A new video by the folks at Funny or Die combines Donald Trump and the "Handmaid's Tale" into something truly horrific.

When I first saw this I thought it would be good for a laugh.

However after watching it I was not laughing at all.

In fact it chilled me to the bone.

The comparisons are simply too close for comfort.

OT:"attempts to connect the dots between Trump real-estate ventures, Russian oligarchs, the 2013 Miss Universe contest in St. Petersburg, and Trump’s mention of WikiLeaks 164 times during the final month of the 2016 campaign. The video has been viewed almost 40,000 views." HE went looking for money, and that’s where his finances intersect with Russian banks and oligarchs that are often just a degree or two of separation from Valdimir Putin. The entire dossier on Trump compiled by ex-British spy Christopher Steele is posted on the website."“I can’t remember any story this sprawling. We’ve been doing this for months, and we meet new characters every day,”There is something infectious about working on a big story, and learning how the Moscow Project operates is very much how journalism works. “It’s an incredible story and exciting, but also terrifying,”

  2. I agree. It is something that could happen under trump, and the republicans will go along with him.

Is congress ready to dump him? they have the final say in impeachment -- have they got what they want from him? tax "reform" in their favor" (no); voting themselves immune from criminal persecution? (yes) fucking the Democracts enough? (no)... giving themselves a raise? (yes) ...undermining every fed department (little bit)...

Are they in jeopardy of losing their seats? (no)...then no impeachment. Is gerrymandering in place extreme enough so they Can't! (then no)

"Included on Mueller’s team are longtime law firm partner James Quarles, who got his start in Washington as an assistant prosecutor in the Watergate scandal; Andrew Weissmann, the head of the Justice Department’s criminal fraud unit, who is best known for his work in prosecuting the Enron accounting scandal and for trying dozens of cases related to the notorious Genovese and Gambino crime families; and Jeannie Rhee, who previously worked at the Department of Justice while advising the White House and the attorney general on executive power and national-security issues."

The power and the importance of whistleblowing is part of the American tradition and as old as the republic itself.

    Your FIREd!

    1. #84 is even better.

Connecting the dots between Trump, the Russians and the DNC hack. (Which all got buried in the press by COVFEFE and the Paris pullout.) He makes the case that the Trump/Kisliyak meetings was serious on a nuclear level and the media is ditzing around with grenade level shit.

"the US media surprised to $ee people giving his motorcade the ‘bird’ aka FUCK YOU. "his motorcade greeted by middle fingers and thumbs-downs."
"James Shaw said later in parliament that New Zealand had a “proud history” of standing up to the US over nuclear weapons: “Today we should stick up for the climate.”

Well his taste is tacky enough for trump supporters so it probable will be a hit.

As for the ethics violations, it seems like the ethics office hasn’t told him NO. Until they stop him he will continue to profit from the office of the presidency.

The Trump Organization’s new budget hotel venture is an ethics nightmare

The Trump Organization announced on Monday that it is moving into the budget hotel business — capitalizing on Donald Trump’s popularity in Middle America. The idea is an ethics nightmare.

The organization plans to launch the chain of hotels in small towns around the country, the kinds of places Trump visited during his campaign stops, according to the New York Times. This new venture takes its cues from the president’s “America First” theme — and the hotels will be decorated with patriotic flair and feature American-made products. The organization plans to launch this experiment in Mississippi, a state that turned out heavily for Trump during the election, with a Trump campaign donor.

The new venture is a reflection of how the Trump family has approached the presidency: as a way to profit from Trump’s politics. The organization has already come under scrutiny after foreign diplomats booked rooms in the Trump International Hotel in Washington, DC, around inauguration (Trump said he would donate the profits, but as of mid-March, there was no evidence he had done so) — and Trump tends to spend his time golfing at clubs he owns, meaning the Secret Service needs to funnel money directly into the president’s pocket in order to protect him.

    As Vox’s Matthew Yglesias writes:
Trump isn’t failing. He and his family appear to be making money hand over fist. It's a spectacle the likes of which we've never seen in the United States, and while it may end in disaster for the Trumps someday, for now it shows no real sign of failure.

Now it seems the Trump Organization is trying to make money from the last places in the country where the president remains overwhelmingly popular: rural, working-class America. It’s an unusual project for the Trump Organization, which until now has focused exclusively on luxury properties and hotels, many of them abroad. But right now that brand is taking a hit due to controversies over the president’s policies and conduct.
Because Trump still earns money from his business — and hasn’t released his tax returns — it’s impossible to guarantee that the president is not motivated in his policy decisions by a desire to enrich himself and his family.

Capitalizing on his campaign and presidency to launch a new hotel chain does not mean that Trump is doing anything illegal. But ethics experts have been pushing Trump to completely separate himself from his businesses to eliminate the appearance of impropriety. The director of the US Office of Government Ethics, Walter Shaub, has repeatedly urged Trump to sell his assets and put them in a blind trust, which he hasn’t done. .....

      with a bernie madoff ending?...

    2. Hopefully not. Madoff is sucking on the taxpayer tit.

I'd like Trump to have a massive coronary after being thoroughly disgraced through a successful impeachment. I want him laid low, bankrupted, destroyed. Then I want him to have a stroke and be just conscious enough to realize he is peeing and shitting his diaper and must rely on others to clean him because he is physically too debilitated to even feed himself. I want him (and his family) to lose everything. I want him to be reduced to poverty and living a life of despair and in constant annoyance. I want him BROKEN. I want him to live in misery, a prisoner of his own body.

Of course, even if he lost everything, he'd still have his pension and healthcare from being president. Unless, of course, that is stripped from him as a result of the impeachment process.

Don't think he can be rendered in complete poverty? All that has to happen is that all his creditors foreclose on those loans and take whatever he has in kind as payment.

      A girl can dream.

s.p. tweet tweet drumpf 1st"The FAKE MSM is working so hard trying to get ME not to use social media," the president tweeted Tuesday morning, before diving back into his repeated reminders to his now over 31 million followers that he won last year’s election. "Sorry folks, but if I would have relied on the Fake News of CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, washpost or nytimes, I would have had ZERO chance winning WH."

"The FAKE MSM is working so hard trying to get ME not to use Social Media. They HATE that I can get the honest and unfiltered message out."

"Bitch has always been political, but we want to be intentional about not letting political coverage, especially of Trump and Trump’s administration, take over the other things that are happening at Bitch. We’ve tried to compartmentalize that coverage of Trump. I think the last time I ran the numbers on it, the readership of our political coverage has been up by 17 percent since the election.

The fact that we’ve elected a white supremacist to the White House reflects the culture that we’ve always been living in. Now that more people know about that and believe it, because it’s been validated by 63 million Americans, let’s talk about that. Bitch has always been here to do the same work, and I think that speaks to the lasting power of the mission we were founded with."

  15. If you haven't read the book, Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood, you should, it is chilling and possible.

    1. I anticipated the direction this country was going years ago.

In 2014, when the U.S. still participated in World Book Night, I volunteered to give out free books. I chose The Handmaid's Tale. The box arrived and I spent a lovely Sunday afternoon giving away free copies in our biggest city park. Surprisingly there were people that turned down a FREE book. There must have been about two dozen copies. I hope those people read the book and are thinking about what they read now.
