, nobody will thin it is important.
I agree with you, Nefer. Litigate was not the correct word choice. A more appropriate word would have been "address" or "talk about" or "argue about." Litigation is for courtrooms. The whole Trump administration must see every contact with a citizen in an adversarial context.

ReplyDeleteOMG,
I had to feel bad for Melania. Wife of a billionaire suddenly looking like she's a country bumpkin. She thought it was such a nice and appropriate gesture. It was, but of course it was in front of cameras and the Trumps made sure it was from Tiffany's and that everyone would know it. Some aide could have brought the box over later.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Melania meant well but that was a very awkward thing to do at that time and place. If she wanted to give Michelle something she should have done it when they met the week after the election.
DeleteShe's a country bumpkin alright, just not from OUR country.
DeleteMaybe Melania thought that, since Michelle Obama is an African America, she might not feel comfortable going into a posh shop like Tiffany. Who knows?

Julia Hahn, a staff writer at Breitbart News, is expected to join the White House – a move that further underscores Breitbart’s influence in the new administration.
According to two sources briefed on the move, Hahn’s title will be special assistant to the president and she is expected to primarily work under White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, himself a former key player at Breitbart. Prior to joining Donald Trump’s campaign, Bannon, an outspoken populist and member of the president’s inner circle, was chairman of the conservative website.
Along with speechwriter Stephen Miller, Bannon and Hahn form a nationalist wing of the administration – one that has shaped its intellectual worldview. The influence of Bannon and Miller was apparent in Trump’s inaugural address, which was packed with populist rhetoric....

Flynn’s communications with Russia investigated: report
U.S. counterintelligence agents investigated National Security Adviser Michael Flynn’s communications with Russian officials, the Wall Street Journal reported Sunday night.
Flynn is the first person inside President Trump’s White House whose communications are known to have been combed as part of a multiagency investigation by the FBI, CIA and National Security Agency, among others, into whether Russia’s government secretly helped elect Trump....
But the White House denied the investigation on Sunday.
“We have absolutely no knowledge of any investigation or even a basis for such an investigation,” White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said in a statement to the paper...

I actually started crying when they sang To Sir With Love at the end of the show. One day America will realize that Obama was one of the best presidents. The destruction of his legacy just makes me so sad because it was to help and protect people. He didn't serve the 1% and didn't try to make money off his presidency and power. Such a honourable, honest, respectable, dedicated, caring man -- words cannot adequately describe the strength of his character or compassion. To Sir With Love.

Warning!! – A Petulant Child Is Loose In the Oval Office
ReplyDeleteTrump spent his first full day on the job complaining that he is not getting the human-turned-god treatment he feels he deserves like he gets at home.
...Look, there are myriad reasons to detest Donald Trump and this column intends on spending no small amount of words elucidating each and every reason on every occasion possible. However, one reason should not be because there he is a petulant and spoiled rotten child crying like a baby that nobody likes him on his first full day sitting in the Oval Office; a place he, like any snot-nosed little rich kid, has no right even visiting without strict adult supervision much less working in alone.
Every person in America, and the world, likely comprehends that poor Donald Trump needs constant adulation and acts of obeisance even when he is being a cruel and inhumane liar; even if it is false praise. Every human being needs some sense of self-worth or there would be no reason for living; unless they are an enlightened Buddhist. However, the preponderance of human beings actually accomplish something, no matter how insignificant, that gives them a personal sense of worth. But they damn sure don’t cry like spoiled rich kids when the world fails to hang on their every utterance and cheer wildly even when they are being cruel or pathetically incompetent.

Trump should have been happy that anyone wanted to go to his inauguration. Just imagine how those people feel. The head of a nearby county's Republican Party was thrilled to take the trip (before she did). She's reported by the newspaper as saying that she can breathe at last. I wonder if she's still saying that. All Trump's done since Friday is lie and claim that President Obama's 2009 crowd was actually his crowd. Trump should be proud that a whole quarter-of a-million people wanted to see him.

Rocky First Weekend for Trump Troubles Even His Top Aides
...Mr. Trump grew increasingly angry on Inauguration Day after reading a series of Twitter messages pointing out that the size of his inaugural crowd did not rival that of Mr. Obama’s in 2009. When he awoke on Saturday morning, after his first night in the Executive Mansion, the glow was gone, several people close to him said, and the new president was filled anew with a sense of injury.
