Majority of young Americans see Trump presidency as illegitimate. You know some older Americans feel exactly the same.

Courtesy of the AP:

That Trump is undeniably the nation's 45th president doesn't sit easily with young Americans like Anderson who are the nation's increasingly diverse electorate of the future, according to a new poll. A majority of young adults — 57 percent — see Trump's presidency as illegitimate, including about three-quarters of blacks and large majorities of Latinos and Asians, the GenForward poll found.

GenForward is a poll of adults age 18 to 30 conducted by the Black Youth Project at the University of Chicago with The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.

A slim majority of young whites in the poll, 53 percent, consider Trump a legitimate president, but even among that group 55 percent disapprove of the job he's doing, according to the survey.

See? There is hope for this country.

My only question is WHY are there still people who think his presidency is legitimate?

Why? Why would any human think a rigged election is legitimate? Well because they are either extremely ignorant or part of the liars cult of evil.

It was not rigged. Hillary lost. She was a terrible candidate. Team Clinton and the DNC colluded to shove her down the the throats of the Democrat voter and remove all other choices. Some democracy, all choice removed before you even get to the general election. That is the story.

It really doesn't matter if they don't vote and the young have a poor track record on voting.

I don't personally know one person, and we're almost all "senior citizens" who think that Trump's presidency is legitimate. And we all voted. For Hillary Clinton. The only young person I know who did not vote for Clinton voted for a third party candidate and is now worried about her medical insurance. As she should be.

And each day I think how smoothly the transition would have been had Hillary Clinton won and how effectively she would be working with her Democratic Senate. But that's wishful thinking and not what happened. And we're in for a terrible ride.

I have come across many "Fox News Only" people that voted for trump and believe whatever he says and whatever the fox fake news criminals vomit out. It is sad to witness their ignorance and even more sad trying to correct them. I just say to them, change the channel. Turn off the tv. Please listen to another network once a day.

I don’t understand what the purpose of this ban is, if they think they are going to take down the plane with electronic devices, they are still on the plane in cargo.

Are they planning on putting agents in the cargo hold to investigate all the devices during the flight, read their email, check out the browsing history :)

Or is this just another way to pretend they are keeping American safe?

WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. government is ordering passengers on nonstop, U.S.-bound flights from a handful of mostly Middle Eastern and North African countries to pack electronic devices other than cellphones in their checked baggage.......

Conducted by the Black Youth Project, and supported by minorities, this poll is illegitimate because who gives a rat's behind what they think. To the back of the bus with them! Right, whities? Unfortunately, we all know people who think like this.

  6. Illegitimate based on what?
I would guess the same people don't have a clue how our democracy works, most polls show that also.
The nightmare about Trump is he IS our president.
Whatever the Russians did was an effect to sway Americans thinking, they did not hack the voting machines. Swaying peoples thinking is what elections (and millions of dollars worth of ads) is all about. And P.T. Barnum read the American people correctly.
I have to live with the fact that my fellow Americans, by majority, wanted Trump president, just as they wanted Reagan, Bush, and Bush president.
My advice to young people is get involved in civics, which is much more than just voting. Voting is only the basic duty. I hope Trump being elected will wake up the Americans who don't participate in our civic processes.

    1. Until Crosscheck is CHECKED, all of the voter turnout and increased civic awareness will not help coupled with the gerrymandering that is being legislated in red states even as we speak and breathe.

      This election was stolen.

    3. Gerrymandering, the Electoral College, voting districts, voting stations and their hours, State voting regulations, and much more are part of the voting process and decided by local, or federal elected officials by their legislative votes. The people voted for those who set those laws. The courts have found some of those laws unconstitutional in some States. A judge recently ruled that Wisconsin has to change its gerrymandering districts, because they were found to be biased. That's the way the system works and should work.
Besides Trump being elected, Republicans won the election nationwide. Federal, State, and local elections were won by Republicans. We have Republican majority all over, not just federally, and those elected officials set those gerrymandering and voting laws. We have to rely on courts to keep things constitutional, and yes, until a court rules we can be living with unconstitutional laws. So again, more people have to get involved in the civic processes. If 90% of citizens voted we would have a lot less disagreements with the laws we live under.

laurensd1 you are so always wrong. You should shut your trap and try to learn something for once. Maybe start with a little class.

Nothing was stolen. This was a legitimate election, you just don't like the results.

      @ Luke7:05 AM

laurensd1 is correct. Additionally, you need to understand that the majority of your fellow Americans DID NOT want Trump to be the President. He lost the popular vote by 3 million, the majority of your fellow Americans voted for Hillary Clinton to be the President. Unfortunately, those 3 million people weren't spread out and residing in states like Florida, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. You can't blame people for not turning out to vote. We must abolish the electoral college if we want every Americans vote to be counted equally.

No laurens is wrong, as always. Wrong.

So 9:62, you basically want to change all the rules, just because your incompetent Hillary lost?

    7. Anon. 9:52,
You must understand that the Electoral College elects the president, If you want to change that, fine, it's called amending the Constitution, good luck with that. Please read up on the Constitution. The Electoral College was part of the original Constitution and a law we have elected presidents with since 1789. You are one of those who do not understand how our laws work, but cry when YOUR candidate loses.

There does need to be a review and adjustment of the number of Representatives and thus the number of electoral votes.

It's been over 50 years since the population of the House has been adjusted to match the current population US population.

The fact that California is deficient over a dozen Representatives and thus Electors is what allows a losing candidate to overwhelmingly win the popular vote.

All states need to have their House seats reconfigured to match their populations. If states would have had the proper number of electors then Clinton would have won the Electoral in addition to the popular, there would also be a more equitable representation in Congress.

Until this happens we will continue to see this disparity between Electoral and popular vote counts and it can affect either party.

"My only question is WHY are there still people who think his presidency is legitimate?"

Ummm, because he won the election, and as the constitution directs, the tradition of the peaceful transition of the President occurs. You wouldn't want it any other way believe me.

Besides the fact is obviously a bullshit poll, it is still discouraging how many people believe twitter and bloggers rather than the constitution.

My, the trolls are out today.

I agree with Gryphen. Let's face it: Trump's voters had their heads buried in the sand throughout the campaign and they've burrowed only deeper since the inauguration. Besides, if your only news source is Fox News, then your thinking will always be skewed. For the rest of us, we know Trump is in office and to that extent he is "legitimately" the president, but how he got there is another matter altogether and one that should be explored. One resounding question that remains is why were Republicans so afraid of recounts in the battleground states. If they were sure of their winner, they would have welcomed the close scrutiny or so one would think. But they fought tooth and nail against a recount in Michigan and in other states.

That certainly not what all these IM comments portend.

By the Electoral College via states vote, thought you said you knew this?

Troll at 10:04 am. We know he won the Electoral College and that, somehow, he carried the states he needed but had not polled well in so that he could win the Electoral College vote. There's a lot of room for questions there. As I said above, the GOP should have welcomed recounts in those states if they were so sure that the outcome had been correct. They did not welcome recounts.

    3. For one, they know the machines are old and inaccurate.

For two, there is plenty of voter disenfranchisement they don't want a national spotlight on.

One polling place for a huge Democratic district and multiple places for smaller Republican districts.

      Polling places moved.

People forced to vote by provisional ballots. I think that's a biggie. I think a lot of those provisional ballots were not counted. If they had been counted it might have turned a state or two. They force people to vote provisional by striking their names from the registration for one reason or another.

Our voting system is a mess. It should be standardized nationally just like any other major democratic country. Why should public education be standardized but our elections be this hodge podge of spit and bandaids, cobbled together disorganization? Well, because if it was standardized the Republicans would lose control of the process and they wouldn't be able to score as many wins as they have. They scream about accountability when it comes to schools but heaven forbid we have accountability in our elections.

Why don't you chew on this 2016 presidential map by county.

      http://brilliantmaps.com/2016-county-election-map/

Then also remember how the Hillary campaign and Hillary ignored the working class and the rust belt (against the warnings of some of her top advisers including Bill himself) instead opting to hang with Hollywood and NY Elite assuming that the masses and Obama voters would come her way.

They didn't. Why, because she is Hillary, and her ego precedes her. And voters voted accordingly.

  9. Possibly the only presidential election not full of lies and corruption was George Washington's.
Even the worshiped Thomas Jefferson who helped write the Constitution had publicly printed that Adams was keeping a whore and paid for her living quarters. Of course that was a total lie that Jefferson had his buddy (a printer) post in the newspapers, but it swayed the election.
Get real folks, there are all sorts of garbage occurring in EVERY election. You need more sales resistance when listening to lying politicians. News flash, elections are hard, dirty fights to secure the right to make law. The side who wins majority gets to make the laws. Unless those laws are overturned by a court, those are the laws we live by.
Stop crying and work to make sure the side you want wins. Electoral math is the key to winning the presidency, not popular vote.

Sure sounds like a conspiracy theory but I don't put anything past these two criminals.
