Well you knew cartoonists would have fun with this.

You know it almost seems unnecessary to illustrate these four as they are essentially comic strip character come to life anyway.

The cartoonist has dressed Palin much too appropriately.

A ignorant "mean girl" cheering on rapist. It is really something to watch a certain type of female stand by and watch other women, men and children raped, assaulted and harmed by a predator and liar. It makes one wonder how they were raised and groomed.

Nah, that can't be Palin - clothes are neat, age & situationally appropriate, and not at all sleazy looking.

  6. Clever and funny cartoon, but sadly out of date in regards to Palin. The cartoonist clearly (and understandably) hasn't paid attention to the has-been harpy in ages and portrays her in her famous 2008 naughty librarian look.

He or she needs to update Palin's caricature to her current persona of desperate, angry, past her prime 2:00 am and nobody's taking her home barfly.

    OT

I'm sorry, but I am now seriously afraid. N. Korea has once again "convicted" an American citizen of crimes against N. Korea. (That's 3 currently.)

Why does that scare me? Because that country is led by a man who was raised to believe he is NEVER wrong and is just insane enough to deliberately taunt the US into a war which will cost - in my opinion - millions of lives, both S. Korean and Japanese. With an army the size N. Korea has, any attack would not be stopped at the DMZ, causing many near it to be slaughtered. Add to that they DO have missile capability that can cover all of the Korean peninsula, and you can count on Seoul being hit.

And if the latest intelligence is correct that they have Sarin gas, we can count on massive losses.

Again, why? Because we have a crazy president who is being advised by someone who has publicly stated his goal is to "tear it all down and start over".

Humpty Trumpty is too stupid to listen to those with brains and I'm afraid he would order an attack without consulting Congress.

    THAT worries me.

Go ahead, trolls. Laugh your asses off. I have enough brains to recognize an egotistical maniac. Will YOU ever see it?

    Nope. Didn't think so.

He may order an attack without consulting Congress, however, he would probably discuss it with Princess Ivanka, and as long as it's not during Shabbat, she would probably nix the idea.

      So there's that.

Leland, sorry, but you have quite a few things wrong. North Korea uses hostage taking to get visits from high profile US negotiators because we don't have normal diplomatic channels.

Two, it isn't the size of their(DPRK)army at all, moving troops is slow and unwieldy. Their uber fortified artillery are only 35 miles from Seoul- and that would be the danger. Read this: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/north-korea-artillery_us_58f631a4e4b0b9e9848eb990

And remember Leland, the Trumpkins don't care that he's a mentally certifiable egomaniac, as long as his mental illness causes him to subscribe to their deplorable, despicable -isms: racism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia, misogyny, etc. Hillary was spot on.

      @ 6:20

I am quite well aware of how the N. Korean government utilizes hostages. They've been doing it for decades. HOWEVER, this is the fist time they have tried it with an ignorant egomaniac in the White House! The only hope I hold out for that NOT being a trigger is that the man being held is a naturalized citizen and you know how Humpty Trumpty feels about non-whites!

A huge portion of their army is VERY close to the DMZ, so movement isn't that necessary. And despite all the massive improvements in artillery and aerial equipment such as missiles, it still takes boots on the ground to HOLD whatever is "conquered" through use of those mediums. AND, while we are constrained by concern for civilians and non-combatants, THEY won't be.

And believe me, with the history of that bunch, they WILL try to take over the south once things begin.

@ 6:26 (about the trumpkins) And what is it that makes you think that wasn't what I was attempting to say. This is the first time in the Korean situation we have had two maniacs running things. You don't think that's a reason to be fearful?

      @6:26 about the Huffington Post

The one thing I noticed that was NOT mentioned in that article was this: Un is CRAZY! He was raised that way and doesn't give a damn about what it costs his people. HE will be safe because he is NEVER far from his ultimate bunker, where he THINKS he will be safe. His People? He feels they are garbage.

And finally, for Nottobedisplayed, that is exactly my point. Our people will be the first taken out followed by whatever else they feel is needful to get across that line and south - especially since Seoul is only 35 miles from the DMZ. BTW, if all their artillery was spread out evenly across the peninsula, they would have nearly fifty of those artillery per mile. Of course, they aren't, and that is even worse.

My main point is simple: Regardless of who strikes first, there will be massive loss of life on both sides. THAT is my fear and concern.

It's Bill Bramhall- and if you tweet, you can tell him yourself to update his Palin caricature. My guess is, he will tell you no one would recognize her if he did. https://twitter.com/billbramhall?lang=en

Sarah is in good company. If the 4 of them were caricatured for what they truly represent. Their appearance would be so hideous , that we would not be able to unseen them .Plus the nightmares would be traumatic for us all.
I am OK with this cartoon for now .At least it shows them as the fools they all are.Imbeciles!

  15. Only one defect in that cartoon. In the photos you see of the group Trump is turned toward the men with his back to Palin.

    Twice.

In fact, in one he has his hand up to his face like he's blocking his view of her. I'm surprised he didn't stick his fingers in his years to block her word salad.

  16. North Korean has been an international threat for many decades. Most Americans are clueless on the topic, and unaware of previous international crises provoked by North Korea.

Only since the Trump presidency has it received much press attention. Most Americans have given little thought to the hostile intentions of North Korea. Obama took a feasible approach, i.e., if you nuke us, we will nuke you, and we'll all die.

In the early 80s, when I lived in Daegu, there was an international crisis when a KAL airliner was shot down by a Russian fighter pilot near Sakhalin Island. Hundreds of civilians were annihilated. How many readers of this blog remember that? I'm guessing few, if any. Americans prefer to ignore ugly international realities and fall back on feel-good platitudes.

Our entire time at Camp Walker in Daegu, the post was intermittently and absolutely locked down. No one, civilian or military, could enter or leave for hours. We had periodic drills during which we had to report to specific sites to be loaded onto buses with our go-bags, and sit interminably, without food, water, or bathroom facilities, until the drill ended.

In the mid-70s, when my husband was serving an unaccompanied hardship tour as XO at Camp Edwards near the DMZ, an international crisis was provoked by a North Korean massacre of a tree-trimming party of US/South Korean troops. (The trees had to be trimmed so they could maintain a clear vigil against the North Korean enemy.) Any readers here remember that? Probably not. For weeks my husband had standing orders to be prepared to blow up all the ordnance on the base. It was weeks before the danger died down.

Finally the American public is beginning to be aware of the threat North Korea poses via its most recent nutty dictator. He's one of a long line. You can't go back and correct your indifference, but you can start paying attention now.

Trump has demonstrated his ignorance of the well-earned dignity of the South Korean people, who justly take pride in their racial homogeneity. That's a shame.

But the real danger lies in his schoolyard bully bluster in which he makes clear the fact that he has no idea of the reality of nuclear weapons. God grant that his advisors, who have infinitely greater military experience and education than he, can prevail with Trump where his own sense fails him. Otherwise, we are in a world of hurt.

A fatal error in American political thought is to dismiss most threats, through an inherent sense of invulnerability and superiority, and also through a failure of the news to cover real news.
