New York Times asks judge to throw out Sarah Palin defamation suit.

Courtesy of the Miami Herald:

The New York Times has asked a judge to toss out a defamation lawsuit former Alaska governor Sarah Palin filed against it.

The newspaper said in court papers late Friday that its prompt and full correction of an editorial that referenced Palin's political action committee nullifies her claims.

Palin sued the Times in Manhattan federal court last month, saying the newspaper had accused her of inciting the mass shooting that severely wounded then-Arizona U.S. Rep. Gabby Giffords. She sought unspecified damages.

In court papers Friday, Times lawyers noted that the plain words of the editorial referenced Palin's "SarahPAC" political action committee rather than Palin herself.

I think ultimately that this case is going to either be thrown out or Palin will yes "uncle" and give up after the costs get too high for it to worthwhile anymore.

Ultimately of course I would like to see Palin lose and then be forced to compensate the Times for court costs, but I do not see it going that far.

I would love seeing her ass nailed to the wall. Her lawsuit is frivolous and I hope it costs her big bucks if she elects to pursue it.

She's an idiot and has proven it true so damn many times!

    1. Anonymous12:20 PM

No question about it ! Sarah has consistently been an idiot, since day one.
Way to go Sarah! You are a good man! Imbecile.

  2. Anonymous11:58 AM

Someone -- Peter Thiel? --- is paying for her attorneys. And she won't be asked to pay the Times' attorneys' fees. But the suit will either be dismissed or she'll lose, since she wasn't defamed, there was no malice, and her reputation is too far gone to be damaged anyway.

    1. Anonymous3:20 PM

I don't think anyone would bother to pay her atty fees at this point, she's a has been.
I do think she thought she could make a quick buck but the NYT isn't playing.

    2. Anonymous8:14 PM

She is such a has-been at this point. She's completely irrelevant and we'll make sure she stays that way (along with her Bristol (mom to 5?)

  3. Anonymous11:58 AM

There is no reason for her to sue. She's lucky Mrs. Giffords and the families of the murdered victims didn't sue her deplorable ass.

    1. Anonymous1:25 PM

Sarah Palin IS and has ALWAYS been responsible for what occurred to Gabby - as well as the death of that darling little girl!

Sarah will be repaid and it's going on now - she has a shitty life and is despised throughout our country and MOST especially by the residents of Alaska. Plus, her husband has zero regard for her! She's living a 'sham' as to her marriage!

For a child that isn't really his, Dakota seems very devoted to Sailor. Maybe you don't know as much as you think you dp.

    1. Leland12:36 PM

"...Maybe you don't know as much as you think you dp."

I would venture to say that it is YOU who doesn't know, considering this posting has absolutely NOTHING to do with Dakota, his wife or their kids.

It is about SP and the spanking she is going to be, hopefully, getting from the judge.

And, BTW, proofreading is always a good idea.

    2. Anonymous12:46 PM

Regarding dumkota's offspring, I am sure the woman herself wasn't sure he was the sperm donor, but the kid looks like him, including the alcohol syndrome look or FAS.

    3. Anonymous12:52 PM

What does MOH or Baby Sailor have to do with Sarah Palin's frivolous lawsuit against the NYT?

    4. Anonymous12:55 PM

For a so called devoted father he left his children the last 3 holidays to go on boy trips. Maybe you don't know as much as you think or maybe your eyes are crossed like the Palins and their bastard babies and you've been unable to read the facts jack.

    5. Wrong post, dipshit.

    6. Anonymous1:32 PM

12;55 PM - he had a lot of #soulsearching to do, poor baby That honeymoon period didn't last long, now did it.

    7. Anonymous1:48 PM

      Here you go

    8. Anonymous1:52 PM

Do are you admitting Dakota didn't father Sailor 12:05?

    9. Anonymous3:43 PM

So you're finally admitting, three kids three dads?

    10. Anonymous3:44 PM

DP? Bristol is into double penetration? Not terribly shocking.

  5. Anonymous12:05 PM

I am pretty certain the Judge would like to just throw Sarah out!
She is always looking for attention! When will she stop wasting everyone's time! Unlike you skank,
most of us , except for trump supporters have better things to do. Imbecile Sarah!

  6. Anonymous12:31 PM

Yes, I would like to see her able to make a yuuge long court case out of this. Millions spent and great lengthy detailed depositions. Unfortunately, as Republicans like to say "nothingburger".

My guess is it will be short lived and nothing will come of it. She is not even getting much press out of it. If she had any sense she could see that no one cares much as to what has happened to that fraud that hood winked herself into being in a campaign with the old senator.

If she is lucky there should be a few evangelical types. Pat Robertson, Alex Jones may help her to tell her story. Go Sarah! The world is going to forget all about you if you don't do something NOW. Take advantage of this little window of opportunity. Your daughter, the political wife and inactive activist, will help you with a great Daily Mail story that will say whatever you make up.

Someone is paying those gawky lawyers, they are hot. Certainly they will be able to do something to drag this out for a Sarah 'Nothingburger' Palin. Lawyers and backers don't want to just become a laughing stock after their previous success.

  7. Anonymous12:35 PM

I recall that Sarah Palin couldn't be prevented from trying to make the shooting all about the real victim, Sarah Palin. Blood libel and lip gloss.

I recall that Sarah Palin couldn't be prevented from crowing about the success of her "gunsights" just days before Bekki Blubbergutz meekly tried to claim "surveyor's marks". It was Sarah Palin that took credit for all the gunsights and all the reloading, it was not SarahPAC.

Any person with an understanding of the English language and access to the internet can't fail to see what Sarah Palin was up to. The NYT won't have a hard time.

But I have to say I hope by some miracle it drags out and costs both sides plenty. I recall when the New York Times censored a letter to the editor from Andrea Faye Freeman after she had been viciously attacked in the media by none other than Sarah Palin. Why the NYT chose to censor a disabled Palin victim isn't hard to guess but they deserve to pay for their comprehensive licking of Palin's stinky ass and I only wish I could tell them so myself.

  8. Palin is going to ignore the advice of her counsel and bet on winning and the Times having to pay court costs. I'm sure she was advised not to file in the first place but look how she took that advice.

I'm betting the Times motion will be accepted and this will be thrown out.

  9. Anonymous12:41 PM

Have the NY Times questioned her yet?

    1. Anonymous1:57 PM

      You mean deposed? No.

  10. Anonymous12:45 PM

I just remember Senator Giffords' interview before the incident saying how dangerous it was for SarahPAC to put up those gunsights.

You think $arah cares? As long as she didn't pull the trigger, she's innocent and still plays the victim. They WEREN'T surveyors marks and, even if Loughner was not a follower, the power of suggestion for those who are. Have you checked out her fan base? Holy shit, the hatred for being " christian."

    1. Anonymous2:58 PM

Sarah not only created the gunsights, even after Gabby Giffords voiced her fears Sarah still boasted heartily about how successful her gunsights were.

That's why the world laughed at her blood libel bullshit, and why wiser heads cautioned her against making an idiot of herself for posterity.

I hope the judge can see that Sarah Palin indeed BEGGED for culpability.

  11. Anonymous1:38 PM

Sarah Palin has never lived the life of a true Christian - much like The Donald! They are two peas in a pod - deplorable and evil as Hell!

    1. Anonymous1:58 PM

Ok, what the fuck is a True Christian, besides a oxymoronic phrase?

    2. Anonymous3:36 PM

Just the opposite of palin and chump

  12. Anonymous2:57 PM

Just where is Sarah's money coming from? She's a nothing burger now. No Palin is actually earning an income, and DOH isn't either. Is selling crap on the internet that lucrative?

    1. Anonymous2:12 PM

She could still be sputtering along on the ill-gotten gains that are still left from the glory grifting days. With SarahPAC funds supporting her & her demon spawn for years, she wouldn't have needed to tap as far into the proceeds from the speeches, book deals, etc. A prudent, intelligent person could have parlayed the personal fortune into a secure retirement. What Palin will do when the well runs dry is anybody's guess.

  13. Anonymous3:21 PM

Ah yes, that patented, smarmy, ignorantly-sanctimonious "I told you so" mug. Fuck you, Sarah: Go find a real job for once in your life.

PS - You are soooooo fucking boring. Very 2008.

  14. Anonymous6:56 PM

Sarah, history will show that you were a loud mouth troublemaker from the start. You and Donald are of the same low caliber.
History will not look back and say nice things of you and he.
And don't lie to yourself. You were on a roll and doing the devil's work. Now Donald has that job.
When Putin installs his people in the White House you and Donald will be traitors. There is no glory in yours' and his future. Pray about that.

  15. Anonymous9:41 PM

Oh Sarah you better take notice.
That one you crucify is demoing
the house you guided to be built with malice. Paybacks a bitch.
Word is, that one's going on a long trip, far far away to court.
Oh Sarah you better take notice.
Hey Gryphe. How's it hanging. ;)

Don't feed the trolls!
It just goes directly to their thighs.
