Dakota Meyer appears on Fox to breathlessly celebrate the dropping of MOAB in Afghanistan.

Courtesy of Fox News Insider:

Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer reacted to criticism of the United States military dropping the "mother of all bombs" [MOAB] this week.

Meyer called the action, approved by President Trump, a direct reflection of White House leadership.

He said that after eight years, we have president who allows the military operators on-the-ground to make their own decisions, instead of through political gamesmanship in Washington.

Yes who needs all of that "political gamesmanship" like careful planning and diplomacy, when you can just drop giant bombs on the problem?

If you click the link you can enjoy for yourself the raping of the English language by Meyers and be reminded yet again that there is no IQ test to marry into the Palin family.

For example here is just one of Dakota's attempts to answer a simple question:

"Well I mean look the mindset of these terrorists, I mean look there's only one solution to them as a problem, and that is exactly more of this happening. But..uh..you know for the US military I mean I think that if you take a year ago we had a Commander-in-Chief that would let you get captured by Iran and not do any repercussions. I mean what do you think the mindset is there? Versus now we've got a commander-in-chief who saying 'Hey, run your military like you need to and do whatever it takes to get rid of the enemy.'"

Yes damn that President Obama for not getting us into a war with Iran. Just what was he thinking?

Of course the problem with allowing the military to run amuck without civilian oversight is that a hammer sees every problem as a nail.

Left to their own devices the military will create far more enemies than they will kill, and soon Afghanistan will reignite into a full blown war devouring the lives of thousands of additional American soldiers.

President Obama was working to end our conflicts in the Middle East, whereas Trump, despite his campaign rhetoric, appears to see dropping bombs in the area as a means to improve his poll numbers.

I have a really bad feeling about all of this.

you heard it here first (but it should be obvious to every sentient being):

Emperor Drumpf is ceding operational authority to the military brass in order to take credit for any successes and, more importantly, attempt to inoculate his own sorry wrinkly ass against responsibility for the inevitable disasters of his incompetent, inexperienced and reckless non-leadership.

@6:37 -- that's only $872,000 for each dead ISIS fighter. Chump change for Trump.

Well he wasn’t president when he was inciting the violence:
    ==================================
Trump Claims Immunity As President From Protesters' Lawsuit
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Attorneys for President Donald Trump say he did nothing wrong as a candidate when protesters said they were roughed up by his supporters at a campaign rally in Louisville last year.

Trump’s team responded Friday to the protesters’ federal lawsuit, saying he’s immune as president from such suits. They also say the protesters waived their right to sue by buying tickets to the event, and they deny that Trump was urging the crowd to take action by repeatedly saying “get them out of here.”

A federal judge declined Trump’s preliminary request to dismiss the lawsuit, filed by two women and a man who say they were shoved and punched by audience members at Trump’s command. Video widely broadcast during the campaign shows Trump pointing at the protesters and repeating “get them out.”

U.S. District Judge David Hale ruled on April 1 that there’s ample evidence that could be seen as supporting allegations that the protesters’ injuries were a “direct and proximate result” of Trump’s actions. The judge also noted that the Supreme Court has ruled out constitutional protections for speech that incites violence.

The response filed by Trump contradicts the argument of a co-defendant, a Trump supporter accused of shoving a young black woman at the rally. WDRB-TV reported that 75-year-old Alvin Bamberger said he was only following Trump’s directions when he helped remove her.

Bamberger filed a countersuit in U.S. District Court on Friday, saying “he would not have acted as he did without” Trump’s “urging and inspiration.”

Bamberger also cited other Trump rallies, saying Trump and his campaign “repeatedly urged people attending” the rallies to “remove individuals who were voicing opposition to Trumps candidacy” and promised to pay the legal fees of those who removed protesters.......

I suspect a large terror attack rather than a foreign power. With our renewed force in middle eastern affairs there's quite a few partially radicalized Muslims here in the US preparing to go full bore radical and make their voices heard. For one thing, just to prove to Trump that "they" are already here and that all of his Muslim bans and terror watchlist and travel bans aren't worth a hill of beans.

One has an office down the hall from the president in the White House; the other just moved into an office a floor up. One recently visited war-torn Iraq as the president’s emissary; the other will soon head to Berlin at the invitation of Germany’s chancellor.

Both have seats at the table at any meeting they choose to attend, join lunches with foreign leaders and enjoy “walk-in privileges” to the Oval Office. And with the marginalization of Stephen K. Bannon, Jared Kushner and Ivanka Drumpf have emerged as President Drumpf’s most important advisers, at least for now.

More openly than any president before him, Mr. Drumpf is running his West Wing like a family business, and as he has soured on Mr. Bannon, his combative chief strategist, he has turned to his daughter and son-in-law. Their ascendance has some conservative supporters fretting about the rising influence of the urbane young New Yorkers, as some moderates and liberals swallow concerns about nepotism in the hope that the couple will temper the temperamental president.

The Inside Story of the Kushner-Bannon Civil War

West Wing sources come clean about the backstabbing, the bullying, the distrust, and the buzzing flies.

...But now, in full view of the country and the world, we are watching what happens when a president is elected on the basis of an incoherent and crowd-sourced agenda, one that pandered to white nationalists and stoked economic anxiety. When that same president is someone who has never managed a large bureaucracy and brings almost no close associates who have. And when some of the aides he haphazardly acquired a few months before taking office care more about their own ambitions than his own—whatever they are.

Now combine all that with the inevitable transition from a helter-skelter campaign metabolism to the grinding process of governance. What is happening inside the White House, according to a senior official who is close to the president, is a “reversion to the mean”—a correction of sorts. “When narrative gets bigger than the reality”—for an individual, for a campaign, for an administration—“there is nowhere to go but down.”
