Donald Trump admits that he got that fake Sweden attack story from Fox News, and then attacks media for pointing out it was fake.

So to be clear it was not the fault of Fox News for reporting a now debunked fake news story, or Donald Trump's fault for then exaggerating it to make a point.

Instead it is the fault of the media for doing their job to point out that the story is false.

Does that mean that all of these tweets from Sweden mocking Trump for making shit up about their country  are ALSO fake?

Trust me, there are many more at the link.

But see that's the thing.

After being mocked during the Bush administration for having a barely coherent, short bus riding, moron in the White House, we then had eight years of the coolest, most intelligent, leader on the planet.

During those eight years other countries looked at us with envy.

And then what happens? We end up with a guy so ill informed and stupid that he makes George W. Bush look like an intellectual giant.

There is hope! To rid ourselves of this Orange monster, before the China and or Iran or north Korea or other countries attack!
Trump/bannon trying real hard to start trouble with other nations.

I am afraid -- really afraid -- that Trump wants all the powers of a War President. I am sure with Bannon's help, they will start one.

    2. Four ways to impeach Trump.

    ‘I’m a Dead Man Walking’

Mark Sanford has nothing left to lose. And he’s here to haunt Donald Trump.

Will Republicans Break With Trump Over Russia?

So says Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House intelligence committee, who predicts his GOP colleagues will come around to his way of thinking.

    ...Trump is “dangerously naive.”

He has a “pathological unwillingness to criticize anything the Kremlin does.” He is discrediting U.S. intelligence agencies and “telling the world they can’t be believed.”

As for Trump’s refusal to disavow Russian President Vladimir Putin and the murders and poisonings of Putin critics in recent years because, as Trump put it, America has “killers” too? “I don’t think we’ve ever had a more harmful statement come out of the Oval Office than that one,” says Rep. Adam Schiff, ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, in an extensive interview for our new podcast, The Global Politico.

Schiff, a Harvard-trained lawyer who made his career by prosecuting an FBI agent caught in a sex-for-secrets trap by the Soviet Union, has been one of the leading Democrats calling for a more serious investigation of Trump’s mysterious ties to Russia.

  3. A commenter on an earlier article urged using subpoena power to get Trump to release his taxes. Not necessary! Trump's cooperation is not required. The IRS already has his tax returns.

The ability of Congress to disclose confidential tax information was added to the law almost 100 years ago. … Eventually, Congress decided that tax information should remain confidential except in two situations. First, it authorized the president to determine whether any tax information could be disclosed. And, in 1924, it gave the same power to certain congressional committees.

Following Watergate, Congress changed the law to eliminate the president’s ability to order a disclosure. But it retained the right of its tax committees to do so as long as a disclosure served a legitimate committee purpose. Such a disclosure must be in the public’s interest, and today’s understandable concerns about Trump’s potential conflicts of interest would seem clearly to justify a congressional effort to obtain, investigate and possibly disclose to the public his tax information.

    1. Anonymous11:58 AM

But the House committee voted NOT to look at them..last week.

So we take a page from the GOP playbook a la the AAC. Propose release on a weekly basis.

I would like to restate my utter disgust at adults who sexually abuse minors. I am horrified by pedophilia and I have devoted large portions of my career as a journalist to exposing child abusers. I've outed three of them, in fact -- three more than most of my critics. And I've repeatedly expressed disgust at pedophilia in my feature and opinion writing. My professional record is very clear.
But I do understand that these videos, even though some of them are edited deceptively, paint a different picture."

" The tension between a free press and the government is intentional – part of the essential check and balances of a free society the founding fathers envisioned. After all, the constitution doesn’t mention political parties, but it does mention journalists."Before the presidency, Washington declared, “If freedom of speech is taken away, then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter,” He understood that dissent was essential to democracy and a free press was the best guarantee of our hard won liberty." Our credibility is directly connected to our willingness to report the facts without fear or favor."The result is rebuilding the tower of Babel right here in America."This administration’s attacks on the press might be driven by hurt feelings but their remedy is a dangerous assault against anyone who dares to disagree or try to hold them accountable.
That’s not fake news – that’s the basic role of the FREE press"

    Don't fuck with Mexico.

Mexico warns U.S. trade war could be a threat to security co-operation

If U.S. President Donald Trump attempts to impose unfavourable terms of trade, Mexico may retaliate by ceasing to co-operate on drug enforcement, migration control, security and intelligence, a Mexican cabinet minister told The Globe and Mail in one of his government's most explicit warnings to date in the rhetorical battle with the new U.S. administration.

"There is so much at stake for the interest of the U.S. as a country," Mexico's Economy Minister Ildefonso Guajardo said in an interview in his office in the country's capital.

"We have been a great ally to fight problems with migration, narcotics … If at some point in time things become so badly managed in the relationship, the incentives for the Mexican people to keep on co-operating in things that are at the heart of [U.S.] national-security issues will be diminished.

  14. Anonymous10:41 AM

And now those countries look at us with pity. Nice to see protests worldwide.

  15. Anonymous10:44 AM

With what Trump and Congress are doing to the country they are self-solving the so-called "immigration crisis" because no one in their right mind would want to come here!

A bit off topic, but funny! A quote in an article about Nancy French--

"I just ask my subjects, 'Give me everything you have, and I'll give you back the best version of you,' " French said.

But didn't Trump look so manly with his unbuttoned shirt and golden chest? And gee, everyone I know wears French cuffs and then unbuttons the top three buttons.
My favorite scene Saturday was him and the porn wife meandering through the stands and not touching anyone. Mel refused to make eye contact and stayed as far away from humans as possible. Trump smile this fake smile and ignored them too. God, were there two more fake people getting daily news feeds? They disgust me. I thought she was so worried about the 10 year old in NYC? Nope, three days a week in Florida and I hear the SS is taking him to school and back. So much for the 'devoted mom' crap.

The only truth trump has spoken is the last year is the election was rigged.

Everything else has been a lie and when caught he puts the blame on someone else.

I am going on the presumption that he will continue to lie and the best way to counter act is 1) have the media print his lie 2) counter his lie with humor.

At this point I don't see any point in the media asking for clarification,he changes his story the next day anyway.

Print lie, Print funny reactions, Print 2nd lie Print hilarious 2nd reactions.

No other world leader is going to take him seriously because he contradicts his statements 5 mins after his handlers get a hold of him.
