The MI-6 agent who compiled that infamous dossier has been approached by the Senate Intelligence Committee to testify for their investigation into the connections between Trump and Russia.

Courtesy of The Independent:

Christopher Steele, the former MI6 spy who prepared the explosive Trump report, has been approached about testifying before the US Senate Intelligence Committee’s investigation into the new President’s alleged links with Russia, The Independent can reveal.

Mr Steele’s friends say it is currently unlikely he would be willing to travel to the US. But it is understood Democrats – as well as some Republicans – in Congress are prepared to facilitate discreet initial meetings in the UK or on other neutral territory.

John McCain, the former Republican presidential candidate, and chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, sent an intermediary to London in November last year to collect Mr Steele’s dossier, which was subsequently passed personally by the Senator to FBI director James Comey.

You know it is getting harder and harder to dismiss the information contained in that dossier.

Remember this follows on the news that the FBI tried to recruit this Christopher Steele guy themselves a few weeks before the election.

Donald Trump can yell "fake news" until he is even more orange in the face, but clearly many in Washington are convinced that it is potentially quite credible.

And the noose gets just a little bit tighter.

I am NO fan of McCain's(palin plague), but if he's getting to help bring down the asshole who tried to shame his war record publicly, I'm for a little schadenfreude.

GOP Panicking As Majority Of Voters In Key 2018 States Are Unhappy With Trump

In record time, most voters are seeing that Trump is just a con artist who cares nothing about making life better for average Americans.

As the White House finds itself embroiled in endless scandal, the news for the Republican Party keeps getting worse as a majority of voters in key 2018 states are concerned about Donald Trump’s choices as president.

According to a Public Policy Polling (PPP) survey obtained by The Hill, nearly 60 percent of voters in seven 2018 battleground states said they believe the president’s Cabinet picks will hurt middle-class Americans and only help rich billionaires like Trump.

    More reporting from The Hill:

    1. Duh.

But they voted Republican and they will again. Because they are gullible and will swallow whatever tripe McConnell and Ryan throw in their way.

Stupid would be another characterization. Voting against your own best interests again and again and again.

So they'll recognize it and STILL vote Republican.

      Just watch them.

Sorry, 7:22, but that's about as clear as mud. Are they furious about someone trying to get to the bottom of the fake news or are they furious ABOUT the fake news?

    2. I suspect Pat Robertson is furious he is being exposed for the purveyor of Fake News that he is. He wants Fake News. Thrives on it because it supports his warped and twisted beliefs. Without it he can't threaten his sheep with eternal damnation if they don't vote the way he tells them.

Jeff Sessions and Donald Trump Are Tripping Over Their Own Russia Excuses

The Trump/Russia dam of lies is full to bursting. Flynn is gone, Sessions has recused himself, an obvious attempt to fend off the demands he resign, and Trump, as we have pointed out before, like an NFL head coach who has fired all his coordinators, is rapidly running out of people to blame for his own failures.

As just one example of Sessions endless parade of lies since the whole story broke, The Washington Post‘s Greg Miller asked, “How can Sessions say, as just did on Fox, that he ‘has never been told’ Russia backed Trump? Its in a public report!”

Guantanamo prosecutor Col. Morris Davis answered for all of us when he said, “Greg, Greg, Greg … you’re obviously mired in the pre-post-truth world where reality, common sense and facts had relevance.”

They're backtracking the way they used to when they dared to express mild criticism of Rush Limbaugh. This is serious.

Jeff Sessions’ Recusal Not Enough He Must Resign as Attorney General

...Without Sessions’ resignation, as explained in a memo sent to PoliticusUSA by Adam Jentleson, Senior Strategic Advisor, Center for American Progress Action Fund,

No matter how you cut it, a political appointee would be in charge. Sessions’ recusal alone just leaves Acting Deputy Attorney General Boente supervising the investigation for now. As Acting Attorney General, he is still taking orders from the Trump White House and free under the law to direct or suppress certain activities, such as the issuing of subpoenas, by DOJ lawyers. Should Boente also have to recuse himself for any reason, the same would be the case for any political appointee who might fill in due to the recusals. Thus, only a truly independent special counsel could ensure the Trump administration can’t bury or obstruct the investigation.

  13. I'm sure they are just luring him out into the open to make it easier for the Russians to eliminate that pesky loose end.

    He's smart to refuse.

They have the dossier. Why do they need testimony? Why can't it be done Facetime?
