Rachel Maddow points out Jill Stein's odd silence on the Russia/Trump connection.

Courtesy of Deadstate:

During an appearance on VICELAND’s Desus & Mero, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow pointed to a certain political figure who’s been largely silent during the Trump-Russia debacle.

Maddow started out her comments by referring to the now-infamous picture of Trump’s ex-National Security Advisor Michael Flynn sitting at a table with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Also in the picture sitting in the foreground is 2016 Green Party candidate Jill Stein.

“So everybody’s like, ‘Wow, how come this like super, super aggressive opposition that we saw from these third-party candidates — how come they haven’t said anything since this scandal has broken?'” Maddow said.

“I don’t know, Jill! I can’t pronounce it in Russian!” Maddow said sarcastically. “Hope you’re really psyched about you Wisconsin vote totals!”

Well, she has a point.

And don't forget the findings of the intelligence agencies were that the Russians did not simply help Trump with their hacks, but also undermined Hillary during the primaries in an attempt to peel off support.

Which clearly they did.

What I am about to write and what you are about to read may make some people very uncomfortable, if not angry.

That is not my intention nor is it okay with me to cause anyone to stumble. That being said, what I experienced tonight was so dramatic that I cannot help but reflect on it and share what I experienced.

"What I discovered was that by hosting this as a campaign event, Mr. Trump could determine who was and was not allowed in the venue. If he came on an official visit, they could not prohibit anyone from entering and he couldn't sell his campaign merchandise."
"I talked my 11-year-old daughter into coming with me. After all, how many times do you get to see the President of the United States in person – let alone in your hometown? I was eager for her to have this experience. It has to be a pretty cool thing, as a kid to see Air Force One, the President and the First Lady."
"The entry into the event was very impressive. I have always admired the professional posturing of the Secret Service, including those from our own local law-enforcement who were on duty serving in this capacity. These are women and men who should be highly commended for placing their lives on the line."
"I felt like a sheep in wolves clothing."
" From my view, the crowd was 99.9% white folk. I did see a row of about 10-12 supporters who were black, wearing T-shirts that said, "Trump and Republicans are not racist" - they were positioned in the seating area directly behind the podium. "God bless the USA!" in an earlier post...it was almost church-like.VPeople were being ushered into a deeply religious experience...and it made me completely uncomfortable. It was a religious zeal.<But this – this was deeper. A pastor got up to pray and repeatedly prayed throughout his prayer, "Thank you for making this the greatest nation on earth…in Jesus' name."
      Uh-uh. No. No way, josé.
Pastor, this is not the greatest nation on earth" Shame on you for praying those words in Jesus' name!"The First Lady approached the platform and in her rich accent, began to recite the Lord's prayer.
I can't explain it, but I felt SICK."I observed that Mr. Trump did not recite the prayer until the very last line, "be the glory forever and ever, amen!" As he raised his hands in the air, evoking a cheer from the crowd, "USA! USA! USA!"
"The two angry, screaming ladies looked at me, both of them raised their middle finger at me in my face and repeatedly yelled, "F*#% YOU!" Repeatedly.
I calmly responded, "No thank you, I'm happily married." Their faces and their voices were filled with demonic anger. My daughter was shaking in fear as she clung to me. The one man behind the protesters shoved himself forward, grabbed the lady by the arm and screamed with multiple expletives, "I'm going to take you out! This is my president and nobody has the right to disrespect him and nobody has the right to keep me from hearing him!"
I wish I could have captured the expressions of that man on camera. I will never forget him."
"That's when another lady screamed in my face that what I was doing was un-American. I just chuckled and responded, "What I am doing is completely American – I'm standing up for people who are being bullied – it doesn't matter if I agree with them or not."
"HE was rallying the angry, vigilant ones."

Poll: More than half think Trump acted unethically or illegally in business conflicts

More than half of voters believe Donald Trump has done something illegal or unethical as he faces potential conflicts of interest by continuing to own his businesses while serving as president, according to a new McClatchy-Marist Poll.

Even more voters – nearly six in 10 – say Trump’s conduct as president makes them feel embarrassed, according to the poll.

Those who think Trump has done something illegal, unethical or embarrassing include large numbers of independent voters.

Crowd At GOPer's Town Hall: Investigate Trump Like You Investigated Benghazi

Constituents at Rep. Steve Womack's (R-AR) town hall on Tuesday pressed the congressman to investigate President Donald Trump's administration the same way elected Republicans investigated the 2012 Benghazi attack.

"You guys just want to investigate everybody. Well, some—" Womack began, as the crowd erupted in jeers.

"What about Benghazi?" one audience member shouted.

"You guys wasted a lot of money on Benghazi, waste a little on Trump!" another added.

Protesters Mock GOP Rep. For Complaining Women Are 'In My Grill'

After Rep. David Brat (R-VA) complained in January that "the women are in my grill no matter where I go" now that Republicans are working to repeal Obamacare, protesters showed up in force to mock him at a town hall on Tuesday.

At Brat's event in Blackstone, Virginia, several women brought signs referencing his "in my grill" comment. One attendee held a sign that read “VA 7th district, it’s grilling time," according to the Washington Post.

Another sign – which read “This grandmother drove 165 miles to be in your grill, Mr. Brat and no one paid me to be here” – had a metal grill in it. Also wrote: we paid you to be here, do your job.

.... Brat's Tuesday night town hall lasted for more than an hour, and CNN reported that "nearly every answer was met with loud rebuke from attendees." People filled all 200 seats at the event, with people standing outside unable to get in, per CNN.

Good Morning! Here's Another Insane Russia Story to Start Your Day

It's time for the tax returns.

...Russian ratfcking in the West seems to be the old Tsarist imperatives hitched to an outlaw plutocracy that possibly might have its hooks in the President of the United States and/or in his corporation's business, about which the Congress should demand more information. The burlesque about the tax returns has to end, very soon. If there's a single Republican chairperson of a relevant committee with any sense of patriotism at all, those returns have to be subpoenaed as soon as possible.

Right now, we've thrown national security—and the presidency itself—into the blender with a Dostoevsky novella and some sort of pulp spy fiction. Enough is truly enough.

    Dumbing down Alaskan kids.

Anchorage School Board cuts dozens of teaching positions, and the situation could get even worse

The Anchorage School Board on Tuesday unanimously passed a budget for next school year that cuts dozens of classroom teaching positions to partially close a $15.3 million budget gap.

The seven-member board voted on the budget after about 30 minutes of discussion at its evening meeting, leaving the document crafted by the district administration largely unchanged.

Assuming the state Legislature doesn't decrease or increase per-pupil state funding, the $563.6 million general fund budget for the 2017-18 school year results in the net loss of about 123 "full-time equivalent" positions, including 99 teachers, to save about $7.2 million total.

If Sarah Palin cared about her two youngest kids and grandson in school now and multiple other grandchildren who will likely go to public schools, she could get out and work to improve school funding and save teachers' jobs. But, I guess, she's too busy. Doing what, I simply have no idea.

    2. Is that all?

Our local district is looking at a $124 MILLION shortfall.

Now some of this is posturing and politicizing. They do this every time the contract is up for renewal, then suddenly after it's signed money is found.

But some is a matter of timing. They simply don't know what the budget is going to be until May but they have to submit their budgets NOW. So it's a guessing game and they always guess worse case scenario.

I think in this case a lot of districts are guessing they are no longer going to get money from the Feds for mandated programs that support things like providing meals for low income students and providing support for the disabled. Special Education mandates suck up a LOT of the budgets as they require more people and the class sizes are way smaller. Then there are the English language learners.

If everyone that had a kid in school had voted against Trump, he wouldn't be president.

She is the one that pursued the Michigan lead problem when NO one else had even likely heard of it. She is the one who exposed ALL those oil leaks and the train cars incapable of safely hauling the goo. Those spills are not reportable by law so the news does not cover it. She dug it out, showed how the tar sands crap has no usable method of cleaning it up - exposed the years of decimation the businesses and homes have suffered from the creeping stuff.

Her first segment every night is an education on a pertinent subject that can educate you - but clearly you can't even realize that Clinton did win the popular vote, racism created much voter suppression, etc. etc.
