Wyoming mayor takes down portraits of Donald Trump and Mike Pence and puts up photo of Native American chief instead.

A Wyoming mayor’s decision to remove portraits of President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence from the town hall and replace them with a picture of a Native American chief has some community members up in arms.

Mayor Pete Muldoon of Jackson, Wyoming, directed town staff members to make the swap on June 5, saying there is no requirement to have a picture of the president displayed in the building.

“When the Town Of Jackson decides to honor such a divisive person, it is taking sides against some of its residents,” Muldoon said in the statement. “The Town Council has made no such decision, and until and unless it does, that kind of honor will not be bestowed.”

Muldoon said he isn’t sure who hung the photographs of Trump and Pence in January, but that the town council, a non-partisan body, never authorized their display.

“We aren’t required to display signs of respect ― our respect is earned, not demanded,” Muldoon said. “Dictators like Joseph Stalin required their portraits to be displayed everywhere. Luckily, we do not live in a dictatorship.”

And this is in Wyoming?  Damn that's awesome!

Apparently the pictures of the current president of the united States has had a place on the wall of this town hall since the 1800's, but that was before we got stuck with this Russian operative.

Some of the residents are not happy with this decision, but I am willing to bet that they will be coming around at some point.

I agree with the mayor but I'm not sure how long he'll still be in the job. But, then again, with a 60% at least disapproval rating, maybe the majority of his constituents agree with him. That would be great.

    1. He is greatly respected in the area. The only chief to get a military burial upon his death.

The last paragraph of the story hit the nail smack on the head! And this is Wyoming? Fuckin' A Bubba; the mayor has bigger balls than trump and his clown posse!!

It's really great to see people with a sense of dignity and honour stand up for their country! This may be the start of a new awakening for those who now realize that they were hood-winked by a smooth-talking con man!!

Teton County where Jackson is located was the only county that voted for Hillary.

I will tell you what I noticed. During the election period and afterwards I would see Trump bumper stickers but now I haven't seen one. People are ashamed of him.

  7. The account I read said that current pictures of the president have only been displayed since 2000 with Bush and Cheney. And according to the mayor the council didn't approve that one either. They just appeared. After that Obama and Biden were displayed.

This year the mayor decided to put a stop to it and you read his words and his reasons.

Jackson is in Teton county, which voted over 60% for Hillary, even though Trump won the state.

Teton county is where Yellowstone is. Yellowstone just got put back on my bucket list. I won't go to red states but since Teton county is blue and Jackson is where the airport is, I might get a chance to go to Yellowstone after all.
