Trump takes to Twitter to call James Comey "cowardly."

Once again Comey did not "leak."

He simply gave his friend access to memos, containing no classified information, that he himself wrote down about his own interactions with Donald Trump, AFTER he was no longer an employee of the government.

In response to all of this the Senate is considering the idea of issuing subpoenas for the rest of Comey's notes about meetings with Trump.

I think that is a great idea since we know that once the Senate has them they will be immediately leaked to the public, and this time Trump will not be able to blame Comey.

By the way it is being reported that Trump's son, Don Jr., seems to have at least partially confirmed some of Comey's testimony:

During an interview with Fox News, Donald Trump Jr expressed disbelief that Mr Comey felt “threatened” by his conversation with the President before he was fired.

“When he tells you to do something, guess what? There's no ambiguity in it, there's no, 'Hey, I'm hoping,'“ 39-year-0ld Mr Trump said.

“You and I are friends: 'Hey, I hope this happens, but you've got to do your job.' That's what he told Comey.

“And for this guy [Comey] as a politician to then go back and write a memo: 'Oh, I felt threatened.' He felt so threatened — but he [President Trump] didn't do anything.”

Well he fired him so that seems like something that Trump did.

And since according to Don Jr. this conversation DID take place, just like Comey said it did, and then Comey was fired fairly soon after to, as Trump told his Russian pals, "relieve great pressure" from the Russia probe, I think the case for obstructionism is all but made right there.

By the way Comey was not the only target of Trump's Twitter outrage this morning.
Yes, THEY'RE the obstructionists.

Trump is the fucking coward, NOT Comey!

IMPEACH, IMPEACH, IMPEACH is the only answer to the bullshit and deeds Trump has done since taking the oath (which he is not keeping, by the way). He's committed treason and needs to be gone after for doing so.

Impeachment will never happen - it's a nightmare
trump can pardon everyone, then quick (using an excuse to save face) and pence pardon's him - they all get away with it. (trump can technically pre-emptively pardon himself - and just because no one has the nerve to do it before - don't put it past him if he decides to stay in office)

He can only pardon himself on state charges, not federal.

Now we are waiting for Mueller to kick them both in the butt ... They will both feel great pain shortly.

Nice try, Gryphen. Once again you could not be more wrong if you tried.

Sure, the Comey memo isn't leaking, but did you and your little libtard blog buddies ever stop to consider that Emperor Drumpf knows a LOT more than you do? No... I didnt think so.... smh

Drumpf is playing 9 dimensional Yahtzee with one diminutive hand tied behind his back, while you losers are playing 3 dimensional checkers!! LOL HA HA HA HA!!!!!

Drumpf is hinting on Twitter in very presidential fashion that Comey may have transferred to Chinese, Iranians, and British intelligence agents, top secret plans for an American doomsday device soon to be placed on the moon by astronauts working for T.H.R.U.S.H. and C.H.A.O.S.

You didnt know that, did you? Bet you're feeling a little sheepish that ONLY Drumpf can fix it!! Thank you Lord Jeebus for giving us Presdient Drumpf!!

And Comey's crimes against Drumpf/Humanity maybe even worse that that!! Check Drumpf's Twitter feed often for the latest shocking and/or baseless accusations!!!

The final point is, Comey is one bad hombre, according to Drumpf and the Constitution, and deserves the worst punishment possible. With or without a trial! Might save the taxpayers money if there's no trial, but that's a decision only Drumpf can make, if I understand the legal system as well as I hope I do.

In conclusion, let's all remember that the reason Drumpf was elected was because he promised to be the greatest president since Pharaoh Amenhotep.

Either that or the Russians hacked the electoral process and the actual choice of the American people was Hillary Clinton.

Trump is going to keep everything. The yacht, the medal, everything.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/trumps-justice-department-memo-may-be-bigger-than_us_593bf207e4b014ae8c69e0be?section=us_politics

It's his way of heading off using the emoluments clause to impeach him. And even if he is impeached, he intends to keep everything given to him. The $4,000 Japanese golf club, the gold medal, the yacht, the watches. EVERYTHING. He'll be grifting every foreign head of state from now on. He'll make it clear if they want anything they better grease his palm but good.

"Yesterday, as the news cycles were dying down, the Trump Justice Department (DOJ) dropped a bombshell brief which Bloomberg reported. Citing George Washington as precedent, the DOJ is saying that it is AOK for President Trump to take foreign governments’ and state-controlled banks’ money for goods and services without congressional approval, that it is not a violation of the Emoluments Clause of the United States Constitution.

The Citizens United decision opened the floodgates of money from America’s wealthiest, and potentially anyone else funding SuperPacs to buy an election.

This Trump DOJ Brief, if accepted by Judge Ronnie Abrams, hearing the case brought by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, will open the floodgates of influence peddling for any president who can do business with entities attached to a foreign power.

    The brief states:

Neither the text nor the history of the clauses shows that they were intended to reach benefits arising from a president’s private business pursuits having nothing to do with his office or personal service to a foreign power... Were plaintiffs’ interpretation correct, presidents from the very beginning of the Republic, including George Washington, would have received prohibited ‘emoluments.’ "

"Trump has directly benefitted economically from foreign powers, and continues to do so. Foreign government employees book stays at Trump’s D.C. hotel and other hotels and golf courses, by the admission of many, to curry favor. He was granted dozens of trademarks by the Chinese. His organization receives payments from Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority. Eric Trump bragged, years before Trump took office, that his dad’s golf courses were backstopped by $100M from Russian banks during the Great Recession. Those banks not like ones in the U.S. and are heavily state-controlled.

No other president in history, including Washington, has had the hubris, gaul, chutzpah, to demolish the emoluments clause.

If this memo is given any standing by Judge Abrams in the CREW case, any future presidential candidate could set up investments that would allow foreign governments to funnel money to a then president through their personal business dealings.

It is bad enough that Citizens United allows for so many slush funds of dark money that state actors from other countries could contribute to the myriad fly-by-night legal entities used to the influence of an American election without detection.

If the Judge allows this, the taint of the Trump Compromise of Emoluments would forever question who ”owns” the White House. The office of the President will lose stature and power, both here and abroad, and another pillar of the U.S. Constitution will be ground into the dust of history by greedy men long on ambition, and short on patriotism and honor."

Also, did Trumps toothy idiot son mean that Trump would never use the word hope, and he'd be more blatant in pressuring Comey? I admit I did not know what Trump Jr was getting at. Which does point to the fact that the Trumps try to get out as many versions of a story as they can to keep dodging the fire. Someday, (soon I hope) the Trump family will finally say something that breaks the camels back.

The Republicans (using Trump) are rigging 2020 already. They are underfunding the census. You know what the census is responsible for? Well, there will be REDISTRICTING in 2020 based on the census. We all know that is one of the most favorite ways Republicans use to suppress voters and rig elections.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/trump-census-bureau_us_593aefcae4b0b13f2c6a2dbc?ncid=inblnkushpmg00000009

"Historically, when the bureau is preparing for the decennial census and starting the Economic Census, it gets a dramatic funding boost to address the enormous tasks. From 2007 to 2008, Congress increased the agency’s budget by nearly $500 million to cover prep work that year alone.

Nothing of that sort is happening this year, and the agency’s funding was already lower than its estimated need. The outgoing Obama administration had recommended a 2017 allocation of $1.63 billion. But Congress never got around to passing a regular budget for this year, instead pushing through a string of stopgap bills that gave the Census Bureau $1.47 billion ― a shortfall of about $160 million. The Trump administration’s proposed 2018 budget would only barely boost it, to $1.5 billion."

"As of June 30, the bureau will have no director. There isn’t a deputy director in line to replace Thompson, because that person left in January. There isn’t even a political appointee in place who is directly responsible for overseeing the bureau at its parent agency, the Department of Commerce.

Even before the sudden leadership vacuum, Dave Powner, the GAO’s head of IT management oversight, saw trouble looming.

“Historically, if you look at the previous decennials, there’s been a lot of money thrown at this late to bail out late starts and mismanagement and other things,” Powner said at the same hearing where Thompson spoke. “And I think you’re potentially heading down that path again.”

At a June 8 Senate hearing on the Commerce Department’s budget, Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross ― a billionaire who was once a Census enumerator ― fielded complaints about the cost overrun, and said the department and Trump’s Office of Management and Budget were undertaking a “crash review of what has been going on.” None of the senators asked about the flatlined budget."

  17. TOLD YOU SO.

    Comey's testimony doesn't mean squat.

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/gop-shrugs-off-comey-revelations-210438486.html

"The FBI chief he fired called the president a liar, but the response from many Republicans was a collective shrug. The GOP still needs Donald Trump if it has any hope of accomplishing its legislative agenda and winning elections, and it's going to take more than James Comey's testimony to shake them.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Friday boasted of the GOP's accomplishments under Trump thus far, and promised more to come, making no mention of Comey in a speech. A group of House conservatives discussed taxes and the budget, with no reference to Comey or the federal investigations into Russia's election meddling and possible collusion with the Trump campaign.

Elsewhere, there were few outward signs of concern from the top Republican officials, donors and business leaders who gathered largely behind closed doors in Park City, Utah, for a conference hosted by former presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

"The people in this room, who give money to the Republican Party and who are focused on helping get Republicans elected, they do it because they believe in an agenda," Spencer Zwick, House Speaker Paul Ryan's fundraising chief, said in an interview. As for the Comey testimony, "there's nothing we can do about it," Zwick said."

And there you have it. I'm sure it was satisfying to Comey to vindicate himself in public but other than that, nothing much will come of it.

"A litmus test comes in two weeks when voters choose a new House member in a competitive Georgia district, where a GOP loss would unnerve some two dozen incumbents like McSally."

And Ossoff will lose because he had his chance during the primary and only got 48% because of lack of support by the DCCC. Now he's head to head with Karen "Susan Koman" Handel in a Republican majority district and he'll lose.

Republicans have nothing to fear as long as they can keep winning no matter what they say or do. They don't see Trump as a liability and Comey's testimony didn't change anything.
