Donald Trump: "I'm president and you're not."

Trump playing in a truck.
Courtesy of the New York Times:

Presidents usually choose their words carefully, the result of personal discipline and careful vetting by White House staff. President Trump is an exception.

In an interview with Time magazine, published on Thursday, Mr. Trump veers from topic to topic, praising himself and dismissing his critics in language that sometimes is hard to follow.

Here are some of those excerpts.

On his claim that Obama wiretapped him:

Why do you say that I have to apologize? I’m just quoting the newspaper, just like I quoted the judge the other day, Judge Napolitano. I quoted Judge Napolitano, just like I quoted Bret Baier. I mean Bret Baier mentioned the word wiretap. Now he can now deny it, or whatever he is doing, you know. But I watched Bret Baier, and he used that term. I have a lot of respect for Judge Napolitano, and he said that three sources have told him things that would make me right. I don’t know where he has gone with it since then. But I’m quoting highly respected people from highly respected television networks.

It does not seem to bother him at all that one of Napolitano's sources later said that the judge misquoted him or that Napolitano lost his job at Fox News over this.

Concerning those "terrorist attacks" in Sweden:

I am talking about Sweden. I’m talking about what Sweden has done to themselves is very sad, that is what I am talking about. That is what I am talking about. You can phrase it any way you want. A day later they had a horrible, horrible riot in Sweden and you saw what happened. I talked about Brussels. I was on the front page of The New York Times for my quote. I said Brussels is not what it used to be, very sad what has happened to Brussels. I was absolutely lambasted. A short time later they had the major attack in Brussels. One year ago today. Exactly one year ago today. And then people said, “You know, Trump was right.”

So now he is Nostradamus, predicting events BEFORE they happen?

Trump also apparently knows the meaning of life:

I happen to be a person that knows how life works. I said I was going to win the election, I won the election. In fact, I was number one the entire route, in the primaries. From the day I announced, I was number one. And The New York Times and CNN and all of them, they did these polls, which were extremely bad and they turned out to be totally wrong, and my polls showed I was going to win. We thought we were going to win the night of the election.

Actually the reporting I have seen demonstrated that Trump did NOT know he was going to win, and in fact was caught by surprise when he did.

And finally:

I inherited a mess with jobs. Despite the statistics, you know, my statistics are even better, but they are not the real statistics because you have millions of people that can’t get a job, O.K. And I inherited a mess on trade. I mean we have many, you can go up and down the ladder. But that’s the story. Hey look, in the meantime, I guess, I can’t be doing so badly, because I’m president, and you’re not. You know. Say hello to everybody, O.K.?

"I can't be doing badly, because I'm president and you're not." I don;t even know how to respond to that.

Actually as we know Trump did NOT inherit a mess, he inherited a country that had already been rescued from the LAST unfit president to hold office.

Let's face it folks, the Russians convinced a lot of really stupid people to elect a psychotic toddler.

And now we are stuck with him.

Well, at least for the time being.

'I'll Pick you up in this'^^
“The phone rings in my trailer, which it’s never done before, so it’s like a MOOSE had just entered my trailer,” “I lift up the phone. ‘Hi, it’s Donald Trump here.’ I said, ‘Really? Well, can I help you?’” Oddly, the call came while Thompson was filming a movie based loosely on Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential campaign, with her character modeled on Hillary Clinton."

It's appalling to see how badly Trump speaks and his lack of ability in using the English language correctly. He has little actual vocabulary which makes him appear even more illiterate!

Trump is an embarrassment to the United States of America and will never complete his first term must less be reelected.

I can hardly wait to see him run out of office in some manner! Hopefully, impeached - and sooner than later.

  5. We need a Trump and Russian purge. The Repubs own this. Bring it on in 2018, if we last that long without a complete militarization of this country.

It is not beyond belief that the game plan Bannon has in mind is a national catastrophe that would expedite Trump's oligarchy buddies covered in oil.

Prune juice prepared from California dried prunes has been produced commercially since 1934 and consumed in substantial quantities in the United States (Woodroof, 1974). Currently, it is not a popular beverage outside of the United States…. "Prune juice differs from other fruit beverages in that it is a water extract of dried fruit, rather than squeezing of fresh produce (Loh, 1980)."
"In 2000, the Food and Drug Administration granted the California Prune Board permission to use “dried plums” as an alternative name to prunes. Why the name change? Because 90% of consumers told us that they’d be more likely to enjoy the fruit if it were called a dried plum instead of a prune.

      Prune juice didn’t get rechristened"

I've also used the prunes to make filling for Hamentaschen. Also delicious.

They can try rebranding it all they want but a prune is a prune. You don't buy dried grapes, you buy raisins. No one bakes dried grape bread.

Prune juice is also naturally sweet, plum juice is not.

REGRET"Mr. Trump has told four people close to him that he regrets going along with Speaker Paul D. Ryan’s plan to push a health care overhaul before unveiling a tax cut proposal more politically palatable to Republicans.

He said ruefully this week that he should have done tax reform first when it became clear that the quick-hit health care victory he had hoped for was not going to materialize on Thursday, the seventh anniversary of the act’s passage, when the legislation was scheduled for a vote.
The Times thinkypiece goes on and on about how frustrating all this is for Trump, who’s accustomed to being the master of his domain without a lot of troublesome “other branches of government” getting in the way, because of course he had no idea how government works and never planned to win anyway."

Trumpcare Is Dead: Paul Ryan Tells Trump He Doesn’t The Votes To Pass Health Care Bill

...The fact that Trump is still demanding a vote that he is destined to lose is a symptom of a president who places his own ego ahead of political reality.

...If Trump gets his way and a vote is held, it is likely to result in a humiliating defeat for this president. The only that Republicans can come back to fight another day on health care is if Ryan postpones the vote. If the Republican health care bill is voted down, it will probably be the GOP’s last shot at replacing Obamacare until after the 2018 election.

Trump wants a vote because he is holding to a delusion about his own powers.

The White House is still saying that the vote is scheduled for 3:30 PM ET.

Barring a miracle, Trumpcare looks dead.

Bannon Tells Trump: ‘Keep a Shit List’ of Republicans Who Opposed You

Trumpcare is in trouble and if it fails, Steve Bannon has pledged to remember who defied the White House.

If TrumpCare dies, the White House won’t forget who killed it — and plans on keeping a “shit list” of Republicans who stood in their way.

According to multiple Trump administration officials speaking to The Daily Beast on the condition of anonymity to talk freely, the president is angry that his first big legislative push is crumbling before his eyes—and his chief strategist Stephen K. Bannon is advising him to take names and keep a hit list of Republicans who worked for Trumpcare’s defeat.

“[Bannon] has told the president to keep a shit list on this,” one official told The Daily Beast. “He wants a running tally of [the Republicans] who want to sink this…Not sure if I’d call it an ‘enemies list,’ per se, but I wouldn’t want to be on it.”

...One aide described it as a proposed “hit list” for Republicans not sufficiently loyal. Courses of action stemming from any related tally is yet to be determined, but the idea and message is that “we’ll remember you.”

Two senior Trump administration officials with direct knowledge of the process told The Daily Beast that Bannon and Trump have taken a “you’re either with us or against us” approach at this point, and that Bannon wants the tally of “against” versus “with us” mounted in his so-called West Wing “war room.”

“Burn the boats,” Bannon (in his typical, pugnacious style) advised Trump, according to one official involved. Burning one’s boats is a reference to when military commanders in hostile territories order his or her troops to destroy their own ships, so that they have to win or die trying.

Sources also said that others including Mick Mulvaney, Trump's director of the Office of Management and Budget and co-founder of the House Freedom Caucus, endorsed the idea of the running list, and that Trump agreed with the idea.

    wow.

First: Flynn files Turkey lobby disclosures late- after he is fired by Trump.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/10/us/politics/michael-flynn-turkey.html "Michael Flynn Was Paid to Represent Turkey’s Interests During Trump Campaign"

"WASHINGTON — The candidate he was advising last fall was running on a platform of America First. The client he was working for last fall was paying him more than $500,000 to put Turkey first.

Michael T. Flynn, who went from the campaign trail to the White House as President Trump’s first national security adviser, filed papers this week acknowledging that he worked as a foreign agent last year representing the interests of the Turkish government in a dispute with the United States.

His surprising admission, coming more than four months after the election, raised further questions about the rise and fall of a presidential confidant who was forced to resign after 24 days in office for withholding the full story of his communications with Russia’s ambassador. Even now, out of government and out of favor, Mr. Flynn and his contact with foreign figures presented a new headache for a White House eager to move on."

So then today James Woolsey burns Flynn down!

    https://www.wsj.com/articles/ex-cia-director-mike-flynn-and-turkish-officials-discussed-removal-of-erdogan-foe-from-u-s-1490380426

"Retired Army Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn, while serving as an adviser to the Trump campaign, met with top Turkish government ministers and discussed removing a Muslim cleric from the U.S. and taking him to Turkey, according to former Central Intelligence Agency Director James Woolsey, who attended, and others who were briefed on the meeting.

The discussion late last summer involved ideas about how to get Fethullah Gulen, a cleric whom Turkey has accused of orchestrating last summer’s failed military coup, to Turkey without going through the U.S. extradition legal process, according to Mr. Woolsey and those who were briefed.

Mr. Woolsey told The Wall Street Journal he arrived at the meeting in New York on Sept. 19 in the middle of the discussion and found the topic startling and the actions being discussed possibly illegal.

The Turkish ministers were interested in open-ended thinking on the subject, and the ideas were raised hypothetically, said the people who were briefed. The ministers in attendance included the son-in-law of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the country’s foreign minister, foreign-lobbying disclosure documents show."

    Deep shit!

Civil Rights Hero Rep. John Lewis Just Killed Trumpcare With An Amazing Speech On The House Floor

Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) stood up against Trumpcare with a breathtaking speech where the Civil Rights icon vowed to fight the Republican health care law with every bone and breath in his body, as Trumpcare looks completely doomed.

    Video:

...Rep. Lewis said in part, “This is the right and wrong of it. This is the heart and soul of the matter. We can not abandon our principles. Mr. Speaker, we can not forget our values. For too hard, and too long to back down now. I will fight any bill that turns the clock back to a darker time. I will fight every single attempt to turn a deaf ear, a blind eye, and a cold shoulder to the sick, to our seniors, and to working families. Mr. Speaker, I will fight every day, every hour, every minute, and every second. I’ll oppose this bill with every breath, and every bone in my body. We must not give up. We can not. I will not give in not today, not tomorrow, and never ever. On this bill, there is only one option, and that option is to vote no.”

    http://www.politicususa.com/2017/03/24/civil-rights-hero-rep-john-lewis-killed-trumpcare-amazing-speech-house-floor.html

During his daily briefing at the White House, Press Secretary Sean Spicer admitted that Trump’s wants to cut health care first so that he can maximize tax cuts for the wealthy in 2018.

    Video:

...In plain English, what the Press Secretary was saying is that Trump wants to take away health care from 24 million people and use the projected savings to help to pay for his tax cuts. The top one-percent of earners will get 50% of the benefits of Trump’s tax plan, while the middle class and poor will see their taxes increase.

Democrats have correctly called the Republican health care plan a tax cut bill, but it is the first piece of a larger puzzle that involves redistributing wealth to the top. Spicer admitted that the money saved is going to go into the pockets of rich people.

Trump White House Tells Pregnant Women Who Need Health Care To Move or Change Their State Laws

Ladies, if you want maternity care, just move.

Mick Mulvaney, President Donald Trump’s budget director, assumes that we all want to get rid of Obamacare — that thing that gives women free well women visits and demands that maternity care is not a preexisting condition, and if y’all need maternity care, change the law in your state before you get pregnant.

Or move, I guess, since changing laws takes a long time and is by no means certain (for proof of this, I refer to the Republicans trying to do what they promised they would by repealing Obamacare).

Bravo to Rep. Lewis, a fine American and Democrat who has his priorities straight. One of the things that FDR wanted to do once WWII ended was provide universal health care for all Americans. It's almost 75 years later and, frankly, it's about time. Healthcare should never be bound up with tax cuts for the wealthy. That is simply evil.

Donald Trump Having A Good Sulk Over How Terrible He Is At Repealing Obamacare

Pity poor Donald Trump. He’s the world’s greatest dealmaker, and yet here he is just telling Congress they’d better pass an Obamacare replacement of some kind today — he doesn’t really care what’s in it, really, as long as he wins — or he’ll just take his nuclear football and go home. Or to his home in Florida. Which he was going to do anyway, but the point is, he’s really not enjoying this presidenting gig as much as he thought he would, according to some traitors who spoke to the Failing New York Times, and frankly he wishes now he’d started with something everyone likes, like cutting taxes for millionaires:

...Guess that pledge to repeal and replace the ACA on his first day — or sixty-third — is looking a lot less shiny to him, now that Trump is the last person in government to realize health care is actually very complicated. Which is not to say he’s given up on ACA repeal — who knows, maybe he’ll get a miraculous last-minute poor-people-killing success! But Trump is thoroughly bored with health care now, whatever happens, and he’s going to have to go to Mar-a-Lago, play some golf, and yell at some foreign workers before he feels any better. Maybe a campaign rally. He could hold another campaign rally. Why can’t the House of Representatives be replaced with the people at his rallies? Those are GOOD Americans who would definitely vote for anything he handed them.

The Times story also says Thursday night’s take-it-or-leave-it ultimatum came after two top Trumpkins, Steve Bannon and National Economic Council director Gary Cohn, also became disenchanted with the “healthcare” bill and the compromises being made to satisfy rightwing Republicans. We found that a little surprising, since we’d assumed Bannon only got excited about measures to make America whiter.

The Times thinkypiece goes on and on about how frustrating all this is for Trump, who’s accustomed to being the master of his domain without a lot of troublesome “other branches of government” getting in the way, because of course he had no idea how government works and never planned to win anyway. Or in political analysis-speak:

I'm convinced that, if Trump had not had a family real estate business to go to after his inadequate education, he would never have lasted at a genuine US corporation that actually manufactures stuff. He does not work well with others; his kindergarten teacher probably said that or maybe not because his father would not have liked his little Donnie criticized.

Trump, Sessions, Manafort, Kushner all directly involved in selling US foreign policy to Russia for 0.5% of Russian oil giant Rosneft.

UPDATED: RussiaGate blows WIDE OPEN in Abramson report

In a stunning tweetstorm this evening, columnist and reporter Seth Abramson (Huffington Post, Dallas Morning News, Seattle Times, Washington Post) laid out all the details on the Russia-Trump connection. And folks, if true this is impeachment territory, and imprisonment territory, for the highest officials in the United States.

  31. House Intelligence panel and NUNES have decided the public does NOT have a right to know and are going to make the Russian hearings SECRET.

Does anyone doubt the guilt of the Trump administration or collusion with the GOP to COVER IT UP?

  32. Just like Trump greenlighted the Dakota Access pipeline he's done the same to the Keystone XL.

Oh, and that little spill in Dakota? Turns out it's bigger than they thought. In fact bigger than any in Dakota's history.

So much for listening to THE PEOPLE and their opinions. The PEOPLE who are going to have to live with this know that pipeline is going to leak at some point. But since they don't have to drink that water, the Trump Oligarchs don't give a shit.

  34. True Trump.

He's blaming Ryan for Trumpcare and he's going to consider it a win whether it passes or fails.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/trump-ahca-negotiating_us_58d544ade4b02a2eaab35816?

"So, if the bill goes down in defeat, it’s a “100%” win. And if it passes, well, Trump will obviously take credit. Apparently the real “art of the deal” is finding a way to have it both ways.

But reports indicate that behind closed doors, Trump is frustrated everything hasn’t gone according to plan. The New York Times’ Glenn Thrush and Maggie Haberman say Trump spent Wednesday “grappling with rare bouts of self-doubt” and blaming House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) for the entire mess."

LOL. I knew he'd blame it all on Ryan and find a way to spin it as a personal win.

T.RUmp would (and likely did) fail or have to buy his papers for ENG 101. Because the first thing students are taught (heck even in HIGH SCHOOL) is what is a credible source. Even straight up "news" is a pseudo source Because it generally hasn't been verified by multiple sources and lines of reasoning. Quoting a TV "personality"
on a network infotainment show , a network that has fought in court to be able to claim it is NOT responsible for telling its audience the truth would be a failed paper in most any college freshman writing course, and in most good high school ones, by about sophomore year.
