Indiana Republicans request "Obamacare Horror Stories." It does not go as expected.

After this appeared on the Indiana Republican's Facebook page the responses started pouring in:

  • My children with significant health issues were able to obtain coverage regardless of their pre-existing conditions. Oh, the horror.
  • I have several pre-existing conditions and was stranded in a job I hated because it provided good insurance. The ACA gave me the freedom to quit that job and try to do something with my days that made me much happier without worrying that I would lose.
  • My kids had health insurance until they were 26. Two of them had a hard time finding jobs that offered benefits, and since they could stay on my plan, they were able to take some jobs that did not offer insurance. This gave them experience for other, better jobs. Thanks ObamaCare!
  • Nothing changed for us and we kept our doctors.
  • Our good friend in his early 40's was diagnosed with kidney failure and thanks to the ACA was able to have transplant surgery and is living life again instead of stuck at home on dialysis multiple times a day.
  • Let's see ... had not had health coverage since getting cancer while on COBRA back in 1997, and finally got coverage again from ObamaRomneyHeritageCare in 2014. OH THE HORROR IN HAVING HEALTH COVERAGE!
  • The Horror story is that the IGNORANT TRUMPsters want to take away health care from people who are basically happy with it. Why can't we have the health care that these corrupt politicians have while we work harder than they do to pay for their healthcare.
  • My niece Karla had seizures, all her life. Obamacare let her be on her parents insurance until 26. The Dr. gave her a needed operation and paid for her child. That she would not have been able to have or live through. Thanks Obamacare for her and baby Zozie.
  • Wow. I came to this page to find out what Republicans voters in Indiana are finding about problems with Obama care. I couldn't find a single post unfavorable to Obamacare. What do the Republicans who want to repeal the ACA think about this? Are there any among those who vote Republican?

I actually went quite a way through the comments looking for some that support the repeal and replacement of Obamacare.

I'm sure they must be there someplace but I certainly did not see them.

You would think this might convince the Republicans that touching Obamacare is a bad move.

But if they realized that would they really be Republicans?

I certainly do NOT support repealing the ACA.

I DO support improving it, as it isn't perfect, by a long shot. The hubbs and I cannot afford the monthly premiums, much less the deductible, and YES we have shopped around. We live in a red state that didn't accept the federal ACA funds. So, ACA--Not Perfect. Still millions of citizens who need affordable coverage and can't afford it.
    Needs Work, Needs Improvement.
Which Democrats have proposed improvements to the ACA? Please tell me. For damn sure not Joe Sam Queen(D-NC), our district's guy. He's a waste of time/air/energy. He's a career politician, and he's not worried about anybody but himself and he might as well be a republican. It's Democrats like this that need to GO!!!! He's getting great health care on the taxpayers' dollars, so he's got his, Jack.

I clicked on the link to the GOP facebook page and see the question is still there. Can't believe they have not removed it after all the responses they got that were not horror stories at all.

By leaving it there, it seems to me their "facts" about how bad the ACA is are just another example of GOP FAKE NEWS!!!!!

Maybe if the GOP's goal was improvement of the ACA, they would get involvement from some/many Dems. But, since their goal is to get rid of it, damn the cost to their constituents, they have made it a project no democrat would want to be part of. Any ninny would know that, but then the GOP are just sub-ninny these days.

The National Bible Museum, Now With Stolen Artifacts

US Confiscates Ancient Iraqi Artifacts Illegally Imported By Hobby Lobby

The Department of Justice on Wednesday filed to forfeit thousands of ancient Iraqi cuneiform tablets and clay bullae, or seals, illegally imported in 2010 by arts and crafts chain Hobby Lobby.

Hobby Lobby agreed in December 2010 to purchase “over 5,500 Artifacts, comprised of cuneiform tablets and bricks, clay bullae and cylinder seals, for $1.6 million,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York announced in a release.

The artifacts “originated into the area of modern-day Iraq and were smuggled into the United States through the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Israel, contrary to federal law,” the office said.

According to the release, shipments of the artifacts lacked “the required customs entry documentation” and were labeled as tile “samples” and shipped to Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc. “and two of Hobby Lobby’s corporate affiliates.”

Hobby Lobby “consented to the forfeiture of the artifacts” and “an additional sum of $3 million,” the office said, and agreed to make internal changes including personnel training, hiring outside counsel and submitting “quarterly reports to the government on any cultural property acquisitions for the next eighteen months.”

In a statement, Hobby Lobby president Steve Green said the company “should have exercised more oversight and carefully questioned how the acquisitions were handled.”

As long as you don't mention that nasty, nasty contraception stuff, what 's the big deal over a little international theft?

Has anyone here ever been in a Hobby Lobby? Too many religious things. You wold think since Green is so in love with the Bible and Jesus that he would know that lying and stealing are two of the big ten no noes.

    3. So they can afford $1.6 million to buy stolen goods, then $3 millions in fines and forfeiture of said stolen goods, but they refuse to cover birth control for their employees?

PISS on them. I will NEVER buy from Hobby Lobby.

Mitch McConnell Loses Big As Senate Republicans Delay Healthcare Vote For Another Week

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s plan to quickly pass a secret health care bill that would end coverage for 22 million Americans hit more snags, as the vote on the bill was delayed for an additional week because Republicans still don’t have the votes to pass it.

    1. The longer they wait, the less votes they are going to have.

It just gives the opposition more time to organize, push and influence and exposes more of the atrocities this "death" bill proposes.

Since facebook has me locked out, He's my Indiana Obamacare story and what was wrong with it.
Husband and I have worked since teen years. Got college degrees, now have graduate degrees. Through a downsizing at an Indiana state university (thanks, Mitchscum Daniels) we both lost our jobs. Since MikePencescum refused to expand Medicaid, we were caught in the hole of too little income (unemployment- and a cobbled together job - $10,00 annual) for subsidy, too much (over $5,000 annually for a family of 4 on unemployment) to qualify for Medicaid. None of it was a fault of Obamacare/ACA. Just the stupid ReTHUGS running Indiana.

This entire healthcare fiaso has been so blatently dishonest and laughably despicable that i'm beginning to believe it's a shiny object. Hmmm... what could the Repubs have done ~ especially 45* ~ that would require an attention-grabbing shiny object?
