CIA knew about Russia's attempts to help get Donald Trump elected even earlier than reported.

Former CIA Director John Brennan
Courtesy of the New York Times:

The C.I.A. told senior lawmakers in classified briefings last summer that it had information indicating that Russia was working to help elect Donald J. Trump president, a finding that did not emerge publicly until after Mr. Trump’s victory months later, former government officials say.

The briefings indicate that intelligence officials had evidence of Russia’s intentions to help Mr. Trump much earlier in the presidential campaign than previously thought. The briefings also reveal a critical split last summer between the C.I.A. and counterparts at the F.B.I., where a number of senior officials continued to believe through last fall that Russia’s cyberattacks were aimed primarily at disrupting America’s political system, and not at getting Mr. Trump elected, according to interviews.

The former officials said that in late August — 10 weeks before the election — John O. Brennan, then the C.I.A. director, was so concerned about increasing evidence of Russia’s election meddling that he began a series of urgent, individual briefings for eight top members of Congress, some of them on secure phone lines while they were on their summer break.

One of those briefings was with then Senator Harry Reid, during which Brennan said that the CIA had limited legal ability to investigate possible connections to Trump.

That was a job for the FBI.

So Reid wrote a letter to James Comey, back in August, in which he said that he had “recently become concerned” that Russia’s interference was “more extensive than widely known.”

Unbeknownst to Reid at the time the FBI was already well into their own investigation of the Russian hacking, only THEY were convinced that it was really only directed at hurting Hillary, not at helping Trump.

Then things changed:

But as the election approached and new batches of hacked Democratic emails poured out, some F.B.I. officials began to change their view about Russia’s intentions and eventually came to believe, as the C.I.A. had months earlier, that Moscow was trying to help get Mr. Trump elected, officials said.

Still the FBI said nothing about the ties between Trump and the Russian, However on October 28th, FBI Director Comey DID issue that letter about those emails on Anthony Weiner's laptop.

Which angered Harry Reid, and convinced him to send this letter to Comey directly:
Still it took until December, AFTER the election, for it to become publicly known that the Russians did what they did to help get Donald Trump elected.

So why didn't the FBI put all of the pieces together as quickly as the CIA?

And why DID James Comey come out publicly to suggest that Clinton was under investigation, but not a word about the investigation into Trump's ties with the Russians?

All good questions. But it MIGHT have something to do with this post from November of 2016 in which the FBI was described as "Trumpland":

This atmosphere raises major questions about how Comey and the bureau he is slated to run for the next seven years can work with Clinton should she win the White House.

The currently serving FBI agent said Clinton is “the antichrist personified to a large swath of FBI personnel,” and that “the reason why they’re leaking is they’re pro-Trump.”

The agent called the bureau “Trumplandia”, with some colleagues openly discussing voting for a GOP nominee who has garnered unprecedented condemnation from the party’s national security wing and who has pledged to jail Clinton if elected.

As if that were not terrifying enough, it also appears that the FBI is using information gleaned from an anti-Clinton book and Breitbart news as the foundation for an investigation into the Clinton Foundation.

And that my friends is why we have Trump in the White House instead of the People's President.

So I guess the question that needs to be asked is whether the FBI is still "Trumpland" or can we expect them to do their jobs when it comes to the continuing investigation into the Trump team's possible collusion with the Russians?

Currently I don't know the answer.

Comey is, at best, complicit in the Russian interference and, at worse, actively colluding with Trump and be extension, the Russians. That asshole needs to be tried right up there with Trump, Flynn and the rest of these traitors.

How come people are acting like this is new news? If you read between the lines of what was being said in the summer, this was all pretty obvious.

    4. Him and Fareed Zakaria are praising Trump for being so "presidential."

      This is very BAD.

Given what we know of Trump's juvenile personality and obsession with approval, all this will do is convince him that whenever he needs a boost in the polls or to distract from the growing, multiple investigations, all he has to do is attack another country to be "presidential."

His Deplorables can't connect the dots between his crocodile tears about gassed children and his closing our borders to Syrian refugees.

What happens when the Russian investigation heats up and impeachment gets closer? Will he attack North Korea next?

Let's not even get into the precedent it sets that he can commit this unprovoked attack without so much as informing Congress let alone getting approval. Oh, but he let's his buddy Putin know and of course, that's how Assad finds out. So they can move everything they can to minimize the damage. That airfield is still useable and it's a victory? In what way, shape or form? The only victory is that it distracted from Gorsucks confirmation and the Russia investigation.

White House rogue Twitter account predicted date of Donald Trump’s Syria attack two months ago

--April 7, 2017 is the day they are planning to start #WW3 but we can stop them by calling it out. #LockThemUp. Please friends, this is urgent

    https://twitter.com/RogueLeaks/status/826961877188149249

Trump’s attack on Syria last night took place on April 6th according to local time in Washington DC, and this tweet predicted Trump would initiate his military action on April 7th. But due to time zone differences, it was in fact the morning of April 7th in Syria when the attack took place. This tweet does not specifically say that Trump’s attack would be in “Syria” and instead refers to World War III. But Syria is one of the few places in the world that the United States could attack which would cause direct risk of world war, due to Russia’s overwhelming interests and military presence in that nation.

I fell for Rogue at first, but he messed up something about the STOU that a person who worked at the White House wouldn't make. Also, the tone is cuckoo and unhinged, and at the beginning he/she/they tried to make it seem like Pence, Preibus and Ryan didn't know that Trump colluded with Russia -- I would bet that they did. Then the Nunes mistake came, and instead of admitting it, he/she/they went off on Louise Mensch for pointing out the mistake, in a way that was aggressive and weird.

Though I have to admit --

For a hot second I harbored the suspicion that Rogue was actually the staffer of Preibus' who got fired recently. My theory being that some misinformation about Nunes was leaked on purpose to figure out who Rogue POTUS was. There were a lot of Tweets around the time that she got fired that would make sense with that thinking, especially about Jared Kushner who, allegedly, fired her.

But I actually don't buy it. Because I think the tone is more of some alt-right loser who lives in his mama's basement.

White House Admits That Syria Missile Strike Was A Meaningless Publicity Stunt

Senior White House officials are admitting that the missile strike against Syria was not part of a broader strategy or part of an effort to remove Assad. In other words, the missile strike was a meaningless slap on the wrist that was intended to make Trump look strong.

Trump has no strategy in Syria. There is no campaign to remove Assad. In other words, the missile strike was a use of military resources to make it look like Donald Trump is doing something about Syria when he really isn’t and has no intention of doing anything.

In typical Trump fashion, the missile strike was a big showy empty gesture that was intended to get the president some good press.

The message that this White House sent to Assad was that the only price he will have to pay for using chemical weapons on his is own people is having 50 missiles lobbed in his direction. A missile strike without a plan is an empty gesture. Assad now knows that Trump is all talk and little action. He can do whatever he wants because Trump isn’t serious about Syria.

Much like Trump’s presidency, the missile strike was another loud but ultimately empty gesture by a president who incapable of formulating and pursuing coherent policies.

Because every one of them is now complicit in the hijacking of our election. And if they are trying to obstruct or cover up the investigation now, that's TREASON.

Didn't McConnell threaten Obama not to allow this to be disclosed before the election?

Obama thought that Hillary would win so he thought it would be moot. Also, it's sort of bad form for a sitting president to get involved with the election of his successor and it could have serious implications if he was seen as influencing the election. Do you want Trump to feel like he can make accusations like this when the next election comes around? People are so dumb and don't think about these things. It's like all my super liberal friends who got angry at Obama for not arresting Bush. Aren't you now really glad that that precedent was set? Obama is smarter than you and me and everyone else and he has a long view of history and understands that he can't interfere in the election of his successor. He tried to get this out there. This isn't really new news -- it was allllll out there in August and October. Hell, McConnell made the threat in the summer. Any reasonable person should have been able to put two and two together. Also, too, it should be noted that the media dropped the ball on this story. The NYT had the story of the FISA grant and ignored it. Who do you think made sure that they got that?

OK. Does secret service, FBI, CIA, Law Enforcement, NHS, USA armed forces? etc. required or is it mandatory to take an oath of office? Do they sign a pledge to usa citzens? Do they have an rules of conduct? I bet that they do, and I bet that they signed it to get the job, and I bet that they have lied. Most professionals take their job seriously, the oath of office seriously and most are honest law abiding usa citizens. But sadly we have a few bad hombres, and sadly they are liars like the man that rigged cheated and stole a usa election. And sadly we must weed them out, charge, prosecute and prison them with treason and espionage. They must be Identified, removed and replaced. It is awful that a wacko divided this beautiful nation. Wackos need medical help, they are off balance. No one truly knows what caused them to hate, to lie, to cheat or steal. Only a few understand them. Only a few can help them. In the meantime they cannot work for the people. They cannot express their personal belief in the job paid by taxpayers.
