Tonight, I wish to tell the United States: France believes in you. The world believes in you. I know that you are a great nation. I know your history – our common history.
To all scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, responsible citizens who were disappointed by the decision of the President of the United States, I want to say that they will find in France a second homeland. I call on them: Come and work here with us, to work together on concrete solutions for our climate, our environment.
I can assure you: France will not give up the fight.
First thing I notice is that the President of France has a much better command of the English language than does our current American president.
And secondly I once again find myself green with envy toward the people of France.
I'm REALLY getting tired of that.
I seem to remember him saying this already sometime last month, even though this is today's tweet...
ReplyDeleteYes, I was correct. He first said it some time ago in French. This time in English.
DeleteI believe he said this the day after Brussels meeting of NATO...
ReplyDeleteFrench President Emmanuel Macron is a bigger man than trump (not in size) but in diplomacy, heart and mentality.
ReplyDeleteTrump is a hoohah grabbing golden shower weasel. Shame on America for letting him get this far.
Vive LA France !!
ReplyDeleteThank you trump for you are an absolute moron!!!!
Thank you for being a retarded role model for all the world to see. We are a fucking laughingstock!
for the first time in months i feel hope.
ReplyDeleteToo bad Trump has none of the class of Mr.Macron! so appreciate the message he provided the American people. Trump is against our European allies, but I'm not!
ReplyDeleteFuck Donald Trump! May his first term end quickly!
May his ONLY term end quickly.
DeleteThere. I fixed it for you.
Viva La French Fries
ReplyDeleteInspiring, wish we had such a leader!
ReplyDeleteWhile little donnie is trying to take the USA back to the 1800’s, I am hoping the scientists and CEOs continue to follow the Paris Accord thereby giving little donnie the big middle finger.
ReplyDeleteAfter all the future is not in coal but solar and wind energy. My big worry is we can no longer depend on the EPA to publish legitimate scientific data.
I will continue to do my part and wave to all the suckers as I glide by in my Prius while they fill their gas guzzling SUV and trucks.
Even in 1800's treason was the ultimate crime. Do you know what they "the americans" did to traitors? Trump would not survive in 1800's nor would his un-American gang of scientologist.
DeleteWe don't have to rely on the EPA for data any more.
DeleteThe current political climate has changed the way scientists operate. Instead of closely guarding their data so they can get the "credit" for publishing first, they are sharing their data online, putting it in the cloud for all to see. Yes, even the public. In this way other scientists can see their data, add to it, gather a lot of different data, etc. We should see quicker and more accurate results from all of this sharing.
In this way they've made the government irrelevant. We can't trust the government anyway, so they're making an end run and taking the government out of the loop.
Just another way Trump has made himself and his administration irrelevant.
Citizen Science!

Macron trolls Trump on Twitter. (Because we know Trump reads twitter and I'll bet he's looking at Macron's feed after that speech.

Schwarzenegger is attacking Trump too.

NO one is happy with Trump except maybe Scott Pruitt and some unemployed coal miners. Oh and Jeff Sessions but who cares what the fuck he wants.
Tillerson and Cohn both were for staying in. Also Rick Perry, James Mattis, Nikki Halley and Ivanka Trump.
"Trump’s decision also defies the desires of many major corporate and fossil fuel interests. Oil giants including Exxon Mobil Corp. and Royal Dutch Shell pleaded with the administration to stay in the deal, as did coal producers and corporate behemoths such as Walmart, General Mills and DuPont, all of which operate internationally.
The deal is popular with the public. Sixty-one percent of Americans said the U.S. should stay in the deal while just 17 percent supported backing out, according to a HuffPost/YouGov poll taken in May. Even ousted Fox News pundit Bill O’Reilly urged Trump to keep the U.S. in the pact last November."

Spicy boy assured us that people in the WH know what it meant :)
ReplyDeleteWell isn’t that special, do they all have little donnie secret decoder rings?
We don’t need a special decoder ring to figure out donnie is an idiot.
===========================
Bill Maher mocks Trump’s absurd ‘covefefe’ gaffe: ‘That’s when we knew dad couldn’t live on his own’
He noted that it was a lot like the commercials for the assisted living center. Ultimately the children say “that’s when we knew Dad could no longer live on his own.”
“The last thing I want to hear from this White House is, ‘his fingers just hit the wrong button,'” Maher said.
Maher isn’t worried, however, because he said that Trump has put Jared Kushner in charge of “covfefe.”

If it's some top secret inside knowledge, then why did he have to tweet it? Wouldn't the insiders already know?
DeleteOh that's right, Donnie is all about sharing top secret information....
Google michael Bloomberg and u will find him trending. He is putting up 15 million to help meet this country's climate committment. He is also trying to organize mayors, governors and corporations to meet our commitment without Dolt45. Trump should take notes on leadership from bloomberg and macron. And after all, bloomberg is a real billionaire
ReplyDeleteJerry Brown is traveling to China to meet with leaders on climate. California is in a partnership with China on climate. (Or something like that.) Brown and the governors of Washington State and New York are already on record of saying their states will continue to meet the agreements of the Paris accord despite Trump.
DeleteTrump isn't just going to be on the outside of world leaders, he is also going to be dealing with defiance domestically from governors, mayors and CEOs.
He's sliding toward irrelevant now. Just wait until he is simply dismissed and ignored.
Charlie Brown, Republican Governor of Massachusetts as well, along with the Governors of Vermont, Rhode Island and Connecticut. Fourteen so far.
DeleteMy Governor too--John Hickenlooper of Colorado, along with Michael Hancock, the mayor of Denver.
DeleteDear Kathy Griffin, you are not funny and have never been funny. You use humor as an excuse to be a terrible person and have for years. Comedians should not defend you. Comedy IS the last line of defense but comedy is not comedy when the "act" is something that convinces some people a person is dead. But yes, comedy does generally derive from playfully mocking human nature.
ReplyDeleteLearn the difference. Learn how to be funny. Actually, maybe just stick to aiding the gay community in their quest to become globally accepted as humans. THAT is what I respect about you and only what I respect about you.
Sincerely,
Julie from Minnesota
Jeebus.
DeleteDid you look at that photo and think that Kathy Griffen killed Trump and severed his head, then posed for a photo?
No one looked at that photo and assumed someone was dead, let alone Trump. (BTW, with American's obsession with violence and the gruesome, I've seen worse on primetime TV so don't play the squeamish card.)
It's clear you're a Trump supporter.
The lack of a sense of humor or even mention of the First Amendment is pretty much a dead giveaway.
Well, Julie, let me ask you a few questions.
DeleteYou know Ted Nugent? Several times Nugent said President Obama should be dragged from the White House with a noose around his neck. Did you complain then?
Former Congressman Joe Walsh interrupted President Obama's SOTU message by shouting "You lie!!" Did you complain then?
Senator Mitch McConnell said his mission was to make President Obama a one-term President. Did you complain then?
Of course you didn't./
Now kindly go play with yourself.

How long are the Republicans going to let this idiot Trump go on? Our allies hate him, hell most of America hates him.
ReplyDeleteHe is an bloviating idiot who is trying to cut a deal like America is one of his properties. This assholes downfall can't come fast enough.
At least France knows that the majority of America's people will not stand for it.
Everything is a business deal to Trump. He is trying to isolate us from our allies for money. No one can trust us anymore.
"Oh you need help? Well those troops are going to cost you" Here's the deal, send money.
The puffed up MAGA fool is destroying our honor. The bone spurs cant serve shithead thinks he knows about war. It's up to us now, the citizens to speak up. Where are all the protests? Every day he gets away with his shit is everyday we become to find this acceptable.
He came into power at a time we became complacent, when we could not imagine this level of crap happening. Eight years of Obama and we get this. All the rednecks are now free to bully because our President is one.
I admit i cant afford to go to Washington to protest and i bet there are are a lot of us out there in this position.
Where can we go to have our voices heard en mass?
MM

Landon Wark:

Actually, I think that last has the ring of truth to it. Once they eliminate the minimum wage I can totally see the Republicans rescinding the child labor laws.

ReplyDeleteDecent countries and friends of the USA know what happened to us. They know that crooked trump is a bully and mobster. They will help rid this nasty dirty toxic mess we face today. This will be a short chapter in our history but most important. Russia will remain on shit list of sanctions and enemy. DICKtaters will be overthrown and out.
ReplyDeleteMacron seems to enjoy sticking it to Trump. May it continue unabated.

ReplyDelete"The French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs posted an “edited” version with what officials said are the actual FACTS of the matter."
Trump will end up doing the opposite. He will chase away jobs, not create jobs. Future jobs are in clean energy. The so called smart businessman whose businesses ended up in bankruptcy, or being sued in court doesn't even know where the jobs of the future will be.
ReplyDeleteBy the time we get rid of this idiot, it will be to late. Some other country will be the leader of future clean energy.
Along with his greatest tax cuts in history he will bankrupt America as he has his companies.
