You probably missed it but apparently small crowds of people rallied for Trump all around the country today. And by small crowds, I mean REALLY small crowds.

Courtesy of The Guardian:

Around 100 Donald Trump supporters gathered outside Trump Tower on Saturday afternoon, as part of a nationwide effort to show appreciation for the embattled president.

In something of a blow for the expression of support, the pro-Trump rally was hampered by a dwindling turnout and a counter-protest.

“I thought there’d be a little bit more people,” said Lance Lovejoy, from Maspeth in Queens. “But it’s a little bit cold out. And it wasn’t well put out either. I only found out about it yesterday.”

Yeah, it was cold, THAT must be it.

Completely off topic but here is a tweet showing the thousand or more women who showed up for the Women's March in Anchorage during a snow storm.
The crowds were so small that even Fox News did not bother trying to lie about them:

Supporters of President Donald Trump held a series of smaller rallies and marches around the country to show their pride in his presidency.

Saturday's "March 4 Trump" demonstrations are intended to show unity in the face of what organizers call "a seditious fringe" aiming to sabotage his vision for the country.

A couple hundred supporters gathered in New York near Trump Tower, chanting "U-S-A." One held a sign reading: "I am not a Democrat anymore." Another read: "Yes he is our president."

Well Trump may be HIS president but it certainly does not seem as if there are too many who share that sentiment.
I wonder how many protesters we will see when Trump gets removed from office for colluding with the Kremlin?

There is a startling new development in the ongoing Trump/Russia story.

    https://twitter.com/NatashaBertrand/status/838142262446075905

Last week I wrote about Michael Cohen and his extensive network of personal and business relationships in the Ukrainian-American emigre community. One of those was a man named Alex Oronov, who runs a major agribusiness concern in Ukraine. Oronov was a partner in the ethanol business Cohen and Cohen's brother Bryan set up in Ukraine about a decade ago. Oronov is Bryan Cohen's father-in-law. Today we learned that Oronov apparently organized that 'peace plan' meeting that brought together Ukrainian MP Artemenko, Cohen and Felix Sater. About four hours ago Andrii Artemenko, the Ukrainian parliamentarian who came to New York with that 'peace plan', went on Facebook to announce that Alex Oronov has died.

The Only Question Now is When Donald Trump Realized How Much Trouble He Was In

What makes it worse is that Trump alone probably does not realize what these revelations reveal to the world about his character, or rather, his lack of it.

What Trump is aware of is that the net is closing around him. As former Vermont Governor and DNC Chair Howard Dean tweeted, and as surely Trump knows by now or he would not have embarked on this morning’s rampage,

A Tweet May Get Trump Impeached As President Declassified FISA Warrant On His Own People

Donald Trump shouldn't have tweeted his morning missives to paranoia, as he has announced to the world that he is being spied on and the news won't be good. While he was trying to cast aspersions on former President Obama, Trump managed to cut off his nose to spite his face because he focused attention on why the government would be spying on him.

A FISA warrant, or Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant, is a judicial warrant that has to be applied for.

A FISA warrant must certify that the “target of the proposed surveillance is either a ‘foreign power’ or ‘the agent of a foreign power’ and, in the case of a U.S. citizen or resident alien, that the target may be involved in the commission of a crime.”

This is the warrant that was reportedly (and disputably) given to counter intelligence agents so they had ability to cover those in Donald Trump’s campaign who had ties to Russia.

House Intelligence Committee member Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT) explained that Trump might have declassified a warrant against his own people with his tweet. Rep. Himes said, “Talking about a particular warrant, the existence of a warrant is something you simply don’t do. So when I wake up this morning and find that the President is tweeting about it. Mind you, he is the ultimate declassification authority, and if he just declassified the existence of a FISA warrant on his people.”

Video of Rep. Himes on MSNBC:

The TV station says about 225 people attended the pro-Trump rally and a group of about 150 people against Trump staged a counter-protest.

Authorities did not say if the people arrested were pro-Trump or anti-Trump.
The Virginian-Pilot reports (http://bit.ly/2lrmX2J) around 200 Trump backers showed up Saturday for the event at Mount Trashmore Park

Also in attendance were some 100 counter-protesters,

Police say about 300 people have rallied in support of Trump in a gathering outside the Texas Capitol in Austin during rain.

In Lansing, Michigan, about 200 Trump supporters rallied on one side of the state Capitol while 100 critics gathered on another side

About 30 supporters of President Donald Trump rallied at the Indiana Statehouse in Indianapolis to denounce what they see as unfair treatment of the Republican.

Near Mar-a-Lago, the Palm Beach Post reported that people on both sides exchanged profanity. Trump's motorcade briefly stopped so he could wave at supporters.

      1) nobody showed up at rally???

      2) he accidentally declassified wiretapping--if indeed anything took place. We heard about the server in Trump Tower talking to Russia months ago, so did he just lie?

      3) other reasons???

      Hi. 9:03 here. Sunday afternoon.

I think I have the answer. He turned on his staff????

Trump got so mad about Sessions recusing himself that he went berserk with Twitter about wire tapping.

He's also crazy mad because Sessions and other reports took the hype away from his Big Speech the other day--the only praise he's gotten since taking office.

Also, while berserk, and blindsided, apparently about Sessons, he turned on his staff and told Preibus and Bannon and told them they coldn't go to Mar a Largo on Air Force One.

It's the "turning on his staff" that's his big mistake.

I certainly would not want to be on their bad side--especially if prison sentences were in the offing.

Especially Bannon. He's only loyal while you can do something for him.

Trump’s view of the presidency is like that of a totalitarian child. Donald Trump believes that this president is all powerful with no limitations. Trump never asked any experts if the president has the power to order wiretaps. He just ran with what he read on Breitbart and tweeted up a storm.

The senior citizen boy/child who wants to be taken seriously as president was just shown how it is done by Barack Obama. For the majority of Americans, Donald Trump will always be the pretender sitting in the Oval Office. Trump is the reality television star playacting what he thinks a president should be.

Barack Obama showed with one statement the difference between a pretend president and the real deal.

Trump-Russia conspirator Alex Oronov dies suspiciously; he lived in Donald Trump’s building
Yet another individual directly involved in Donald Trump’s Russia scandal has dropped dead under suspicious circumstances, and for the first time, the deceased is a United States citizen. Alex Oronov, one of the organizers of a plot that had the Kremlin pressuring Trump to oust the president of the Ukraine, has died. Palmer Report has determined that Oronov lived in Donald Trump’s building.

Alex Oronov was the individual who arranged a meeting between Donald Trump’s attorney Michael Cohen and Trump’s Russian former business partner Felix Sater, with the assistance of Russian-controlled Ukrainian politician Andrey Artemenko. That meeting resulted in Cohen delivering a Kremlin-backed proposal to National Security Adviser Michael Flynn’s office just before he resigned. The plan involved Donald Trump using Russian blackmail to force out the president of Ukraine, so Artemenko could become president and give Crimea to Russia.

Artemenko announced that Oronov is dead, and he blames the death on the plot becoming public knowledge. The implication seems to be that Vladimir Putin and Russia had Oronov killed after he was outed as a conspirator by the media. It turns out Oronov had direct ties to Donald Trump. Business Insider and Talking Points Memo first reported on the fact that Oronov had died. Palmer Report’s own research team has since determined that Oronov lived in the Trump Hollywood building.

Info in exchange for Witness Protection or a safe house for my family or something.

Maybe one of the insider staff will volunteer to use a wire in exchange for immunity and a safe haven.

Would be uber easy to get Trump to brag about what he's doing and record every word.

The timing suggests that Alex Oronov may have been a Kremlin agent or loyalist, and fled after the USSR fell. That would explain why, despite being Ukrainian himself, he was involved in a plot to overthrow the Ukrainian president and hand control back to the Kremlin. In any case, Oronov has been a naturalized United States citizen for twenty years. Up to now, the seven previous people who dropped dead in and around the Trump-Russia scandal had all been Russian citizens. Did Putin finally murder an American citizen?

Jeff Sessions and Russian Ambassador both cancel Saturday plans, as Sessions flies to Mar-a-Lago

Here’s a new twist on the ongoing saga of Attorney General Jeff Sessions and his repeated meetings with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak during the campaign, which he lied about under oath. Both Sessions and Kislyak were scheduled to attend the same public event on Saturday. That’s not suspicious, as they would have been two out of thousands of attendees. Here’s what’s odd: Sessions and Kislyak have both canceled on that event – and Sessions hopped a plane to Trump’s Florida home.

...The Hill is reporting that Sergey Kislyak canceled on the Gridiron Dinner at the last minute, and separately reporting that Jeff Sessions headed to Mar-a-Lago at the last minute. John Harwood of CNBC is confirming that Sessions was also supposed to have been at the dinner. Connect the dots: are they now having dinner together in Florida?

Donald Trump’s White House counsel caught improperly meddling in Trump-Russia investigation

...Not only is Donald Trump’s White House now actively meddling in an FBI/DOJ investigation, violating the sanctity of the process, it’s meddling in an investigation into Trump himself. This represents an even more egregiously inappropriate breach than the stunt pulled by White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus last month when he pressured the FBI and Republican members of Congress to throw the media off the trail of the Trump-Russia scandal. But it gets worse.

White House counsel Donald McGahn is also arguably attempting to interfere with the Judicial Branch’s role in the Trump-Russia investigation by trying to forcibly obtain a copy of the secret FISA warrant the judge may have issued. The White House has no authority over the actions of the Judicial Branch whatsoever, and any attempt at subverting that would be unconstitutional. And yet the New York Times is confirming that McGahn did go after the warrant today. It suggests McGahn himself is part of the Trump-Russia conspiracy.

Donald Trump appears to have illegally leaked classified info in his Trump Tower wiretap tweets

...Although an FBI source leaked the existence of the warrant to Heat Street last year, which reported it on November 7th, that reporting failed to become a mainstream story at the time. In any case Trump didn’t know that word of the FISA warrant against him had leaked to the media. So when he tweeted about it this morning, he was leaking classified information which to the best of his knowledge was still secret from the public.

To be clear, the president has the authority to declassify any information at any time. But the law says he must formally do so through an executive order. He cannot simply blurt out classified info on a whim. So unless Trump signed an executive order this morning before he launched his tweet storm, he knowingly and illegally leaked classified information to the public.

Carter Page fires back, says Donald Trump was behind Russia conspiracy at GOP Convention

One day after the Donald Trump campaign tried to turn former adviser Carter Page into a fall guy over the Russia scandal, Page is now firing back and accusing Trump himself of having been behind it all. Page was one of at least three Trump advisers who met with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak during the Republican Convention, which resulted in the Republican Party platform being changed in favor of Russia.

Earlier this week, former Donald Trump campaign adviser J.D. Gordon told CNN that it was Donald Trump himself who initiated the push for the change in the Republican Party platform to favor Russia over the Ukraine, and that Trump had been pushing for it for at least four months leading up to the convention. Gordon, Carter Page, and Jeff Sessions all attended the convention meeting with the Russian Ambassador. Page has changed his story several times and can no longer be seen as particularly credible in his own right, but now he’s directly backing up the claims made by the far more credible Gordon.

Trump reverses pledge to mandate U.S. steel for Keystone Pipeline. A direct beneficiary is a Russian oligarch with close ties to Vladimir Putin

That sharp reversal now paves the way for the use of a stockpile of steel manufactured in Canada by a subsidiary of Evraz, a company in which Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich owns nearly a one/third stake.

Abramovich, estimated to be worth $8.9 billion, who ranks No. 151 on Forbes list of the 500 wealthiest people in the world, has longstanding personal and political ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin, whom President Trump has repeatedly praised.

The connection between the oligarch and the steel already produced for the pipeline was first reported by Desmogblog.com, a Canadian website TIME Magazine named to its list of “25 best blogs of 2011.”

    According to the report:

“40 percent of the steel created so far was manufactured in Canada by a subsidiary of Evraz, a company 31-percent owned by Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich, who is a close ally of Putin and a Trump family friend. Evraz has also actively lobbied against provisions which would mandate that Keystone XL’s steel be made in the U.S.

Unhinged Trump Advisor Roger Stone Launches Into Vulgar Twitter Tirade, Suggests He Worked With Assange To Sabotage Clinton

Renowned Republican strategist and long-time Donald Trump adviser Roger Stone launched into a vulgar Twitter tirade against multiple users on the social media website Saturday night, making offensive off-color comments, misogynistic slurs, and at one point even suggesting that he may have collaborated with an enemy nation to sabotage the presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton. Some of the tweets have been deleted. According to the New York Times, Mr. Stone is one of a growing number of Trump advisers and allies now being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for alleged contacts with Russian officials during the 2016 presidential election.

All across America, Klan and neo-Nazi groups are not only flourishing—they’re joining forces.

Let these photographs serve as proof that we are far from the postracial ideal that many Americans have been clinging to. And let them remind us not to be fooled: The spread of white supremacy is not confined to the South, to states like Texas, Georgia, and Tennessee—it extends deep into the heartland, to Pennsylvania and Maryland and Ohio and Indiana. Hate groups exist all across the United States—coming soon, quite possibly, to a neighborhood near you.

SNL casts Kate McKinnon as Jeff Sessions as Forrest Gump. Naturally!

For the first time in seemingly years, Saturday Night Live’s cold open didn’t feature Alec Baldwin as Donald Drumpf or Melissa McCarthy as Sean Spicer. It was, instead, an extended tribute to Forrest Gump, starring Kate McKinnon as embattled Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

McKinnon long ago proved she can play essentially anyone in Washington, and her take on Sessions was somehow both a fun riff on the politician and Tom Hanks’s work as Forrest, which is, I suppose, what America was calling out for.

In what possible way has Donald Trump earned the support of anyone? He is a bundle of nastiness through and through. He's afraid of being around the American people. Remember how President Obama loved to go out walking in Washington D.C. - to have lunch, to chat with locals, to shop? I don't think we'll ever see Donald Trump doing things like that. The food wouldn't be good enough, the people might insult him or give him some disease, and he'd never go shopping on his own. Can anyone imagine him going into a bookstore to buy a book or into a pet store to buy something for the new family dog?
