New video emerges that apparently shows Donald Trump tirade against top advisor Steve Bannon.

Courtesy of the Daily Mail:

Footage has emerged of a heated row in the Oval Office on Friday that saw Donald Trump erupt into a 'ballistic' tirade against Steve Bannon and other senior advisors.

The president reportedly unleashed his anger on Bannon and chief of staff Reince Priebus for failing to fight off the firestorm surrounding attorney general Jeff Sessions' recusal amid links to Russia.

A furious Trump told Bannon and Priebus they weren't flying on Air Force One with him to Florida before reportedly storming out and heading down to Mar-a-Lago.

Now, video has emerged of what appears to be the exchange during the fiery meeting inside the Oval Office, CNN reports.

Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner and Sean Spicer were spotted in the background of the footage.

Trump had accused his staff of fumbling the situations with Sessions after the attorney general recused himself from all FBI investigations regarding Russia on Thursday.

The president is said to have then taken it out on his senior staff the following day.

I reported on this yesterday, but that was before this video had emerged.

The first thing I thought when I saw this is who in the hell was in a position to film this?

It would have to be somebody on the staff, right?

I mean I don't think they have reporters simply hanging around outside of the Oval Office filming what goes on through a window.

And then I thought of how much money a video of President Obama like this would have been worth to the Right Wing media.

Except we know that no such video would ever have been taken during the Obama Administration, because that was back when we had grownups running the White House and not petulant, tantrum throwing, toddlers.

Folks, it really would help when posting a link to let us know what's in it.

Otherwise, how do we know it isn't some bogus get-rich-quick-with-diet-tea advertisement.

More people are likely to open the link if they know what it's about.

Thanks. And thanks for the link.

Let's not start rumors...I heard on one of the news online sites (CNN, CBS??) that one of the regular White House pool reporters recorded it.

Maybe because they were there to record Trump getting on Marine 1 and happened to notice the ruckus (or hear it?).

I bet they ban reporters from the yard and hang curtains in Oval Office.

    Trump: Bonkers, paranoid or trapped?

...There are several explanations — not necessarily mutually exclusive — for the latest outburst from the president.

First, he is increasingly out of touch with reality. Just as he obsessed over the crowd size at his inauguration and the fictional illegal voters upward of 3 million, Trump’s mammoth ego cannot take the daily drumbeat of attacks and accusations. When adversity strikes — as it did with new allegations concerning Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who was forced to recuse himself from any campaign-related investigation — he becomes unhinged and paranoid. He can stick to a teleprompter speech for an hour, but soon reverts to form.

A variation on the first possibility would be that Trump correctly realizes the intelligence community has a good deal more information on what contacts his associates had with Russians than he does. A New York Times story last week confirmed that the intelligence community also has intercepts of Russian officials discussing their contacts with Trump associates. Trump, under this theory, is panicked. An exaggerated, unsupported claim from a right-wing provocateur and gadfly Mark Levin that Trump was directly wiretapped is enough to set him off into a Twitter frenzy. As they said about Richard Nixon, even paranoids have enemies.

Another explanation is that Trump, as he does when things go wrong (the Sessions recusal, disarray on tax and health-care legislation, accusations about his foreign holdings), deliberately creates distractions. He’d rather the media chatter about whether he is sane than focus on the need to obtain his taxes to determine what connections he and his family have to Russia. (Recall that last week a story surfaced that Donald Trump Jr. was paid handsomely for a speech in France for a pal of the Putin oligarchs.)

And finally, it is possible that he is right that Trump communications were under investigation — but only up to a point.

The Trump Experiment may come to an early tipping point

Trump’s astonishing and reckless accusation that he was wiretapped on orders from President Barack Obama should finally be the tipping point in how the country views him and his presidency.

...Trump has a problem either way. If he was not wiretapped, he invented a spectacularly false charge. And if a court ordered some sort of surveillance of him, on what grounds did it do so?

Every time the issue of the relationship between Trump’s apparatus and Moscow comes up, he is moved to unleash unhinged counterattacks. This only underscores how urgent it is to get to the bottom of this story quickly.

We need to understand why those in Trump’s orbit who engaged with Moscow stick with lies and misdirection until the moment their falsehoods are publicly revealed. The truth has to be dragged out of them by the media, working in concert with those in government (a.k.a. “leakers”) who refuse to sit by while the system they serve is endangered.

No wonder Trump hates leakers and the press. With so many Republicans in Congress prepared to abandon everything they said about accountability before Jan. 20, 2017, the main lines of defense against executive abuses have to come from journalists, those who supply them with information, and courageous judges.

Trump’s charge that he was wiretapped takes presidency into new territory

Donald Trump’s presidency has veered onto a road with no centerlines or guardrails.

The president’s accusation Saturday that his predecessor, Barack Obama, had tapped his phone “during the very sacred election process” escalated on Sunday into the White House’s call for a congressional investigation of that evidence-free claim.

The audacious tactic was a familiar one for Trump, who has little regard for norms and conventions. When he wants to change a subject, he often does it by touching a match to the dry tinder of a sketchy conspiracy theory.

But the stakes have gotten higher, and the consequences more real and serious, as questions mount over Moscow’s reported attempts to interfere with last year’s presidential election.

"“You can’t go into business deals in Azerbaijan assuming that you are immune from the FCPA, nor can you escape liability by looking the other way,” said Jessica Tillipman, an assistant dean at George Washington University Law School. “The entire Baku deal is a giant red flag — the direct involvement of foreign government officials and their relatives in Azerbaijan with ties to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. Corruption warning signs are rarely more obvious.”"

This is how sick and evil this bastard is.

The way his staffers try to calm him down from his raging temper tantrum is to discuss new ways to hurt innocent people.

“That night at Mar-a-Lago, Trump had dinner with Sessions, Bannon, Homeland Security Secretary John F. Kelly and White House senior policy adviser Stephen Miller, among others,” the Post noted. “They tried to put Trump in a better mood by going over their implementation plans for the travel ban, according to a White House official.”

Vox’s Matthew Yglesias pointed out that Trump advisers were trying to cheer him up “by reminding him of their looming plan to endanger the lives of some of the most desperate and vulnerable people on earth.”

The problem with this video clip is that there doesn't seem to be any sound, so we have no idea what they were actually talking about. From this short clip you can see that Bannon is talking and looks very upset, and then another man crosses by the window. But unless there was audio, we really have no idea what was being talked about.

  24. Sure, it could be one of the pool reporters. They'll just tighten up their movements at the White House and they will not be allowed out of the press room. Grounds now off limits. Done.

But there are other staff besides White House staff. There are gardeners. There are sous chefs. There are maids and cleaners. There are all sorts of people at the White House that are "invisible" to the Trump administration because they are of such low social order and so insignificant in job duties as to be easily overlooked. Many will be holdovers from previous administrations. They probably have a much higher expectation for the inhabitant of the White House than do the rest of us. And I am sure they are appalled at what they are witnessing. Offended too. I wouldn't put it past one of them to have an anonymous Twitter account or take video evidence of what they see as a threat to this country.

  25. Anonymous12:02 PM

The video was taken because as usual the fat orange pig had the press herded like cattle and waiting in the cold at his leisure. Nobody did anything wrong filming Trump's tantrum, and the reason nobody ever filmed Obama throwing a tantrum in the Oval Office is because unsurprisingly it never happened.
