Donald Trump claims that anybody would have attended that meeting with the Russians in Trump Tower. Then why the coverup? Update!

Okay first off this is patently incorrect.

Receiving opposition research is one thing, but getting it from a hostile foreign government is quite another thing indeed.

And IF Trump and his people truly believed this then why was this meeting not mentioned on Jared Kushner's security application?

And why did Junior initially lie about it and say it was about Russian adoptions?

And why did the Trump campaign hire attorneys for Junior two weeks before those emails about this meeting became public?

Look you don't have to spent time working on a farm to smell bullshit this pungent.

Trump can spin this, and spin this, and spin this, until he turns into butter, but the American people are getting wise to this constant redirection, which is why Trump's approval ratings are lingering somewhere between sexually transmitted disease and an IRS audit.

Update: On and there is also this:
When he says "most politicians" perhaps he just means Republicans.

Trump Goes All In on the 'Collusion Is Normal' Defense

After months of adamantly denying that investigators would find even a shred of evidence pointing to collusion between his campaign and Russia, President Donald Trump is aggressively embracing the view that his son’s cooperation with apparent Russian agents was entirely normal. On Monday, he acknowledged that his son, Donald Trump Jr., met with a Russian lawyer in the hopes of receiving damaging information about Hillary Clinton:

...The new tactic was to normalize collusion, arguing that in fact colluding with a foreign government in such a situation was neither nefarious nor illegal, and was in fact standard operating procedure. Jeanine Pirro, a Fox News host who has emerged as one of Trump’s most dogged defenders, even said, “If the devil called me and said he wanted to set up a meeting to give me opposition research on my opponent, I’d be on the first trolley to hell to get it.”

...There are several key weaknesses to the “collusion is normal” argument.

He had a craniotomy, brain surgery, his skull was sawed open, and a giant blood clot was excised from his frontal lobe and his skull was put back in place.

Big surprise that he might be out of commission for a while.

Can't believe how the party and his spokespeople underplayed the severity of this, he'd had some strange episodes on the floor of Congress recently and a frontal lobe clot makes perfect sense because he was making no sense and basically babbling a lot of strangeness.

Secret Service can be compelled to testify against Donald Trump in Russia scandal

Donald Trump’s attorney Jay Sekulow appeared to let slip on Sunday that Trump may have attended his son’s meeting during the campaign with representatives of the Russian government. The attorney claimed that the Secret Service wouldn’t have allowed the meeting to happen if it had been illegal. But in so doing he implied that the Secret Service was there – and at that time Trump was the only one under protection. Now a legal expert says this is an even bigger problem for Trump than first thought.

John Dean, the White House Counsel for Richard Nixon, was deeply involved in the Watergate conspiracy and coverup, and he knows exactly what’s privileged and what isn’t. Dean posted the following late last night: “Sekulow has no clue. SS doesn’t clear names for candidates. But if Trump attended the meeting the agent w/ him can be forced to testify!” (link). In other words, if Trump was in that meeting, the agents protecting him will have to give him up.

...If if it can be confirmed that Donald Trump himself was present at his son’s meeting, which took place for the explicit purpose of trying to conspire with the Russian government to rig the election against Hillary Clinton, then Donald Trump will have been proven guilty. The only debate will be whether the felony he committed was collusion, espionage, or treason.

    http://www.palmerreport.com/politics/legal-expert-secret-service-testify-trump-russia-scandal/3902/

Donald Trump hasn’t tweeted anything in weeks. If you go back and read any of his recent Twitter posts in the voice of Kellyanne Conway, you’ll realize she’s been ghostwriting them. Trump can’t even be bothered to rage-tweet anymore, because things have gotten just that bad for him. So let’s see how his increasingly fragile psyche fares as he heads into this week, the worst of his life to date.

Where do we even begin with how bad things are for Donald Trump right now? Like something out of a crime family novel, his lifetime of hubris is now in the process of taking down his own son. And, despite supposedly being the most powerful man in the world, there isn’t a thing he can do about it. But he’s got his own problems, because his son may have taken him down as well. And remember all those sudden rapid succession bombshells last week? Yeah, that wasn’t an anomaly.

Investigators and the media have spent months, some of them years in fact, chipping away with the tiniest of pick axes at the layer of concrete protecting Donald Trump’s Russia scandal. But last week they finally broke through. One discovery is now quickly leading to the next. Things have gone from playing out in slow motion to now playing out in real time, if not quite yet fast forward. Trump seems to know it, too. It’s why he’s been withdrawing. But things are about to get much, much worse for him.

Sarah Palin’s Defamation Suit Likely Dismissed-More Clickbait!

We’ve seen multiple examples of Sarah Palin’s desperate attempts to remain relevant. “Clickbait” is the term used to describe the efforts Palin is using to get people to think about her. The recent Defamation suit filed against the New York Times is one more example of clickbait. If you search the internet for “Palin defamation” you’ll see that the law suit was widely covered in the media. Thus the “news” is not the Palin was defamed, but that she filed a suit.
The Defamation suit was filed over a June 14 editorial that Palin asserts wrongly connected a map published by Palin’s PAC to the 2011 shooting of former U.S. Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-Ariz.). Palin contends that the editorial wrongly alleged her PAC’s advertisements placed “Giffords and 19 other Democrats under stylized cross hairs,” according to the court papers filed by Palin.

The editorial also maintained Palin’s PAC sparked “political incitement” but there was never a connection to Jared Loughner’s shooting of 18 people.

The Judge is the defamation case has set a hearing on a Motion to Dismiss on July 31st. If it is not dismissed, the trial date is Dec. 11.
The Motion to Dismiss was filed by the The New York Times based on the assertion that, as a matter of law, there was not actual malice in the editorial. The Times published a clarification the next day, in an attempt to correct any misrepresentation that the editorial reported. The Times asserts that its prompt and full correction of an editorial that referenced Palin’s political action committee nullifies her claims.

The article was a commentary on the recent shooting of Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise. In the editorial, the Times wrote that before the shooting of Giffords, Palin’s political action committee circulated a map of targeted electoral districts that put Giffords and 19 other Democrats under stylized cross hairs.

The Times revised the online version of the editorial the following morning to remove those references and to make clear that the crosshair on the map appeared over Giffords’ district rather than over her name or image. The Times also stated: “We’re sorry about this and we appreciate that our readers called us on the mistake.”

The Judge will likely grant the Motion to Dismiss for several reasons:

He's increasing the H-2B visas. Because you know all his buddies need cheap foreign workers to keep their profit margins up.

"The H-2B program allows workers from places like Mexico and Guatemala to come to the U.S., work for a few months at a government-set prevailing wage, and then return to their home countries, only to repeat the process the following year. Large U.S. industries such as hospitality, seafood processing, and landscaping and forestry have come to rely on the relatively cheap labor supplied through the H-2B pipeline. Trump’s own businesses, including his resort Mar-a-Lago, have used the program. "

I don't think that Trump is "deliberately" doing anything. Our fast track into international irrelevance is basically a side effect of the way that Trump operates as he is ignorant to the administration of proper governance.

Any country that could elect such an imbecile had inherent weaknesses prior to the election that placed him in power; strong nations with majority learned and literate populaces don't elect idiots to the highest office in the land.

Face it, America is broken and Trump is merely a symptom of the rampant ignorance that is infecting the majority of our population.

A country that ranks at the bottom of civilized nations in regards to education and worships things called "The Kardashians", devoured 17 seasons of Trump's Apprentice and has a fascination with "Teen Moms" is a country that need to rethink how we educate our children and help them make good choices, and soon or this trend will be irreversible, if already it isn't.

    President

Trump rambled and invented his own false economic statistics as he meandered on about several unrelated topics and appeared to barely come back to the topic during a "Made In America" week event at the White House.

...Trump babbled on about signing bills. He rattled on about selling beef in China, which has nothing to do with US manufacturing. Trump claimed that he wanted to bring back shopping malls and retail, which again had nothing to do with manufacturing.

Trump’s biggest lie was the claim that he has created 45,000 new coal jobs.

As Daniel Dale of The Toronto Star pointed out:

...The President has created an alternate universe that he is residing in that exists in his own mind. Trump is obviously not well. At one point, he went completely off the tracks and starting jabbering about Obamacare. Trump didn’t make a single specific proposal related to US manufacturing, but he did mention Obamacare at least five times.

Trump is not well, and the White House is keeping him away from reporters in what appears to be an effort to hide his decline.

Russia demands Trump return U.S.-soil “spy compounds” with no strings attached

The Russian government has picked a strange time to start issuing ultimatums to the United States.

But that’s what Moscow has done in recent days, demanding that control of two large, Russian-owned compounds in the United States be returned to the Russian government immediately, and that no conditions be attached to their return.

The fenced-off estates, one in Maryland and one in rural New York, are often referred to as “spy compounds.” They were closed by President Barack Obama last December in retaliation for the Russian government’s interference in U.S. elections. The U.S. also expelled 35 Russian diplomats. The action was announced just days before the U.S. intelligence community issued a report accusing Russia of interfering in last year’s election and specifically trying to help Trump get elected.

Now, despite an avalanche of additional information that has deeply implicated the Russian government in its attempt to get Donald Trump elected last year, Moscow is demanding the secluded, Russian-run retreats be returned — or else.

Compound negotiations were scheduled to resume Monday in Washington, D.C., and early indications are that the White House is likely to go along with it.

    The question is why.

Come On, We All Know That Trump Is Lying About Not Being Told About Russia Meeting, Right?

The bottom line is: President Trump totally knew about the meeting, and everyone is lying about this. The weirdest part is I think pretty much everyone in the media already knows this, but is hesitant to go that far for fear of appearing to pile on too quickly, or being accused of “Fake News!”

When assessing this question, the first element to consider is the nature of the Trump organization and the personality of Trump himself. Neither is remotely known for valuing rules, procedure, formalities, or discipline. This is a man who, even as president, routinely tweets at all hours of the night, on sensitive topics, all based on information often as suspect as “people are saying.” He is also a notorious control freak.

Keep in mind, in June 2016, Trump wasn’t even officially the GOP nominee yet and was still running a renegade, seat-of-your pants, live day-to-day campaign which centered completely on him. So, on its face, the idea of a meeting of this magnitude being taken in Trump Tower, with the three top people in Trump’s orbit (all of whom would be taking a massive risk by participating without the approval of the boss), and him not knowing about it, is completely absurd.

Just think about what Trump’s ignorance would entail...

  20. Spicey's back. And no, it wasn't.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/sean-spicer-donald-trump-jr-eeting_us_596d0765e4b0b95f893d4e5e

"White House press secretary Sean Spicer on Monday appeared to be confused about Donald Trump Jr.’s June 2016 meeting with a Russian lawyer, claiming it was about adoptions — contradicting both Donald Trump Jr. and the president, who have both confirmed the true reason for the meeting."

The Russians froze out the U.S. from adopting Russian children is response to the U.S. sanctions Obama put in place for the hackers interfering with our elections.

So "adoptions" is basically code for sanctions and hacking.

Veselnitskaya was a lobbyist trying to get the sanctions lifted. Hence the use of "adoptions" because this was basically lift the sanctions and we'll allow adoptions again. Sanctions were punishment for hacking.

"Veselnitskaya has lobbied against the Magnitsky Act, a law passed by Congress in 2012 that imposed sanctions on Russian officials. In retaliation for the sanctions, the Kremlin imposed a ban on Americans adopting Russian children."

    It is ALL related.

I have no doubt this was "We'll give you dirt on Clinton and help you get elected if you remove the sanctions. If you do, we'll allow America to adopt Russian children again."

So saying it's about adoptions isn't totally a lie. But it isn't the truth either and it is covering up the treason of conspiring with a foreign government to get elected.

"Despite both father’s and son’s insistence that the meeting was routine, many experts believe it violated campaign finance laws that make it illegal to solicit, accept or receive contributions and donations from foreign nationals. Legal experts say this generally includes political opposition research.

Republican political operatives told HuffPost last week that it would be unheard of for campaign veterans to take such a meeting, and that they would have reported it to the FBI."

That is actually one of the hallmarks of conservative brain orientation: they believe everyone is as underhanded and feckless as they are. AND they're paranoid as hell. Has there EVER been a time when everything they hold dear wasn't on the brink of destruction at the hands of some enemy? They have no other "mode", they have no direction unless there is a "them" to fight against.

They're basically a vestigial organ that used to help keep the species alive, and now are dooming it to death. Maybe once conservatism is recognized as a mental disorder, we can get the species back on track to do something more meaningful than wreck the planet, worship money and facilitate greed.
