US Admiral says that he would launch a nuclear attack against China if Donald Trump commanded it. WTF?

Courtesy of NPR:

At a security conference in Australia on Thursday, this scenario was posed to the commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet: If ordered to do so by President Trump, would he would launch a nuclear attack on China next week? His response: Yes.

An academic in the audience posed this question to Adm. Scott Swift: "At risk of being blunt ... If, when you return to your command next week, you were to receive an order from the commander in chief, the president of the United States, to make a nuclear attack on China, would you do it?"

As the audience tittered at the premise, the admiral smiled and said, "So far, these were yes and no answers."

"The answer would be yes," Swift went on. "Every member of the U.S. military has sworn an oath to defend the constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic and to obey the officers and the president of the United States as the commander in chief appointed over us."

"This is core to American democracy and any time you have a military that is moving away from a focus and an allegiance to civilian control, then we really have significant problems," Swift added.

Okay now I have never been a member of the armed services but isn't it the duty of the United States military to defy and order that they believe is dangerous to the country or that comes from a superior clearly suffering from an mental illness?

Attacking China would be suicide. This guy has to know that.

Right?

Jesus Christ, if anybody needs me I will be curled up in the fetal position under my bed.

(CNN) Sen. John McCain said Thursday the White House is realizing it made a mistake when President Trump announced a ban preventing transgender Americans from serving in the armed forces without first consulting the military.

WTF? I COULD BE WRONG, DIDN'T THAT LYING RAT FACE BASTARD MENTIONED HE CONSULTED WITH "MY GENERALS AND MILITARY EXPERTS"?

(CNN) Trump announced Wednesday that transgender individuals would no longer be allowed to enlist or serve in the military.

"After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military," Trump said in a series of tweets. "Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail."

LYING POS.... WHO WAS TRUMP'S MILITARY EXPERTS.... JARED?

What America needs to do is give Trump a full tank of gas for Air Force One and tell him to just go fly around and do his Love Me Rallies and leave us the fuck alone.

    Washington Post:
What do we do if Trump really is crazy?

    By Dana Milbank
    Opinion writer
    July 28 at 3:51 PM

Maybe I’m doing this all wrong.

For five years, I’ve been identifying Donald Trump, now president of the United States, as a nutter. I’ve called him crazy, daft, a madman, barking mad and mad as a March hare, and I’ve “diagnosed” him — I’m not a mental-health professional and have never examined the president — with narcissistic personality disorder and more. To that list, I feel compelled to add a few more technical observations: He also seems off his rocker, ’round the bend and a few fries short of a Happy Meal....

“I think he’s crazy,” Reed said. “I mean, I don’t say that lightly and as a kind of a goofy guy.”

    “I’m worried,” Collins replied....

I’m doing a lot of the “don’ts” with Trump but not the things I should be doing.

Don’t use sarcasm. Avoid humor. Don’t criticize, accuse or blame. Avoid sounding patronizing or condescending. Don’t assume they are not smart. Be respectful. Be aware that the delusions they may experience are their reality. Stay calm. Minimize distractions. Turn off the TV. Simplify — one topic at a time. Stick to present issues. Acknowledge what the other person says and how they feel, even if you don’t agree.

All good advice, no doubt. Certainly, our patient would benefit from turning off the TV and minimizing distractions. He does much better when issues are simplified. He reacts poorly to criticism and accusation. And, unnervingly, he seems to believe the many false things he says....

Trump, he said, has a “moment-to-moment” way of thinking, without an orderly, long-term strategy. When it comes to strategic thinking, “it’s difficult to discern who’s doing that,” said Reed, an Army veteran and top Democrat on the Armed Services Committee, who — incredibly — Trump has not once consulted....

It all brings to mind one more piece of advice I found online for dealing with people with serious mental-health issues: It may be necessary to lower your expectations.

    Mother Jones-
Scotland Is Blocking the Expansion of Donald Trump’s Golf EmpireThe country’s environmental authorities are putting the brakes on a lucrative new development...

The two courses, Turnberry on the west coast of Scotland and Aberdeen on the North Sea, have together been losing millions of dollars per year. And that doesn’t seem likely to change anytime soon: Scottish environmental authorities are now putting the brakes on a Trump Organization development that would make one of the president’s prized properties vastly more profitable...

And the course is a money-loser. While Trump listed the course as having $3.8 million in revenue on disclosure documents filed in the United States, corporate filings made in the United Kingdom by the Trump Organization show that the course actually lost $1.8 million in 2015, the most recent year that it reported earnings. Previous years have shown similar losses....

Though Trump has pointed to his Scottish courses as evidence of his international popularity, in reality he has generated a lot of bad blood in the country where his mother was born. Long before Trump ran for president, a move that was not popular in Scotland, he had already managed to alienate locals by feuding with his neighbors, whose land he aggressively tried to buy, and bickering with local planning authorities. ...

It is the military responsibility to disobey an illegal order. Or an unethical one. But until the order is given, you can't know if it is or not. What you have if he said otherwise is a ruling military junta. I have my fingers crossed there'd be a lot of slow walking and refusals and misfunctions if The Rump actually gave such an order.

Had Lord Dampnut followed protocol the transgender ban would have been more serious. Since the command was tweeted advocates can get in front of the issue and stop further abuses by invoking the constitution.

As I understand the military, refusing a direct order from your commanding officer (a designation I reluctantly apply to Rump) is a very bad career ending event.

I don't envy our military today.

Trump was never prepared to be president.

Being the president of the most powerful military and nation in tbe world requires a president who can make decisions and judgement calls based on the big picture and not by reading bullet points on a single 1/2 sheet of paper and not by the recommendations from an unqualified snot nose person:

    1. Just because he is banging his daughter.

    2. Who supposedly owes lots of money to foreign entities.

    3. Is under investigation for colluding with our enemy.

They say the infighting in the West Wing of the White House is caused by wanting to be the last person to blow decisions and policies into President Trump's ear. Who was the last person to put the idea of banning Transgender personnel from the military? Was it President Jared, President Bannon, the ousted President Reince Priebus or by the newly President Mini Me "aka The Mooch"?

And I really don’t want that to happen. I think that’s part of the reason why my response to people saying, “This is too alarmist,” was to really say, “No, this is something that’s really alarming.”

Hmmm. No one in the GOP objected to their 60-vote rule which was put in place by the GOP when they controlled the Senate back in an earlier Democratic administration (in the 1990s, I think). The GOP used their rule at every opportunity while President Obama was in office, even implying that it was established by the founding fathers. Why should the Democrats cooperate with the Republicans now when everything brought for a vote is against their very core values? Values count to Democrats and their supporters.

  19. Blind obedience.

It's that same blind obedience the electoral college was infected with that ratified Trump as the president and brought us to this disaster.

I think someone should go back to each elector and ask them, if you knew then what you know now, would you still cast your vote for Trump?
