ABC invites Eric Bolling of Fox News to join Sunday panel, because apparently journalism is dead.

Courtesy of Media Matters:

Fox News host and Trump shill Eric Bolling is scheduled to appear as a panelist on ABC’s This Week. Aside from cheerleading everything President Donald Trump says and does, Bolling was a prominent birther who challenged former President Barack Obama’s legitimacy, as well as a racist, sexist and Islamophobic conspiracy theorist. Bolling has been one of Trump’s most outspoken media sycophants, even on Fox News.

He’s dismissed Trump’s lies, downplayed the controversies surrounding the president, and deflected blame from Trump and his allies. Even his colleagues at Fox News have called him a “Trump apologist.” Bolling has also criticized the integrity of the host of This Week, George Stephanopoulos. In October, Bolling speculated that Good Morning America, ABC’s morning show which Stephanopoulos also hosts, did not cover hacked emails from former Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s top aides released on WikiLeaks because Stephanopoulos used to work for former President Bill Clinton.

MM goes on to list a number of sexist, racist, and Islamophobic remarks that Bolling has made over the years, complete with video, and then sums up the problem with his appearance on what is considered a serious Sunday news program at the bottom of the page:

During his time at Fox News, Bolling has pushed a number of conspiracy theories. He was a big force behind the “birther” conspiracy theory that alleged that Obama was not born in the U.S. After Obama released his long-form birth certificate, Bolling still claimed, that “there is a legitimate question as to whether or not the president of the United States is allowed to be president of the United States.”

Bolling took it upon himself to thoroughly examine Obama’s birth certificate on air, even speculating that the certificate’s border showed it may have been photoshopped. Bolling also speculated about the death of former Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich who was murdered in 2016, dismissing the police conclusion that his death was the result of a botched robbery: “It’s clearly not a robbery. There wasn’t a robbery. … This was a hit.” Bolling concluded that there’s “lots of smoke right now” and that the death was “like an episode of Homeland.”

Beyond that, Bolling has pushed a number of other conspiracy theories, alleging that Obama was trying to “bring people closer to the cities” to keep an eye on them and questioning whether Obama “let” an oil rig leak so he “could renege on his promise” to “allow some offshore drilling.” Perhaps his most entertaining conspiracy theory came in 2011 when Bolling wondered if “liberal Hollywood was using class warfare [in a Muppets movie] to brainwash our kids.”

Simply put not only should Eric Bolling NEVER be given legitimacy by inviting him on an actual news show, but NONE of the Fox News talking heads, or Right Wing radio hosts, should be provided that platform to spread their lies to the American people.

And yes I include Megyn Kelly, Greta Van Susteren, and Hugh Hewitt in that category.

These are NOT journalists.

They are purveyors of conspiracy theories, alternative facts, and Right Wing talking points.

There is a place for that, but it is certainly NOT on actual news programs that advertise themselves as practicing journalism.

Does anyone actually learn anything from watching these shows? Why would I tune in to see a bunch of think-they-know-it-alls talk over each other. It isn't journalism; not even close!

Not a Facebook fan, but Dan Rather has posted excellent commentaries. As for Megyn, if your show is losing to "America's Funniest Videos," shouldn't that tell you something?

I don't watch these shows! Full of liars and deceit and it's so obvious if you do your own fact checking.

Megyn will be out. What a disaster she turned out to be!

If ABC is doing this just for the ratings, then shame, shame on them. They may claim that giving Trump a** kissers air time shows that they are unbiased; however, by letting these individuals spew their nonsense on network television it legitimizes what they are saying in the minds of those who support Trump.

“it depends what the courts will say.”
"Americans—myself included—are prey to a form of magical thinking about law and the Constitution. The Framers believed the law would fix it, and that makes it easy to hope that the lawyers will fix it. The lawyers became the wizards, and the Constitution became a book of spells, and the best thing a citizen could hope to do is make a donation to a group of lawyers who could perform the right incantations, fondle the correct talisman, and save democracy."The rule of law is precisely as robust as our willingness to fight for it. And to fight for it is not quite the same thing as to ask, “Isn’t there a law?”

I tried to listen to Moockie and Jake. His voice gets old fast, he is slick and smooth enough but comes off as bull. Just another con to build up the bigly con.

He's going to focus on the agenda. Sarah will be the one dealing with the press. Time will tell how they do. We know they think they are great, rah, rah. He loves the president. He loves the president. He loves the president.

I was expecting a better performance, if he comes out to public. He is not a person you want to hear or listen to. He needs to just do the behind the scene work and find a quality press sec'y to speak in public.

She may be horrible but this administration is quickly running out of options to fill empty positions. What qualified, respected PR professional would be willing to destroy their reputation to take that job?

Look at what it's done to Spicer's reputation. Who's going to hire him after all the blatant lies he's told and the gyrations he's had to perform to make Trump's constant contradictions seems less ridiculous? He lost all credibility the very first day when he stood at the podium and claimed that it was the largest inauguration ever, and he may never get his good name back again.

We’re an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you’re studying that reality — judiciously, as you will — we’ll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that’s how things will sort out. We’re history’s actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.”"When ideology rules all, acknowledging dissonant facts is treason. WATCH: Al Franken laughs at Scaramucci’s ‘bizarre’ use of Trump as a source that Russians didn’t hack election

...“What can you say? It’s just bizarre,” Franken continued. “I mean, it’s clear that we’re seeing now that members of his campaign met with Russians even though they were testifying before the judiciary committee answering a question from oh, say me.”

“You mean [Attorney General] Sessions?” Tapper added.

“Yes, saying that he had not met with Russians during the campaign,” Franken replied. “Now it turns out, it sounds like that Kislyak said they met in April which is a meeting that we — that he hasn’t said that he had, and in which they talked about subjects regarding the campaign and about Russia, and about sanctions.”

“Do you want Sessions to come back to the Senate Judiciary?” Tapper pressed.

“Absolutely,” Franken replied. “I think the Chairman Grassley does want him to come back.”

Franken was later stunned when told that Donald Trump Jr.’s testimony later this week would not be under oath.

“No. That’s not good enough,” the surprised Franken remarked. “They should be under oath and I did not know it would be not under oath.”

They should ALWAYS be under oath when being asked questions and the 'show' should be public and done openly and honestly before ALL Americans!

There is not one of the Trumps that is to be trusted! Especially the creep supposedly in charge of our country.

Jill Stein has Trump-like meltdown after Senate demands to see her communications with Donald Trump Jr.

...Most of the names are Trump campaign figures or prominent Russian figures. But one name stood out: Jill Stein, the 2016 Green Party candidate for President. In response, Stein has staged a Twitter meltdown that’s eerily similar to the tactics used by Donald Trump.

Jill Stein began ranting on Twitter about how the Congressional investigation into the Trump campaign’s collusion with the Russian government is merely a “McCarthyist witch hunt.” She then began blaming it all on Hillary Clinton, before invoking Donald Trump’s favorite deflection phrase: “The notion I communicated with Trump Jr is laughable. This whole thing is an obvious smear designed to generate a fake news feeding frenzy.”

Stein then continued dishonestly attacking Hillary Clinton, even though Clinton has nothing to do with the bipartisan Senate investigation into the Trump campaign’s collusion with Russia. Stein also tried to further the long-disproven lunatic conspiracy theory that the Democratic Party somehow tried to rig the primary race against Bernie Sanders, an assertion that even Sanders has dismissed as fiction. But apart from the fact that Stein’s utterly deranged Twitter storm feels like it could have been ghost-written by Donald Trump, what stands out is what she didn’t say.

Jill Stein refused to address the fact that she attended a dinner in Moscow during the 2016 election cycle in which she sat at a table with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump adviser Michael Flynn. Stein is also still refusing to say whether the Kremlin paid her to attend, as it paid Flynn. If Stein is innocent, why didn’t she simply address the facts and evidence involved? Why is she now defending Russia against the U.S. government? Her Twitter meltdown is a giant red flag that investigators should be looking deeply into whatever her involvement in the Trump-Russia scandal may have been.

Trump instructed active duty military personnel to call Congress and pressure them on their TrumpCare votes, as reported by the Washington Post (link). This prompted MSNBC analyst and U.S. military veteran Malcolm Nance to flatly state that “Trump has starting issuing unlawful orders.” (link). This represents, in the early stages at the least, the kind of Constitutional crisis that experts have been warning about since the erratic and criminally compromised Trump first took office.

Trump illegally ordering military personnel to pressure Congress is not remotely on the same level as, for instance, Trump illegally ordering the military to use chemical weapons on United States soil. But some experts have long warned that this is how it incrementally begins. In any case John Brennan’s decision to encourage the executive branch to defy Trump’s illegal orders may be an even more remarkable development, when one considers that Brennan was a top federal official just months ago.

You would have thought he was king, not Kingston, and that we, the people, were his know-nothing, cowering, humble serfs. Like most of the poorly educated, he believes he knows more than he actually does (practically zilch!), and in truth he has some major self-esteem issues. How messed up in the brain do you have to be to embrace the ignorance, the stupidity, the vacuity, the venality, the laziness, the perversion, and the plain-as-the-nose-on-your-face mental incapacity that define Donald Trump just so you can nullify and diminish the intelligence, the erudition, the gravitas, the professorial demeanor of Barack Obama???
