John McCain throws down the gauntlet for Donald Trump to do something about the Russian attacks against Ukrainian forces.

Here is John McCain's letter to Trump from McCain's website:

Dear President Trump,

In the first of what will be many tests for your new administration, Russia and its proxy forces launched attacks against Ukrainian forces this week, killing at least seven Ukrainian soldiers and wounding dozens more. That this surge of attacks began the day after he talked with you by phone is a clear indication that Vladimir Putin is moving quickly to test you as commander-in-chief. America’s response will have lasting consequences.

Vladimir Putin’s violent campaign to destabilize and dismember the sovereign nation of Ukraine will not stop unless and until he meets a strong and determined response. Therefore, in light of the latest Russian attacks and the prospect of future aggression against Ukraine, I urge you to exercise the authority given to you by the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017 to provide defensive lethal assistance to Ukraine to defend its territory against further violations by Russia and its separatist proxies. At the same time, so long as Russia continues to occupy Crimea and destabilize Ukraine, I implore you to maintain current sanctions against Russia. And based on Russia’s attempted interference in our elections, I urge you to expand current sanctions against Russia.

Ukrainians are not asking Americans to do their fighting. Nearly 10,000 Ukrainians have died to protect their homeland and many more are serving and have sacrificed for the cause of a free and united Ukraine. But America does have a proud history of helping free people to defend themselves. We should do so once more by giving our Ukrainian friends the assistance they need and deserve. Failing to do so now not only risks Ukraine’s sovereignty, but the further erosion of American credibility.

Sincerely,

John McCain

This is awesome, because it puts Trump between a rock and a hard place.

On the one hand this is a very important test for Trump's leadership, and an opportunity to show that toughness that he is always bragging about.

On the other hand he is Vladimir Putin's bitch and I think we know that when Putin helped him it was with the understanding that he would allow Russia to do whatever the hell it wanted.

So what will it be Donnie?

Do nothing and confirm to the world that you are only president due to Russian interference?

Or do something, and risk that pee tape suddenly showing up in every journalist's inbox?

And that's also how Trump always operates. He waits for interest to disappear. Several times he's been in a jam and said that papers or more news will be forthcoming, but he knows that the subject will pretty much die off. And now where we are with the Super Bowl weekend and no one's going to be paying attention to politics. We'll pry have to hear him praise Tom Brady, too. I so hope the Falcons can pull out a win so we don't have to hear it.

  7. My dear departed mother, may she rest in serenity, used to say, "Water seeks its own level." In other words, people, sooner or later, settle in with people who are right where they are intellectually, emotionally, and psychologically.

This is certainly true of Putin and his not-at-all-adorable tiny hands puppet. Both are sadistic, psychotic, narcissistic, vain, shortsighted, deceptive, power-hungry, money-grubbers. These are not normal people, no matter how hard the media tries to make it so.

If you wonder what can it hurt to allow #MangoMussolini to remain in office? Look to his patron and puppet master? If he is able to consolidate power for any length of time, dissent will be treated as it is in Russia. Polonium isn't such a horrible way to die, is it?

#OrangeFuhrer has a malicious attitude, one that delights in the downfall of others, deserved or not. He WANTS to crush, nihilate, and pulverise his enemies, real or perceived. He really is sick. I can't even imagine the deplorable glee he feels as he plots to strike back at Pres Barack Obama by gutting Obamacare, refunding Planned Parenthood, selling off our nation's forests and parks, and ending all federal support for the disabled.

So, WTBS, in this one instance, I commend John McCain for speaking out. I abhor him for selecting SP for his running mate in 2008, but I give credit where credit is due, no knee-jerk negativity for me! However, I blame the entire GOP for even allowing this destructive individual to head their ballot. Each of us must take our civic duty as seriously as the Sons of Liberty, as Abraham Lincoln, as the soldiers and sailors who fought in WWII, as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks, and as people of good conscience do everywhere everyday.

Putin and his puppet are working in synch to destroy freedom and amass riches. One hand rubs nasty mud on the other. Without doubt, they egg each other on and smirk at the coming tribulations they are scheming and plotting.

To paraphrase Frederick Douglass, there can be no progress without struggle. We must engage this struggle NOW, for later may be TOO LATE!

Well said, Marguerite. You and your mother, both. Her words are so true. In my family there was a young couple with a disastrously bad marriage, which I and most people saw as the fault of party A. Others said, no, both A & B are at equally fault. They split up and have both remarried. B's new spouse is the nicest person you could hope to meet, and they have a terrific marriage. A's new spouse is, you guessed it, no prize, and the marriage is a mess.
But the thing about disagreeable/dysfunctional people is, they might form symbiotic relationships for a while, but in the long run they never get along with each other, either. Just look at the disarray within the White House...after 2 short weeks.

But immigration lawyers who have read the order carefully are now increasingly concerned that one of its provisions could have much wider repercussions, affecting literally every foreign visitor to America, from tourists to diplomats.

The little-noticed section, appearing immediately after the travel ban, calls for the government to develop a “uniform screening standard and procedure” for all individuals seeking to enter the United States. As written, it appears to require all visitors to go through the same vetting measures, regardless of where they come from or how long they intend to stay.

If interpreted as broadly as it’s written, “It would basically shut down tourism,” said Stephen Legomsky, the former chief counsel for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services during the Obama administration.

Also McCain got a little slam in there, when he stated" That this surge of attacks began the day after he talked with you by phone .... " suggesting that if trump doesn't do anything it will prove what we all know, he is putin's puppet.

This could explain why Trump is having a public war with the Terminator?

It is hard for Trump to let go that he's not loved.

It was a mistake for Trump's fat ass to leave the Apprentice.

Instead of Trump sitting behind a boardroom desk calling all the shots on tv, he is sitting behind a desk owing Boris in Russia and some greasy Nazi, the real president.

    CBS
Howard Stern says Donald Trump "still wants Hillary Clinton to win".

Howard Stern still doesn’t think that Donald Trump ever really wanted to be president -- and he’s worried about the toll the job will have on the former “Apprentice” host.

Howard Stern on chances he’ll air old Donald Trump interviews
“I personally wish that he had never run -- I told him that -- because I actually think this is something that is going to be detrimental to his mental health,” Stern said during his Sirius XM radio show. “He wants to be liked, he wants to be loved. He wants people to cheer for him.”

Stern explained that he’s still surprised at how far the new president carried his political ambitions.

“I remember being quite amazed because I remember him being for Hillary Clinton,” Stern said of Trump’s presidential bid. “I was shocked when he decided to run for president, and even more shocked that people took it seriously.”

The shock jock still believes that Trump only got into the presidential race as a means to improve his negotiating position with his “Apprentice” bosses at NBC.

“He just wanted a couple more bucks out of NBC, and that is why Donald is calling for voter fraud investigations,” Stern said. “He’s pissed he won. He still wants Hillary Clinton to win. He’s so f***ing pissed, he’s hoping that he can find some voter fraud and hand it over to Hillary.”

Howard Stern on Trump's misogynistic talk: 'This is who Trump is'

Radio host Howard Stern says he is proud that the interviews he conducted over the years with Donald Trump were able to get to the heart of his personality.
Earlier this month, CNN's KFile unearthed several old appearances of Trump on Stern's radio program, on which he regularly made demeaning and sexist comments towards women. During his broadcast on Tuesday, Stern said his interviews showed Trump for who he always was.
"None of this was hidden," Stern said. "This is who Trump is. He was always bombastic. He always rated women. He always talked in a misogynistic, sexist kind of way, but he did it sort of proudly and out in the open; and he still won the Republican primary. In one sense, the fact that we do an interview and people's personalities come out, I'm very proud of that."
