The Republican health care bill would hurt Alaska more than any other state. Of course it would.

Courtesy of ADN:

Rep. Don Young voted for a one-size-fits-all health care bill last week that would harm Alaska more than any other state.

The bill contains much smaller tax credits than the Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare, and makes no geographic allowance for high-cost states like Alaska.

The increase in Alaska would be $12,599 for average out-of-pocket health care costs in the individual health care market, an analyst at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities said.

"Alaska policymakers would likely see waiving protections for people with pre-existing conditions as their only option to stabilize Alaska's market, even though it would put coverage even further out of reach for Alaskans who have the most serious health needs, who could face premium surcharges of tens of thousands of dollars," wrote senior fellow Aviva Aron-Dine of the research institute.

Of course our one and only Congressman, Don Young, voted for the House bill.

However he assures his constituents that they should not worry because the Senate version will be much better.

Which makes one wonder why, if he knew the House bill was so flawed, did he vote for it?

Young has already let it be known that he is running again in 2018 despite being older than dirt.

And there is, unfortunately, a strong chance that he will win again.

Because yes, Alaskans are indeed THAT stupid.

Isn't that what Alaskans voted for? To have the obamacare they enjoy be repealed?

I don't believe that it will pass the senate. It has years of work. It would be better to just put everyone on medicare type coverage and eliminate private insurance all together. This would guarantee that everyone is covered and everyone pays into the system. We should adopt what works in other countries.

In all these years, following the Palin's entry into the National news, I have only seen one small shred of evidence that Alaskans are any smarter than Floridians. Oddly enough that one small shred has moved himself to Florida. Congrats Alaska, the Nutsack State is now smarter than you.

Thank God we still have Colbert, Rachel and Lawrence! I'm sickened to see how MSNBC is changing to the right side!

They can take that ugly broad off anytime that is their newest - the one that has had facial surgery and it's so apparent - she smiles differently and the movement of her mouth is different!

Rachel even welcomed her to the network which was more than she needed to do by a long shot! The gal came from FOX if I remember correctly. Can't think of her name - that's how much impact she's had on me!

The House voted for a bill that puts YOU in front of a firing squad...
but don't worry - the Senate will pass a version that will use smaller caliber bullets.

Ya know, AK could take away native health care from persons making $100k or more or assets in excess of $500k

Native healthcare doesn't come from the state taxes you don't have in Alaska, Native healthcare is from the feds and is poorer than Trumpdon'tcare.

I will be brutally honest in this post and start by saying that I believe in single payer health care. Unfortunately, I'm starting to think that no matter how harmful it will be to the Trump voters, the chips have to fall where they may on healthcare before these idiots grab a vowel.
