In the aftermath of a contentious Group of 7 meeting in Taormina, Sicily, where leaders failed to persuade President Trump to back the Paris climate accord, Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany said on Sunday that tried and tested global alliances were no longer as reliable as they once were, citing her experience “in recent days.”
Ms. Merkel, who is campaigning for a fourth term in the September elections, did not name the country or leader she had in mind.
It seemed clear, however, that she was referring mainly to the United States and Mr. Trump, who refused to commit to the goals of the 195-nation climate agreement hammered out in 2015. He has said it would be bad for the United States economy.
“The times in which we could rely fully on others, they are somewhat over,” she said, according to German news media. “This is what I experienced in the last few days.”
And just like that decades of friendship between the United States and Germany come to a close.
I guess this what the White House meant by a "successful" trip.
Here was an observation by former Bush speechwriter David Frum:
This presidency is now officially an international crisis.Since 1945, the supreme strategic goal in Europe of the USSR and then Russia was the severing of the US-German alliance. Trump delivered.— David Frum (@davidfrum) May 28, 2017
How much longer can it be before even the Republicans in Washington realize that everything that America has fought and stood for is now hanging in the balance?
Trump's obsession over Russia probe deepens
ReplyDeleteBut the president's senior aides say he has yet to decide on a strategy for confronting the crises.

We know his strategy. Bully, threaten, terminate. So far that last is only to be fired. I have no doubt before he is forced from office it may progress to assassination.
DeleteAnd, if all else fails, Mialuppa, invade a country.
DeleteBeaglemom
or stage a huge attack on his own people.
DeleteLooks like his strategy is: Start a war with N. Korea
DeleteStarting a war with North Korea will be his undoing. Even the Republicans won't overlook, condone or defend that. He'll be impeached for sure.
DeleteShowdown: U.S. Moving 3rd Carrier Strike Group Near N. Korea

May God and all the spirits help us!
DeleteIs this something that Trump tweeted? I don't think the Navy likes having details of its movements made public.
DeleteBeaglemom
little donnie already blabbed where our two nuclear subs are in the area, so why not tell them about the carriers also.
DeleteI hope China talks to Kim Jong Un and explains what a nutjob Trump is, the political ramifications and not to call his bluff. Trump will never make the first move. He is trying to goad Un and then justify an attack as retaliation. The Chinese know this.

I know "xtians" who voted for Don'T. I know Vietnam Vets who voted for Don'T. And I am appalled that valor, honor, loyalty, discretion and patriotism have been compromised by greed, usurped by 'fake news' and branded with "Make America Great Again".

Hey! Hi Five Georgia Peach! But here's a thought: Don't foget the 40 year plan of a number of Charismatic / Pentacostal Christians - 40 years (generation upon generation) of home schooling, raising as many kids as possible - aim - to capture the Seven Mountains for God (so that Jesus can return in the flesh to earth). Grow up to join the local government, then state government, then Federal Government be a Republican U.S. Senator. Trump is the shiny object - we all focus on getting rid of the shiny object (T) and Rince becomes the Messiahtin place to returnt the earth to God. It's a 40 year plan about to succeed. (Think Sarah P who nearly made it into then White House and her breeding kids). It CAN happen. Unless we catch on.
DeleteI've caught on. I've tried to explain it to people. Ive sent them links as well. They look at me like I'm crazy lol....Several years ago, I believe it was on Letterman, there was this precocious kid who was being home schooled, wore a suit and tie...stating he was going to be president someday. Wish I had paid better attention to his name. The homeschooler 7 mountainers may have a whole Brazil Boy thing going for the next president.

"How much longer can it be before even the Republicans in Washington realize that everything that America has fought and stood for is now hanging in the balance?"
ReplyDeleteAnswer: Too long! Because many of them are in cahoots with Russia and Putin.
Jared Kushner seems to think that the spotlight on his potential crimes will go away if he goes back home to New York.
ReplyDeleteThe New York Times reported, “Still, there are signs that he is tiring of the nonstop combat and the damage to his reputation. He has told friends that he and his wife, Ivanka Trump, have made no long-term commitment to remain by Mr. Trump’s side, saying they would review every six months whether to return to private life in New York.”
The bad news for Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump is that they aren’t going to be able to walk back into their old lives and escape their part in working for Daddy Dearest.
It is like these people are on a different planet and remain completely clueless about what they have gotten themselves in the middle of. Kushner is not going to be able to escape his potentially illegal acts by running back to New York.
At best, Jared Kushner has gotten himself involved in lying on his security clearance form multiple times. At worst, Kushner may have committed crimes against the United States of America. These are not simple problems that will go away if one decides to resign their post as a White House Senior Adviser and go back home to the Big Apple.

Does this mean he will broker MiddleEast peace, solve the opiod problem and fix the economy all between now and June?
DeleteI am constantly stunned and amazed that people who are in the public eye, think they have any privacy and when their 'business' becomes all of our 'business' act all aggrieved about their lack of privacy . It's a tossup.....are they that arrogant or that stupid? They need way better intelligence.

Let's face it, Jared is not very smart. He's rich and he's an aspiring con artist but that's about all.

He will not have a choice. He will be removed.
DeleteHe was exhausted 2 days into his first international trip and had to send Ivanka to interviews in his place. He had to wait for a golf cart to carry his corpulent posterior 700 yards in Italy where the rest of the world leaders walked.
DeleteAt the rate he's going, the failure of his long-abused body will remove him from office before any legal or political process has a chance to do so.
I don't want a fancy funeral for Trump. He has disgraced this country enough.

Hopefully he will be President for life. He'll die in office, the sooner the better.

France’s President Confirms He Intentionally Humiliated Trump With That Handshake (VIDEO)
ReplyDelete...In a follow-up interview, Macron said he grasped onto Trump’s hand with an iron grip with the intention of showing Trump he wasn’t about to be made a fool of.
“My handshake with him, it wasn’t innocent.”
He added: “One must show that you won’t make small concessions, even symbolic ones, but also not over-publicise things, either.”
Macron’s office confirmed the veracity of the president’s comments in Le Journal du Dimanche.
He described the handshake seen ’round the world as a “moment of truth” for Trump. The Republican president had come to bully his European allies — instead they, to a person, stood up to him. The handshake was a symbol of that defiance.
Macron might turn into the go-to guy for how to subvert Trump’s outsized ego. In a later moment of pure trolling, he subtly put Trump in his place with this brutal greeting.

DeleteDonald Trump goes off the Twitter deep end, begins blocking people who make fun of his tweets
ReplyDeleteAt the end of a week which saw him humiliate himself on the world stage and his scandals deepen to include members of his own family, Donald Trump doesn’t appear to be handling the pressure well. On Sunday evening, shortly after complaining about how his tweets are portrayed, Trump began blocking people on Twitter who were making fun of his tweets.
http://www.palmerreport.com/politics/block-twitter-trump/3132/
I heard that a lot of those he (actually, supposedly one of his new lawyers) blocked are actually lawyers, and they congratulated each other and sent each other virtual flowers. They also said they would be back tomorrow...
DeleteIf there were any justice in this world there'd be a way to block pictures of him on Twitter...
DeleteSenate Intel Committee likely already has the Russia documents it just asked Donald Trump campaign for
ReplyDelete...I’ve spoken with current and former attorneys who have experience with these matters in general, and they’ve all told me the same thing: this kind of tactic is often used when copies of the documents being asked for are already in hand. The point of the request is essentially to dare the individuals in question to not turn over their own copies, or even to destroy their copies. In a civil action, that would demonstrate bad faith intent on their part. In a criminal matter such as this one, it means they’ve committed obstruction.

One day after Kremlin says it’s sick of Trump-Russia stories, Donald Trump attacks U.S. media for it
ReplyDelete...Yesterday afternoon, John Aravosis from AMERICAblog shared the following: “CNN reporter in Moscow says Russia is “frustrated” with all the American talk of Trump complicity. And they ‘warned’ US media to stop it” (link). Russian media is largely controlled by the Kremlin, so this warning essentially came from Putin. It was unclear what weight this kind of warning was supposed to have carried, as American media doesn’t bow to pressure from the Kremlin. But it turns out someone else in America does in fact bow to that pressure.
This morning Donald Trump used a series of angry tweets to post the following rant: “It is my opinion that many of the leaks coming out of the White House are fabricated lies made up by the #FakeNews media. Whenever you see the words ‘sources say’ in the fake news media, and they don’t mention names it is very possible that those sources don’t exist but are made up by fake news writers. #FakeNews is the enemy!”
Donald Trump’s sudden return to angry Twitter ranting, after having largely shied away from it for more than a week, seemed to have been timed a little too well with yesterday’s complaint from Russia. Did Russia use backchannels to ask Trump to openly attack the American media for covering the Trump-Russia scandal?

I don't think Trump was allowed to tweet while he was abroad.

ReplyDeleteThis is our President people. He has taken what was once a respected country in less than six months and turned it into Trump the reality show. I am beyond pissed. Stay away from the Wall MR. so called President.Stand back for the real family's that have sacrificed so much. They don't need your coward lazy shit to appear in a golf cart puffing up your chest like you actually care. Ah, Mr. President that is the Fourth Of July.
So why is Ivanka Trump meeting with her father’s personal Russia scandal attorney, and why is she doing so with such haste that it had to take place during a holiday weekend, immediately after she got home from the overseas trip? The republicans will never notice because all they have ever fought for is more power and wealth for themselves at the expense of the people. If trump brings them this, they don't and won't care what happens to the country. They will be willing kremlin stooges as long as their pockets keep being lined.
As along as the orange doofus signs whatever they put in front of him and their stock dividends are making money they really don't give a shit.
