The Trump presidency costliest in history.

Courtesy of Politico:

In a letter to New York City's members of Congress, New York Police Department Commissioner James O’Neill said the “unique and unparalleled” challenge of having police and fire officials protect President Donald Trump’s family, home and office for the 75 days between Election Day and Inauguration Day comes to a cost of $25.7 million, down from an earlier estimate of $35 million.

Going forward, O’Neill said he expects the NYPD to spend between $127,000 and $146,000 per day protecting First Lady Melania Trump and her son, Barron, while they reside in Manhattan, on top of an additional $4.5 million in expenses annually for the Fire Department of New York going forward.

Those costs, O’Neill said in the letter dated Feb. 21, will “increase significantly” whenever the president is in New York City. Trump has not visited New York City since moving into the White House on Jan. 20.

New York is not the only place feeling the burden of financing Trump's expensive presidency.

Courtesy of Pop Sugar:

During his first month as president, Trump has spent three weekends at what he has dubbed "The Southern White House" — also known as the golf club he owns, Mar-a-Lago. The Washington Post estimates those three trips have cost the federal treasury approximately $10 million — which doesn't include West Palm Beach's municipal costs that the county plans to request federal reimbursement for.

Comparatively, conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch reported that Obama's administration spent an average of $12.1 million a year for travel. If Trump continues to spend weekends at Mar-a-Lago, he will spend taxpayer's money at a rate exponentially higher than Obama did. On top of the cost to protect Trump while he is in Florida, the federal government also has to foot the bill for protecting him and his family in New York City.

According to The Guardian, securing Trump Tower has cost the city nearly $500,000 a day — which would total nearly $183 million a year. The Defense Department and Secret Service have also reportedly attempted to rent space in Trump Tower, meaning that taxpayer money might actually line Trump's pockets. Trump's time in New York City could be viewed as a personal trip and compounds the already high expense it costs to protect the president. The Washington Post also reported that Eric Trump's recent business trip to Uruguay cost the government $100,000 in hotel fees.

And let's not forget that Trump used to constantly complain about how much the Obama presidency was costing the taxpayers.
Hypocrisy much?

I do not think it is in any way an exaggeration to suggest that this will be the most expensive presidency in history, and in fact might remain so for decades to come.

And it is simply NOT necessary.

If Trump wanted to he could save the country multiple millions of dollars simply by moving his family to the White House and taking his little excursions to Camp David like just about every president before him.

But he won't. He is used to a certain lifestyle and he has no intentions of changing it.

And let's face it who in his administration would have the guts to call him out over it?

I have a distant in-law family member who attended the Sidwell Friends School. This is where the Obama children, Biden's grandchildren, Chelsea Clinton, and many Senators children go. My family member is much older than any of these people. She said that the school is equipped for high security with walls, towers, tunnels under the campus, ect. The Secret Services knows how to secure this campus because they have been doing it for decades. The same probably cannot be said for Barron Trump's current school. It is probably costing much much more to protect him where he is than if he moved to DC.

The Trumps are ALL about THEMSELVES and could care less about anyone else. They are the most deplorable folks on the planet (the entire family is included in my statement) and, are in no way, able to relate to the majority of the folks throughout the USA!

Damn, but President Obama is missed - as well as his beautiful First Lady and lovely daughters!

    2. In addition, 8:38, Sidwell Friends cannot and does not accommodate children with learning difficulties beyond the very mildest. By all accounts of his special needs, Barron Trump could not be mainstreamed at Sidwell. For example, Quinn Bradley (son of Sally Quinn and Ben Bradlee) could not be, either. This would sorely displease Barron's paternal unit. Sending him to a school specializing in children with learning issues (as the mother of one, I'm intimately aware with the specifics) would be considered a slur on the family.

No way Trump wants to make special needs education a priority, even for his own son. No more than $arah Palin did for the child she claimed as her own, when he could still be lugged around for a photo op.

I'm sick of these "parents" seeing their children as liabilities rather than as children whose needs should and could be accommodated with pride rather than discomfort and shame.

I want to know what the cost has been to play golf in the Washington DC area or if that is a Camp David expense and the cost there for a weekend. Then compare the Florida trip costs.

When I read the costs of the Trump lifestyle costs I hear Trump during the debates justifying or diverting he does not pay any taxes because "you would waste it" or he said squander his money!

Factoring in he has not paid federal taxes the costs for unnecessary travel and NY residence angers me.

I would love to see the clips of Trump saying his tax money would be squandered mixed in with spread sheets of his Mar a Lago weekly jaunts.

Obama lawyers form 'worst-case scenario' group to tackle Trump

Fearful the new administration will abuse its power, the former president’s lawyers are uniting to fight back.

Top lawyers who helped the Obama White House craft and hold to rules of conduct believe President Donald Trump and his staff will break ethics norms meant to guard against politicization of the government — and they’ve formed a new group to prepare, and fight.

United to Protect Democracy, which draws its name from a line in President Barack Obama’s farewell address that urged his supporters to pick up where he was leaving off, has already raised a $1.5 million operating budget, hired five staffers and has plans to double that in the coming months. They’ve incorporated as both a 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4), allowing them to operate as a nonprofit but participate in some forms of political advocacy as well.

While other Trump opponents focus on taking the president to court over the travel ban and deportations, the new group plans to drill into issues that aren’t already hitting the headlines, like potential intervention in and intimidation of regulatory agencies by West Wing staff.

“When people hear concerns about democracies declining into authoritarianism, they expect that moment to come in a singular thunderclap where everyone can see that this is the time,” said Ian Bassin, who’s leading the new group. “In reality, often times, democracies decline over a period of years that happen through a series of much smaller steps.”

New York Will Ignore Trump’s Assault On LGBTQ Rights And Protect Transgender Students

Al Franken Vows To Fight Back Against Trump Attack On Transgender Students

The Trump administration appears to be on a mission to roll back protections for minority students of all kinds. The administration has also removed a website that informed disabled students and their parents of their educational rights. Although Trump’s behavior during the campaign made it clear that he was going to be hostile towards the differently abled community, the signals towards the LGBT community were more smoke screened.

It is now obvious that LGBT rights and protections will also be under attack during the Trump presidency.

All news is Trump news it seems: he's using up all the air ... like a bad fart in a car.

But newspaper subscriptions are waaay up -- The Washington Post's new masthead -- Democracy dies in darkness -- shows people are waking up, a lesson is being learned, so there is more good news than bad at this point. I believe we can learn from history.

Take heart. And, for a couple of days, open only the fighting-back posts. And remember, you are not alone. The progressive world is cheering us on, forcefully speaking out against this dictator. 1.8 million signed a petition to keep Trump out of the UK. A million people signed a petition to impeach him. Millions!

And ignore the news that says what MAY happen. It's a news trick to make us fearful, as bad on both "sides" and as enervating and pointless. Mental health is all in our reaction to these triggers.

Every hour of need throws up a hero -- lots of heroes! look at the thousands (for the first time) who are protesting, signing up to work in Democratic local offices, and run for office. Unheard of. Trump & his cabal may be just what we needed to stop entertaining ourselves to death, stop taking freedom for granted.

It's a great time to be alive. We are witnessing something unseen in our lifetimes. It really is quite thrilling. Chin up and go hug a friend.

I don't think that US taxpayers or NY taxpayers should have to foot the security bill to keep Melania and Barron happy in their isolated tower. We have a duty to provide security for them when they live at the White House and travel from the White House.

Melanie, for some reason, has opted not to be first lady. There should be a price to pay for that. Surely there are enough private schools in the DC area to educate Barron. Would he be better of in Slovenia?

Melania obviously does NOT want to serve as FLOTUS. However, she IS maried to the POTUS and that makes her FLOTUS. She needs to move into the White House, as every other First Family has done.

If she insists on staying at Trump Tower, then Trump should pay for her secret service protection.

Poor little Donnie Barron will just have to live in a room, not an entire floor in the penthouse.

If Trump cannot get his family on board, well,....looks bad for him.

Furthermore, taxpayers should not pay for the Trump kids to pursue their business deals. BLIND TRUST must happen.

I think Trump and family are taking the American taxpayers on a long expensive trip. For their own benefit, not the benefit of the American people.

It would be cheaper to hire a private tutor than the security of trump tower and Barron’s learning disabilities are all speculation from videos and photos, therefore it does not rule out Sidwell.

More than likely it is Melanomia that doesn’t want to live with little donnie and is using Barron’s schooling as an excuse.

The security bill doesn’t include the amount it has cost to fly Melanomia back and forth from NYC to DC several times either.

The terrifying reign of President Bannon (and his puppet trump) has just been made crystal clear - and it is as terrifying as we expected it to be - continued battles with the press, continued attempts to shut down facts, reality, and freedom of the press, and continued repeal of regulations that keep us safe (food, air, water, vulture-like greedy business practices, etc.).
If it is a battle he wants - a battle he will get - we will stand strong and protect our nation and all those who live her.

Steve Bannon Says Feud With ‘Corporatist, Globalist’ Media Will Only Get Worse
This is what he said at CPAC:
“If you think they’re going to give you your country back without a fight, you’re sadly mistaken,” Bannon said. “Every day there is going to be a fight.”

Bannon denounced the “corporatist, globalist media” for being “adamantly opposed to an economic nationalist agenda” the president is pushing. He repeated a reference to the media as the “opposition party,” and bashed it for being “always wrong” about the workings of the administration.

“It’s going to get worse,” Bannon said.

Bannon said a major goal of Trump’s presidency, along with renegotiating trade deals and securing the border, was the total “deconstruction of the administrative state.” He vowed that Trump would repeal hundreds of regulations imposed by Barack Obama’s administration.

“The mainstream media better understand something: All of those promises are going to be implemented,” Bannon said.

He's branding the media as Fascists. Because HE and Trump are Fascists. The Republican Party have become Fascists. But it's a hot button word like Socialist or Communists but it is the one word they don't want people dwelling on or they will realize it's the Republicans who are the Fascists.

And so we get "corporatists" in place of it. Basically branding your enemy with what YOU actually are.

Globalists? Well that may be the push back to Trump's isolationist "America First" push.

What Trump doesn't realize is that a strong economy depends on Globalism. If we can't sell our goods to the rest of the world our economy will tank. If we can't buy goods from the rest of the world we simply will have to do without a LOT of things we take for granted.

It doesn't matter if Bannon realizes it or not. He simply doesn't give a fuck.

Trump Waste Of Taxpayer Money Sets A New Record With 4th Weekend Trip To Florida

Ken Vogel of Politico reported that Trump is heading back to Palm Beach, FL to meet with donors, “The party’s biggest donors are gathering in Palm Beach for a retreat organized by the Republican National Committee, and the president has been announced as the featured speaker, according to people with knowledge of the plans. A number of senior administration officials will also attend the retreat, the people familiar with the planning said, a key draw for the donors.”

Taxpayers will now be paying for Donald Trump and senior administration officials to meet with Republican donors in Florida. It is not a coincidence that the RNC is holding the donor retreat on the weekend in the same city as Trump’s private club.

When President Trump makes his fourth trip to his club in Florida, he will have spent more money on those trips alone ($13 million) than former President Obama spent during an entire year on travel ($12.1 million).

"If Trump wanted to he could save the country multiple millions of dollars simply by moving his family to the White House and taking his little excursions to Camp David like just about every president before him."

Pretty sure Baron Von Drumpf Jr and Malaria are used to the tacky gilded ostentatiousness of White House North in Drumpf Towers and wouldnt be happy living in "The Shack" on Pennsylvania Ave.

Not to get too racially insensitive here, but some people say having a black family squatting in the White House for 8 years lowered the property values of the whole neighborhood.

Want proof? Before Obama: classy, classy area. After Obama: nearby tacky hotel opened up by sleazy self-promoting TV conman and admitted sexual predator. Thanks, Obama!

Believe me, the Drumpfs wouldnt be happy in the White House, believe me.

How much for the sons in Dubai this week to open those two golf clubs? Security cost in Drumpf hotels for Secret Service protection?
