Dianne Feinstein on Donald Trump: "I think he's going to get himself out."

Courtesy of Raw Story:

“You looked white as a ghost after that meeting yesterday,” one person said to Feinstein — referring to Feinstein and Judiciary Committee chairman Sen. Charles Grassley (R-IA)’s briefings with FBI Dir. James Comey on Wednesday. Comey declined to comply with a Senate Intelligence Committee request that he go on the record by Wednesday confirming or denying whether the FBI is currently investigating Pres. Donald Trump’s campaign and its connections to the Russian government.

“There are so many things [Trump] is doing that are unconstitutional,” a protester said. “How are we going to get him out?”

“We have a lot of people looking at this,” Feinstein said. “I think he’s going to get himself out… I think that sending his sons to another country to make a financial deal for his company and then have that covered with government expenses. I believe that should not be allowed.”

“We’re working on a bill that would do that now,” she said. “We’re working on a couple of bills that would deal with conflicts of interest.”

I am not exactly sure what Feinstein knows that we don't know, but it is hard not to be a little skeptical about Donald Trump voluntarily abandoning his presidency.

I actually think that if there were plans to impeach him that he would go all scorched earth and take as many of his critics down with him as he could.

However on Monday James Comey is scheduled to respond publicly to those charges that Trump made that he was wiretapped by the Obama Administration, so maybe she does have some sort of inside scoop.

I may be living my Saturday but would someone tell me why there needs to be a bill? As far as I'm concerned, he's squatted and pooped on the Constitution from day one.

Indeed. Looking forward to breaking news that DJT will resign effective immediately and take his family and staff with him. It is a crime to use taxpayer money for personal gain, to use the people's buildings and use Air force one. This SOB and cult will walk straight to prison.

A Republican congress won't vote for it! There must be another way!

I think it is because little donnie is using the "president can't have any conflicts of interests" excuse.

also dumb and dumber are walking a fine line, we never had a president with children that are so unethical as to use taxpayer money while on business trips.

We HAVE to get voters to VOTE both in 2018 and 2020. Get the greedy gop out, they are ruining everything this country has tried to do for citizens.

He was another politician who spent taxpayer money as though it was free. We kept that bastard alive this long, with heart surgeries. A fully staffed ambulance went with him everywhere. He jumped the line for his heart transplant. Bastard is going to live forever, with his wicked daughter, Lizzie.

As long as both houses of the legislature are controlled by the R's , Trump will never be forced to do anything he doesn't want to do.

If backing HIM means losing their own cushy jobs, they WILL change their minds. I think some are starting to see the light about how upset voters are with their asinine president. Repubs. are nothing if not selfish when it comes to their own jobs, with all those perk$.

OT?A guest at the party told me, “I was looking around the room, and I thought, No doubt about it—the people whom the Mercers invested in, my comrades, are now in charge.”
After the election, Rebekah Mercer was rewarded with a seat on Trump’s transition team. “She basically bought herself a seat,”

The Mercers have been trying to purchase themselves a 7-Mountains presidency for decades now and they finally succeeded in getting the rube they need elected.

Move over Charles and David Koch, the Mercers are in charge now.

The Mercers might be in now but Donald Trump is not one of them. He's wealthy but he's not a dominionist. He might just end up being the one to destroy them by taking them all down with him.

And, another "but..." Even if enough Republicans jump on board, and it/they pass, they can't become law unless HE signs, right? Or, there are enough in Congress to overturn his veto? So, seems a long shot to hope for any new laws to get rid of this President. But, we sure need them for whoever comes after him so we don't get another one like this one, every again.

  7. Trump has an Achilles heel....Ivanka. I hope they have some good stuff on her dealings.

I for sure do not believe Donald will retract and apologize. Now that said, what can they do to him? Does he care about the privacy of his business dealings? He is a traitor and therefore treason is a good excuse. The GOP have to get past this health care bill before they exert any squeaze on him.

He's a megalomaniac. Hard to believe he'll resign. Plus, apparently Republicans are so busy kissing his ass that they can't/won't recognize treason slapped right up in their faces. I keep thinking he'll go too far and stay too long but I'm beginning to wonder if there is an unacceptable limit for the old self-avowed pussy grabber.

    Oh and fuck these hypocrites.

I've played over some scenarios involving pedophilia, but he's already been accused of raping a 13-year-old girl, and still got elected...
or waving his dick at some Head of State, or maybe the Queen of England
or taking a leak on the oval office desk...
or inviting hookers to the Lincoln bedroom for a porn shoot...

To even think these thoughts about The President of the United States says volumes about the POS that is currently, for now..., holding that position of power.

He is like a black hole, sucking all the air out of life and dragging us into his sick soullessness to watch him and abhor. An abuser of the first order.

The gop bend over for anyone with lots of $$$, and they will do so again even if it means their "leader" is the most hated person in the entire world. Russia OWNS this worthless man/child and his vile family.

  9. Louise Mensch is an important former British Parliament member who now lives in New York and works for News Corp. She has been instrumental in getting the written word out on the Trump and Russian players plus the connections of his entire coterie. She wrote of and interpreted the famous British “peeing” dossier before it was finally legitimized by the media and members of Congress.

This article yesterday in the NYT is a must read for understanding the House Russian investigative hearings. I have spent countless hours researching most of the players in her questioning scenario so I understand what explosive questions she is bringing to light. However, I urge everyone to familiarize themselves with the names mentioned in this article. It is absolutely crucial to our democracy to bring this blatant corruption to the people. Feinstein and Grassley didn’t have those traumatized looks on their faces the other day after their security briefing for glamour shots with the press. Those faces were sheer mortification. Something really ‘shock and awe’ was explained to them.

Also: Be sure to read her article on playing chess with Putin which is on her blog. Fascinating with a very clear overview of the greatest spy thriller never imagined!

McConnell, and probably other gop, KNEW about the Russia connection last year. He refused to hold hearings, saying it would be "too partisan" In return, his wife got a cushy job in the administration. HE should be charged with treason, along with Ryan and some others. The gop are complicit in this entire fiasco. They will fight like hell to keep their part secret. We have to get more democratic politicians in office, to get JUSTICE after the gop debasing of the presidency and the entire country.

Considering she is on the Judiciary committee and has had closed door meetings I would hope it is a lot more than we know at this point.

I think they are going to “sit” little donnie down with all the evidence and tell him resign or we impeach and take Bannon with you. I would rather he go through the humiliation of live coverage of his impeachment hearings.

I agree with Anonymous 6:07. And I believe this is what Feinstein meant when she said he would take himself out of office.

Of course this isn't truly voluntary on Donnie Boy's part. Like Nixon, he knows he will be found guilty. But what do we know about Donnie? He loves power, fame, influence, notoriety, and above all, himself.

Being forced out of office would take away a lot of the special privileges that come with being an ex-President. If he were to resign, he could spend the rest of his life claiming he was a victim and had to resign "for the good of the country." His supporters would see him as a martyr.

Plus, he'd still be entitled to a state funeral! That's his ultimate wet dream, I think.

  17. The NATO charter has been invoked only once —after 9/11. And NATO responded by coming to the aid of the US in Afghanistan.

NATO is not a protection racket. It is a military alliance. A peaceful Europe is in America's interest. US spends more on NATO because it's the richest, because it wants to and because it's in its interest to do so. Not because any other member is forcing it to.
