Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee once started an organization called the "Fascism Forever Club." Nothing troubling about that.

Courtesy of the Daily Mail:

Supreme Court Justice nominee Neil Gorsuch founded and led a student group called the ‘Fascism Forever Club’ at his elite high school, DailyMail.com can reveal.

The club was set up to rally against the ‘left-wing tendencies’ of his professors while attending a Jesuit all-boys preparatory high school near Washington D.C.

The name may be inconvenient for a Supreme Court nominee facing a tough confirmation battle. However it also shows the depth of Gorscuch’s right-wing credentials – and his penchant for mischief while attending his exclusive prep school in the 1980s.

Mischief? Sure, let's just write this off as youthful hijinks.

Very similar to the type that led a young Adolph Hitler to start a club of his own in Germany. You know, just for shits and giggles.

I keep hearing the media suggesting that the Left keep should their powder dry for a REAL problem nominee and not go after every one of Trump's choices, but I disagree with that completely.

We KNOW that any choice that Trump makes is going to be problematic for the country, so why would we not demonstrate complete resistance to ALL of them?

Trust me we are not going to run out of steam.

In fact I predict that we are just getting started and that soon Donald Trump will know what opposition REALLY looks like.

The Tea Party was amateur hour, THIS is going to be huge!

Even some Republicans can no longer stand by while he burns the nation to the ground. There are a few with enough integrity to say NO and if he continues say Impeach.

One big thing about the teaparty is that it was originally and never was anything other than a bunch of deplorable low information voters organized into an assroots campaign by a bunch of kochsuckers and RWNJ media stars.

Remember the types of events the real teabaggers (not the paid teabaggers) organized for themselves? Like Park and honk when driving? Losing. SAD!

Very much unlike the yooge turnouts that the legitimate cheeto resistance turned out. The crowds dwarfed the ranting cheeto's inauguration crowds, no matter what the lying liars said. WINNING!

Trump cancelled a trip to Milwaukee
when he learned of a planned protest. He will soon be a Bunker President, afraid to leave the WH and/or Trump Tower. If he gets to Florida, will he come back (or be allowed back) or/and
just sign EOs that Bannon sends him?

Setting up the Trump cabal for a coup:

Combining all of these facts (see link below), we have a fairly clear picture in play:

Trump was, indeed, perfectly honest during the campaign; he intends to do everything he said, and more. This should not be reassuring to you.
The regime’s main organizational goal right now is to transfer all effective power to a tight inner circle, eliminating any possible checks from either the Federal bureaucracy, Congress, or the Courts. Departments are being reorganized or purged to effect this.

The inner circle is actively probing the means by which they can seize unchallenged power; yesterday’s moves should be read as the first part of that.

The aims of crushing various groups — Muslims, Latinos, the black and trans communities, academics, the press — are very much primary aims of the regime, and are likely to be acted on with much greater speed than was earlier suspected. The secondary aim of personal enrichment is also very much in play, and clever people will find ways to play these two goals off each other.

Gorsuch's use of a Kissinger "joke" about breaking the law makes me sick. He liked the words so much that he used them not only in high school but when getting out of college, an age after a college major and having thoughts about going to law school or having made that decision:

The Democrats are between a rock and a hard place; they are concerned if they push too much Turtlehead will get the republicans to eliminate the filibuster, which will screw everything down the line.

I can understand the argument this guy won’t change the court replacing Scalia, that the real fight will come with the next appointment.

However, I am not saying they shouldn't give him a full grilling and vote NO.

Again why we need to take back our Senate in 2018 and hope Kennedy and Ginsburg don’t kick the bucket.

When those unemployed coal miners have no clean water to drink and no wildlife to kill, they better not start whining, because they just got a taste of the trump administration that they so dearly wanted. Along with no healthcare or jobs !!!

One the bright side, coal mining is dying.

Guess I'm a horrible human being, because at this point I can no longer care at all about the coal families and anyone in the coal states who voted for Trump because of being pro coal. I just wish there were a way to make it so that the pollutants didn't affect everyone else. They have made it clear that they are fine with breathing in and drinking toxin after toxin. I had two friends, a father and his son, in PA who died from a coal-related cancer one year apart. They had left coal country but it was too late for them. I'm from a blue collar automotive upbringing. I get the blue collar issues. But when it comes to this refusal to change at all, after all we know about the illnesses and deaths associated with coal and other industries, and these people absolutely refuse to make any changes and insist on taking the rest of the country down with them,I have no sympathy.

Why Congress just killed a rule restricting coal companies from dumping waste in streams

With everything that Republicans want to do — repeal Obamacare, overhaul the tax code — it might seem odd that one of Congress’ very first acts would be to kill an obscure Obama-era regulation that restricts coal companies from dumping mining waste into streams and waterways.

But that is indeed what’s going on! On Thursday, the Senate voted 54-45 to repeal the so-called “stream protection rule” — using a regulation-killing tool known as the Congressional Review Act. The House took a similar vote yesterday, and if President Trump agrees, the stream protection rule will be dead. Coal companies will now have a freer hand in dumping mining debris in streams.

Killing this regulation won’t really help Trump fulfill his goal of reversing the coal industry’s decline — that decline has more to do with cheap natural gas than anything else. Instead, Republicans are mostly focusing on this rule because they can. Because the stream protection rule wasn’t finished until very late 2016, it’s much, much easier to kill than most of the other Obama-era rules around coal pollution. It was basically an easy target, so long as the GOP acted fast.

I guess the people living in coal country will just die sooner, then the GOP doesn't have to worry about Trump's promises to make them all rich again. What is wrong with Republicans? Why can they never do the right thing? As soon as some rich mine owner shows up, they can't wait to make life harder for poor people. No coal mine owner is going to get sick and die from drinking or bathing in polluted water; only the poor, who always vote for the GOP and who adored Donald Trump, will suffer.

After all the environmental protections are lifted, I'd like to see all of the Trumps, every single one of them on down to Ivanka's youngest child, be instructed to drink coal country water and breathe in the air and eat food grown in land filled with pollutants. They'd be horrified at the thought. And Trump would be indignant at the suggestion. But it's fine for everyone else to live this way. Once Trump gets all his deregulation, it'd only be fair for all of the Trumps to live in the most toxic of towns for a year. Make it six months.

Just read what's below. So, yesterday Trump was sitting at a table with that asshole LaPierre and smiling about the NRA having a buddy in the WH. Today, Congress has decided that you should be able to get a gun if you are mentally fucked up:

Donald Trump has been President for 13 days and yet more than half of Americans are missing former President Barack Obama, according to a new poll.

A total of 52 per cent of Americans are yearning for Mr Obama, found a survey from Public Policy Polling, while just 43 per cent are glad that Mr Trump is in the White House.

Furthermore, 40 per cent want the new President to be impeached, up from 35 per cent one week ago.

“I don’t believe there is any problem of American politics and American public life which is more significant today than the pervasive civic ignorance of the Constitution the United States and the structure of government.” He went on to express concern that an ill-informed and disgruntled electorate would turn toward an authoritarian ruler"

"Preliminary research suggests that students who receive media literacy training are better able than other students to evaluate the accuracy of political claims and distinguish advertising, entertainment, and advocacy from news."
"The civics education movement began in the 19th century, when social reformers wanted teachers to make sure that the voters of the future would choose the right candidates—men who were rational, moral, and disinterested. Horace Mann, a founder of the common school movement, wrote in 1847 that public schools had the “power” to “redeem the state from social vices and crime.” The goal of education was to create “exemplary men—honest dealers, conscientious jurors, true witnesses, incorruptible voters and magistrates, good parents, good neighbors, good members of society.”
