Watch Donald Trump flee executive order signing ceremony without actually signing the document.

Courtesy of Slate:

President Trump gathered the press on Friday to sign two new executive orders on trade. He spoke very positively about what he was going to sign. "Thank you everybody," he said from the podium. "You're going to be seeing some very, very strong results very, very quickly. Thank you very much."

The commander in chief immediately sought out the door, and seemingly couldn’t get out of the room fast enough. Never mind that he hadn’t actually signed anything.

Vice President Mike Pence seems to have noticed the president’s mistake and ran after him. Trump appears to gesture that he wants the orders to be brought to him so Pence then goes to the desk and picks up the orders so the commander in chief can sign them in another room. That’s not quite how things usually work, considering Trump likes to have the press take photos of him signing executive orders.

Did you notice Pence trying to get his boss to stay in the room only to be sent to fetch the document like the trained poodle that we know him to be?

What what made Trump cut and run like that?

That becomes clear when you watch this alternative tape of the event.

Did you hear that reporter asking about Michael Flynn?

THAT seems to be what triggered Trump's flight response, and it essentially proves that the whole Flynn debacle has him very on edge.

And who can blame him?

After all Michael Flynn "has a story to tell."

He just left, forgetting to sign them. THEN a reporter asked him a question and he said something -- pursed lips could have been "thank you" or "fuck you" with a thumb up.

It was already clear that Ivanka has been brought in to be his nursemaid. The old dude is quite senile, mostly he doesn't have a clue what is going on around him, all he's capable of is ranting his same old rant ... just like that other old retard Sarah Palin.

He even had to read off those few mundane words he uttered in that very short clip. Hiding Trump's dementia is no doubt making President Bannon's job harder every day.

From another clip I saw Bannon (standing outside the room) who looked kinda stricken: that Trump didn't sign them, or not this again, or ... it was a look, then he realized he was on camera. Did anybody else see that clip?

Bingo!!! I suspected from the start Ivanka's role was nursemaid. I'll bet that's the way his companies are run -- Ivanka, Eric, and Jared watch his every move, let him rave, then quietly come in behind him and clean up.

Does Trump realize that President Obama is the person who saved the auto industry in Detroit in 2009 when it was crashing because of the previous Republican president's failures?

I think he heard the question about Flynn. He had no intention of answering anyone's question. I'm sure that, once outside the room, he had an absolute fit about the nerve of the reporter to ask a question. Oh, my. What a slippery slope we're all on now.

The Vermont senator also said some Democrats believe the voters who backed President Donald Trump are racists, xenophobes and "deplorables," a word Clinton famously used.

"I do not agree," he said.

Does Sanders realize that at least some of his "Bernie Bros" were Russian plants? That should quiet him down a bit, I would think. And when Hillary Clinton used the word "deplorables," she was referring to the white supremacists and Ku Klux Klan types who were taking advantage of not very bright lower class white voters in largely rural areas. The media deliberately did not provide the context of her use of the word. Sanders knows that and should not continue to use it as a bludgeon to beat up Hillary Clinton or the Democratic Party. He's back to being an "I" in the Senate.

The fact that racists support Trump does not logically translate into all Trump supporters are racist.

If you insist that they are then you really are useless.

Putting every Trump supporter into one group is no different from saying that all blacks are lazy or all Mexicans are rapists.

    PROTEST!

This week in Iowa the Republican-dominated legislature passed legislation nullifying any and all local minimum wage increases, no matter how long they’ve been in effect, and summarily banned any county, city or locality from ever setting wage and benefit standards again. According to Iowa Republicans, low-wage workers mired in abject poverty will stay in that condition into perpetuity and never earn a penny over the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour. As noted in the Huffington Post:

“It is the first time that a state has nullified local minimum wage ordinances that had already taken effect and forced [local] jurisdictions to [immediately] reduce minimum wage rates that had been previously raised.”

The Republicans in the state Senate passed the bill on a unanimous vote and Governor Terry Branstad’s signature means the voters elected a Republican majority in November to cruelly rob Iowa’s poverty-level workforce of whatever minimal pay raises they’ve earned over the past two years. It seems that Republicans agree with their corporate funders that it is an abomination for tens-of-thousands of Iowans in poverty to earn anything over the federal minimum wage. All wage earners who started receiving $8.20 an hour over the past two years will instantly have their wages cut back to $7.25 an hour. No doubt they would slash wages further, but until congressional Republicans abolish the federal minimum wage, low-wage Iowans will be permanently earning the federally-mandated slave wage.

The Iowa poverty workers, at least 100,000 of them, will not only continue suffering slave wages, $8.20 per hour is slave wage, they will face pay cuts of about a dollar an hour. The workers, eighty-four percent who are 20 years of age or older are predominately full-time employees. Over half are women and a third are working parents and are at least forty years old; the majority percentage work full-time.

Trump aide accused of Hatch Act violation after urging Amash primary challenge

A senior adviser to President Donald Trump on Saturday urged a primary challenge against a House Freedom Caucus member, prompting charges that he may have violated federal law against using his official position to sway an election campaign.

Dan Scavino Jr., director of social media and senior White House adviser, tweeted that Michigan Rep. Justin Amash is a "big liability" for the state and encouraged a GOP primary opponent to oust him in 2018.

".@realDonaldTrump is bringing auto plants & jobs back to Michigan. @justinamash is a big liability. #TrumpTrain, defeat him in primary," Scavino wrote.

But that tweet, sent from Scavino's personal Twitter account, immediately landed him in controversy as ethics lawyers called out Scavino for possibly violating the Hatch Act, a Depression-era law that regulates campaigning by government officials.

Trumpers Look For Ways to Sideline Intel Community

The White House's handling of intelligence reports on the Russia investigation has been labeled unorthodox and, to the Democrats, suspicious. But when it comes to Donald Trump's relationship with his spy agencies, that's par for the course.

Since taking office, Trump has challenged the integrity of intelligence officials, moved to exert more control over U.S. spying agencies and accused his predecessor of using government spycraft to monitor his presidential campaign.

This week, Trump's White House is facing allegations that it funneled secret intelligence reports to a top Republican investigating his campaign's possible ties to Russian officials as well as Moscow's interference in the 2016 election.

The approach appears to be based, at least in part, on the White House's anxiety over the Russia investigations, which threaten to seriously weaken his presidency. It also reflects a deep distrust of the intelligence community among his political advisers, including government newcomers who have never dealt with classified information or covert programs.

"It reveals a chasm of ignorance about how stuff is done," said Michael Hayden, the former head of the CIA and National Security Agency.

Trump, with the backing of political advisers Steve Bannon and Jared Kushner, initially sought to put Wall Street billionaire Stephen Feinberg in charge of a review of the intelligence agencies. An early iteration of the review explored eliminating the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the umbrella agency created after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks to streamline and coordinate intelligence.

Officials say they viewed the agency as an unnecessary and bloated bureaucracy that can manipulate or distort information.

But the review was recalibrated after Dan Coats — who was confirmed earlier this month as Trump's intelligence director — vigorously complained about being undermined in the midst of his confirmation hearings, according to U.S. officials. Coats is now leading the review, though it does not include potentially scrapping the office he now runs, according to the officials.

"This is going to be more on the 'trim and optimize' as opposed to 'dismantle,'" said L. Roger Mason Jr., an executive with the nonprofit Noblis and a member of the Trump transition team that focused on the national intelligence directorate.

Trump's White House has looked for other ways seize the reins.

Officials have expressed an interest in having more raw intelligence sent to the president for his daily briefings instead of an analysis of information compiled by the agencies, according to current and former U.S. officials. The change would have given his White House advisers more control about the assessments given to him and sidelined some of the conclusions made by intelligence professionals.
