The Obamas throw a massive going away party literally overflowing with celebrities.

Courtesy of Time Magazine:

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama hosted a farewell party on Friday night, and celebrities flocked to the White House for the event.

Attendees included Solange Knowles, John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, Jerry Seinfeld, Nick Jonas, Jordin Sparks, Usher, Kelly Rowland, La La Anthony, Jay Pharoah and Chance the Rapper, according to celebrity posts on social media.

The A-list affair stood in contrast to the upcoming inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump, who has struggled to find entertainers willing to perform at the event.

Meryl Streep, Paul McCartney, Tom Hanks, George and Amal Clooney, Stevie Wonder, Robert De Niro, George Lucas, Lena Dunham, David Letterman, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bruce Springsteen, Chris Rock, Tyler Perry, Jason Sudeikis, Jon Hamm and Tracy Ellis Ross were also spotted arriving, according to CNN reporter Betsy Klein.

Well it's certainly a good thing the guy who once produced a show called "Celebrity Apprentice" does not care about celebrities, or he might be jealous or something.

Hell some of these celebrities even waited outside in the cold to get into to this celebration.

I wonder how long the lines will be for the Trump inauguration?

That's just mean, isn't it?

But, it was NOT funded by taxpayers! That is the kicker.

I'll wager others would not put up funds for Trump's Ball that he is having in NYC! He's touting he'll pay for it himself!

Think he is trying to out do The Obama's farewell party which he'll never do!

He and his wife will never be able to show themselves being better and superior to President Obama and First Lady Michelle.

Nor, will The Donald gain the love, respect and admiration from the majority of Americans when he actually holds the job of the presidency.

Trump is going to wallow in his crap and hate every minute of this new job because it is going to be a fight for him every step of the way! Americans are not going to support or bow down to him! Shit, he'll end up hiding in his Trump Towers most of the time - avoiding the press and media and Americans that will shot nasty things to him when he's in public!

He wants the 'inauguration' stroll/walk made shorter because he is not physically able to walk the original distance and it will be too cold for the fat, white elitist!

He'll flunk the job as president with one big "F"!

What an outstanding event for the Obamas! I'm so sorry to see the two of them soon leaving the White House! They truly are a lovely couple!

The Trumps will never measure up to them. They just don't have the kindness, grace and classiness as do the Obamas!

I read that Trump is happy with a shortened inaugural parade (many usual participants want nothing to do with it) because he wants to get to work right away! McConnell says the ACA will be done in by the Senate by the end of the week and the House will probably trash it in minutes. I doubt they'll send it on to President Obama for his veto before January 20th, so maybe that will be Trump's first bill signing. What a disaster.

On a happier note, this White House party looks like it would have been a real treat.

Trump will show up for the ceremonial signing away of our rights, one by one. Gonna make America Great all right. If you're a rich white male. And that is truly all the GOP cares about anyway. McConnell and Ryan are as evil as Trump. They all follow Satan.

They are NOT going to be able to dismantle The Affordable Care Act. The Republicans are already pealing back w/their rhetoric...they don't have a replacement and there are too many millions of Americans that have insurance through the Act that would lose it upon 'repeal' and no replacement.

That would create an uprising against the Republicans in Congress (and move to others across the country). They would lose millions of votes (their Republican party) in the next election cycle if they do it and they finally have realized it!

They are carrying on the big talk, but I seriously believe nothing will be done unless and until there is something to replace it with immediately.

They truly do operate as assholes and Paul Ryan lies straight to our faces on TV interviews! He's such a good practicing Catholic - NOT! I hope he goes to confession often!

      Delete
    4. Anonymous4:01 PM

Oh no, I am betting he is steamed because so many groups are refusing to participate. So the parade will be shorter than anyone elses ever because no one wants to be in it.

      Delete
    5. Anonymous8:50 PM

It is a shorten parade so no one notices there isn't anyone participating.

President Obama is delivering his official farewell address in Chicago Tuesday night, Jan 10.

My daughter raised a LOT of money for him in 2008 and 2012, so, she's been invited to the speech and the VIP party afterward.

More A-listers will be in Chicago.

She lives on Capitol Hill and is flying to London to visit a friend 19 - 21 January so she's out of town for the inauguration.

Meanwhile, all the folks I know are praying for one of DC's famous blizzards on inauguration day.

The sweetest part about those suffering in flyover country is that they won't have it any easier, in fact, smart money is on things getting much, much worse for them they they are now.

Those that work multiple jobs will still have to work multiple jobs, the unemployed will see reduced unemployment benefits, PLUS lose their healthcare and there will be no Medicaid to fall back on.

They will have reduced Social Security and Medicare to look forward to in the future and no social benefits such as food relief and welfare to feed them now.

They made their bed and the rest of us will remind them of that every time we hear them whining about it.

They were just a bunch of angry people with very little political knowledge who believed every lie they were fed and made a choice in the voting booth, some of them for the first time, that will cost them and their families dearly for the next decade.

So, boo fucking hoo, I hope that their churches will feed them because my tax dollars are thankfully no longer going towards supporting them and their too-large and unplanned broods of dirty children.

Suck it up buttercups and welcome to your great depression, enjoy the ride!

Most of the population of this country lives along the many coasts: the Atlantic, the Gulf, the Pacific and the Great Lakes and then there's Alaska and Hawaii. Unfortunately, in Trumpland, all of us are going to suffer no matter where we live.

Those of us who were smart enough to vote for Democrats know all too well what the GOP has in store. All we had to do was look at what total GOP control has done in the state of Kansas. And there's no more "heart of America" than Kansas. It the people living in "America's heartland" haven't learned a thing from that example, it's because they haven't paid any attention. GOP members of Congress have wanted to end Social Security since 1933 (when it began); they've gone after Medicare ever since it began and now they've got their chance to demolish the ACA. These voters should have known better but they preferred ignorance to intelligence. As a result we're all stuck with Trumpland.

Mind you, entertainers do bring lots of happiness to the world. That's all good.

And the media's focus on entertainment is understandable because they are mainly owned by entertainment conglomerates. But I'd like to see some balance between beauty and good thinking.

Wow traitor trump really fooled you with his bubba hat.

He wouldn't mingle with "real americans' if the world ended.

His life ambition is to be accepted by the Manhattan elite which is never goin' happen.

I guess I don't understand the point of the guest list. Are they all close personal friends of the President? Probably not. Then why invite famous people? Who gets anything from that? But then, I guess that's just me.

I guess it interests people that follow celebrities or are really into movies/music and know who these people are. Me, I've not heard of 80% of the guest list and don't care about any of the pomp and circumstance surrounding any politicians, from the inaugural right down to the correspondents dinner and other dog and pony shows.

Just be a good POTUS that's all I care about.

    1. More like that everyone doesn't adore their Führer to the extent they do.

While I expect the Obama's invited people, I'll bet they also had requests to be invited to attend.

Stone face says all these little procedural complaints are just democrat sore losers. Wow? Somebody needs to take stone face, his wife and Kelly annie down to the library of congress and force him to write ESPIONAGE AND TREASON 400 million times each and he and Kelly anne can then tweet give a major news announcement after they complete their assignment. So sick of lousy actors and con artist for trump.
