Attorney for O'Reilly accuser writes letter saying that Fox News is a "cesspool of sexual harassment, intimidation and retaliation."

Courtesy of the Hollywood Reporter:

Attorney Lisa Bloom is calling on the New York State Division of Human Rights to intervene at Fox News, labeling the network a "cesspool of sexual harassment, intimidation and retaliation.

"Bloom's letter not only says ousted CEO Roger Ailes normalized the practice of senior male executives preying on female subordinates, but also includes bombshell allegations against the exec and calls him a predator.

“In at least one case, Mr. Ailes threatened an employee into having sex with him, making a video of the event and then blackmailing her into years of sexual relations with the threat that otherwise he would release the video,” writes Bloom.

The attorney likened Ailes' operation of the network to that of the mafia, "riddled with corruption and surveillance, smear campaigns and hush money."

Oh damn!

If Bloom can prove even a fraction of these accusations she could very well irreparably damage the reputation of Fox News and take it down as the number one cable news network.

In fact things are so bad that Bill O'Reilly is fleeing the scene of the crimes.

Courtesy of New York Magazine:

Embattled Fox News host Bill O’Reilly announced tonight that he is taking a vacation. O’Reilly’s decision to go off the air in the midst of a sexual harassment scandal and advertiser boycott arguably has the appearance of a suspension, but O’Reilly worked to dispel that notion. He announced that he’d scheduled his trip “last fall” — well before the New York Times reported he paid $13 million to settle harassment claims.

Sure, sounds totally reasonable.

I mean it's not like Fox News lies to the public or anything.

The more misogynistic Fox is, the more it will attract and keep viewers who support trump. This is their world, where men control women, and where they can do anything they want to women.

Threaten an employee? Whatever happened to a well-placed high heel to the groin and walking out? Predators aim for the weak.

Oh, do you think it's the victims fault? Being fired and blackballed in the industry would very likely have occurred if one kicked their harasser in the balls.

Perhaps, 1:20 PM, but is working in the industry that important to sacrifice your dignity?

Many an actress slept their way to the top in Hollywood, too. I get what 11:47 AM was saying, albeit not eloquently.

Fox News is a "cesspool of "sexual harassment, intimidation and retaliation.""

Typical, Gryphen. You just HAVE to put a negative spin on everything, don't you...

You never say good things about the people you condemn so easily. Sure, Billo went a little overboard on workplace sexy time, but just look at him! Is it really so difficult to imagine that he has hundreds - maybe thousands - of nubile young women throwing themselves at him on a daily basis?? Why would he ever have to sexually harass them?

Even when they say "ewwww, get away from me you skeevy pervert" Billo knows they really want him deep down inside. He's just giving them what they want. He's a giver, is what he is. A true, selfless giver. Is that so wrong?

Why did the pattern of sexual intimidation go on so long before they took it seriously? For years they got away with it, even Greta defended them, and now it's falling apart. About time.

Fox news is the toxic part of our society. Glen beck, rush limpballs, oreily, and all the rest have spent years breaking down families, and corrupting the thought process of average americans. The FCC allowed this station to contaminate the air waves with hateful, racist behavior. The damage has been done. The only cure is to remove them, condemn them and charge them with the crimes that they have committed in public view. The children must see what a terrible lying bunch of criminals that fox news is. Expose the liars like trump, fox and their friends.

Isn't fox the station/network that Reagan gave US citizenship to Murdock so he could buy it? That's Ronald Reagan, BTW. So they have been workingto downgrade the network for a very long time. I used to watch fox all the time, then stopped back inthe 90s.

Let's talk basic workplace sexual harasssment...it happens and we all know that. But, the liability for damages start when companies do not take the charges seriously or overlook an environment where it can continue or even foster. That is now where FauxSnooz is, they have paid out many paydays to cover it up( not the worst solution for any victim since your career is usually done)or they either need to take care of the issue( like Ailes) or they can take care of the issue, like Ailes, and let others continue like O'Reilly which is the "perfect storm". They have made themselves liable, took care of the most visible perpetrator and not the rest, and now have a situation where they will owe multi-billions for ignoring those serious issues in lieu of protecting an employee. FU Faux, the day of reckoning is here.

The attorney could have saved a lot of words if he had left it at "Fox News is a cesspool."

  11. Well, Bill O'Reilly may be going on a permanent vacation.

He's going on vacation but several sources say he won't be coming back.

Did anyone catch John Oliver's segment on the sex book that Bill O'Reilly wrote? O'Reilly recorded the audio book for it and Oliver played it. Eeew. You just can't unhear that.

I might add that O'Reilly is also a horrible audio book reader. Aside from the content.
