Buzzfeed requests FOIA of the Federal Government for access to information and testimony pertaining to that Russian dossier.

Courtesy of Politico:

Add this surprising entry to the growing list of those issuing subpoenas for insight into the imbroglio involving President Donald Trump and the Russians: BuzzFeed.

The online media outlet sent formal demands Thursday to the CIA, the FBI and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, seeking details on the distribution of an unverified intelligence dossier about Trump said to have been in the possession of Russian intelligence during last year’s presidential campaign, POLITICO has learned.

BuzzFeed is also seeking testimony from fired FBI Director James Comey, as well as former DNI James Clapper and CIA Director John Brennan, said a source familiar with the subpoenas.

Now the reason that Buzzfeed is requesting this FOIA is to bolster their claim that publishing the dossier was protected by  the fair report privilege in order to fight a lawsuit against them from one Aleksej Gubarev, a Russian technology executive whose name happened to be included in that dossier.

Whatever the reason this could prove quite interesting as Buzzfeed will surely report on the progress of the subpoenas as well as share what they can of the testimony from Comey, Clapper, Brennan, and whoever else gets caught in their net.

I am also curious as to exactly how much of that dossier has been confirmed by the various intelligence agencies.

And this could be one way to find that out.

Who would have thought an American president would give his country to the Russians without even a fight? Who ever would have thought that?

When Sarah Palin crassly referred to Putin rearing his head I'll be she never realized that failing to keep an eye on Russia and supporting a fellow moron like Trump would result in American security being gone forever... just over the 'narrow maritime border' between Putin and Palin.

I hope when in the future blame is apportioned that Sarah Palin isn't allowed to duck for cover, like she usually does. And I hope it costs her a shitload of money. Useless bitch.

    1. Anonymous4:48 PM

Palin is a useless bitch but she isn't involved in this mess. The best thing to do is ignore her.

    2. Anonymous5:07 PM

How do we know she was or wasn't a part of all of this mess? She has as much evil in her as does Trump - they are so much alike it's amazing.

  2. Anonymous4:49 PM

Dont hold your breath. That toxic bitch is untouchable

    1. Anonymous7:00 PM

No one is untouchable! Palin and Trump have already learned that lesson. Palin quit and Trump is being his usual nasty self...he'll eventually go from the presidency, one way or the other.

    2. Anonymous7:02 PM

I beg to differ. She was shut down long ago, and now squawks like the old crow she is. But what do I know? I can't be the only one that rolled my eyes at the pic of dRumpf, Nugent, Kid Rock and her in the Oval. Talk about an unholy alliance!

  3. Anonymous5:14 PM

Buzzfeed doesn't have the authority to issue subpoenas. I think you mean FOIAs

      Palin Quittin' Day?

5:24 and 5:30 I was just gonna post the same thing.

Oh, for those fun relatively-care-free days of snarking at Sara and her gang.

I believe that making it OK for her to be V.P. lead to it being OK for unqualified Trump to be president.

I say It. Is. NOT. OK.

Christie was asked if he had gotten any sun today and claimed he didn't. When his spokesman was told about a photograph of Christie lounging on the sand with his family, he came up with this pathetic lie:

"Yes, the governor was on the beach briefly today talking to his wife and family before heading into the office. He did not get any sun. He had a baseball hat on."

  6. "... I’d go further to speculate that Trump’s implosion is more likely to occur before there’s an impeachment vote on the floor of the House — as was the case with Nixon. But where Nixon’s exit was catalyzed by an empirical recognition that he’d lost the votes he needed to survive a Senate trial, in Trump’s case the trigger will be his childish temper, not the facts. He’s already on record as finding the job to be more work than he bargained for. He’ll tire of being perceived as a loser by nearly everyone except the sort of people he’d never let in the front door of Mar-a-Lago — and of seeing the Trump brand trashed to the point of jeopardizing his children’s future stake in the family kleptocracy. When he’s had enough, I suspect he’ll find a way to declare “victory,” blame his departure on a conspiracy by America’s (i.e., his) “enemies,” and vow to fight another day on a network TBA. ..."

Hope they have better luck than Malia Litman did. Even being a lawyer, they fought her at every turn and what they "did" send was heavily redacted.

Think any of them are going to come forward with the truth? Yeah, right.

    1. Anonymous10:18 PM

They are actually seeking to get the info because they need it to defend themselves in a lawsuit brought against them,it's not just a run of the mill FOIA request. They will most likely have better luck.

John Oliver did a show on Putin that was to me, very frightening. A man who has stolen billions from his people and kills those who say so, and now he has his hands in our business. When will this nightmare end? And will Americans come together and save themselves before they bow down to Putin? Time will tell. Right now there are a lot of sleeping souls in this country that have no real concept of an ex KGB man who has become the richest man on this planet and wants more. Putin, Donald, and Palin are in collusion. It's not even funny. And there are a host of idiots here in America who still believe that Trump will make this country great. It was great before Election day, now it's on its' way to being taken over by a very evil soul.
