Courtesy of the Dallas Morning News:
President Donald Trump's first six months have been defined by his often angry and tasteless tweets, his ham-handed efforts to denigrate and undercut the multiple investigations into Russian influence in the 2016 election and the stalemated legislative battle to repeal and replace Obamacare.
The News then goes on to list a number of things that Trump has achieved.
Here is a sampling:
FOREIGN POLICY
-Embraced autocrats in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Philippines, Egypt and abandoned longtime U.S leadership in seeking to enhance democracy and human rights.
-Insulted U.S. allies in Europe, especially Germany, and undercut longstanding U.S. treaty commitments.
-Compromised Israel's intelligence sources.
-Spurred more divisiveness in an already divided Middle East by setting off a squabble between Saudi Arabia, a major U.S. ally, and Qatar, home of the region's biggest U.S. military base.
(Trust me there's more.)
DOMESTIC POLICY
-Proposed a budget with massive cuts that would shred the social safety net and cripple longstanding governmental functions.
-Created uncertainty in the nation's health care system by sending inconsistent administrative signals and supporting legislation that could deprive millions of people health insurance coverage, undermine Medicaid health support for lower income Americans and give wealthy taxpayers a massive tax cut.
-Mismanaged the federal government by failing to fill many top spots and installing an inexperienced, dysfunctional White House staff.
(Yep, there's more.)
INSTITUTIONAL DAMAGE:
-Committed potentially impeachable offenses of obstructing justice that prompted appointment of a Special Counsel by firing FBI Director James Comey, because of his probe into possible Trump campaign collusion with Russia, and urging other intelligence officials to pressure Comey to halt the probe.
-Undermined the courts with denunciations of judges and their decisions affecting his administration's policies, especially those curbing his hastily issued ban on Muslim travel from certain countries.
-Without evidence, accused former President Barack Obama of illegally wiretapping his phones.
-Repeatedly misrepresented his administration's policies and trashed officials with whom he has disagreements, calling the ousted Comey "a nut job," Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer the "head clown" and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi an "incompetent."
(And yes there is more. So much more.)
But that gives a fairly accurate overview of Trump's accomplishments thus far.
Hell if he accomplishes any more America will soon be a smoldering crater in the ground.
I guess this is what the Trumpsters meant by the term MAGA.
Wow, that editorial is from teo days ago, and Twitler hasn't had ameltdown about it yet..... how presidential of him. On the other hand, maybe no one has had time to help him with all those bigly words.
ReplyDeleteAnd what's with his NYT interview?
DeleteI thought they were fake news!
Eye Roll Troll :)
On tv Trump talked about the second meeting with Putin.
ReplyDelete1. Trump can be seen at the long dinner table and as expected, no other world leaders were paying attention to him and we know he needs to be loved and he needs attention.
2. Trump said he walked over to talk to Melania who happens to be sitting next to Putin.
3. HUH?
4. When has Trump been so concerned about Melania? When did Trump want to talk to Melania?
a. Was it the multiple times when he would walk up Air Force One stairs with Melania walking behind him?
b. Was it on inaugural day at the White House when Melania looked like his chamber maid when Trump ran up to the Obamas without Melania?
c. Was it the time Trump exited Air Force One walking down the stairs by himself and entered his limousine by himself and then you seen Melania walking down Air Force One stairs by herself and appeared to walk to another limousine by herself? The cameras showed Trump sitting by himself. Were they fighting on Air Force One?
d. That Trump is such a loving caring husband.
e. Trump has publicly shown more love and has confessed more love for Ivanka than he does for Melania.
f. On inauguration day, supposedly one of the happiest days in his life, Melania smiled when Trump appeared to have looked in her direction and frowned when he turned around. It appeared Trump was paying attention to Ivanka because she made some type of affectionate look back at daddy.
g. After returning from Germany, Trump runs over to New Jersey by himself to watch women play golf in their tiny outfits. I guess he loves watching women play in their tiny outfits more than going to see his son Barron.
h. President Obama never did all those selfish things Trump did.
POS poster boy. He is sick and making America Sick.
DeleteIt's pretty sick when your husband's side piece is his eldest daughter. Sure, Melania has seen and done unconditional propositions for money before.
DeleteThe question is, why was Melanoma sitting with putin, and what did they discuss (with no interpreter present) before the fat orange shit-gibbon sauntered over? I think that Melanoma is an agent of putin's, who was recruited by the FSB (former KGB) years ago. He was a KGB operative (professional spy) whose job is to infiltrate and extract intelligence at any cost.
Deletetrump probably is beholden to Russian money-men; that's why he has never released any of his tax returns. If this is the case, then she was recruited to keep tabs on him, and report to her "handlers". Supposedly, her father was a high-ranking official in the Communist party, having enjoyed perks never available to the masses. Once they are addicted to this lifestyle, there is no turning back.
Melanoma is the classic "honey trap"; the operative who beds the "mark", then extracts the intel. This is why trump is pro-Russia in his mind-set; they own him! This is my hypothesis; either it may be pure conjecture, or it may be close to the truth.
I honestly believe what you believe. She has all the qualifications for a spy. Entrapment is the best method. Donnie fell for it hook line and sinker.
DeleteJust goes to show how determined Putin is to win on this one.
As Americans we were duped because the Orange one was duped.
After this fiasco we will no longer be the innocent trusting citizens we one were. Once this thing unravels. What's worst is that with Trump and Putin we will find we were complicit on this whole situation.
I think it's funny that we hear all the time about how the third wife speaks five languages, but no one ever enumerates which languages they are. I'm sure Russian is on the list; her homeland was closely associated with the former Soviet Union and her father was in the military. I wouldn't trust the third wife any more than I trust her spouse.
DeleteBeaglemom
And there are people who think this is Making America Great Again. Gullible, stupid people.
ReplyDeleteThey also think Trump speaks 'common sense' without being fettered by political correctness. It's one reason they think he's great. Yes indeed, you said it ... "Gullible, stupid people." They think his lies are reality. The depth of their ignorance is profound.
DeleteYou know who else is a nut job, the head clown, and an incompetent?
ReplyDeleteYou guessed it correctly! How did you know?
Donald Trump, of course.
Gryph -- or some of you folks in Alaska:
ReplyDeletePLEASE!!! PLEASE!!! GIVE US SOME PALIN NEWS!!!
It's all Trump and it's all bad -- Trump-Russia -- Trump hand Putin the keys to Syria -- Trump hands Putin the keys to our elections -- Senate Republicans laugh at Trump -- Trump hates Sesssions -- Trump attacks FBI -- Trump warns Mueller "stay away from my money"
I CAN'T STAND MUCH MORE WITH A BREAK . . . I need some Palin news, you now, something to laugh at!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The nightmare we avoided in 2008. I would rather be laughing at Trump's fucked up family without him ever in office. We would be safe. This, now, the damage being done, is hard to take, day after day.
DeleteJesus Christ, just go buy a one way ticket to Anchorage if you want Palin bs. The rest of the planet has moved on.

OKAY, OKAY!! I GIVE UP!!!
DeleteI'll just go to the Way-Back Machine and read old posts about the midnight brawl, the blessed event, the girlfriend beating . . . anything to get a break from Trump.
Trump will not be President forever. My belief is the he and all his family and enablers will suffer dearly.
ReplyDeleteSomehow ,all this evil and mayhem he has brought to America's doorstep will soon catch up to him.
Unfortunately innocents may be collateral damaged.
Thank you ratshit trump and all of his ignorant supporters!!! We will not forget! Never give up !Do more then passive resistance!!!
Good god, get rid of our potus!
ReplyDeleteI like this one better:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/6-month-update-for-trump-voters_us_596f8355e4b01696c6a21313?section=us_contributor
"So after six months, has he delivered what he promised you?
1. He told you he’d repeal Obamacare and replace it with something “beautiful.” You bought it. But he didn’t repeal and he didn’t replace. (Just as well: His plan would have knocked at least 22 million off health insurance, including many of you.)
2. He told you he’d cut your taxes. You bought it. But tax “reform” is stalled. And if it ever moves, the only ones whose taxes will be cut are the wealthy.
3. He told you he’d invest $1 billion in our nation’ crumbling infrastructure. You bought it. But his infrastructure plan, which was really a giveaway to rich investors, is also stalled.
4. He said he’d clean the Washington swamp. You bought it. But he’s brought into his administration more billionaires, CEOs, and Wall Street moguls than in any administration in history, to make laws that will enrich their businesses, along with former lobbyists, lawyers and consultants who are crafting new policies for the same industries they recently worked for.
5. He said he’d use his business experience to whip the White House into shape. You bought it. But he created the most chaotic, dysfunctional, back-stabbing White House in modern history, in which no one is in charge.
6. He said he’d close “special interest loopholes that have been so good for Wall Street investors but unfair to American workers.“ You bought it. But he picked a Wall Street financier Stephen Schwarzman to run his strategic and policy forum, who compares closing those loopholes to Hitler’s invasion of Poland.
7. He told you he’d “bring down drug prices” by making deals with drug companies. You bought it. But now the White House says that promise is “inoperative.”"
There's more. Every one a gem.
