The US Military is paying $130,000 a month to stay in Trump Tower and protect a president who is never there.

Courtesy of CNBC:

The United States government is paying more than $130,000 a month to rent a space in Trump Tower for a military office that supports the White House, the Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday.

Lease documents obtained by the Journal showed the government agreed to pay $2.39 million for a 3,475 square foot space from April 11, 2017 to Sept. 30, 2018 — above market rate for similarly sized high rise luxury apartments, the report said.

A spokeswoman at the General Services Administration said the space is owned by someone not affiliated with the Trump Organization, suggesting the rent money isn't going to President Donald Trump, according to the report.

The GSA is the agency that negotiates office space agreements for the government.

An office like the one in Trump Tower is used by the U.S. military to provide services that need to be close to the president at all times. That includes medical, food, transportation, communications and a briefcase that allows the president to authorize a nuclear attack, the Journal said.

But here's the kicker.

The president, however, hasn't spent a night at the skyscraper since taking office, it added.

So to be clear, the American taxpayers are paying Donald Trump for the services needed to protect Donald Trump, which he never actually needs because the taxpayers are also paying to protect Donald Trump on one of Donald Trump's many golf course.

Which are also being paid to house those protective services.

Does that about sum this up?

Mueller Expands Probe to Trump Business Transactions

The U.S. special counsel investigating possible ties between the Donald Trumpcampaign and Russia in last year’s election is examining a broad range of transactions involving Trump’s businesses as well as those of his associates, according to a person familiar with the probe.

The president told the New York Times on Wednesday that any digging into matters beyond Russia would be out of bounds. Trump’s businesses have involved Russians for years, making the boundaries fuzzy so Special Counsel Robert Mueller appears to be taking a wide-angle approach to his two-month-old probe.

FBI investigators and others are looking at Russian purchases of apartments in Trump buildings, Trump’s involvement in a controversial SoHo development with Russian associates, the 2013 Miss Universe pageant in Moscow and Trump’s sale of a Florida mansion to a Russian oligarch in 2008, the person said....

Agents are also interested in dealings with the Bank of Cyprus, where Wilbur Rossserved as vice chairman before he became commerce secretary. They are also examining the efforts of Jared Kushner, the President’s son-in-law and White House aide, to secure financing for some of his family’s real estate properties. The information was provided by someone familiar with the developing inquiry but not authorized to speak publicly....

    1. You knew the minute Trump warned Mueller to stick to Russia and not to dare to investigate his business, that's where Mueller was going to go. Because Trump has something to hide. He is so transparent and stupid with his warnings and his intimidation. The minute he says "don't go there" you know that's where the dirt is. Trump puts a target on his own back. Then screams victim for being investigated and fake news when the dirt is uncovered.

      What a fucking man-baby.

Everytime a "Republican" entered the White House it cost the taxpayers. That alone should tell us where we are going with this president.
The coffers will be empty in three and a half years. And they will blame Obama.
I had to laugh at McConnell. Old turtle couldn't bend the universe to his liking. It's insanity at best. I mean we all know that old saying that if you continue to try the same methods and expect different results, it's insanity.
We need to put those people in an asylum. They're nuts.

Do those guys really need all of that puffy clothing and artillery in their arms to stand in front of a building? How many of them are out there all day? It's been quite a hot summer in the Northeast. They cannot be very comfortable; I hope it doesn't make them "trigger happy." Beaglemom

The entire republican party owns this. They bought that. And their core values, deep convictions and the good old patriot love of country drove them on the long tripp and winding road to nowhere here today. Way to go republicans. At least some of your party donors, members, supporters are Russian crooks
